Went to the bar and got a drink and also decided to get an order of their meatballs appetizer which is very delicious! Had a Martini and an Old Fashioned and while they were both great drinks, the Old Fashioned was out of this world. Service was great and the ambience was too. Will definitely come back!
My date and I visited Lyra as part of Restaurant Week 2026. I had never been to this restaurant but was excited to try it because I enjoy Greek food. Lyra delivered an amazing experience - from the food to the ambiance to the service. Everything was top notch! The food: 1. Saganaki - impressed they lit it table side and it was not too salty. 2. Grilled Octopus - well seasoned and a generous portion. 3. Tuna tartar - tuna was fresh and perfect level of heat. 4. Greek salad - no lettuce, a large chunk of feta, and a nice hit of acidity. 5. Deconstructed pistatsio - it has a deeply flavorful bechamel sauce and filled me up. 6. Alaskan halibut - light, flaky, and the exact counter point to the pistatsio (because my date was looking for a lighter entree). 7. Orange syrup cake - nice citrus and light (much needed after eating the pistatsio). 8. Chocolate cake - rich, decadent, and dense (paired well with my date’s fish entree). The dining room is elegant, comfortable, and imbued with a golden glow from their choice of fabrics and lighting. And the ambiance is lively and energetic. We had an absolutely great waiter who was prompt and efficient but never pushy. I had no problems ordering from the Restaurant Week menu, the “golden hour” menu, and their regular menu. If you do go during the “golden hour” (their happy hour), then you will probably get a better deal on their cocktails than ordering the drink pairing. You should absolutely try this restaurant for Restaurant Week.
This was the first time I have come here. I have a greek boyfriend and I was reluctant to go because of the high prices. I have to say that this is a perfect place for a special occasion and the dishes were so incredible. The dishes had a twist and modern take on traditional dishes like the pasticchio and the loukoumades donuts with 4 types of sauces. The grilled Octopus was cooked to perfection and not overcooked. The place was full and the ambiance was lively. The mexcal drinks were so good, I had 2 and I am not a drinker. The potato side dish was yummy!
Me and my husband went for my birthday. Very romantic atmosphere. The service was very attentive. Loved the table side meals. The food was delicious. I would recommend the lamb gyros and the deconstructed pastitsio.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and our server, Nicole, was outstanding. She offered perfect recommendations and attentive service, making our visit truly enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
We enjoyed the Valentines Day menu which was extensive. The lamb was especially tasty! The servers were very coordinated and kind.
Really nice upscale modern Greek inspired restaurant in Chicago. We paid a visit here on our travels through Chicago and were pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend this place as it has above average food and service with a really nice upscale vibe as well.
This was our second visit - both were incredible experiences. The vibe is fire here! Awesome staff - so friendly and accommodating. Food is delicious and drink selections are lovely. Whether you are getting bottle service (first visit - pricey), or just grabbing dinner and drinks (second visit - very reasonable), give Lyra a visit!
Being my first time in Chicago, I quickly learned one thing about dining out make your reservations early because restaurants book up fast. My wife, a friend, and I were craving Italian, but decided to switch it up and try something a little different without breaking the bank. We wanted to stay in the $50 to $100 range, and that’s how we came across Lyra. The location was perfect right in a lively district filled with restaurants and bars. The area felt safe, clean, and vibrant. Lyra’s ambience was on point with dim lighting, good music, and a cozy, welcoming vibe. Now, I’ll admit, we may have caught our server on a rough day. I won’t go into details, but what truly stood out was how Isaac, the manager, went above and beyond to make up for it. One thing I’ve learned you can’t judge an entire restaurant based on one server’s off day, especially when the overall experience makes up for it. As for the food absolutely fantastic. We started with the pita bread paired with feta fire cheese and a tangy tikki sauce, which I highly recommend. If I had one critique, it would be that the pita serving was small compared to the large bowl of dip (maybe it’s the San Diego in me, since I’m used to tortillas always being unlimited). Still, it was delicious. The drinks were solid, and for entrées we ordered the calamari, octopus, and fried goat. For our main . Each dish had its own unique flavor and really impressed us. Lyra did not disappoint when it came to the food. Thanks to Isaac, what started off as an average dining experience turned into a memorable one. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for flavorful, satisfying Mediterranean food that’s not too heavy. Lyra is a must-try when you’re in Chicago.
I celebrated my special birthday here last year and it was absolutely perfect! From the food to the atmosphere, the occasion, and of course the company, everything was wonderful. Loved every bit and every bite!
Lyra is such a great spot in the West Loop! We had the oysters, charred octopus, and ribeye steak, and everything was excellent. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the octopus had amazing flavor with just the right char, and the ribeye was tender, juicy, and cooked just right. The restaurant itself has such a vibrant atmosphere—modern, stylish, and full of energy. Service was professional and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. A good spot for dinner if you’re looking for great food and a lively vibe in Chicago.
Everything was spectacular from the moment I walked thru the door. I had a reservation for outdoor seating but it was too hot out and the hostess was more than happy to accommodate for a high table or a seat at the bar — high table it is. From then on, the service was spot on awesome. I was able to take advantage of the happy hour specials & my server made the effort to come back around one last time before it was over, which was super cool. I ordered the charred octopus & tuna tartare for the main dishes — both were excellent in presentation and taste! The time between my server was checking in on me was perfect as well. Stopped by often, but not too often. The deserts were tempting and I caved easily lol. The warm donuts were great. I loved everything about my experience & I can’t wait to go back.
The perfect setting for any occasion and great location in the west loop! Loved everything here, that Octopus and zucchini chips and that bougaga dessert. Don’t miss their pasta or that Halibut. The vibes and service and bar area are terrific! What an exquisite spot with great Mediterranean energy!
We had an amazing experience! Food and drink were well presented and delicious. Beef cheek was the highlight of my night, if not my month. Mark was an amazing server and Isaac and Clair also contributed to an amazing date night with my girlfriend. We’ll be back :)
First time coming here. Lovely experience. The best part, dessert! Nicole was our server and she provided wonderful service.
Bouzoukia potatoes were out of this world! We had to order twice. Octopus was amazing. Whole branzino very fresh, lemony and delicious. Great atmosphere, tasty drinks, book table ahead especially weekends.
Delicious meal! It was busy so things took a bit longer but I would still definitely go back. The lamb was delicious. Dessert was very tasty. The spicy feta was a hit!
Had an amazing night at Lyra with friends! The party atmosphere is incredible — great energy, great music, and a lively crowd that makes the whole experience feel like a celebration. The food was delicious, the cocktails were on point, and the service kept everything flowing perfectly all night. It’s the kind of place where dinner easily turns into a full night out. If you’re looking for great food with an upbeat, fun vibe, Lyra is the place. We loved it and will definitely be back!
Great food and service , nice ambiance. Server very informative and helpfully . Overall great dinning experience.
We had Nicole and she was an amazing server and it was awesome!! 10/10 will be going back!
This is a late review but we dined here when we were in town during Thanksgiving weekend. This place was highly recommended by a friend The service and ambience is amazing The food was all delicious I don't normally eat lamb but the lamb gyro is probably one of the best lamb dish that I ever had The deconstructed pastitsio was really good but very rich. The calamari and octopus were great too Overall 9/10
This was my first time dining at Lyra and it won't be my last. Everything was superb. The octopus was so delicious as a starter and the Deconstructed Pastitsio was absolutely amazing. Everything was full of flavor and the presentation was appealing. My bartender Andrew was awesome. I was interested in trying something I've never had before. He recommended a drink to me and I couldn't get enough of it. He was also very friendly and attentive whenever I needed something.
I recently dined at Lyra in Chicago and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and attended to our every need with warmth and professionalism. A special mention goes to Isaac, who went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. His attentiveness and genuine care for our group made our evening truly special. Isaac’s personalized service and recommendations added a delightful touch to our dining experience. Thank you, Lyra, for an outstanding evening. We look forward to returning soon!
Our server was very nice and accommodated to me and my friends dietary restrictions very well. She is celiac and i am vegetarian, food was excellent, and atmosphere was lovely.
I honestly didn’t expect this level of quality from a restaurant known more for its club-like atmosphere. We ordered the pasta with crab and the grilled eggplant — both dishes exceeded expectations. I can confidently say the grilled eggplant was the best I’ve ever had.
I love the lamb, even though we didn't order lamb this time! The branzino and the steak are also delicious but no where near the freakin LAMB 🤩🤩🤩🤩
This was our first time here and I have to say it was such a delightful experience! We came to celebrate my fiancés birthday and we all had a great time. Our server George was super kind and attentive and knowledgeable of all the items in the menu, even giving us suggestions. One of our friends is allergic to cinnamon and George was kind enough to replace the ice cream flavor in one of the desserts to accommodate her. The food was beyond delicious! Very much worth the price. 10/10 Definitely recommend coming here!
Lyra is a wonderful Greek restaurant in the Fulton Market area. We had the grilled octopus, the cast iron moussaka and the Greek lemon chicken. All were delicious! Our server Nicole H was excellent and very attentive! We highly recommend this place.
Phenomenal!! Martha (bartender) was my server! She was the absolute best! Amazing personality, great conversation and just genuinely kind and attentive!! I told her I was dining alone and to not worry about me since it was so busy. She was not having that and treated me like a VIP! Honestly, the service was very nice from all of the staff. The food was phenomenal as well. I got this cucumber and tomato salad, gyros and some type of potatoes. Everything was perfection!! The vibe was perfect for a Friday night. It was cozy but not like romantic first date cozy…but more feel good and social cozy. Definitely go!! It’s a lot of food but there was a very nice man that packed it up very neatly and kept my water glass full. I don’t remember his name but he was so kind and welcoming. Just book a reservation and go! You won’t regret it.
Awesome! The food and service were great, and we loved Nicole, the waitress. She was super smart, had a lovely smile, and took amazing care of us.❤️
Lyra was such a cute spot! From the moment you walk in, you're engulfed with beautiful, contemporary decor. Lyra is Mediterranean/Greek cuisine and it didn't disappoint. Our server Zoya was absolutely amazing. She guided our group on how to order--whuch portions were enough for 1-2 person vs 3-4 persons. We ended up ordering a bunch of small plates including the grilled cauliflower, the meatballs, the scallops and crispy calamari. When I tell you, every dish was delicious and so flavorful, it really was! My favorite was the scallop which was served in a shell and covered with breadcrumbs. It may have been one of the most flavorful scallops I had in my life! Lyra is a must go to when in Chicago.
The most surprising dining experience while on our vacation to Chicago. We had planned to eat across the street from Lyra, but that location closed early. We walked in and instantly greeted and seated. The staff were helpful and kind. The food was amazing! Our favorite was the Deconstructed Pastitsio! You must try this dish when dining here. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy!
I visited this restaurant earlier and, unfortunately, had a disappointing service experience, even though the food was great. I shared my honest feedback because I believed the place had potential and simply needed more consistency. A couple of days after posting my review, Stella reached out to me and kindly invited me to return for a complimentary dinner so they could make things right. I appreciated the gesture, and about a month later, I went back with my friend. Our server, Leo, was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. He explained the dishes, offered great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely taken care of. The atmosphere was peaceful and cozy for a weekday evening around 5 PM. Not too crowded, yet pleasantly lively. The service this time was excellent: empty plates were cleared right away, and the staff checked in to make sure everything was good. Someone might think this level of attention was because of my previous review, but I was paying close attention, and the entire staff was equally friendly and professional with every guest. We finally had the chance to try some main dishes and dessert. Everything was delicious, just as expected. The food was great during my first visit as well, but this time the overall experience matched the kitchen's quality. I’m genuinely happy to say that my second visit was very positive, and the restaurant is now on my list of places worth visiting again.
My experience here at LÝRA was amazing with the help of our server, Leo. He made my partner and I very comfortable as soon as we were seated. I admire his knowledge of the menu, the atmosphere of the restaurant here, and his attentiveness. I would give this place a 10/10 and most definitely come back!
My wife and I had an amazing date night tonight. Denise was absolutely wonderful and we felt completely happy with her guidance and attention. She was super professional and very happy to be our server. Our bussers were on their game and it honestly was a perfect night. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and incredible. We will be back!! Oh and Stella was amazing as well!
My husband and I came to Lyra to celebrate our anniversary, and it was such a special night. We were lucky to be served by Victoria, who was absolutely amazing. She was so attentive and thoughtful - without us even asking, she noticed what was missing on the table and brought it right away. She truly made our evening feel extra special. The food was delicious and everything tasted great including the mocktails! We’ll definitely be coming back on a Sunday just for Victoria and the amazing food! Ambience was spectacular as well.
The ambiance was pleasant, service was great (thanks George!), and food was delicious! We went during Golden Hour (their version of happy hour) & got plenty to eat & drink! We ordered oysters, Wagyu beef meatballs, chicken souvlaki, tarama with black caviar & pita (the pita was the best I’ve had, it’s so soft & on the denser side, & you get plenttttty of dip), spanakopitakia, drinks: Paloma, Miza spritz, classic martini. It definitely can be pricey with the Chicago tax & service fees but coming at happy hour was a good balance. Would definitely visit again to try their main menu items!
LYRA serves a modern Greek-inspired menu in a lively & upscale setting. For our business meal, the octopus, ragu pasta, ceviche, and bread spreads stood out with distinct and thoughtful flavors. That said, the tightly packed tables and loud noise made the atmosphere less comfortable, especially for conversation-heavy dinners. Given the premium price point, the overall experience fell a bit fell, and it’s not a spot I’d hurry back to for a personal meal.
The atmosphere was a little too loud for my liking—I felt like I had to yell to have a conversation with my friends and family. That said, the food was really good! I recommend sharing the lamb chops, and the scallops were also great, slightly on the salty side, but the lime balances it out nicely. They have good mocktail options, and the cocktails were amazing. I’d go back, maybe just for a small bite or a drink, then head somewhere else for a full meal.
Greek food is always good, but we think we found the best with LÝRA. The breads & spreads were a perfect start, with each dip winning someone over in our group. We also loved the tuna tartare and wagyu meatballs. For the main, the slow-roasted lamb gyros were hands-down the best we’ve ever had—delicious, tender, and a huge portion.
Delicious meal and drinks at LYRA. Four stars for the food and service because the lamb chops were ordered medium and received medium well and the service was a bit slow. Definitely would come back for another try.
We had a reservation for a weekday dinner and were seated immediately. Service was attentive and friendly throughout our entire meal. The food, despite being quite pricey, was solid. The hummus with charred beets was the perfect balance between the tartness of the hummus, the nuttiness of the pine nuts, and the earthy sweetness of the beets. It came with two delicious, pillowy pita with slightly crispy edges. The problem was we were a party of 3 so it would have been much better if each person had their own pita. Grilled octopus was tender but way too charred and tasted very bitter. The Greek roasted crispy half chicken was excellent: flavorful, juicy, and tender. My friends ordered the lamb chops, moussaka, and baby carrots. I didn't get to try a bite of their food but they both were very happy with what they got.
It was my first time at Lyra and I was not disappointed! The portions were great. The lobster linguine was so flavorful but light. My favorite side was the roasted cauliflower, they were crunchy and had the perfect amount of zest. Service was great too, very attentive!
We enjoyed Lyra for dinner and drinks. The portions are small for the price. Wait staff and drinks were excellent. We’ll be back. There’s a charge if you cancel so make sure to commit to a reservation.
I think this place is highly overrated. It's more of a vibe place then good food. The food is decent but nothing to go home about to. Our table ordered a few appetizers - calamari was super good. I also ordered the gyro. It's kind of build it yourself which was a tad annoying and the gyro meat wasn't your typical gyro meat it was a chunk of meat you have to pull apart to make your sandwhich. They only provided one pita for a ton of meat (lots of meat was a plus) one thing with the meat is it's a bit fatty and in the evening you can't see your food well since they turn the lights down for clubby vibes, so I couldn't navigate the build a sandwhich ordeal. All in all the food is solid but it's way over priced since you are paying for the atmosphere.... Personally the atmosphere wasn't all that either.
The food is always delicious! Be mindful that they have a small dining room in the back of the restaurant that looks like Olive Garden and does not match the vibe of the rest of the restaurant. Two times I’ve had Saturday night 9pm reservations, both times they have tried seating my party in the Olive Garden area; the first time as my party of 2 was leaving the restaurant to go to another restaurant that wouldn’t seat us in the back, the manager reseated us in the main dining space. The second time I added to the reservation to please cancel the reservation if the only seating available was the back room; once again, walked to a table in the back room. This time while leaving the restaurant, my party of 3 was lucky enough to find a table in their outdoor space. In my opinion, the back seating area shouldn’t even exist and takes away from the dining experience. No shade to Olive Garden but for the price point, I want to enjoy my full dining experience, atmosphere and all.
Food was fine but expected more interesting flavors for the price and location. Breads and spreads were disappointing - Armitage ale house does a much better version with fresher tasting bread and more delicious dips. Salad had high quality feta and decently ripe heirloom tomatoes. Zucchini and saganaki were exactly as advertised, but nothing stood out. The pastitsio had 0 cinnamon and 0 tomato. It was a lovely truffle forward creamy pasta dish but no semblance of pastitsio. Had an orange dessert that was probably the highlight of the meal. Service wasn’t great. Saw and spoke with the staff member clearing plates more than our waiter who never asked if we wanted another drink and didn’t bring our check. But what brought the night down was the ambiance. The music is… not what I want for a nice dinner out? We weren’t asked if we wanted to sit in the bar, we were just seated there. But the music got progressively louder and worse after our 8pm reservation started thanks to the DJ in the corner. Totally fine and even fun if you have a separate bar area but when there is no partition and you’re seating diners in the bar with no option to sit elsewhere, it doesn’t work. By 9/9:30 I thought I was in river north after midnight, not an allegedly high end west loop restaurant paying $100+ pp for dinner. For a restaurant called Lýra, I’d recommend ditching the paid DJ until dinner service is over.
A disappointment. It’s really pretty inside, but the food and price point make it an underwhelming experience. I came for restaurant week - not a good deal! Smaller portions even though some items were relatively the same price if added together (ie octopus was cut in half!) Pro: I will say my drink (the Karpouzi) and the service were the highlights. Con: octopus tasted burnt more than anything. Cast Iron Moussaka was so incredibly hot I couldn’t eat it for 10+ min. Was recommended pita bread by our waiter… nothing for dip. Just plain bread so avoid that scam. Go to other better places in Chicago and saving your money!
I visited LÝRA last night with a group of six friends total. When we were seated, the hostess immediately reminded us that our reservation was from 9:00 to 11:00 PM, something we were already aware of since it’s mentioned when you book. The tone felt a bit unnecessary and came off as rude. We finished eating around 10:30 and were ready to ask for the check, but our waiter was busy with other tables, the restaurant was packed, and we completely understood that. At 11:05, however, the hostess came to our table and told us we needed to leave because other guests were waiting. As she was speaking, our waiter arrived with the check. It was awkward and unpleasant, especially given that we hadn’t even had the opportunity to pay yet. To be clear, our waiter was friendly and professional throughout the evening, this wasn’t his fault. The issue was entirely with how the hostess handled the situation. If you expect guests to leave promptly, you should also make sure they’ve been given their check in time. For a meal that totaled over $500, I would have expected more polite and considerate service. Unfortunately, the rudeness at the end of the night left a bad impression. With so many great dining options in Fulton Market that offer both excellent food and gracious service, I can’t recommend LÝRA based on this experience. I won’t be going back and I’ll recommend the same to other friends in Chicago.
I’ve been to Lyra before and had a great experience, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, this time it felt like anything and everything that could have gone wrong did. It started with parking. We had trouble finding street parking and decided to valet. That decision ended up being where the night both started and ended going downhill. Once seated, my wife and I were not served our main courses at the same time. When her steak finally arrived, it was ordered well done but came out medium rare, then was corrected and still came back rare. At that point, since we had another engagement to get to, she gave up on the entrée altogether and just ate the remaining appetizers. While the entrée was removed from the bill, the overall experience was already disappointing. The valet situation made things significantly worse. When we left, our car was still parked exactly where we had originally left it—despite having paid $35 for valet and handing over the keys. Two weeks later, I received a $75 parking ticket in the mail. The photo on the ticket clearly shows the valet kiosk. I contacted Lyra and was told the valet is handled by a third party and that I would need to email them—no phone number, no clear contact, and no direct support from the restaurant. I emailed the names provided and received no response. I called Lyra again asking for a contact number or any additional help and was told there were no phone numbers, no social media contacts, and no listed business info—just names. I was assured they would email me to request the ticket so they could help. That email never came (yes, I checked spam). To avoid additional fees, I ended up paying the ticket myself. What started as a night with minor frustrations turned into a genuinely disappointing experience overall. Given how much I enjoyed previous visits, this one was particularly sad. I hope this feedback helps improve both service coordination and accountability moving forward.
