Unique experience that unveils traditional Mexican with french technique and modernity, delivers amazing taste and beautiful presentation. Great cocktails too. Highly redeemed. Expensive but way better cost/benefit than the ultra famous Quintonil and Pujol.

The service was very attentive and professional. The menu seemed to offer a wide variety of flavors and styles without being overwhelming. I can’t believe I ordered a cheeseburger, but it was the best one I have ever had in my life. Wines were very reasonable, and the cocktail menu was inventive. We had the onion, ham and guacamole as appetizers. The red snapper and beef tongue was proclaimed by the others to be amazing. The vibe of the restaurant was upscale and avant-garde without being stuffy.

Still thinking about Máximo. The service? Impeccable. The vibe? Everything. This was my second time in CDMX and it was the one spot I had to come back to. We finally had time to try more of the menu and… wow. That lunch lives rent-free in my mind. Now someone tell me how to secure a dinner reservation next time 👀

A beautiful fine dining restaurant in Roma Norte, Mexico City. I shared a tlayuda for a starter, had Wagyu tongue with mole as a main, and also shared a dessert at the end. The cocktails were as good as the food! Reservation strongly recommended (I came without one and waited for about an hour, whilst having my first cocktail).

An absolutely delightful experience dining at Maximo. The food and ambiance were fantastic However, the thing that stood out the most to us was the level of service they provided. We will definitely be visiting every time we are in Mexico City and speaking about the restaurant to all our peers. We do recommend trying the following menu items: our absolute favourite flavours and textures we found in 1) the Taglietelle oxtail beef ragout and 2) a dessert item - the tarte Tatin. (Both in photos)

One of the best meals I've ever had! The restaurant is beautiful. The food is just as beautiful and delicious. The clarified mango cocktail was amazing. The octopus ceviche was some of the best octopus I've ever had. The blue cheese salad was THE BEST salad I have ever had! The lengua with mole for my main was easily the most tender lengua I have had and the mole elevated it to a completely completely different level. Definitely likely to be the best meal we'll have in CDMX.

Beautiful space and delicious food. Wonderful service. We tried most of the menu and had a hard time deciding on a favorite dish. The only thing we didn't like was the dessert, and I can't remember what it was called.

OMG! Maximo in Mexico City is totally my vibe! The ambiance is chef’s kiss—like, the vibe is just so on point. Whether I’m hanging out with my girls for a fun meal or on a cute date with my boyfriend, it’s perfect. For real, the atmosphere alone is worth 30% of the bill—totally not a waste! The food is awesome too! The scallops are so fresh, they taste sweet like the ocean, and they’re super tender and bouncy—I’m obsessed. And don’t even get me started on the lobster risotto! They paired it with saffron, which is such a cool idea. Every bite is so flavorful, I basically devoured half of it in no time. Later I found out there are over 20 people in the kitchen—no wonder they’re crazy busy but still make such good food. That’s so impressive!

We loved Máximo so much that we went two nights in a row. The food is impeccable—every dish, from the wagyu beef to the quail, sashimi, pastas, and desserts, was absolutely perfect. Service is warm and professional, and the whole dining experience feels special, down to the smallest details. One thing to be aware of: when we first asked for water, they brought bottled water without offering the option of free filtered water. It ended up being quite pricey (about $40–50 CAD for four bottles). The next night, we asked for filtered water and they happily provided it. It would be nice if they offered both options up front. That aside, Máximo is absolutely worth its Michelin star and is one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Mexico City. Highly recommend!

Holding a Michelin Star, we were expecting Maximo to be better than it was. It was one of the more expensive meals we had in CDMX, and we'd been excited thanks to all the hype online. While the food was good, the service was certainly lacking. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time, and despite ordering a la carte options quickly, it took what felt like forever for our food and drinks to arrive. Appetizers were brought out as they were ready, which left some of us without appetizers while others ate theirs so they didn't go cold. It wasn't as big of a deal for the appetizers as it was for our entrees though, and despite waiting over 30 minutes between apps and entrees, and we were all surprised when the entrees were delivered one at a time with multiple minutes in between. With only four of us in our group, we thought the timing of things was really disappointing, along with the length of the meal, which took over two and a half hours. Despite the food being good, it was overshadowed by the poor service and timing, and overall, Maximo felt like a miss and for the high cost. We wouldn't go back again.

WOW, this was a special, well crafted and tasty lunch. One of the best I experienced in CDMX. I had roasted beets, organic apple vinaigrette, celaya goats cheese & white grapefruit, then red wine braised chicken & parmesan risotto, and finished with chaurand goats cheese ice cream, phyllo, guava & olive oil. They also served the sour dough with eggplant ash, goats cheese, garlic & olive oil spread. The restaurant looks great, has a relaxed but professional vibe and the staff were very welcoming.

We went with my husband and really liked the atmosphere. The starter was very good, and so was the bread. I think we should have ordered dishes from the menu because they offered us daily specials that were not listed, and it ended up being extremely expensive. They weren’t anything special, some pasta with lobster that was a bit too salty and very overpriced for the quality. The service was very good. We didn’t leave very happy, unlike other places where you walk out feeling like you’ve had a real experience, even while spending less.

Service was mid for a Michelin starred restaurant. However, the food made up for it. The highlight for us was the octopus ceviche, guac and the goat cheese + guava dessert (probably one of the best desserts I’ve had in a while).

Good but not worth a second visit. The food was good, but the service and attention to detail were lacking. We went for the tasting menu right at opening. The hall manager greeted us and, while deciding where to seat us, swirled her finger on the screen as if leaving the choice to fate. Out of all the empty tables, she placed us next to the bathroom. Disappointing, but not a big deal. When the food arrived, the plating was noticeably weak. There were bread crumbs on the cutlery even as it was being replaced between courses. Caviar was spilled outside the main “mountain”. The cloth used for the tostadas was stained. Several plates had stray bits of seasoning around the edges. I realize I am nitpicking with that last point, but for a Michelin restaurant, more is expected or perhaps this is why they only have one star. The servers explained the dishes adequately, but they skipped details and generally seemed rushed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but for the price and the reputation, I would rather try other places. I have been to restaurants in the area with far better service and much stronger attention to detail. The saving grace was the ingredients and atmosphere. The ingredients themselves were high quality, but the overall flavors were not especially impressive. Simply good. We enjoyed the meat and desserts at the end. I forgot to take a picture of the miso ice cream which was excellent. The atmosphere was amazing, the establishment itself is beautiful and well decorated.

Ordered the tasting menu and it was good overall. The wagyu steak and the sorbet ice cream were amazing. The lobster and caviar in toastada were fresh and tasted good. The white fish was very soft and cooked well. The abalone in the soup was great as well, not hard at all and soft to chew. All the ingredients tasted super fresh and high quality. My favourite was the roasted eggplant dip (not part of tasting menu).

We had a pleasant experience at Máximo — good food, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. The portion sizes are surprisingly generous for a Michelin restaurant, so two people can share about five dishes and feel full. We paid just over 3,000 MXN for two, which makes the value quite reasonable. Highlights: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Steamed red snapper — best dish of the night, super flavorful Least impressive: ❤️Scallop aguachile — least memorable but the most expensive dish Overall, Máximo delivers a solid meal with creative plates, but not every dish is a standout. Worth trying once, especially if you’re exploring Roma Norte — but not a restaurant I’d rush back to.

Called twice, tried to make reservation for my birthday, but reception always hung up on me at first 10 seconds, I did not even fully speak for reservation request, extremely disappointing for first impression on this restaurant, not sure if over hyped, worth to try. Updated: Made it to try the food, it is, over hyped, order 4 dishes, scallop and octopus tasted very mediocre, not fresh at all, beef tongue too sweet, cheese burger too moist, running over your fingers when held it. Service totally sucked, inattentive, waited over 10 mins to order next dish, desert, no smile, very slow. Overall, not worth to try at all, wasted money and time.

I decided to splurge tonight and get the white truffle risotto. Instead, I believe I got a black winter truffle. The risotto was also a bit under cooked so I sent it back and it was remade with the correct truffle. It tasted worlds better. I'm very disappointed with this Michelin starred restaurant to use the wrong truffle. I pointed this out to the waitress who grabbed the manager, and she refused that it could be a black truffle. Can you believe she said it turns brown when heated? I have posted my photos so you can decide who's right.

Terrible experience, Ive been here a couple of times and it has never been outstanding but honestly Ive never tried the burger (that is supposed to be wow) so I decided to come back. As usual, they have some good plates and others below average. Onions are always good, mashed potatoes and cream spinach were very good as well but all the main dishes were very bad (including the rib eye) and the burger is commentless. The terrible part of this last time is the amount of mosquitoes they have in the restaurant, it is really annoying to the point we asked for something to avoid them like a special candle or something but instead of that the manager laughed at us and ignored us by saying they had the roof open so he couldnt do anything and was not able to put any candles because of the restaurants aesthetics. Definitely, another starred restaurant that is not worth at all
