Food was excellent. I loved the cream pasta I ordered. Fantasic! The music was good too. I would like to visit again.
I loved it. Absolutely fantastic ❣️ I love the seafood and the fried oysters were the best.
We ate here for the first time for their 22nd annual crab carnival and the food was nothing short of amazing. I got the crab bisque to go with my pasta and my husband had one sip of the bisque and said he was getting some of that to take home! The Alaskan King crab legs and the pasta Giovanni were awesome. Everyone at the table left full and extremely satisfied with the meal, service and atmosphere. Will 100% be back for more!
Delicious! Calming, cozy atmosphere, lots of Vegan options, tasty reasonably priced Oysters. They have lots of specials for specific days. Highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
I love it there at that nice inteck bar. They are very friendly and their food and drinks are very delicious 😋 I did not want to leave because they were that constable👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Came here for the first time to try the Crab Carnival. Just came back from Destin, Florida and this was better than any king crab we had down there. Wife's seafood mac and cheese was 🔥. Will for sure be back!
Excellent food, jazz music too loud. Love the beyond meat Burger.
Oh my goodness!! So Delicious. I will be returning there soon!!! Shrimp and Andouille Po'Boy and Groaster Sweet Heat wings!!
Delicious. We had the jambapastalia and the groaster hot wings - very good meals. The pasta was the best dish of the night. We will be back!
Fresh raw oysters delicious. Appetizers are great. Great service. Reasonable prices. Yummy twice baked potato
Appetizers and drinks were delicious! Customer service fantastic!
They have great food for great price.
We got a reservation for 2 within 24 hrs. Was seated immediately. Had our drinks served within the first 10 mins and then ordered apps. The restaurant was quiet and cozy. The waitress was very attentive as was the other girl refilling the drinks. Our orders were taken and served without hesitation. Everything tasted delicious! We were barely there an hour or so. We will be back again, there's more dishes to try! 💕
We had our anniversary dinner here! It was delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered the seafood sampler as an appetizer and although I don't typically like oysters, the fried oysters were amazing. Highly recommend.
We primarily went there to hear live music (Grassroots Ramble was awesome!) and had some delicious wings, brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries while we were there. Topped it off with Chocolate Bomb for dessert. It took a while for the server to get our order, but was fine for the rest of our stay. Friendly people!
Jon and his staff are Amazing! Everything is made fresh from scratch and made to order. I love the quality and variety. You can see the care that goes into each menu from Oyster Fest to Crab Carnival. I always get great service and they treat you like family. If you are looking for great seafood, cajun dishes and anything in between This is your place!
Loved the food. Our group seemed very pleased with their choices. Delicious raw oysters. Fragrant & tasty gumbo, my shrimp and andouille po'boy came with hush puppies and Tai salad, so good. It was hard to tell what was chosen at the other table but I know a few enjoyed appetizers & delicious desserts. Only problem was a rather long wait for our food. We were there at lunch time, and it wasn't that busy...staffing perhaps. Fortunately we had extra time before we had to return to our bus. If you're prepared to wait, the food really was great.
We stopped into Washington Platform for their Crab Fest. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich. The crab cake was real outstanding. I took it off the roll because it was too much bread. The roumalade was really spicy and there was so much of it. My wife had the Findlay Market Salad. It looked really good. We were there for happy hour. Our draft beers were really cheap. Washington Platform was really good. We'll definitely be back soon.
Great food great atmosphere unfortunately I had my kids with me. There is no kid menu but I made it work. Best bet is to date night it or go with friends. It is kid friendly but what they serve as a parent youre dividing full portion which can work and can be cheaper but sucks to do when you just want to dig in. Oyster stew was excellent for those who enjoy that sort of thing.
I found this hidden gem this weekend. I was hesitant to try them but so glad I did. The cajun wings were amazing. Our server Tara was working exceptionally hard but never stopped smiling or made us seem rushed. She deserves a raise! The live band was great so go check them out one Friday or Saturday evening.
Great food and even better service. Our waitress was amazing, both friendly and prompt. She went out of her way to tell is abouy the area. There was an awesome jazz artist and band that pulled the entire experience together and had us leaving with smiles on our faces. All around great place to visit.
The food was amazing. Washington Platform has an extensive list of seafood dishes along with several other culinary options and a solid beer and wine list. The live jazz band gave it an authentic New Orleans feel. I recommend checking it out.
Nice friendly staff. Definitely the best freshest seafood in the Cincinnati area. They also offer a range of other dishes if seafood isn't you cup of tea. The prices are very reasonable to boot. John Diebold the owner of the restaurant often greets guests and asks how everything was. Top notch service! If you're in the Cincinnati area and want some down to earth, fresh food, this is your place.
Customer service is friendly, attentive, and paid attention during the three course meal. Gumbo soup, cauliflower wings-very unique- fish tacos, chicken Pompeii, salmon, Caesar salad plus the chocolate bomb desert. The food was well prepared, tasty, and worth the restaurant week price. Portions are large and plentiful.
The food was marvelous. The service was outstanding. The ambiance was outstanding. Lots of meter and surface lot parking across the street. Did the underground brewery room tour. This site is historical Cincinnati! Net: all the right stuff. Now our favorite downtown dinner spot.
The spicy bean burger is a great value, with a generous portion of fries, and a veggie burger topped with an egg, avocado and "fixin's". We enjoyed hearing the jazz band on the night we went - check their website for the live music schedule. The bar offers a good range of wine and beer to suit your taste and budget - the house wines are good enough, but purists might want to explore further down the list.
The husband and I went here for an early Mother's Day lunch and were initially concerned by how slow the service appeared (there was just one server and the bartender taking orders). Out of nowhere the owner came out from the kitchen, looked around, saw the place was swamped and just took our order. For that reason alone, I want to give WPS five stars. The food was also amazing. The smoked Mac n cheese and fried green tomatoes were to die for.
Their seafood is incredible, with probably the best oysters in the city! The vibe can get a little noisy on weekends because of the smaller, historic restaurant space, but the patio is great for nicer weather. Live jazz is a good time here as well. Check which food festival they're celebrating for the time of year you'll go!
Had an excellent lunch today! The fish sandwich and crunchy Asian slaw were both delicious. I was especially pleased with how lightly the fish was battered. Fantastic service, generous cocktails, an all around delicious lunch. Can’t wait to go back!
I was at the Platform for a wedding shower, but we did have food and servers so it's only fair to give them a shout-out. Our food was very good. The servers were efficient and professional. I saw several families eating here. It also looks like a great place for date night.
For me this place was a hidden gem...I am a seafood junkie at times and my love decided he would take me some where new. I've passed this place a lot being born and raised here but never tried it. We were seated away from people in a corner which was nice for social distancing and intimacy. Our waitress Annabelle was very kind, informative and attentive. Her suggestions were spot on. We got a few different items but the stars of the show were the cocktails, hush puppies, fresh Ceasar salad, crab mac n cheese and the snapper. Love the live jazz...it was a whole mood all by itself. I will be back again soon!
Went here for the crab carnival and was blown away by the flavor. The decor is intentionally old-fashioned as this is a historical site but the food is anything but dated. Perfect oysters started us off before a bevy of delicious crab dishes. Service was excellent, and we will be back; most likely before the month is out.
Can't believe I didn't visit sooner, especially with my live jazz friends always including it on their recommended list. But forget the music - the food is great, especially if you are a seafood lover (but plenty of other choices on my list for next time)! Don't get me wrong, the bands are great, too. Recently, there are a lot more places within a couple blocks, so you can easily go there as a pit stop or a final destination.
Hoping to go back and be able to give 5-stars. Our server was excellent minus her speed! Not real issue there...but 15 minutes before eating drinks when your dead on a Friday is excessive! The food was GREAT! IMO not presented well enough to justify price. The food is slightly overpriced and drinks are slightly underpriced...so I guess that evened out! We'll be back. Just make sure you are not in a hurry!
Interesting place with constant monthly themes and events. My only complaint is the lack of consistency. I've had some fantastic food there. But I've had one or two where quality could've been improved. The other good meals make up for that. That being said service has always been good.
Was there on Easter. I think they should put more information on their website. They didn't note that there was a buffet, what was on the buffet, or that there was Only the buffet. We had anticipated having a choice. Also, brunch buffet didn't include bacon, waffles, or pancakes. It did include some very bad sausage. Otherwise, the carved meats (turkey, ham and lamb) we're good as well as the green beans, chicken, apple crumble and bread pudding. Overall, the food I had was good, the staff was good, but not the experience or price I expected. Please put all details clearly on website. I would go back, but not for this buffet.
Great food, friendly people. Gives a great seafood experience. The tea is always unsweetened and the fries have a seafood salt but unexpectedly good. The drinks are made strong and the service is usually pretty quick. A hangout for many groups around cincinnati including local businessmen, college students, and foodies.
Love the jazz vibe! If it was closer I would love to just chill at this place weekly with live jazz, a drink or two, and maybe a simple burger at some point. When I did finally get there last month I caught the end of a session with my kids, i was excited to hear and disappointed to see they were at the end of their last set. But stayed as I had wanted to go there since burger week and seeing the fried oysters on burger fat boy. So I we ordered and ate. I saw oysters, couldn't taste them through the thick layer of tartar sauce. I hope to go back soon and up the review to 5 stars.
Terrific Easter Brunch with jazz trio. This same group is there for mothers day and Christmas eve. Omelets were super and service quick. Lamb a bit gristly and ham a bit dry but other offerings made up for it. I'll be going back for the jazz Sunday brunch on 1st and 3rd Sundays of month.
We went to Washington Platform for restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised. They don't look like much from the outside but inside they have have a good selection of food and drink along with a friendly wait staff. My steak could have been prepared a little better but that may have been because it was a smaller portion than the chefs are used to. Will definitely go back again for their oysters.
Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it. This is a full fledge bar, restaurant combination with Great Appetizer Options. Washington Platform reminds me of a semi-fancy western bar- not too country, not too rock and roll, but something in the middle or right outside that realm. I don't have a descriptive word to describe the ambiance there. It was a good vibe on this specific day. This is not a family friendly restaurant, instead grown-ups only. Perfect for groups, I think both young and old (adults) can appreciate the food and drink options Washington Platform has to offer. Live performances on specific nights of the week, I mean like they have it going on. Parking is located directly across from the restaurant, expect to pay a minimum of $5. That is a modest minimum for parking downtown. Cash (exact change) or Credit card usually accepted. Go ahead, check Washington Platform out.
This was a fun eat. We happened to go during an oyster festival and there were probably 30 different oyster plates to chose from in addition to their regular menu. They even had live jazz music through our meal.
Good food. Good atmosphere. Good bar. Everyone seems nice, never had a bad experience. Must try the burger, one of the better ones around and if you like oysters that is your place.
Service was slow. It took Carol 8 mi utes to say hello to me and it was clear I was there. The burger was good. I also ordered fries and a cheap domestic beer. Fries taste no better than frozen. The Fatboy burger also comes with pickle and I didn't receive any. Noticeable since I love pickle- I asked for pickles & ketchup from Carol twice and a regular(or employee) seated at the end of the bar reminded her also(3rd time) and she never returned with the damn pickles. I'll still be back when on that side of downtown. I won't sit at the bar. I think she was just tired.
Food is all round ok... nothing fancy, just simple, tasty, and reasonable. Live music too.
This was my first visit to Washington Platform. I felt my meal was just OK. I ordered the blackened fish tacos and for my taste, they were too spicy. I order fish tacos quite frequently and the fish didn't seem to have a lot of flavor. I was looking for a lighter menu item and saw that there was shrimp on the menu so asked if I could get them steamed or grilled. The waitress seemed confused by this and said they could not. I asked how they were prepared when added to a salad. She wasn't sure.....so I went with the tacos. My other table mates seemed to enjoy their meals, but for myself, I will not be in a hurry to come back.
The food was okay. The water didn't taste well either. The service was great. A few of my friends felt sick afterwards. I don't know if it was because of opening day but the food wasn't right. The bacon in the Oysters wasn't hardly cooked either.
I've been here 3 times and the only time I would give it 5 stars would be the first time when I did a carry out order, the seafood pasta dish was indeed delicious. The second time I went there was a wait, we were seated and it took an hour to get our food. I got a blacked Cajun fish and it was the most salty thing I had ever tried, it was not edible, I told the waitress, but we were not compensated and it was too busy to wait for anything else. The third time, we went for brunch on a Sunday right when it opened, on the website there was a brunch menu. I made reservations, the staff was very nice and we were seated, but it turns out they no longer serve brunch, we left. So while I wouldn't rule this place out I think there is much room for improvement.
My girlfriend and I visited this establishment for the first time during Bockfest. We had a very unpleasant interaction with the bartender on duty. After several e-mail exchanges with the owner, I am satisfied with his response. He welcomed us back for a second opportunity and we may do so, but have no immediate plans at this time. First impressions are lasting impressions, but people are human and deserve a second chance. If we return, I will be sure to keep an open mind and update my review objectively to reflect our second experience.
Service was really good, music was spot on. Get the bisque highly recommended. Everything else I ordered was either cold, over cooked or just awful. Nice atmosphere though. Highly recommended for drinks and music, the chef is hopefully to be changed soon.
