Best tacos I had in CDMX. I dropped by here nearly every day of my trip. You ever eat something so delicious that you audibly make weird moaning noises? No??! Me neither,,, that is until I had one of these tacos. So freakin delicious. I didn't even know what I was eating (in terms of meat selection) -every time I just asked the owner to choose for me, and every time it was delectable. There's a sign on the wall for which parts of the pig you can order, but I totally loved just having the owner surprise me with the various combinations of deliciousness. One morning I got there kind of early and was watching him prepare the day's food. He starts his day around 4am preparing/cooking everything in this huge vat filled with his secret ingredients. Around 8 or 9 am he drains off the liquid, and transfers the meat to the warmer for the day. Once you put in your order -everything gets chopped up and thrown onto the plancha. In a minute or two -it gets to that magical consistency -with the tenderness of the slow cooking and the crispy bits from the plancha. I think he said he has been selling tacos for 40 years -and you can absolutely feel his passion and his love for tacos. Also, even with my broken Spanish, he was so kind and full of smiles. Make sure to tip the owner big-time as his tacos are worth way more than 15 pesos he sells them for!

Best carnitas tacos you’ll ever have and super friendly owner/regulars that helped me figured out what to get! My favorites were the costilla(rib) and cuero(fatty leg meat). Super affordable too but bring cash!

Absolutely the best carnitas tacos I've ever eaten. The tortillas, the meat, the salsa. So fire. If youre into fatty buttery deliciousness, definitely try the cuero taco. The quality of the food is barely beaten by the quality of hospitality and friendliness of Ruben!
