Five stars for Wild Ginger’s delicious Thai food! This was our favorite lunch spot when we worked in Hyde Park for a while. The pho is the most flavorful I’ve had, and the curry vegetables are always cooked just enough to be crisp but not too crunchy.
BEST miso soup we have ever had...so hearty! We came with the intentions of getting sushi but were swayed to spicy scallop stir fry, which we shared. The pot stickers were very tasty. The brown rice was wonderful and the sauce on the vegetables was great. We only had good things to say. They were very busy so I would recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekend. The tables were a bit tight together, and the service a bit slow, but the awesome food made up for it.
We sat in the back room behind the hibachi tables. We had a large group, on a Busy Saturday night, but that didn’t affect the fabulous service we received. The Mango Yellow Curry with Shrimp, was by far the best curry we’ve ever had. The sushi and sashimi was bright, very fresh and presented beautifully. Mango stir fry with chicken, pickled cucumbers was the perfect summer dish. Lite and vibrant, not heavy on the tummy. If you’re in the area you can’t go wrong!
First timer here, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Great vibe and music, and our server was quick to assist me in finding a dish that fit within my dietary restrictions. Add to that the freshness of the veggies. YUMMMM!
I had a solo lunch date. I had a Sunday Morning and beef Pho. This was my first experience. It was delicious. They did not have cilantro and something else but I didn’t feel like I was missing out. Will go again.
Pho was huge, delicious, and the spice topped it off to be one of the best I've had in a while! Would recommend getting a reservation as this place does get packed on a Friday night!
My go to place for sushi and hibachi!! Fresh and great quality sushi. 🍣🍱
Very good food with a very extensive menu. I will definitely be back to try the hibachi.
I ordered from Uber eats. Food was good overall. Just FYI their portion is huge(which is nice because it’s 13$ for Padthai) and lots of peanuts. I’m not a big fan of peanuts so if you’re like me put a note on that before putting your order in. 😉
Wild Ginger is always top notch. Service is great, food is outstanding. The restaurant has great ambiance for eating in, but carryout is also consistently great. They never disappoint.
First timer. Came for quick lunch. Lots of options! I went with sushi this time. It's fantastic.
I tried the green mountain roll (vegan) and it was amazing! The seaweed salad on top adds an interesting crunch. The green gyoza (vegan) and the drunken noodles are also very tasty.
Food was outstanding. Best sushi I've had in months and I'm a regular at most places in the city.
Server was super sweet. Food was delicious (I was craving Pho). Atmosphere was calm and inviting. Highly recommended!
Love this place! Fast take out and tasty food. I think the Thai sweet and sour chicken is my new fave! It has the perfect taste and satisfied my orange chicken cravings.
Sushi was great. Service was amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back here.
Great food and service! Really nice restaurant with lots of options! FOLLOW MY INSTAGRAM FOR MORE IN-DEPTH REVIEWS @addielovesfood
Wow, we have found our new favorite Pad Thai place! Sooo good!
Good atmosphere, excellent service, and high quality food. I had the Pho, and it was as good as it gets! Very fresh with lots of beef and noodles.
Awesome menu choices. A wide variety and creative sushi choices.
I’m a long time customer of Wild Ginger since I moved to Cincinnati two years ago and my experience yesterday cemented my adoration for the restaurant. My work group made a reservation that ended up being a third of the size due to some of my colleagues not showing up without notice. The server VERY graciously gave a difficult but necessary message to us about how that negatively impacted them as a small business since they unnecessarily turned down business to accommodate our reservation size. Although I’m I did stick to my reservation commitment, I know that message had a mindset shift impact on me personally that will always make me make mindful decisions on reservation commitments in the future. The food was delicious, great portion sizes and the server and the cook were so kind despite our lack of consideration!
I don’t often go out of my way to leave reviews but my experience today was wonderful! I was looking to doordash food today, between being sick and the holidays I just needed something easy. I have Celiac and finding new places is so difficult. I called to ask about gluten free choices and substitutions! I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of the young woman on the phone but she was so happy to help and when she wasn’t confident in the answer she stopped to go confirm! This make me feel so confident and I got gluten free pho with chicken and a philly roll! It was still perfect temperature when it arrived and everything was packed securely and they even left notes on my food to confirm it was gluten free! The way a business handles food allergies with sensitivity and intention speaks volumes to the integrity of an establishment and its employees! Please give the young woman on the phone a holiday bonus- food allergies or not this is definitely a place to spend your money !
We were greeted quickly and kindly. Food came out fast and delicious. Very friendly to gluten free- items are marked on menu and staff is knowledgeable!
The decor, food, and service were immaculate! The only reason I'm giving the atmosphere a 4 instead of 5 is because of the other guests. It felt like we needed to yell to our friends, because the people on either side of us were yelling. The sushi was PHENOMENAL, and the Pad Thai was delicious. We ordered 8 rolls between both couples, and two bowls of Pad Thai. I will say, the spice level might be a bit overstated, as a 4 felt more like a 2 in most other places, but the flavor was divine. We will be back sooner rather than later!
Absolutely amazing experience! This Thai sushi and hibachi restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented — every roll was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The Thai dishes were authentic, rich, and full of bold spices without being overpowering. The hibachi show was so entertaining and fun to watch, and the chef cooked everything to perfection. The steak was tender, the shrimp was juicy, and the fried rice was some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and perfect for both family dinners and special occasions. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommend to anyone who loves Thai food, sushi, or hibachi! 🍣🔥
Once I walked in thr restaurant it already felt very authentic. The aroma of food smelt wonderful, I was practically drooling over the smell. The atmosphere felt very peaceful, it was loud, but quite, it was just the right amount a noise. The service was wonderful! Once a stepped in the restaurants I was immediately sat down at a table! They also had tons of seating areas! The staff were also kind to my little one! 😊 The miso soup tasted like a burst of rainbows exploding in my mouth. Most of their food choices were big enough for a whole family to share. 😊 Their sushi tasted phenomenal 😍! I loved how they had so many choices for almost everything. My son loved the egg drop soup! (He's a big fan of that soup!) I was really surprised that they had salads here! The Wild Ginger Fried Rice was so tasty, honestly when I read the description it just sounded okay, but when I had it, it just tasted so good there's no way to describe the amount of flavor I tasted. My husband got the Traditional Fried Rice, which was prepared beautifully. 😍 Overall l, this place is a solid 5 👍.
Good food and service. We had shrimp sizzler and wild ginger fried rice. Taste was good but I felt the items were lil pricey compared to the other Thai places I have tried so far. Haven’t had their sushi. So, can’t comment on them.
Good food and ambience! We tried Double tempura shrimp sushi, miso soup and noodles. The taste was good but not great. I am sure there might be better sushi places around. Overall nice food and great service. They serve good cocktails too.
Try the chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce appetizer. The drunken noodles with beef was really good! The yellow curry was below average. Staff is nice, but a little slow.
comfortable dining area. average menu but good food. very typical americanized asian food. has gotten a bit expensive lately. good service. parking lot in rear.
The service and atmosphere were great. The seaweed salad was seasoned well. The sushi, however, was horrible. I hate to say this, but the sushi was basically cat food. It smelled and looked like cat food. When I think Sushi, I think sliced tuna... not ground up tuna! 🤢 I don't have a clue what the cucumber garnish is about? The texture of that roll was really bad. Again, the service was great, and the restaurant was clean, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SUSHI.
Our visit began with a short trek from the parking lot in the rear of the building to the front entrance. Along the way, weeds were growing high. Inside, we received a friendly greeting and were taken to a booth in front of a window. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, but the low lighting seemed out of place in the afternoon. The food was good. To start, we ordered tuna tartare, which was served between creamy avocado and crunchy caviar. Lunch was a generous portion of level 5 heat green curry shrimp.
I have been a fan of wild ginger for YEARS!! I used to love their Pho and other dishes. Recently, it had felt their quality has gone down. I tried their shrimp pad Thai and I did not like the taste, the shrimp also was so overcooked that they were falling apart. I just got their shrimp pho for takeout, my favorite item…and I’m disappointed. The shrimp look smaller and are overcooked and there’s no flavor in the broth. Disappointing because I love wild ginger. The photo on the left is what their Pho used to be, the one on the right shows how mangled and overcooked the shrimp is.
Getting delivery is not a bad experience! Sadly, the hibachi Grill show was very simple and didn't feel worth the 20% gratuity added on for the show. there are only two Hibachi stations, so reservations are required for only a total of 12 seats. Parking is located behind the restaurant, and it's a small lot.
This place was ok. I got the vegetable dumplings, cashew nuts, pomegranate margarita. The waitress asked me how spicy I wanted my entrée and I told her 3. Well there was no spiciness at all. So I guess next time I will have to increase the number. The dumplings were good once they cooled down. You should definitely try the margarita.
Sushi and Thai fares are done well by Chinese chef and cooks in the kitchen. Their pho comes straight from Costco’s package instant noodle pho so they spent zero time cooking bone broth. They just give you a lot of sliced rare beef that are cut way too thick. It gets a lot of compliments from non Asians who don’t know any better. Lost 2 stars for fake pho.
Had some good sushi today. Bartender’s first words to me were “you ready?” No ‘hello’, no ‘what would you like to drink?’ Didn’t refill my water - I felt like my presence was a nuisance to her. It’s a shame diners have to continuously deal with service staff that clearly don’t like people.
When they’re good, they’re really good…but when they miss the mark, it’s rough—like tonight. For the price, I expect consistency, but my food was disappointing: undercooked egg rolls, cold chicken pot stickers, and a chicken curry drowning in sauce. Definitely not the standard I’ve come to hope for.
Got pho to go. Noodles were separate in a box. With my bean sprouts, there was no cilantro, no basil, no basil, no hoison sauce, lemon slice instead of lime. I thought, apparently they don't know what pho is. However, the broth was actually very flavorful. Still don't like the block of noodles in a box and lack of garnishments/ condiments... I can't say that I'd go back, but it somewhat suited my pho craving.
Really disappointed, I've eaten here and remembered it differently. I have a bad cold and wanted some pho, this is the closest place to me so I ordered it from here. I ordered my soup online and was told the total would be $11 something. I went to pick it up and paid $16 something for it. When I asked why it was so much higher the person checking me out said as soon as you add meat the price goes up. It says that nowhere online. I didn't make a fuss and brought it home only to find the sprouts were rotten. Those are my favorite part 😔 the meat was not good, it was somehow both soggy and tough. The only redeeming quality was the broth. I've paid less than $8 for much better pho on the west coast where everything is 3x more expensive. This was a real bummer.
I’ve been coming here for years it’s always been excellent, until now. Staff seemed entirely new and we not attentive or accommodating. We had a reservation at 630pm, were called and asked to move our reservation to 8pm. We had no problem being flexible for the restaurant. Unfortunately we were not sat for hibachi until 850pm. To top it all off the hibachi chef was terrible and the food was nothing compared to what it used to be. This ruined my friend’s birthday dinner. I most likely will not be coming back which is a huge bummer, this place used to be awesome
First off my chicken as you can see in the photo below is undercooked. Still had blood in the center. The sushi was mushy. The fried rice tasted bland and not even fried lol. This place is a no go for take out guys. Me and my wife wasted almost 100 dollars worth of food. And to top it off my wife even got nausea only 35 minutes later of eating the food and I had bad stomach bowel movements for the past 2 hours.
Delivered by DoorDash. Nasty smell. Barely any meat. Had to throw it. 25$ in the drain.
We ordered a full dinner for the family on June 7th. Unfortunately, two dishes, ginger stir-fry, did not come and one dish came wrong. We ordered mango stir fry and instead received mango curry. We even paid extra for faster delivery. We are greatly disappointed as three guests will not have dinner. Wild Ginger told us to call Uber Eats to get a refund. But how does this solve the problem? They told us we would have to order again. A good restaurant would have made the missing dishes again and paid to have it delivered. Do not order multiple dishes from this restaurant they can not accomplish it.
Tried Wild Ginger for the first time. Got a takeout order of teriyaki stir fry w/ brown rice & shrimp. The sauce was so watery & sweet. Very small amount of shrimp. The chicken pad thai was very dry & tasted off. Don’t recommend these two items. Maybe this was just a bad experience but the food we received was barely edible and disappointing.
This was the best Pho in Cincinnati but now lately they have really gone down hill. I ordered this dish several times and most of the time they don’t add the sauce or they don’t add the basil, which makes the dish. Additionally, the meat is basically rubber. I’ve even go as far as leaving a special note to my order and call ahead to make sure they have it and my ingredients still are not included. I called back to voice my concerns and was hung up on. I don’t know if there is new staff but this place is not what it used to be. I won’t be coming back after so many let downs.
I dined in for lunch here. While the hostess greeted me, the server was most unfriendly. She seemed annoyed that I was there. It took a long time for my food to arrive. It was a simple Noodle dish, so nothing amazing, though nourishing. She never came by to ask how it was. I had to get up and ask for some hot sauce, which interrupted her time on her phone, on speaker no less. The bill was brought, again with no question of satisfaction. She asked if I wanted change for a $20 for a $14 bill. Really?? I still left a tip, but not my usual 20-25% because it just seemed like she didn’t care at all. I’ve had a fine meal here in the past but won’t try it again.
Food was pretty bad. Quality was extremely poor. We also had several in our group get upset stomachs, and not from sushi… noodle bowls of all things.
Awful awful experience: Food was cold, pad Thai had no flavor, took forever to get food and of course they argued with me that everything was fine. I’ll never return
Truly horrible. The absolute worst pad Thai I've ever had. The stir fry both looked and tasted like it was made in a microwave. Both dishes were almost completely bland except for a faint plastic taste that reminded me of hot Ziploc bags. I felt bad about throwing it all away but my dog wouldn't even eat it.
