Good place to eat! Good food and service! We just stopped in for breakfast this morning. Everything was Great!! Food very fresh and very good!! We had the chicharones and pork belly with our breakfast. Wow fantastic. Spicy just the way I like it!! My girl had the Chile Verde. I had the western Omelet. Both were exceptionally good. We will be Happy to eat here again for sure. Staff was very friendly. 👍🏾👍🏾
The owner Carlos and his family are wonderful people the Food and services are always awesome 😁
The best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had! Not only bits of sausage in it, but also bits of bacon and the flavor was amazing!! I also had two eggs with hashbrowns, bacon and sausage and it was delicious too! The service was fast and our waitress was checking on us often. I would highly recommend.
Food was great had the chicken breast good size and veggies seasoned perfectly.
You can tell it's a family owned and operated restaurant. Very attentive service, clean location, good food and fair prices. Would definitely consider eating there again if we're in the area.
Looking for a place to have lunch while traveling. Saw this on our GPS and gave it a try. Had Western Bacon burger with onion rings ($16.99). Wonderful Burger that was huge; could only eat half. Onion rings homemade excellent. Very friendly staff. Would return if in the area again.
We stopped here for breakfast for the first time. Restaurant was clean. The food was very good. Cooked like we wanted. Would definitely come back here again.
Trankis Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that stands out for its delicious cuisine and warm ambiance. The menu features a creative blend of flavors, with standout dishes that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, making recommendations that enhance the meal. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and upscale, making it suitable for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. Overall, Trankis is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in a welcoming setting. Highly recommended
Very friendly, polite service. Accommodates a large group with great service. Waitress and cook very friendly. Been there several times and will definitely return.
Got some lunch with the friends here. Great service great and good food. Got the canelo burger and some soup and both were good. All the friends food looked good as well. Definitely stopping here again!
Chef is amazing! Food is always great everytime we come in...... Everything on the menu is good, but in particular we love their breakfast. Today i got chicken yakisoba which was better than I get at most Asian restaurants and my husband always gets chicken fried CHICKEN which is the best ever!
Something new in town with alot of variety! So many choices on the menu is always nice rather than just the usual. I had the chicken sandwich it was delicious the picture does not do it justice. The atmosphere is nice calm and everyone in there was super friendly we can not wait to go back and try some of the other food items on the menu. I really suggest everyone gives it a try if you are looking for variety.
I love the food is under new ownership and they have new menu but it's really good I tried the French toast for breakfast and it's delicious I really recommend this restaurant.
Stopped by and have some delicious breakfast. Felt and tasted homemade. Recommend. Great service.
Although this restaurant is fairly new on the block and quite secluded on the opposite side of Chowchilla’s busy areas (on the other side of Hwy 99), it’s a authentic Mexican. The young service person I spoke to was hospitable and generous. He mentioned that he designed the entire colorful menu book on his own. Highly recommended that you eat here. Best food and service—closest to real human kindness you will find in these parts of the Valley.
This is one of those hidden gems that offers great food at a good price. I had the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. It was excellent.
The food was amazing. Love the large portions. My son finally felt full on our trip. Will stop here again for sure.

06/24/25 - Traveling North on Hwy 99, looking for a good sit down cafe for breakfast. This popped up on my map search. The reviews were good so we gave it a try. Delicious breakfast! I had the Bacon, Avocado, Cheese omelette. The hash browns were crispy and I enjoyed every bite. My guy had the chicken fried (beef) steak with gravy, he was very happy. Our waitress was very efficient, she didn't seem to enjoy her work but it might have been a bad morning for her. The signs said, under new management, that caused a little concern because we chose to stop after reading past reviews... we were not disappointed. Pulling a small 18' trailer we parked along the curb but there is plenty of parking and areas to turn around on nearby lots.
This place is worth it the food is excellent the service is great we never had a problem and we'll keep going back
I meant to leave a review Saturday night after arriving home, but sleep was more prevalent. On Saturday we were supposed to have gone to the coast for some claim chowder bowels, but like I mentioned we were super tired. We spent part of the afternoon going into the evening deciding on what to eat for dinner. I personally was craving buffalo wings, but my other half was not. I then started craving fried chicken, once again my other half was not. We finally decided on Mario's. Upon driving up to Mario's we noticed the parking lot was full and neither one of us wanted to stop. we started driving away thinking on now what are we going to eat? We started throwing restaurant names out, when i remembered we hadn't been to the newly named restaurant Trakis. My husband was a bit hesitant since he wasn't a big fan when it was under different ownership. Yes my husband tends to be picky. We finally agreed and headed that way. It was a slow night, so no problem getting a booth. Right away I saw they had buffalo wings as appetizers, so those were ordered ASAP. Next the chicken fried steak to satisfy my fried chicken craving and to our surprise the soup of the day was clam chowder! I couldn't believe this place met all my different cravings of the day. I had never left a restaurant feeling so satisfied. Everything was flavorful! The chicken fried steak topped everything though, crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. I loved that it wasn't oily, making one feel less guilty over eating fried food. The portions were perfect, not overly huge or too small. I have nothing negative to say. I hope to go back soon. Highly recommend if craving American home cooked meals.
Absolutely love the service. I would 10/10 recommend, my food always comes out nice and hot. I live in fresno and do the drive every Sunday because it is that good !

Menudo is delish... with pig feet or without. Fruit cup had fresh fruit.
Simple short order/diner fare. My wife enjoyed her BLT and I had the Trankis salad which is just a chef salad branded with the restaurant name. The inside was generic but clean. A little paint touch up and some light decor would go a long way. We are only in town for a family event so I can’t compare it to anything but it seemed to be on par for the general area.
The things we order, was not what they bring, only the churros where fantástico. There was some people screaming on the other side for a minute I stand up and look around for a bar, that's where I was thinking we where. Wife asked no cheese on the food, because medication, she got cheese. I asked for steak and eggs, got no eggs.
Great place for a meal. Steak had more fat than meat lol, but the flavor was great.
This family owned restaurant in California's Central Valley in a farming community in Chowcilla offers authentic Mexican fare prepared by the uncle, the waitresses are a mother and daughter team, and also includes a son and father who helps out as well. The ambiance is fair and decorated with Mexican curtains separating each booth and lots of odds and ends and various other items. sprinkled throughout. The food is pretty good, but not great! I will say that their fried cauliflower cooked in this wonderful tasting macha sauce was to die for. It was nice and spicy and the cauliflower was cooked just right. It's a must try. Yummy!!! However, bad news regarding my hubby's dish of chili verde, while tasty, he crunched down on egg shells. Not good. I think chef uncle must of had a hard night the night before and lost his concentration. I ordered the waffle without the strawberry sauce and when I got my order, what do you think was the first thing I saw? You guessed it, plenty of strawberry sauce. I decided not to send the order back and just scraped off all the strawberry sauce. I also liked the fact that this restaurant had a very good habanero hot sauce which I have never seen at any other restaurant. Would I return to this restaurant in the future? Yes! I think so. It is truly a family owned business that is worth supporting.
Great selection and delicious food, try the birria plate, you won't be disappointed! Beans and rice were flavorful and perfectly cooked, birria was on point!!!😋 My girl loves their strawberry banana french toast, burgers are good and BIG; turkey bacon avocado melt was huge and so, so yummy... Give them a try, lots of new menu items!
Good food. I had breakfast burrito which was LARGE, filled with potatoes eggs cheese sausage and beans. Yum! Fresh made to order. Friend had 'ultimate dip'. (Both pics are of 1/2 meals).
We wanted fajitas and a traditional mexican dish other than tacos or tostados along with a beer. We had no luck at El Grullense across the street s well as another place alog the way but Pedros had it all. The food was good along with the service.

Average American diner easy freeway acces . Will stop by again on our socal trips.
Very nice place and service was good. The food was - edible. Not the greatest. I had the fried shrimp with rice pilaf and fried zucchini strips. Rice dry, zucchini wet, shrimp meh. Friend had tuna melt which was ok. Hopefully it was just an off day. The place is nice and has great potential. Recently renamed "Trankis".
Food was okay, but not delicious. Wouldn't consider this an authentic Mexican restaurant but food was good overall, I suppose. One thing I didn't like was that they mixed my rice and beans together. They're supposed to be sides. They also placed my enchiladas on top of the mixed rice and beans, which I also found odd.

Service was good atmosphere was good. The food was way below average. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken breast and the chicken breast was dry and flavorless. I had to keep adding salt to my food to get some flavor. My husband got the French dip, which was cheap lunch meat, and weird bread. The kids enjoyed their hamburger and chicken nuggets. The fries were good.
Service was terrible and food was basic. Took them 30 minutes to bring us toast didn't refill our drinks, we had to ask for refill and staff was standing around talking instead of checking on customers, it was slow and not busy at all and they still couldn't tend to customers. Never eating here again 😒
Do not eat here. My wife found a huge hair in her food and the refused to take the food off our bill and didnt offer another meal as a replacement. I ordered the fish and chips and my fish was fried for way too long and was burnt. Couldn't eat it.
My T Bone steak was the absolute the worse steak ever. Potato was old and reheated and dry. Vegetables were warm. Hard. And old brown spots on the broccoli. The owners kids were irunning around screaming.
Came here for breakfast with 2 friends and 3 toddlers all under 3. They serve their juice in flimsy, paper to go cups so when two of the juices accidentally got knocked over the lids didn’t hold and they spilled all over the table. Waitress was not very helpful in cleaning the mess as she brought out 1 rag and was hesitant when we asked if we can have one more since the table was still wet. Additionally, she didn’t offer to replace the juice until I asked and refused to refill the second cup because “it only spilled halfway”. What a joke lol. The kids size juice was $4.49 each so I shouldn’t be surprised at how stingy they were acting. I understand things cost money but accidents also happen and customer service should be the priority. This accident from the children definitely set the tone for the rest of our experience. I noticed the waitress and owner (white bald guy and young white girl with long blonde-ish hair) kept staring at our group from across the restaurant after this happened, but never once smiled or walked over to ask if we needed anything. The food itself was average and not worth the price for the experience we received.
Me and my family came in to order some food and we had the service of one young lady. I think her name is Sam. She had yellow hair and she was extremely short tempered. I understand having a bad day, but you were in customer service as a waitress you’re supposed to be nice and she was just extremely rude hardly ever helped us Very short tempered just extremely disrespectful young lady and we won’t be coming back because of her.
the service was beyond awful the food wasnt any better. the restaurant was filthy and there are homeless living outside harassing people. the oder was revolting. please take precautions if you plan on going here
