Our family had a wonderful dinner here tonight. The incredibly handsome tattooed waiter was fantastic. The Rosso Diavolo pizza was just the right amount of spicy, as was our waiter. The grilled vegetable platter was hearty, just like our waiter. The pistachio pizza was to die for, and so was our waiter. And the only thing smoother and sweeter than the tiramisu was our waiter. Come for the food, come back for the tattooed hunk.
I came into town visiting for the weekend and my friends who lived here took me here. We sat outside as a weather was nice. The outside area is in the parking lot and you get the occasional car exhaust and loud engines driving by but the atmosphere was still relaxing. There’s limited parking available in the strip center and some parking free parking on the street. We got the pizza with the sausage and mushrooms and it was fantastic. It tasted so good. The waiter was very friendly and attended to our table. The pizza was so good. We got one to go for later. The espresso martini was very good as was the limoncello martini. We made a reservation on open table and got there and was seated with no weight. The inside was a bit crowded. Definitely will go back for the pizza again.
This place is GEMS Plural!! real Italian pizza the dough is perfect, the ingredients are natural and Italians 100%... also the cooking is on point and for Someone who wants a pizza this is a real gift. We stopped in Saturday this place was super busy as it should be for delivering this amazing quality. The best is that they have hot oil you can drizzle on your pizza mmmm.... make sure you ask for it! The Hot oil is also good to make a small plate of Parm and oil to dip your crust mmmm... man my mouth is watering writing this! 100% recommend!
Wow! Forno Rosso is an authentic Italian experience, and it’s making me look forward to my trip to Italy later this year. They won best Neopolitan style pizza, and it’s obvious why. The Ortolana and Margherita pizza were delicious. We also got the Bruschetta app, and *chefs kiss* - Natalia was a great server and the GM was kind enough to stop by. We talked all about the pizza oven, as I was very familiar with the brand after a pizza convention in Atlantic City. He was sweet enough to bring us pistachio cannolis that were easily the best I’ve ever had! Everything is imported from Italy, from the Caputo flour to the lemon tea beverages. They offer cappuccinos for dessert that pair perfectly with the cannoli. 5 stars for Forno Rosso!
Forno Rossi truly has the best wood-fired pizza around. We ordered the Margherita and the Pizza Tartufo—both were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. We feel so lucky to have such a gem of a place nearby. Highly recommend!
We came here to celebrate two of our friends' birthday. There were six of us and they were able to seat us right away even without reservation. The pizza we ordered were fabulous. They were so tasty and the crust are beautifully charred, you can tell they were baked in a wood-burning oven. We also ordered arancini, the filling is so flavorful while crispy on the outside. We also loved rigatoni with short ribs that we ordered. The sauce made the pasta dish special! The deep fried calamari was lightly breaded and delicious. The chocolate lava was heavenly! I could taste the chocolate but still not too sweet. The service was great, we didn't feel rushed even though the place was starting to get crowded before we left. So overall, I highly recommend this place.
Such a wonderful restaurant! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you would like to taste a real italian pizza and food at a fantastic place, this is the right location! We are so satisfied with everything like delicious food, attentive staff and great atmosphere! Go and visit this place as soon as possible!
This place is awesome! The pizza, appetizers, and cocktails are excellent! Really good service! The ingredients they use are so fresh. Probably the freshest marinara/red sauce I have ever ever had. I’ve never been to Italy, but I imagine the food tasting like this; very light, refreshing, and delicious. Highly recommend! Parking is a little tough but luckily there is street parking not far away.
This is a certified napoletana pizzeria that provides classic Naples-style wood-fire pies. And this was amazing!! Everything here was fresh and extremely flavorful. Started with their grilled seafood of shrimp, octopus and squid (grigliata di pesce) on a bed of arugala with balsamic vinagrette. The octopus and squid was charred perfectly and had a slight briney quality, similar to the time had fresh seafood off Mykonos in Greece. The tartness of the arugala and bright acid from the vinagrette complimented the char and smokey seafood (including big plump shrimp, perfectly grilled). The star was the rosso diavolo, with that hot soppressata!! The mozzarella and the puffy crust really brought out the flavor. It is a nicely hot salume antipasto, but added a bit of hot oil to kick it up a bit. This is quite a gem and its out far North outskirts of city near Norridge. Worth a trip up there and had very friendly staff and quick service.
We literally started eating before I got some pics in. The presentation and the choice of ingredient combinations were amazing: we couldn't wait, lol! The crust was so tender yet crispy; this is the best pizza I've ever eaten. Also tried the gluten-free dough, and it was delicious also. The waitstaff were friendly and professional. I can't wait to go back :)
You don’t get Neapolitan Pizza everywhere, and I definitely wasn’t expecting it in Elmwood Park. The pizza was really good, and they know how to do Margherita Pizza. I also had some good Fritto Misto, which had good squid/calamari but the octopus wasn’t very tender. The service was good, and our server gave great recommendations! The atmosphere is fancier than the other restaurants in the area, and their massive oven is visible in the back corner of the restaurant. I was sharing and paid $23. Great restaurant that I definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
We went for lunch on Sunday, our server was Teddy, he was very friendly and helpful. Great customer service. Food was fast and delicious. Very traditional, cooked on wooden oven. He was also so kind to give us recommendations and to explain the main concept of the restaurant. It’s also a certified traditional Italian restaurant. Atmosphere is also great, quiet and pleasant. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Looking forward to come back soon. Thanks. Pd. Wine selection was excellent as well. And you can pick to either have your meal indoors or outdoors.
Food is so good. Fresh and delicious. Pizza hand made and prepared very fast. So delicious and tasty. One of the best pizza I ever trued. Place is good. Restaurant is cleen and everything looks great. People who came here is so relax and in good mood. Pizzeria is always busy this is good because when you see a lot off people this means this restaurant is good. I live in neighborhood so one time on month I am going there and always is good. Stuff is always with smile and friendly. Pasta is good too, but donuts is amazing too. Very good place for chill and relaxing. They have a outdoor table for seating and eat. Like five or 6 tables but ok, always have a space. Restaurant is big too, and you can watch how they make a pizza. Sea food is great too. Calamari, octopus and rest of the sea food is very tasty and delicious. But for me pizza is the best in this restaurant. All my recommendations for this place!
Strong essences are kept in small bottles. Its exactly what I can say about Forno Rosso Pizzeria. I went there for the first time on Saturday with my friends. Pizza is delicious, excellent service and even if it was busy everything was fast and tasted great! Thanks for server who was very nice to us and recommended us good shots for digestion!!! It was very nice and we really had a great time there. WE’LL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
Never a disappointment, great food great service and my wife loves the Strawberry Basil Martini from here. I would recommend this place 100% of the time. Had to go back 1 more time before the end of the year. They has this pizza on special and it was absolutely delicious. Pair it with a strawberry basil martini and have yourself a great night.
Very friendly staff and exceptional food! I had the tartufo pizza and it smelled so great when it was brought out, I almost forgot to get a picture because I was so excited to try it! It was fantastic! The crust was crisp out the outside and tender inside, exactly the way you want it to be! Try the house made spicy olive oil with the crust, but try a little bit on the side first because it does have a bit of a kick! I hope to visit again soon!
Great real Italian taste in Chicago! My respects to the owners for such a place, where people can enjoy Napoletana pizza! I like it, and will be back for more. Definitely recommended to visit while in Chicago!
The star of this pizza show was the oil and the pizza crust. It's like you've got to eat the pizza just to get to the crust so you can dip it in the oil. The oil is heat with no spice. It's magical. The pizzas themselves where excellent. But the oil! Wow! Unlocked a new taste sensation.
A very large Italian menu! The neopolitan pizzas here are amazing 🤩 we tried the pizza margherita, vegetarian maize pizza (without ham), and the vegetarian pizza with eggplant (I think it was called Siciliana). So fresh and delicious tasting, with obviously fresh ingredients. We also had tiramisu which took a long time to arrive, but it was delicious. I look forward to going back soon for the other pizzas!
Hidden gem tucked away in a small strip mall. I'd never noticed it before, we're glad Google suggested it. Our server (Battle) was very friendly and knowledgeable. The owner/manager walked around making sure everyone was doing all right. The pizza (Margarita w/sausage) was delicious, we also had the freshest Bruschetta I've had in quite some time. This will definitely be our pizza spot from now on. 👍🏽
Came here with a friend on a Saturday and enjoyed this place overall. We’re there close to 2 hours for dinner and it was not only packed, people kept coming in, so you definitely need a reservation! The waitress showed great customer service. The place seems clean, but definitely needs more space and maybe a little more decor. As far as food, everything that we ordered was fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Calamari Alla Griglia, char grilled calamari was delicious. Chopped salad was really good. Bufalina pizza was pretty good! Would be even better, if they offered fresh bread with oils and parmesan while people wait for their meals. Parking lot is packed, so can be very tricky to find a spot. Kid friendly. Will definitely recommend this spot and might try out west loop location and come back here as well!
The best pizza I’ve ever tried in Chicago. Lava cake is my new obsession; it’s so good. I’m so glad that I live near this place.
After hearing about the authentic Neapolitan pizza at Forno Rosso, I had to stop in to try it out. I ordered the "Bufalina" pizza (pictured) and it truly was delicious. The pizza was every bit as authentic and flavorful as a real Neapolitan pizza. All of the ingredients were super tasty and fresh. My only regret was that there wasn't more of it! Truly great pizza. And, the pizza was served with a bottle of their own "sweet and spicy" sauce which also lived up to its billing. The staff was also terrific at Forno Rosso, they made a wonderful meal that much more enjoyable. I would very highly recommend Forno Rosso for authentic Neapolitan 🍕🍕🍕 pizza!
Amazing place where actual Italian pizza is served. Great service, great food, fantastic atmosphere. Recommend to everyone, especially for those who think domino's and pizza hut serves delicious authentic pizzas 😂 Drink menu is really nice as well. My go to place from now on ☺️👍
Forno Rosso is my favorite Pizzeria. I been to both locations and they do not disappoint. The pizzas, the service and everything else is amazing.
Visiting Chicago for the weekend and staying just up the road from Forno Rosso, decided to give it a try and glad I did. I was stationed in Italy for several years and fell in love with truly great pizza and I'm happy to say that Forno Rosso is doing it right! I sat at the bar as I was solo and Patrick was attentive and welcoming. I had a nice glass of wine and the Diavola pizza with gorgonzola and drizzled pepperoncini oil and it was delicious! Dough was properly fermented and crust had a great crunch and sponginess, like it supposed to. It was cooked to perfection in their wood fired oven. Spoke with the owner, Rich, and let him know how much I enjoyed eating at his place. Definitely would eat there again.
I have came to this restaurant multiple times now on several different occasions and each time I’ve had an amazing time . The food is fantastic highly recommended.staff is very attentive I do wish the calamari linguine was a regular on the menu because it is absolutely delicious! Will be back many more times
True Neapolitan Pizza!!! Fresh and delicious ! Ricky makes the best Dirty Vodka Martini (confirmed) And for ladies Lambrusco Pizzas is just delicious Mais is my favorite one with prosciutto cotto and 🌽. Buretta appetizer must try.
I went there today for the first time to celebrate my birthday. It was a very pleasant experience. The pizza is very good and does taste like a pizza from Napoli. It was a very nice surprise. I find it odd that they add pecorino romano to margherita and ortolana is with artichoke and mushrooms instead of eggplant and zucchini. Nevertheless the pizza taste good. Way better than Rosso Pomodoro. The pizza buffalina tastes authentic. Both manager and waitress were much kind. I definitely recommend, and will be back soon.
Authentic Italian food. Excellent food. Rigatoni Alla Vodka unbelievable
Wow! The pizza was amazing! Everyone at my table loved the pizza. I had the Tre Carne pizza. It’s definitely at the top of my list for favorite pizzas. I’ll be bringing my wife here the next time that were in Chicago together.
Wow 👌 Best Pizza 🍕 I've had in a really long time. Ordered the Pizza Diavolo with grilled calamari for an appetizer. Both were so fresh and flavorful. Even their lemon water was really good. You can see the large fire 🔥 oven baking your pizza which is pretty cool. The only thing I would change is adding more leather cushioned seating instead of hard seating for those of us prone to low back pain or anyone that may be disabled, but each table does provide at least one leathered softer chair for comfort. I'll be going again soon. This place is definitely top notch!
The food is delicious and tastes authentic. I met the owner and he was kind and accommodating, would definitely recommend coming here! The margherita pizza is great and the espresso martini is one of the best I’ve had.
Great Italian food like in Italy. Staff is fun and experienced. Indoor and outdoor seating for summer days. Clean inside and out. Owner always comes to your table to thank you and ask you how you meal was.
Must emphasize how great food quality, friendly staff and owner's greeting, this Forno Rosso:3719 N Harlem Chicago location. Have been enjoying this high quality restaurant for years and was totally honored and so lucky to knew this place. Soon, we are moving to Las Vegas next two month, we gonna miss this food so much. We get Ortolana(Veggie Pizza: Fresh Veggies, not salty, good taste crust.... just soooo good.) and Locale pizza, so good as well, not salty sausage yummy. we also enjoy, fried calamari, fried clean oil and so soft, I am rating the best calamari, softness and clean taste and Chicago land and over sea. we also get Polipo Ella Griglia(Grilled Octopus) so soft unreliable taste. Chop salad; so fresh and 5 star salad better than any other restaurant ever tasted including abroad. Freshly made cannoli, 5 star pastry, highly recommended. BTW, 12/3/25 to 12/10/25, we travelded Rome, Florence, Venice and Verona, Italy, tell you what, Forno Rosso located at 3719 N Harlem, the BEST ITALIAN restaurant in the world. We are so thank you to all staff and owner, been so happy all these years and wish good luck to this business forever.
The coal-fired method truly gives the pizza a rich, robust flavor. I especially loved the thin crust—it was perfect. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was expertly prepared. The classic Margherita pizza here is exceptional. The use of a coal fire imparts a unique, robust flavor that elevates the entire dish. The crust was beautifully thin, just how I like it. You can tell everything is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, resulting in a truly satisfying pizza.
Forno Rosso is hands-down one of the best authentic Neapolitan pizza experiences in Chicago. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the comforting aroma of wood-fired dough and the warmth of genuine Italian hospitality. The service is attentive and friendly without ever feeling rushed, and every dish — from the perfectly blistered Margherita to the rich, velvety tiramisu — tastes like it was made with care and passion. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, with modern touches that still honor true Italian tradition. You can feel the heart of Naples in every bite. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Verdict: Forno Rosso delivers an unforgettable slice of Italy — impeccable service, stunning flavors, and a dining experience that keeps you coming back for more.
Great gluten free pizza crust. Amazing selections. Knowledgeable staff regarding allergens. Service was fantastic. We made a reservation for our party of 7 and we were promptly seated.
The food is unbelievable, best gnocchi ever!!! Pistachio pizza is worth traveling for. Grilled calamari a winner. Only complaint bathrooms, a little rough, but besides that it’s a great spot.
The bufalina here was my first Neopolitan-style pizza. It had a thin base with a fairly thick crust that was wonderfully chewy and crispy. I could tell that the pizza was cooked well from the leopard spots on the crust and the delicious slight smoky taste. The toppings were simple but the quality was evident, especially in the rich, creamy mozzarella di bufala.
A convention brought me into Chicago. This was a great little place tucked away into a plaza off a main road. We were greeted and seated well. In for a quick lunch and it did. It disappoint. Dishes ordered: Calamari- super tender calamar this was not from frozen. Lightly dusted and flash fried to perfection. Execution with calamari is tricky. They were on point. Light, airy, just the right amount of chew for mouth feel. Excellent. The marinara sauce was piping hot which is a commonly overlooked detail. Again on point. Pizza with eggplant (added mushrooms) Beautiful neopolitano pizza . Crust was thin with the perfect thicker crust. The charred spots which give it the pleasant bitterness was there. The chew was there, the lightness of the sauce , cheese was fresh. Gorgeous pizza. I especially loved the fresh basil leaves tucked into the sauce. Served with chili oil which is a must. Great service , great location. Will def be back.
I recently visited this Napoletana pizzeria and had an amazing experience! The pizzas were absolutely delicious, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed them. The frito misto was a delightful surprise, bursting with flavors. Make sure to save room for dessert, as they have some amazing options. However, one small issue we encountered was that the window to the patio remained open, causing the smell of cigarettes to drift inside, even though we were seated indoors. Additionally, some of the staff members weren't particularly friendly. Overall, it's a great place for delicious food, just keep in mind the minor downsides.
First time trying out Forno Rosso, and we were delightfully surprised. Called in and ordered for pick-up. Was greeted over the phone by a very nice and enthusiastic person who promptly took down my order, which was then ready at the time allotted for pick up. Ordered a Margherita pizza and a Locale pizza. The Locale pizza was phenomenal. Very savory and earthy with its house-made sausage and gorgeous mushrooms. The Margherita was very good with its sweet and tangy sauce and aromatic mozzarella, but my sole gripes would be that there was not nearly enough basil on the pie for it to be even called a Margherita and the middle of the pie puddled a bit so the cheese slipped off when picked up after cutting the pizza into slices. Both pizzas were a tad bit on the burnt side for our liking and maybe could have been pulled about 45 seconds earlier from the oven, but despite that, they were still excellent pizzas. The crust on both was wonderful. Bready yet airy and chewy yet light. Tremendous! Overall, we were happy with our first experience with Forno Rosso and will definitely be ordering from them again. We're looking forward to giving their other red and white pizza selections a try. So come on over and check them out. Cheers!
First time trying. I would give this spot a 4.5 if it were an option. Parking is available, but a little tight. Dining room has a bit of an odd layout due to the building footprint. Let's face it though, what matters? The pizza! We've dined all over the city and have tried more than our share of pizza in Chicago. If you are looking for great Neopolitan style pizza, look no further. We tried a red and a white variety and both were excellent. The crust had a nice crisp to it and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. They have good appetizer and salad options as well. I ordered a cappuccino and they even knocked that out of the park. We didn't need it, but ordered the Limoncello Flute dessert. Nice and tart! We'll be back for sure and will recommend to others.
Pizzas are really good here - they know what they are doing. Atmosphere could use a bit of work; why must we be surrounded by TVs all the time? How about some nice Italian music in the background of our family conversations.
The service could definitely use some improvement, and the drinks could be better too. The pizza is pretty good, but the carbonara pizza was a very disappointing. The tiramisu is worth getting, it’s a real treat!
UPDATE JUN 2025 So bad service, they didn’t want to let us sit on patio and we came 8:50pm and they work till 10pm , they been so rude , no water on our table, everything was just so bad experience on what we are not used since we are visiting this place almost every month. But this was definitely our last time!!! I got recommendations for this place from my Italian friend, he said this is the closest to famous Italian pizza in wood fire oven! And we are amazed by taste and service! Everything is great! Thanks
Terrible experience — completely unacceptable behavior from the owner I had an awful experience at this restaurant. I ordered a pizza that arrived completely burnt and tasted extremely bitter. After just a few bites, it left a bad aftertaste and made me feel unwell. When I politely informed the owner about the issue, instead of addressing the concern, he became extremely rude, shouted at me, and even used offensive language. His behavior was aggressive and unprofessional. I asked him to call the police if he believed I was in the wrong, but he refused to do so. Given the poor quality of the food and the owner’s unacceptable attitude, I refused to pay for the dish. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in the U.S., and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. Absolutely not recommended.
I ordered the margherita pizza and it is the worst Pizza I have ever had. It had three pieces of Basil on it and it was paper thin. PLUS, part of it was burnt. It cost $20 and it was a 10 or 12-in pizza. By the time I paid for delivery and fees it was $30. I cannot express how bad this pizza was. I don't care what the reviews say I will never step foot in their restaurant after this experience. I would love to be able to post a picture of the pizza just to show the 3 pieces of Basil that was on the entire Pizza.
The price on their google online menu is not accurate if not a flat out lie. I got a pizza thinking it’s ganna be 16-18 dollars. It ended up costing nearly 25 dollars for a 12 inch take out pizza. That’s just ridiculous. They need to be honest
