Every time we come back, it's always a sure thing!! High quality raw materials and cooked very well (my partner is from Abruzzo and we know the dishes very well). The lamb with cheese and eggs is amazing, as is the cipollata, the sheep alla callara, artisanal arrosticini (you can't find them in Milan) phenomenal, quality platter, not to mention the cabbage with crusco peppers!! All washed down with an excellent inferi... during the holidays we ordered the 'parrozzo', a typical sweet made by them, to eat at Christmas with the family, it made a great impression, we all came back 'home'! Congratulations!! Always friendly and helpful service!! We'll be back soon, highly recommended! Well done!!
An excellent Abruzzo restaurant. Extensive menu, tasty dishes, and a lovely atmosphere. The staff is particularly kind and attentive. Thank you so much, and keep up the good work.
We returned for the second time in a while, and it confirmed what we remembered. Definitely the best Abruzzo cuisine in the area. The service was impeccable, and they were always available to offer recommendations. The anellini were phenomenal, the cured meats excellent, and the mutton stew melted in your mouth.
Welcoming atmosphere and setting, very friendly and helpful staff. Traditional Abruzzo cuisine, accompanied by select beverages. The arrosticini are a must-try. Highly recommended for all lovers of good food.
I went there for dinner. My experience was more than positive. The food was well made and very tasty. I really appreciated the arrosticini! The service was perfect, they were really nice and kind. I even left with a gift and I really appreciated this gesture. Something that had never happened to me. I thank everyone for their kindness and hospitality. I highly recommend coming to this corner of Abruzzo
Here in Cermenate, I didn't expect to find authentic Abruzzo cuisine. I enjoyed a delicious platter of local cured meats, the famous mutton arrosticini, delicious. The authentic scalded beef with crusco peppers, and the legendary mutton stew! Truly well-made, all accompanied by a good wine, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Good value for money.
Osteria Rifugio d'Abruzzo in Cermenate is a place to enjoy traditional Abruzzo cuisine. The location is charming, well-maintained, and welcoming, with limited seating. The menu features a few well-prepared dishes and a wine list featuring local specialties. The food is excellent, with just the right portions. The service is excellent, handled with care and attention. The bill is in line with the amount eaten.
Thank God for the Google maps and reviews, that ww found this gem. All was just amazing. Food, staff, parking, would come back always. Just reserve in advance. We called and were told they would be full, luckily, when we came, there was a few free tables.
A small Abruzzese osteria in Cermenate where you can experience and savor the authentic flavors of Abruzzo. The restaurant is small, with dark wood accents and warm colors, and a typical osteria atmosphere. Despite the room being full, the chatter didn't bother me; on the contrary, I found the atmosphere cheerful and warm. The owners and staff are genuine Abruzzese, very helpful and ready to answer questions and provide information about the menu and dishes. The menu is exactly what I prefer: a few dishes, but authentic in tradition and flavor, in keeping with Abruzzo cuisine. The wine selection is interesting. We ordered our first and second courses, trying all the first course options and, of course, continuing with the traditional arrosticini (skewers) with a side of baked potatoes. The first courses are all exceptional: the texture of the pasta, the sauce, and the aromas. Excellent. The arrosticini are equally as tasty, well-cooked, and not stringy. At the table, you'll find homemade, unsalted bread with a small bottle of olive oil. As for the food, I'm completely satisfied. I then ordered a house amaro (from Abruzzo), while my friends at the table tried other amaros (the gentian was very fragrant and delicious) and coffees. I'll be back to try the appetizers (excellent choices) and certainly the other main courses and desserts. The price is in line with the quality offered.
Very nice experience. Arrosticini were very good, juicy tasty and flavorful. Pizza dolci also really nice. A/C inside so it was fresh during this hot day. The house red wine was also very fresh and not too heavy. We also had lam, sausages and bruschette, I can only recommend the place.
UPDATE 06/2022 It's always a pleasure to dine here; the quality remains unchanged even after years! Unfortunately, they no longer make pizza, which is a problem if you're having a group of friends who don't eat lamb. The family-run business hasn't changed, and that's a good thing; it was excellent before and still is! The only difference I found was the charcuterie board, which seemed a bit overpriced for its price... I hope to return soon!! FIRST REVIEW 2017: This pizzeria and restaurant is truly a must-try! I learned about it through word of mouth, and I must say it far exceeded my expectations! I think it's been open for a year, no more, and it offers typical Abruzzo cuisine, the best Abruzzo cuisine! It's entirely family-run, and everyone is very kind and friendly. Everything is made by them, from the bread to the lamb skewers (they deliver the meat from Abruzzo and prepare each skewer by hand), right down to the chocolate cake baked to order (a 12-minute wait). Here's what I tasted: APPETIZER - Cured meats (raw ham, various types of salami) - Bruschetta (lard, pâté, olives, eggs and peppers, tomatoes) - Fried focaccia with raw ham (2 per portion; I'd been told they were more or less like fried gnocco, but they're actually much larger and quite filling!) - A cheese platter (a niche dish, a little pricey but excellent) with jams and truffle honey FIRST COURSE - A truly unique first course, fresh pasta (Sagne Abruzzesi), quite large and thick, strictly homemade, topped with truffle, porcini mushrooms, and walnuts (delicious, I'm still licking my lips just thinking about it) MAIN COURSE - Grilled lamb skewers (sold individually; I only ate 8 because I was bursting!) SIDE DISH - French fries (I didn't try them, but they said they were Good!) DESSERTS - Chocolate cake (with a warm dark chocolate center) with vanilla ice cream (I tried this, I didn't order it... but it was delicious!!) CONCLUSION In our eagerness to try something new, we overdid it a bit, but everything—I repeat, everything—was delicious! We'll definitely be back to try other dishes in more depth (and we'll definitely try the arrosticini again, they're a constant source of inspiration!), including the dessert made on a pizza base (made like a focaccia) with ricotta cheese, white and dark chocolate shavings, and rum drizzled on top using a vaporizer. I highly recommend it! ..I forgot, the price was average; for 8 of us, we spent €29 each, but that included water (I think at least 5 bottles) and house wine... and I repeat, we overdid it with the quantities!!

Osteria Rifugio d'Abruzzo is the perfect place for those seeking a genuine, rustic dining experience. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, instantly immersing you in Abruzzo's culinary traditions. The service is attentive and friendly, with the staff able to recommend the daily specials. I tried the guitar-shaped pasta with lamb sauce, a truly flavorful dish, and the braised beef, cooked to perfection. Even the desserts, like the ricotta tart, are a true delight. The prices are excellent for the quality and generous portions. If you're looking for traditional, rustic cuisine, prepared with passion, Rifugio d'Abruzzo is an excellent choice.

I'll start by saying that I'm not crazy about the food, but overall I can't say I had a bad meal. Sure, if the sauces had been less watered down, and the dishes in general less greasy, I would have given it five stars. The sausages and arrosticini are excellent. The service is friendly and attentive. The only major flaw is that the restaurant, housed in a modern building, is very noisy. The decor also doesn't create the rural atmosphere one would expect. In any case, recommended.
A small restaurant in the center of Cermenate. A few well-spaced tables allow you to enjoy a quiet evening. The menu features traditional Abruzzo dishes; few but well-executed. Prices are fair, and the wine list also features local labels. The service is courteous and professional. I believe it's only open in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. Recommended.
