At Bayside Bar & Grill, we're passionate about serving thoughtfully sourced New American fare that's as fresh as the California coast. Our expansive, eco-chic space is the perfect backdrop for a night out with friends or a romantic evening. We're thrilled to hear from our customers who rave about our dishes, like the Pan-Seared Cod that's been wowed by its tender flakiness and citrusy flavors. Meanwhile, our outdoor seating area beckons you to linger over coffee or cocktails as the sun sets over the bay. As locals and visitors alike discover us, we're honored to be a part of Chula Vista's vibrant dining scene.

We visited this restaurant during its Barbie pop-up, and it was such a fun experience! The space was transformed with themed décor, creating a playful atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The pop-up featured a special limited menu with appetizers, entrees, and desserts inspired by the theme, along with creative signature cocktails. One of the highlights was the small roller rink set up in the courtyard, which added a nostalgic, interactive touch to the visit. If you have a Barbie fan in your life, or if you just enjoy unique dining experiences, I highly recommend checking it out before the decor and theme change.
Bayside Kitchen & Bar delivered a great experience, especially thanks to the attentive and kind bartender. I ordered the spicy margarita, "All Fired Up," and while it was on the milder side, I could still taste the jalapeño. Before I ordered, the bartender let me know that the batch of jalapeños was mild, which I really appreciated—it’s always nice when someone takes the time to set expectations. Even though the spice level was subtle, the drink was still absolutely delicious! Quick service, thoughtful staff, and a great cocktail—it all added up to a great visit.
Had breakfast here before checking out. Service was great and food was really good. Didn't get our F&B credit but the FD is working on that for us. Beautiful location right near the airport/cruise Port. Highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn for hotel stays.
During each of my visits to San Diego, I consistently choose to stay at the Hilton that is connected to this restaurant. On this particular trip, my experience was truly exceptional. Everything was flawless, including the service, the quality of the food and drinks, and the contemporary and immaculate ambiance. I want to particularly highlight the outstanding performance of our servers and bartenders on August 25th and 26th. Their customer service skills are among the best I’ve encountered in quite some time. Tania, our server, possesses a charm that is often rare to find and she took exceptional care of us. I am committed to continuing my patronage of this establishment for future dining experiences.
Best service and best breakfast sandwich ever!
Came here and was pleasantly surprised- food is delicious and drinks are amazing. See for yourself.
Came in from a long 6 hour drive and hungry. The service was pleasant, quick & top notch. The Atlantic salmon dinner was amazing. Thank you!

Great place. The service has been amazing. The staff cares and is genuine. The food was great. Came here for dinner and breakfast. Both were great. The manager Stephanie was great, Gary, and Vee had great service.
Best staff ever! We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and went there several times for coffee, cocktails etc. Everyone was amazing, especially Rose! Helped make my family's stay special!!! Highly recommend this place
The happy hour menu listed on their website was not accurate to what they offered in the restaurant. But when we mentioned it to our server, Tania, she talked to the manager, and they honored the website prices.

Excellent service, very clean place, decent food, fast polite service, decent location...but not a ton of other interesting stuff in the immediate vicinity vs little Italy. Nice they have happy hour every day, decent deals on bar bites. Again the service was excellent. Not far from a handful of pretty cool places to walk around.
Cute place with a great happy hour! 2-6pm they have really good signature cocktails to try and the bartenders are super nice.
5 years ago I had a very bad experience. I’m now modifying the rating from 1 star to 4 star. Food and service definitely improved. Good staff! Added a pict. Of the Granola Yogurt breakfast. Very good.
The Bayside is a nice bar and restaurant attached to the Hilton Garden and Homewood Suites hotels. The food is all around pretty good and they have a few different craft beers on tap. This is a good place to get out of your room, have a drink and watch a game. Staff was really friendly and the service was pretty quick.

Only ordered the New York style cheesecake, priced at nearly $20. Terrible. Soggy crust. Weird top layer that tasted like pure butter. No part of it tasted like cheesecake, let alone NY cheesecake.
This restaurant was among the first few results when searching for a kid friendly place in central San Diego. I have to say they fully delivered on that part - lots of space, comfortable seating, kid's menu, friendly and helpful service staff. So if you're looking to dine with young children, this is a good place. The staff were so friendly that we must have had about 8 people serving our party of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids) and they did it in a way that wasn't obtrusive at all. Our server, the polite and charming Savannah, helped with suggestions and did all she could to compensate for the kitchen's deficiencies, and there were a few of those. I picked the lobster pasta, which tasted flat and one dimensional and the only flavor was salt. Lobster pieces were overcooked and even though the pasta was cooked al dente, that alone couldn't carry the dish and at just under $40 it was just poor value. As I complained about it, I was offered a hamburger instead, which had a yummy onion jam in it and I enjoyed it. Ultimately we were not charged for my entree. The risotto was good but not great, which is fairly easy to achieve with good arborio rice. On to the fish and chips, which seems to be their specialty but was overdone and super oily. The rest of the dishes were acceptable but very average. The dessert: the crown jewel of the menu is the chocolate and peanut crunch bar, which is a solid easy to like dessert and I can sincerely recommend it. The black fig and goat cheese tart had no figs but plums instead and the description was misleading in mentioning pine nuts in the crust. It was still good though and it can probably go well with some wine. Girls liked their cocktails and the draft beer was pretty good too. So in conclusion we did enjoy our evening but not because of great food and with the abundance of great eateries in SD, if this restaurant doesn't do something about its kitchen, it will become irrelevant very quickly.

Ordered the burger. Got a whole uncut slab of onion on it which is whatever I cut it up and dealt with it...Just shouldn't have to for a ~$20 burger. They are attached to the hotel and you will pay for average food accordingly.

Not worth it, rip off -I went there with my friend and There’s nothing special about this place, a bunch of posters of the show and A display of the bedroom and kitchen, The ticket was $30 per person and included one Beer and we ended up ordering a cheesecake for each one of us that was supposed to be $18 and we ended up paying $30 because there’s a $10 service fee and tax, parking we paid $20 per person, Basically you will pay $80 per person just to sit there and get a beer and a tiny piece of cheesecake. Service was very slow, Staff is rude -this was the biggest waste of money.
Waited 35 minutes for a meal I didn't receive. Watched a half dozen ppl come in after me and get their breakfast. Only 3 hot meals for breakfast to choose from on the menu. If your going to be open for buisnrss have your front door unlocked for business. Don't assume ppl know to go in through the back door. McDonald's has better service than this. Wasted business space here.....
We visited for the Golden Girls pop up shop at this restaurant. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. Our bill was $20, yet we were charged $40 in gratuity, plus $18 in taxes, with nothing on the menu or signage indicating this policy. When we calmly brought this to the manager’s attention, she smirked and responded with, “Sorry you didn’t enjoy yourself,” instead of explaining or correcting the issue. Additionally, the pop-up shop itself was underwhelming. It was essentially a regular restaurant with a few themed areas—the Golden Girls dining room, living room, and Blanche’s bedroom—incorporated into the space, which didn’t meet our expectations for a pop-up experience. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of transparency and professionalism made the experience frustrating. We left feeling dismissed and overcharged. I would recommend others ask about the service charge and manage expectations.
They added on a 27% service fee. When we asked about it, the waitress said it was gratuity for the staff and refused to remove it. When we asked for the manager, he lied and said it was on an email to us. It was not. We checked. California Law says they have to display service fees clearly on their menu. It’s not on their menu. We took photos and checked. This is highway robbery and they lied to our faces about it. Cheap wine by the way.
