First time here and it did not disappoint. Recommend this restaurant to all visiting chicago

Came here for my 50 th birthday dinner and let me tell you the food was amazing, lamb chops , spinach, salmon and oysters are a must try . The service is amazing I give them 5 stars ⭐️ because everyone was amazing plus we had the whole to ourselves. It was very nice .

This place has been pinned in my Want To Go for a few months and I took restaurant week as my opportunity. I got lychee martini/ Delaware oysters/ filet mignon with sautéed broccolini/ ny cheesecake from the restaurant week menu, totaling around $125 after tax/20% surcharge etc. Becky is SO well versed in the menu and was able to offer really valuable suggestions as I’m an oyster newbie. You can tell she cares about what she does. It felt very neighborly for someone to come in and literally greet her by name from the front door. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is phenomenal and the hospitality is incredible. The meal was great but tbh I think I’d come back just for Becky!

Very intimate and romantic atmosphere. My wife and I had reservations in Valentine’s Day and it was a perfect way to start our evening. They offer a coat check service for $3 and a parking pass for zone #1677 for $5 which helps you contest tickets from the Chicago parking authority. We started off with martinis and the SOUTHERN FRIED OYSTERS and the NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER. The fried oysters were light and flavorful and they pair it with a sauce that reminds me of a spicy ketchup. The clam chowder was standard and it prepared our palates for the entrees. We also tried the Chicago sushi roll which consisted of Bigeye tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cucumber, avocado, topped with spicy mayo.DELICIOUS! Next we ordered the GRILLED COMBO which allowed us to try 2 of each style from the grilled oysters menu. My favorite was the FIRECRACKER and I would also recommend the COH. After that we ordered from the raw bar. We tried APHRODITE and then CUPID’s ARROW. Phenomenal. To end the night, we ordered another round of martinis. 🥂Cheers to the Chicago oyster house for great customer service and delicious oysters!

Disclosure I was here for business so didn't pay, but can easily rate the service and good. Service was great, seemed like it was always easy to get someone without them seeming over the top. The food was awesome, had some naked cowboy and one other type of oyster, cold, clean and ready to go. Calamari had a great crust. Also had the lobster tail which was really good, highlight was the oysters though. Great cocktails also.

OMG! Chicago Oyster House located in the Souh Loop area has the best oysters! Both fresh and grilled! So delicious! For the fresh/raw oysters we got the Delaware Bay, Naked Cowboy and Rappahannock. For the grill oysters, we got the ICHI(jalapeño, scallions, ginger and zesty soy) The sushi was also great! And I love their lychee martini!

My husband and I had our 10 year anniversary dinner here. Typically we always go to the same place we had dinner at 10!years from this date, but this night we decided on something different. The service was great and to our anticipation, the service and the meal turned out absolutely fantastic and they set even us at a special table . If your looking for an intimate setting this place is totally recommend.

EXCELLENT from the time we sat down. Oysters on point. Spring rolls were delicious and sea bass cooked to perfection. The martini selection was fun and tasty. So glad we popped in!

Steak and seafood in an upscale dining atmosphere. I found the dessert menu a bit predictable and uninteresting, but the main courses, appetizers, and sides are solid and well executed.

Sushi tasted very fresh, service was great, and the atmosphere was really cozy.

I absolutely love this place! Every time we go to Chicago we always have to go here. The oysters and sushi are always fresh. It’s nice and elegant inside and all the waiters/waitresses are exceptional. I definitely recommend if your in the area.

Upon arriving here keep in mind that there’s no valet parking so plan to park on the street or take a taxi , lyft, or Uber . We arrived slightly early for our reservation and was welcomed warmly. Our waiter was kind and gracious. The food was amazing My wife’s lobster tail and crab cake was cooked and seasoned to perfection My steak and vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection !! Did 2 work dinner events (10/3 & 10/5). The staff did an excellent job serving our groups on both dates. The seafood is high quality, and prepared well. The private dining room accommodated our groups nicely. The staff was very respectful of our guest speakers, not interrupting or causing distractions during the presentation. The service was truly outstanding.

Excellent restaurant! What a great menu for Restaurant Week. The best selections. Our waiter Natalie did a phenomenal job. Ask for her when you visit the restaurant. So good weee coming back for lunch on Sunday!!!

I give this restaurant 5 stars because of the friendly, attentive service and the delicious fresh seafood. We came here for dinner on the last evening of a 3 day stay in Chicago. We ordered and assortment of fresh and bbq oysters and several entrees. I had the snow crab, which was great. The rest of us had pasta, green salad, clam chowder, lobster roll. Everyone enjoyed their food. The server was friendly and patient, willing to answer all our questions and give us time to decide. I'd recommend this place.

The staff are very welcoming & concise. Ordering was very easy, and the food came out quite briefly. Everything was cooked wonderfully; the COH & Rockerfeller grilled oysters are definitely notable favorites. Lemon sours & Prosecco were quite refreshing to enjoy alongside the oysters. 10/10 experience, I highly recommend. A special, honorable mention to our server, Natalie! Her service was exceptional, & her patience is greatly appreciated.

We had an amazing experience at Chicago Oyster House! We were at McCormick Place for Holiday Showcase and came here on whim. What a great whim! Started out with some amazing fresh oysters. We also had some great sushi rolls. The atmosphere was great but surprisingly had more locals than convention attendees for the location. We loved our server. The service here is very homey and made us feel like I was at home. I highly recommend and can't wait to come back.

Grilled oysters are pretty good and the truffle fries. Lamb Chops are good. Service staff kd very nice and atmosphere lovely.

Anybody that’s going here to eat should know if you’re gonna be spending around $75 per person. We were surprised that on the menu it says automatic 20% fee added. It took around 45 minutes to receive our appetizers and then another 45 minutes to receive our main meal. The food was good & staff was friendly. They were very busy due to the Elton John concert and checked with each table to see if they were in a rush (to get to the concert). That was thoughtful but may have caused our extreme wait since we were not attending the concert. The food was very good.

Cute little restaurant near McCormick place, a short walk from the Hyatt Regency where we are staying for the weekend. Solid cocktails and entrees. We enjoyed both the Blackened Mahi Mahi and the Ribeye. Friendly servers and staff in general. A bit on the pricey side for what was served, but well prepared. All in all, I would recommend for anyone looking for a pleasant meal and seafood.

The food was really amazing, however I do have some questions..? We came in as a party of two, and we got automatically service charged 20%. I mean to some extend I get it, we just ate oysters- so it’s a lot of work but 20% is crazy. I work in a food industry place too, and we only do service charge if it’s parties 5+ AND the servers cook for you! At most we charge 18%.

The clam chowder was excellent . The pork chop was perfectly cooked snd seasoned. Always a great and delicious experience .

Me and my daughter was here last night. I honestly believe the oysters are imitation. I compared them with “Half Shell Restaurant” you can tell the difference. I also ordered a French 75 and I had to send it back because it was not a French 75. Overall I will not be back it was my first time.

Gumbo and tuna poke were amazing. The fresh oysters we decent. The shrimp pasta was avg. Needed more depth and a bit of thickness to the sauce that was missing.

Valentine Day was a mess. Long waits and overbooked. Appetizers took over a hour to come out, no explanation. They were starting to blame the customers for long waits. No accountability. I recommended this place to a few ppl that night, only to be embarrassed. I expect more.

This place is way overpriced. Drinks were too high. The service is excellent but the food was subpar. I love to try new restaurants but I left here feeling robbed and unsatisfied

Went for Valentines Day, reservation for 730, checked in at 7pm to and went to park, we weren't seated until 830 and didn't get our appetizer until 915.. food not until 10pm! They were clearly overbooked and told people its $25 per person if you decide to leave.. for the prices the food isn't worth it.. they oysters were ok but I expected more for what they charge.. this was my 1st time there.. I don't see myself returning on a holiday at prime time..

We came for Valentines dinner and we sat for over an hour and a half without getting our appetizers and only being asked 1 time if we needed another round of drinks. We also had to send our steak back due to it being under cooked and cold in the middle. Unfortunately we will not be returning, and we’re super disappointed.

We had an 8:00 PM reservation on Valentine’s Day and arrived at 7:55 PM, but weren’t seated until 9:15 PM over an hour wait with a reservation. We were also told we would be charged a $25 per person cancellation fee if we chose to leave, despite the delay being on the restaurant’s end due to clear overbooking. We didn’t receive our food until around 10:30 PM. They added a Valentine’s Day fee claiming they would provide something special for the table, which ended up being six rose petals. The food was disappointing: Oyster platter was mid at best Surf and turf steak was ordered medium but came out well done, and the single shrimp was underwhelming. The jambalaya arrived cold. For the price point, long wait, added fees, and poor execution, this was not worth it. Very disappointing experience.
