Good prices, well certain hours and for seniors is great. Salad bar was fresh. Be mindful and polite to others.
Great place if you're on a budget. My parents get a Senior discount.
go on a weekday because weekends get so packed. we literally come every time my wife gets a craving for salmon nagiri she loves it so much, and all the other food is amazing as well im more of a prime rib or ribs girl myself buy you wont be disappointed
Paradise Buffet is another one of my favorite Buffet places to eat a meal with the family or friends. Great selection of foods, desserts, salads and more...Come on in and try them for yourself...
Welcome to the area I enjoyed myself there was a large selection and everything was kept stocked the entire time I was there. They have Mongolian BBQ with a very large selection of volume she's from to have cooked up fresh for you. Come hungry and be full there's something to choose for every palate.
The best-priced Buffet in San Diego! Their food is always fresh - HUGE variety - salads, Chinese, American, Korean grill, Desserts.
Much better than expected! Many choices, fresh ingredients and hardworking staff. Early bird prices too. Simple but clean atmosphere.
Now offering a free meal after 10 visits. Just ask for card when you pay to get in.
Almost all options are good and tasty. Sushi is tasty and of decent quality. Came several times and will keep coming back, price is fair for what you get. After coming back I noticed they start already cutting corners with food. Soup is waterdown now, the Clam showder and egg drop as well. Sushi got smaller. Sauces water down, people notice or they think we are idiots ?
i used to work in the area, some 10+ years ago and it was Hometown Buffet back then... found myself in the Southbay area and thought, what the heck let's see if it's still there, and yes the building is still there, but is now called Paradise Buffet.... again, thought what the heck i'm here already... was right at "lunch time"... price was more than reasonable... asked if they had "milk" and the cashier didn't think so, no big deal i'll have a coke... nice fresh salad, good ranch dressing, hard boiled egg slices, baby tomatoes.(so far so good i'm thinking)... pick a booth kind in the back of the buffet.. go to get the "main dish"... NICE shredded beef, red potatoes, satiated mushrooms, mack and cheese, and when i was headed back to my booth, YOUNG man was bringing me a glass of milk... so yea GREAT place, at a reasonable price and the service was great (stopped that young man on my way out and slipped him 5 dollars and told him he's doing a great job).. highly recommend the place, especially if you going to take in a movie, or hit HomeDepot...
In place of the old Hometown Buffet we found now the Paradise Buffet. The food selection tends to gravitate towards Asian (sushi rolls included), but you can also find your All-american favorites, like meatloaf, bbq chicken and pizzas, and a good assortment of cakes, candy, fruit, salads, soups, and self-serve ice cream. The food is not the greatest, but it is very good and really enjoyable. There are many seafood and meat options too. The drinks selection is also wide, and you can get also hot coffee and tea . The prices are great. The star of the movie is the grill, (Mongolian-style), in which you can prepare your own plate from a wide selection of veggies and meat, including the sauces to be used. It is great fun and delicious, the best part of this buffet. I will come back any time. Very nice.
Lots of food choices, good food, reasonable price, a clean place and good parking. I will recommend this place.
I love the variety of different foods! I like the meatloaf, lol. There is sushi rolls, shrimp, a great salad bar, grill area (you pick your noodles and whatever toppings) and they'll grill it for you. plus many other delicious foods!
Food is amazing on the buffet. Prime Rib cooked to perfection. Sushi of different varieties & the mongolian grill touch also make up for them not having crab legs. 8/10 only missing 🦀 Very very clean I was impressed hopefully it stays that way.
DON'T believe everything you read. Yeah, yeah I read the bad reviews too, so we stayed away till today. The place was very clean, the staff(all six encountered)were helpful and friendly, and all the food was fresh and well prepared. And I don't believe they advertise themselves as a Chinese buffet, unless Paradise is a province in China? And for those that like to loiter in the bathroom, the men's was spotless. Enjoy!
Santiago, Amy, and Mike, exceeds my expectations as a customer service. You rock. Best regards, J. Jesus Caldera Robles.
Very good variety of food. Great service super polite and if you don't want to eat, just to accompany someone you can enter. Credit or debit card takes long due to laggy or slow internet or other. Cash is quick entrance. Costs $17-22, don't remember. Very super. Thank you all.
Best all you can eat sushi bar ever
Almost all food is delicious. The Clam Chowder has gotten watery, but still tastes good. They have great senior prices. Mongolian dish is very well done. Sushi rocks. Very clean. Awesome selection.
Plenty very good food to choose from. Just a little more than 20 dlls. Total.
Awesome sushi bar one of the best sushi a buffet can have here in SD
I recently hit up Paradise Buffet and had a pretty awesome time. Walking in, I was greeted by a huge spread that had something for everyone. Whether you’re into Asian dishes, Italian pastas, fresh salads, or just want to pile your plate high with comfort food, this place has it all. I went for a bit of everything to see what they were all about. The sushi station was fresh and the rolls looked almost too good to eat—but I couldn’t resist. The pasta bar was next level, with plenty of sauces and toppings to mix and match. I grabbed some lasagna and it was hearty and cheesy, just like I like it. The carving station had juicy roasted meats that were perfectly cooked, and the sides like mashed potatoes and veggies were spot on. One thing I loved was how clean everything was. The buffet area was well-organized, making it easy to navigate and grab what you wanted without any hassle. Plus, the staff were super friendly and kept everything stocked up without me having to ask. It’s nice when the people working there actually seem to care about keeping things running smoothly. The dessert section was a sweet ending to the meal. I indulged in some cheesecake and fruit salad, and both were delicious. It’s the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth without overdoing it. Prices were reasonable too, especially considering the variety and quality of the food. It’s a great spot if you’re feeding a crowd or just want to try a bunch of different dishes without breaking the bank. I also noticed they had some live cooking stations, which added a fun element to the whole experience. Overall, Paradise Buffet is a solid choice if you’re looking for a bit of everything and want a relaxed dining experience. I left feeling full and happy, already thinking about what I might try next time. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to chow down with plenty of options, give Paradise Buffet a go—you won’t be disappointed!
Got the grill bowl.qith shrimp and lots of veggies. Added spices and sauce, and enjoyed every bite. Hot n sour soup disappointed tonight tho, tasted burnt. Desert was different cakes, like the German chocolate the best!!! Also, macaroons were tasty . We will be back!
Today was my first time eating at Paradise Buffet and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish I ate. There are a ton of options to choose from at every station. The staff was very nice and the place was clean, it was just a little dark in the seating area. My kids really liked the cotton candy machine and said the soft serve ice cream was the best compared to other buffets we’ve been to. The Mongolian grill station had a ton of great options and so did the sushi station. There were also a lot of food options at this buffet that I haven’t seen at other buffets.
This buffet was worth the cost. The food was very good and they have a variety of foods, salads and desserts. The restaurant itself was also very clean and that's important. The staff were very friendly and attentive to picking up our empty dishes. Overall this was a good place to eat.
Great food, Great service. I like the background music they play, music from the 80s
Paid less than other buffet houses for the kids and I. Tons of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to choose from. Definitely go on an empty stomach so you can try everything. Feel like I'm in a food coma now. I would go back again.
Came in today for the first time! Had lunch with my grandma she likes it here! I honestly love their sushi, lots of options to choose from. Dessert section is fire I recommend coming here for a date or just a family meal (: thank you Paradise Buffet. Staff is amazing!
For the price, food, facilities, and ambiance. Paradise Buffet is very reasonable. Yes some of the food could use some seasoning, but that is patrons choice. For example some like salty, spicy, bland food, it's your choice so for those that it's tasteless maybe you need to try some seasoning. They have a variety besides salt and pepper. I saw that they had an Asian blend called 5 spice which impressed me, I have not seen any buffets have it as an option. The Hibachi grill has a plethora of choices, from meats, vegetables, and seafood. I did not try the Hibachi on this trip. Instead went for my favorites Sushi and some of the hot dishes, and the clam chowder. The clam chowder very nice base, again needed more pepper for my taste but easily added to make it pleasing to my pallet. Had chunks of clams, potatoes cooked perfectly soft, good size of celery. The hot dishes: pot roast (juicy and tender), shrimp fried rice (shrimp done well, rice was not greasy, vegetables was not soggy), szechuan chicken and shrimp (chicken was not soggy, shrimp tender, and was not overly spicy just the right amount of heat. Swaii fish even though normally bland fish had a very good seasoning that did not over power the flavor of the fish. Mushrooms my favorite (did not disappoint, very well seasoned and brought out the taste of the mushrooms) The Sushi: again a great variety from California roll to onigiri. Dragon roll (tempura shrimp with fresh avocado layered on top), eel onigiri (smoked on top of sushi rice), rainbow roll (again avocado, samon, tempura shrimp), each piece of sushi tasted fresh and had that umami (delicious) flavor. Not over sauced and texture was not rubbery. There was one roll that the tempura was a little gummy but that will happen sometimes with the rice and tempura being together too long. Other than that very nice experience for a buffet. Other dishes (sorry did not picture): grilled chicken (tender and juicy), meat loaf (not overly sweet or drowned in ketchup, just the right amount of seasoning which made a very savory and moist slice), the mac and cheese was not my favorite (just did not have that cheesy taste even tried to season with pepper, unfortunately tasted bland without the right amount of cheese flavor). Desert: good variety even had fresh cotton candy. Strudel was not as crisp as I was expecting but the cakes were moist and not dry. Will have to try other deserts next time I go. Yes I am returning, staff was very friendly and attentive. Dishes did not pile up and cleanliness was being done by dinning staff. The cooks were also not to busy to smile and say hello. Do I and would I recommend, whole heartily Yes. Just one side note, bring some tips for the tipping jar not just for the dining staff, but also the cooks which have tip jars (not expected or mandatory, but definitely appreciated). Thank you Paradise Buffet for a great first time experience.
Great buffet variety and Mongolian pan, the only detail is the dinning area is a kind of dark or low lighted, the sushi bar is very good
Literally Best deal around? You should go even if you're not hungry. It's wonderful. Friday they have prime rib and the weekend. They used to have crabs crawfish people consume too much. They lost money. Unbelievable how they can give this kind of quality food and magnificent service. Always polite and friendly for such a low price, especially for seniors. You have to call and find out. It's unbelievable the price it beats smorgasbord for low price and excellent quality. Can't say anymore how great it is
The best buffet I've ever had, the food was amazing and the price was great, I went twice on my trip!
Food is great and service is friendly. Lots of options to choose from. They serve sushi all the way to pizza amd dessert. 12 dlls per person + 3 dlls a cup its not a bad prize.
***** EDIT ***** Went back today and was still as delicious as before. Well worth the $. If you've been considering trying this place I highly recommend it. Finally made it down to the new buffet in town. They took over the old Hometown Buffet building which had been horrible for many years. The remodel looks nice and the food was surprisingly tasty. I've seen very positive and very negative reviews on here but I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth checking out. 😋 🐮🍤
Great buffet. One of the best in terms of price and availability of food. If you've never been, I definitely recommend you to visit. Great market beef, as well as sushi and rolls.
This is probably the best buffet, for the money, in San Diego. They have a very decent sushi selection and the quality is better than you would expect. The atmosphere is relaxed and the lighting is pleasant to be under. They have a nice variety of foods and even a hibachi grill, where you can make your own bowl mix, and a chef cooks it in front of you. Definitely recommend checking it out. With a drink, the dinner was about $22.50
This is my personal choice for a family dinner. They may not have a great variety of dishes but they compensate with quality. The sushi bar is fresh and consistent. If you never been to a mongolian bowl buffet do your research and try their selection, you will not regret it. The hot dishes and their seafood selectionnis always good and coocked to perfection. The dessert bar is great as well. 10/10. Come with plenty time because is always crowded.
Wow. This place is crazy good. Went to spend time for a birthday with friends. The place is clean, and so many different stations for food. I enjoyed the time, fresh food and cleanliness. The fun is to taste a little bit of this and a little bit of that. On Tues and Thur 2pm to 4pm it's all u can eat for $10 expect to pay extra for coffee etc.
If you want a great buffet then you've come to the right place. The mongolian grill here is excellent with tons of choices and plenty of sauces to make it tasty. The cooked food here is amazing.Lots of good Chinese food, as well as some pizza, macaroni, and fried chicken. They have great salads as well as fruit salads and fresh fruit. The sushi is not very good , but decentif you want to nibble on a small amount. The service was excellent. They were always picking up your dishes as soon as you were done eating. It's a fair price for a good buffet. The dessert section is phenomenal.Lots of great cakes and a soft serve that actually tastes good.
Please keep in mind that this is a buffet so my expectations are always set low. With that said all the food was very fresh we got here about noon on a Monday. It is very busy probably 70% full. For a buffet the food quality was great. They have someone making whatever you want fresh and someone making fresh sushi. They had 18 different kinds of sushi which I have never seen in a buffet before. The price was fair. With drinks it was $38 for two people for the lunch adult price. I wouldn’t rush back but I would definitely eat here again without hesitation.
Affordable and family friendly Asian buffet for the whole family! Sushi, desserts, fresh Mongolian, and hot Asian food. You get what you pay for! It’s not the best food, but it does the job in feeding everyone’s taste buds. Self serve food and drinks (extra price).
Not my favorite buffet; However, it was good for the price even on Friday/ weekend. I usually judge a buffet based on the crab rangoons; these were pretty ehhh. This place, however, excelled In the atmosphere and the cleanliness. This place was spotless, food was fresh, people were actively cycling food/ plates and silverware. There was a guy who was working the DIY bowl section, this was pretty neat and fast The guy working the prime rib was pleasant and extremely kind. The sushi distribution ladies, were making sushi with speed, were also open to custom rolls. The staff was friendly and diligent. There was just not that much food in comparison to other buffets. I wouldn't particularly go again, I like to feel a bit of fear and slight disgust as I'm eating my Chinese food.
This was a nice little spot. Food was mostly good, there were a few things that I wasn't a fan of but that's to be expected. Overall, good vibe, decent price, good food. I came around lunch on a Monday so it wasn't crowded. I'll be coming back.
Was extremely busy which lead to some things being left unclean. In the midst of getting a clean plate, one tower of plates began to slide and revealed 1 plate that was covered in food. Again, no fault of the staff as it was uncomfortably busy. Food was hot and flavorful. Quality of the food seemed better than previous buffet at that specific location. 3.8-4/5 Stars, would come again.
Great restaurant, great value, good food. It will be even better if they didn't use MSG, it's detectable in their food, and you get the typical dry mouth afterwards. It will be much better if instead of using MSG they used sea salt.
Food is delicious in not salty so if you like salty food it will taste bland. The place was cleas the staff friendly only down side was not enough staff to pick up dirty plates. The use plates sit at the age of our table the whole time.
First timer having this after come from a wrestling Tournament with the team is a great environment especially parents involved grubbing together is very cozy like ,good vibes as highlights I take it very pleasant comforting food for a chinese buffet, all food is amazing and will definitely come back here really soon 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I would give it a solid 4 stars for the Food alone sushi bar is top tier for a buffet. Desserts are also top tier for a buffet. Food was overall good taste and the price makes it 100% worth it. Our server at the time did lag a little did not pay much attention as our plates started to pile up that would be my only complaint. Other than that great atmosphere and great tasting food. Bang for your buck for sure.
**Went back and had a good experience! Our server Joseph , he made the visit so much better! He kept our table clean and helped us with our coffee! We did not have this kind of service last time. Kudos to Joseph. This place was pretty good. The usual options at a Chinese food buffet, in addition they added pot roast and mashed potatoes. Some foods are a bit bland but not too bad. The place is large and very spacious. They have the make it yourself Mongolian noodles section right in the middle of the food section. That is the best part, so many options to add to your noodles!! There is also a sushi section. So many fruits, salads, veggie options. Everything was so colorful. Our plates were quickly picked up so we wouldn't have a mess on the table. Overall a good place for lunch.
This, used to be Hometown Buffet for those of you who live in the neighborhood. Some of their food is great, some is just so so. On the great side: Mongolian bbq, sushi, fresh fruit, peaches and honeydew, and cantaloupe and oranges, jello, fresh steamed veggies like cabbage, fried fish, egg foo yung my favorite! They have pork chops which I love. They were boneless and thin cut, and terribly overcooked, but I ate them anyway because the seasoning was on point. I did take pictures but I tend to forget to take a picture of my plate because I'm too busy eating 🙃. Their meat loaf and roast beef was tasty. Pretty good egg rolls too. I'm posting pictures of receipts for lunch and dinner. Their prices aren't posted on their website. They also have a very nice dessert selection. Even cotton candy for the kids! I had chocolate cake and the frosting tasted like coffee. Delicious! I recommend this place. Foods good and it's near home, a big plus when you don't feel like driving around
Good family value. There is nothing really wrong with the buffet. Food was above mediocre. The only real complaint is trying to get clean dishes and silverware. The service at the front is really non-existent, but I digress it's a buffet. Family favorites were the pot roast, shrimp, sushi (fam enjoyed this, I found it ok), the little coffee cakes, and ice cream. Personally, I found the desserts to lack flavor and on the dry side. It's definitely a value for the fam compared to fast food prices these days.
The food was good overall. However, we were expecting they had oysters, and they actually didn't have those. We called the restaurant before coming; the person answered the call said "yes. We are having oysters right now". But no oysters in reality. After we ate at the restaurant and knew for sure that there were no oysters, I thought they might have misheard me saying something else and answered the phone incorrectly, so I called the restaurant again on the way home out of curiosity. The person still said they were having oysters. "Yes, we have" - he answered. Well, well, well ...
They have a Mongolian grill. Great Senior discount before 3pm.
I really wanted to like this buffet but overall it wasn't great. Desserts suck no flavor it seems like its all sugar free or something, tasteless i went for choc cake and pies everything was tasteless the texture is there but not the taste. Pizza taste worser than 7 eleven. Macaroni sucks. The cookies are all burnt...would've liked if they were softly baked.. ice cream seems like its made with water not with milk... Mashed potatoes/gravy is good. Chowmein, sushi is good, fruit is good, cleanliness is alright. Staff is exceptional.
Thought I would try something new but wasn't impressed. Some of the food had no flavor some of it was way too salty.
Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with the quality of food. The seafood was not good at all, everything tasted really sweet. The pizza was also my least favorite, like how do you mess up pizza. The mac and cheese tasted like mac but no cheese, literally no flavor. The orange chicken was okay but I've had better. However if I had to choose, I would say the Chinese food was the better option of all. The dessert was so so bland, no flavor. Except the ice cream because it was the machine that always tastes good. The only thing i enjoyed was the mashed potatoes and the soda machine. It was very good service though so I'm gonna give 3 starts.
If you are allergic to shrimp don't go. I was going to avoid shrimp/choices next to shrimp but every non-shrimp choice was next to a choice with shrimp. Example: shrimo fried rice next to a chicken dish, next to Tempura shrimp next to noodles. We had to leave without trying the food but the people were nice enough to give us our money back.
Food is very good with wide variety! Mongolian bbq is fabulous but usually unmanned. Zero ambiance with very, very loud music and dark dining areas. Bathrooms are very dirty
We recently brought a large group of adult special needs students, staff, and teachers to your restaurant. Overall, the food was delicious and the staff who assisted us during the meal were courteous and helpful. Our students had a wonderful time. However, we ran into an issue regarding the bill that caused confusion. Everyone in our large party paid their individual price at the register upon entry. After we were all seated, we were informed that a mandatory 10% service fee would be added to the total group bill. This mandatory fee was never communicated when we were paying individually at the counter. It would have been appreciated if this policy was made clear upfront, before we were seated, so our group could budget and pay the correct amount from the start. Recommendation: Please make sure your mandatory gratuity/service fee policy is clearly posted or communicated at the time of payment to avoid surprising guests with unexpected charges.
After reading many reviews, I decided to try this place out for their sushi options. Most of the rolls tasted good but don’t expect high quality. Just one piece I had to spit out onto a napkin. I think the hot food selections were lacking. Many of the options were too salty or tasteless and not edible to me. I can’t believe the string beans were a popular choice because it was super salty when I was there. The prices are great for these reasons though. Oh and I had to put at least 3 plates back because the washer didn’t get all the leftover food out, which was gross.
Food selection is high, but all is not as tasty as it should be. Most are mediocre at best. The sushi and roast beef are good. Mongolian BBQ appears to have all it needs to, quite a spread of ingredients, but ends up rather tasteless. The BBQ person didn't give much attention to each pile, preferring instead to get as many bowls as possible going at once. Consequently, the ingredients in your bowl do not get mixed, so your hunk of carrots, your pile of onions, etc., just cooks without mixing with everything else, clearly losing a lot of the flavor mixing does. I also think their Mongolian sauces need to have significantly more taste. The desserts look particularly good, but I didn't find any of them to have really good flavor and texture, just ok.
The food is so bland and some of it is just plain bad. The sushi rolls had sour cream cheese and the fried food tasted frozen then thawed. Not crunchy, but oddly moist. They had a Mongolian station where they make the ingredients you want in front of you and they did it so fast, my shrimp was underdone. The beef and broccoli was so salty it was inedible. The desserts were dry and flavorless. The pizza was disgusting. Honestly, it wasn't just the food. We had to avoid sitting in the booths near the edges of the restaurant because there was hardly lighting it was so dark! This place was so bad, don't waste your time.
I Would give them 0 I really don't like coming here, but my friend always invited me here. They always stamp my card with the Senior discount but today this cashier lady 4/21/25 at 3:50PM said she couldn't stamp my card because of the discount? First time they say that to me, anyways I am upset and you should post it saying what is allowed and what's not!!!!!
This is probably my sixth or seventh visit here, the buffet is hit and miss, when I say that I'm referring to both the food and the service, which is really saying something because the service consists of cleaning use plates away from a table. We arrived and approximately half the tables were occupied but only a few were available as at least a third were dirty and had not yet been cleaned. The floors were filthy not only under the tables but next to the tables, there's no excuse for this. While we ate dinner the plates were only cleared once. I comment about Hit and Miss on the food is really in regards to the cook and by that I mean cooked appropriately or overcooked. Tonight quite a few items were overcooked, three chicken dishes overcooked, two seafood dishes and even the beef from the Mongolian grill was overcooked. Tough beef, chicken and seafood are not what I go out to eat for. To finish on a high note I will say that several of the desserts we shared were good and we would have them again. They are on the higher end of cost for a buffet and you're not getting an appropriate return on the expense.
The soda fountains were hit and miss for syrup - it seems that no one checks them. The Mac and Sauce (I'm not going to call that cheese) was gross.
Worst food ever. Food had the looks, but taste is sooooo disappointing. Maybe one or two dishes only worth to eat. The rest is cardboard flavor, seems like a newbie to the business prepare the dishes recipes. Didn't even take the time to research them.
People acting like animals that haven’t been fed all day. Most is frozen junk im heavy sweet sauces my taste buds were disgusted. Very pricey too if you go for dinner. Everyone has tip jars too its a buffet !
for 20 bucks the food options is very slim. The orange chicken does not taste like orange chicken at all. The sprite was nearly all syrup so after the first sip I was sick and couldn’t even finish my plate. The sushi was pretty fresh and good considering it’s a buffet.
I'll never come back I just saw the line cook prepping raw chicken using the serving bar as a prep table spreading salmonella over cook food, I told him about it and his answer was, "don't eat it" 😡 I have told the manager about similar situations on the past nothing been done about it. 😤
This is no lie, this place was disappointing! I was really excited for this place to open. We came in for lunch. PRO: plenty parking, place clean since brand new CON: 1. Very poor quality of food: $15 is too expensive for lack of quality. 2. Sushi is mostly mayo and imitation crab meat 3. "Hot" food is served LUKEWARM! 4. Stir fried/deep fried foods taste even worse when salty, over drenched with sauce, soggy, and lukewarm 5. 🍰 are typical Chinese buffet. Looks are deceiving - cakes are sugary or bland reflects mass produced desserts with no care for quality or taste. Even a Costco cake has better flavor. 6. The fried mochi sesame balls undercooked!! Makes perfect sense with lukewarm food being served 7.Overall more negatives than positive. I could see the Asian owners or management standing by. How could they approve of this?! The lack of quality of food ingredients, preparation/cooking sub par as evidence by presentation of lukewarm foods and poor taste 8. Who left 5 star reviews? This is poor cafeteria food at its worse.
Food just doesn’t taste good. Limited selection. The entrees lack flavor. Dishes were dirty. All the cakes at dessert bar were dry. Will not be coming back.
Was my second time here Came to give it another try maybe it was better then the first time but unfortunately it was worst 30 min for them to come pick up the plates and the food was just unbeatable
Went here for a bday dinner 1/21/25 with my family because the reviews sounded good. When we got there the place was looked and felt dirty but decided to give it a try. The food options were very limited and did not taste good. It was very dissatisfying. I also ordered from the Mongolian noodle bar and gave my bowl to the lady who grills it for you and gave me a buzzer for when it’s ready. I never got buzzed. I went there about 3 minutes later and she had no idea where my bowl was and couldn’t understand any English. Towards an hour into our dinner, my wife felt sick to her stomach and went to the bathroom and had bad food poisoning and was vomiting and diarrhea. She had to go to the ER later it was so bad. Worst experience and I think should be shut down.
Tonight's experience sullied my previous experiences. You need to give your waitresses customer service lessons so they know how to interact with your patrons. You also need to invest in "Reserved" signage for EACH table, instead of thinking that one paper towel with a scribble on it, is enough to cover four tables. Your staff needs to learn how to approach someone to inform them that they may not be seated in a certain area. When they are given suggestions, they should take the criticism instead of talking back to the patrons. One cannot learn if they think they know better than the person in front of them. A lot of us also work customer service and we know what we are talking about. If there is not enough sitting, you should stop letting people in, specially if you have reservations taking up the empty tables. I rather be told that you are at capacity and we need to wait or come back later, than to be standing around inside waiting for a table to clear after being removed from a table that was reserved, yet had no signage. I brought my family that is visiting for the holidays just to be rudely serviced. Since you do not implement a name tag policy for your staff, I did not get the name of the specific staff members. But it was three of them, all rude, that says a lot.
I went to Paradise Buffet in California and was told at the register that a 10% gratuity fee would be added—after I saw the menu price and before being allowed to enter. While they asked if that was "okay," California law (SB 478, effective July 2024) makes this practice illegal. This new law says all mandatory fees (like service charges or automatic tips) must be included in the advertised price, not tacked on at checkout, even with verbal notice. The price you see on the menu must be the total price you pay—no surprises. Paradise Buffet is violating this law by charging a mandatory 10% fee that is not included in the menu price, which is misleading and deceptive to customers. I hope the business updates its pricing to comply with state law. Until then, diners should be aware of this hidden charge.
Grossss!! Do not go there we found roaches in one of my son’s plate and confronted the manager and she refused to refund us our money when confronted. We couldn’t even take a picture of the plate because they snatched it real quick . After threatening to call cops she said she will only charge us for 2 adults out of the 4 adults and 2 kids that didn’t even eat. All the food was left at the table and we insisted for her to check the cameras. Save your self the food poisoning eating at this dirty place !!!
FOOD POISONING on my first visit here. I should’ve known better with all of the red flags around. Food handling was super subpar. Employees wearing gloves for show and cross contaminating by wiping counters down and then touching food with same gloves. also using their cell phones while wearing their gloves meant to keep patrons safe. The atmosphere was not well maintained, everything was sticky, crumby, and even the dishes were gross; every other was dirty, that I had to swap out until I could find a clean one without old food reside or grease on them, AND it sat in a very dirty area. So dirty, we thought it was the dirty collection area at first. I wish I took pictures, but didn’t wanna make anything too obvious. After my very modest second plate (because I couldn’t really find anything appetizing here and I’m easy to please. But everything looked like it came from a can or box), my stomach started to gurgle and I needed to excuse myself to the restroom where I expelled everything I ate. Luckily the bathroom had a small waist bin I could use to vomit in. Went home feeling super ill and needing to take anti-diarrhea medication. This might be TMI, but I’m hoping this saves someone else from getting sick from this place. I’m currently laying down feeling so weak. Food poisoning sucks. I won’t be coming back. If you can, splurge a little more and go to 100 seafood buffet. Compared to this place, it’s 10x better! Service gets two stars because the ladies bussing the tables were always on top of their game. But only two stars because all the poor food handling at the food end. Crowded table seating. My chair was bumping the gentleman's chair behind me. If anyone needed to get by, I was getting pressed into my table so they could squeeze by.
First and last time I’ll be eating there. Didn’t like the food or service.
Over crowded for no reason i absolutely regret come here what a waste of money not the best thing was the fountain drinks
The worst buffet I ever ate! Old food, bad taste, everything sincerely was awful. Don’t recommend eating at this place!
On 01/06/26 2:30pm I went to paradise buffet the line was long and the line was inside noticed there was two lines side by side. I got in line, a lady from the register walked up to me and in a very stern rude voice said the line is outside & she was only telling me and my friend. Another lady walked up to us manager Diana came up to us and was very flustered and yelling said the line is outside. She then opened the door and was telling the clients as they were walking in. I mentioned they need to have a sign and better organization & she was very rude and aggressive manner speaking loudly and you all don't listen. I couldn't believe the aggression & the way they were treating us and all the customers that were in line. Manager obviously should not be a manager if she can't handle customers in a decent professional respectful way. We asked to speak to a manager she said she was the manager her name is Diana. We asked to speak her supervisor or to the owner or someone above her and she refused to give info. We also asked co workers no one wanted to give owner info. What is that? Totally unacceptable and aggressive way to treat customers I have never felt so uncomfortable and so harassed. When we were paying all the workers working around the salad sushi area and the register rallied around all the customers in line all yelling and screaming at us to shut up and we don't listen it so unbelievable & outrageous! Check the cameras please it's all recorded. That's if the cameras work or were deleted. I wish could've recorded it and sent it to BBB and report it to the owner. They have cameras I hope the owner and review the footage and fire these all these aggressive violent co workers. One of the customers in line an elderly lady said to my friend that co worker that works in the sushi area threatened to darle en la madre ( means beat the heck out of her) I hope she reports that to the police. I can't believe this happened and I hope the owner sees the video dated 1/06/26 about 2:20-3:00pm This was so wrong in so many levels!!! Pls be careful going here Record and report
My husband, kids and I decided to visit the buffet. Walking in it was SUPER CROWDED.... The food was NASTY as Hell....Low quality...Low vibrational. I couldn't even eat 1 plate. I love sushi but their sushi was MUSHY and Luke warm( Philadelphia roll). Not too crunchy. Disgusting! I will not be back. I should have listened to my gut(literally) and just used the $100 for take out somewhere else. **** Also important to remember. If you don't like the food, you have 10 minutes to get a refund. Anything after that is no refund.!!!!***** I talked to the manager, the Chinese lady and she said she couldn't refund my money because it's been 30 minutes. It took us 10 minutes just to find a table that fit our party. After I told her it was disgusting, she offered extra punches towards a free meal. Yuck!!!
Hello Paradise Buffet. This places reminds me of a old song that goes a little something like this…Have you ever went over a friend's house to eat And the food just ain't no good? I mean the macaroni's soggy, the peas are mushed, And the chicken tastes like wood So you try to play it off like you think you can By saying that you're full And then your friend says, "Mama, he's just being polite. He ain't finished, uh-uh, that's bull!" So your heart starts pumpin' and you think of a lie And you say that you already ate And your friend says, "Man, there's plenty of food." So he piles some more on your plate While the stinky food's steamin', your mind starts to dreamin' Of the moment it's time to leave And then you look at your plate and your chicken's slowly rottin' Into something that looks like cheese Oh so you say, "That's it, I gotta leave this place. I don't care what these people think. I'm just sittin' here makin' myself nauseous With this ugly food that stinks." So you bust out the door while it's still closed Still sick from the food you ate And then you run to the store for quick relief From a bottle of Kaopectate And then you call your friend two weeks later To see how he has been And he says, "I understand about the food, Baby Bubba, but we're still friends." Let’s start by saying your over priced food. I had the roast beef. It was very greasy. The mashed potatoes were ok. The pizza tasted like cardboard. The cheese cake…tasted like car wash soap. I don’t mind paying for good food! I’m hoping I just went on a bad day or something. But I had the sushi and the rice was too wet. The fish was gummy and warm like it’s been sitting out too long. There was a lady there refilling the jello with her hands! She did have gloves on but she was also talking over the jello across the sneeze guard to a customer in front of me. Everything was over all a little bit too salty. The stir fry table in the middle is impressive and it was good. I should have asked the cook to use water instead of more soy sauce. The dish came back too salty. It would have been great if it wasn’t for the extra soy sauce. Orange chicken very good. Edamame very good Chicken wings good The salad bar was fine. The dessert bar was fine. But I’ve cream didn’t taste like ice cream. Bathrooms were very clean. Five star on the bathrooms. Costumer service was great. Just needs a little bit more TLC on the main food.
