Café Bilboquet is a charming cafe known for its beautiful interior, delicious pastries (especially croissants and macaroons), and coffee. Some find it overpriced for the service style (disposable cups) and portions. It can get crowded and noisy.

This has become my regular weekend spot. The quality is superlative. Don’t listen to the reviews that are mad about the prices. It’s an authentic tic French cafe in the Upper East Side so idk what they were expecting. There are plenty of things extremely reasonably priced. I’ve never not been happy leaving here.
Great spot for coffee, sandwiches and people watching. Gets too crowded at times around lunch so hard to find a place to sit. But well worth the wait. When busy, drinks are slow to arrive. Probably need to add staff. We had Tuna brioche and chicken baguette along with coffee. Wonderful! Back again on October with our noise from Calif. got coffee, sandwich and pastry. All delicious. Such a great spot to people watch. We bring all out of town visitors here for the experience. Stopped in again New Years Eve to have out last coffee of 2025 at one of our favorite places to snack and have coffee. Today we just got an Americano. Took us about 10 minutes to get a table as it was really busy today. What a great place to people watch. On 60th st just off Park Ave. great location. Stopped in again today after lunch for a coffee and sweet. It was really busy so we had to wait 15 minutes for a nice table in the back. Today we had an Americano coffee and a slice of chocolate almond cake. Yummy!
On Friday Jan. 16th a friend brought me here. It was my first time here. I had a sourdough baguette with vegetables and a small almond croissant. Both were delicious! The prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Worth another visit!
First time going today I went straight for the macaroons I asked the staff which once’s they recommend and once I got the top 4 me and my friend devoured it in seconds. They have a lot of options and also other yummy pastries I’ll be going back to try the others. The service was great , the atmosphere was nice. I am glad I went today. Big shout out to the staff thank you. I had a really nice experience here.
This place has a charm that is unique. The pictures up on the walls are all very captivating and beautiful and the service is so quick and efficient. I had a delicious quiche Lorraine and the eclairs looks so gorgeous. I had to take one home for the next morning, my iced latte was perfect. The caffeine was strong as hell and if I ever find myself back on 60th St.I’ll definitely pass by the café. There’s lots of seating and plenty of pastries and savory items to try. The packaging is also very nice. It looks expensive.
I visited Café Bilboquet in New York and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The place is beautifully designed with elegant décor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it perfect whether you’re alone or with friends. The service was exceptional — the staff were friendly, attentive, and paid attention to the little details that make you feel truly valued as a guest. The coffee was simply excellent — rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. I also tried their pastries and desserts, which were fresh and absolutely delicious, especially the croissant: perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The location is great, close to lively spots in Manhattan, yet the ambiance inside remains calm and relaxing. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality of the food, coffee, and service makes it worth every penny. Overall, I highly recommend Café Bilboquet if you’re looking for a spot that combines elegance, comfort, and top-quality coffee and food.
A gem in New York! I can’t recommend this café enough, especially because I was lucky to be served in Spanish by a very friendly guy who made the experience even more welcoming. I tried the vanilla latte, and honestly, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had – the perfect balance of creaminess and flavor. Plus, the dessert was divine, a perfect complement to the drink. I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you for such special service and for making me feel at home!
Beautiful cafe with alcoves and luxurious velvet seating. The array of breakfast treats were of a wide variety (savory and sweet). The display case is enough to make your mouth water. We saw people indulge because of the attractive offerings. We had an orange brioche and chausson aux pommes. Very tasty. A little too sweet for me but I’ve been avoiding sugar these days.
I recently came across this café and grabbed a latte with a croissant. The croissants are delicious, and the service is quick and friendly. I tried the apple turnover on a later visit and wasn’t too impressed with the applesauce-style filling rather than diced apples, but I’ll definitely be back for the croissants.
Great desserts, and they have wine too. Though I really liked how dry the prosecco was, 25 for one glass seemed a bit extra. Its a small space but cozy. Might stop by again.
The place looks cozy and inviting. It's definitely missing the authentic French behind all those foods and pastries. Someone who understands the food and coffee and adds value to it. Even though the staff seemed new, they were helpful and pleasant. We got 2 small cakes and 1 almond croissant. For me, these were average. The chocolate one was more pleasant than the white one [charlotte]. Definitely recommend to try. I will not be coming back simply because, 34$? I understand, upper east side, but price should match taste and there was no wow.
My iced vanilla latte was solid but it’s pricey for a place with no specialty drinks. Came Wednesday afternoon and the line was pretty long but moved quickly. My iced latte was good for the first couple sips and then turned bitter. I need to mix it more next time. Overall it’s a solid spot but maybe not a frequent one for me
This is the little cafe that tried to be French but didn’t succeed. Here is the good, croissants were delicious, the coffee was great too…….. but Then failure: you get Starbucks treatment of paper plates, plastic forks, disposable cups. Unlike a real French cafe you will not get any enjoyment sitting down with a proper coffee cup or glass plate, and metal fork when you dine in and the funny part is you’re still prompted for a 25% tip.
For an $8 flat white, $7 hot chocolate, $15 opera cake, and a $15 lemon tart, I would have expected table service and real dishes. But we were tired from walking and needed a break so we came in without reading the reviews. Yes, it's French. Yes, you're paying for the name attached to the food. But it did not feel worth the price. It was very, very busy so all the tables were occupied or dirty. There were forks on the floor. Yet during a brief lull, one staff member had time to remove a plastic heart from the door instead of cleaning the empty tables. And I was given my desserts on paper plates with plastic forks, and my coffee in paper cups. Not worth $45.
Rude and bad service. They were rude to my wife after purchasing an overpriced dessert for nearly 20 bucks, for no apparent reason. Not sure why they choose to single her out and start barking off on her & not other customers but…. Bizarre and unkind. The chocolate dessert was mediocre; tasting and texture of a something you could find at CVS. Was really disappointing. Some people seem to be unbothered and allowed to sit endlessly, and to be merry; while others are singled out to be rushed along. There was no need for all that! Plenty of other options around the area and the city; spend your money with them. Café Bilboquet isn’t worth the trouble.
‼️ BE AWARE ‼️ I came into the shop this past Sunday and bought 4 mini croissants and a fruit tart only to find out the berries are covered with mold!! I didn’t even noticed it until I had a few bite, it is unacceptable!! I hope I don’t get food poison from it, contacted the customer service and still waiting for their response before I contact the health department.
