My favorite spot in Mexico City! Delicious food, thoughtfully prepared with a strong commitment to sustainable production methods and a solidarity economy. The coffee is exquisite. A place where neighbors gather to chat and enjoy good food. Long live Pausita!
A super cute and peaceful food stand for breakfast or lunch. I was visiting Santa Maria La Ribera and was lucky enough to find this gem. The guys who prepare the food and coffee are very friendly and made me feel right at home. They became my friends, and I really enjoyed chatting with them. And the food was delicious. I discovered unique flavors, like the hibiscus enchiladas, which I never imagined existed. Thank you so much for everything, and I hope to return someday!
Very friendly service and delicious food. What more could you ask for? I haven't tried everything they offer yet, but I'm eager to.
Excellent place for a delicious coffee! The staff is very attentive, and the coffee is freshly ground. The flavor is (in my opinion) unique and very rich. Highly recommended, literally for a break from whatever you have to do.
Pausita Café – A Corner with Soul in Santa María la Ribera 🏘️ Space & Essence Right on Manuel Carpio Street, you'll find this charming corner: a coffee cart that exudes neighborhood spirit, with a warm, relaxed, and welcoming vibe. The name “Pausita” comes from the kanji 休憩, which represents a brief rest to recharge. This project began as a “hidden café” in Ximena and Ricardo's home, and today it's a haven of flavor and community for those strolling through the neighborhood. 🍵 Must-Try: The Cocotte I tried their cocotte, a drink infused with coffee, cinnamon, cloves, and piloncillo (unrefined cane sugar). The blend is harmonious: the sweetness of the piloncillo and the spicy notes enhance the coffee without overpowering it. It's a comforting drink, like a warm hug to be savored with every sip. 🐰 The Eye-Catching Bread The teporingo-shaped bread is as tender as it is delicious. Made with rice flour and a touch of vanilla, it has a light texture and a delicate flavor that pairs perfectly with the cocotte. Its bunny shape, a symbol of Mexican wildlife, makes it a charming visual detail. 🌮 More Than Just Coffee In addition to coffee and bread, you'll also find tacos, sopecitos, and artisanal sodas, all prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The entire concept revolves around homey hospitality: the team describes it as an **extension of their own kitchen**, where every customer is welcomed like family. 💫 Why Return? 🏡 An intimate and homey space that feels more like a gathering of friends than a business. 🇲🇽 Recipes that celebrate tradition with an original and loving touch. 🤝 A project committed to its environment, supporting local producers and strengthening community ties. 🔎 Considerations: The place is small, ideal for short breaks. Limited hours: Wednesday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm / Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. 🌟 Ideal: Visit during the week in the morning to avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful experience. Take the opportunity to try other breads and the daily specials. Don't leave without chatting for a while: each visit is an invitation to reconnect with the simple and the human. 🌟 In short: Pausita doesn't just serve coffee and bread. It offers an intimate and distinctive experience, with flavors that evoke tradition and an atmosphere that makes you feel part of the neighborhood. It's more than a place: it's a moment for yourself.
It's my favorite place, Ximena and Ricardo are extraordinary hosts, they make you feel at home, their coffee selection is exquisite and the techniques for preparing it, ufff, it's worth visiting.
A low-key spot, but a true gem in our beautiful Santa María La Ribera. Everything you order is delicious and prepared with care and attention to detail. Don't rush; take the time to watch them prepare your food or drink, and you'll understand why it's so delicious. It's not open every day; I believe it's only open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Thank you for existing, Pausita Café! 🤗
A gem in the neighborhood. It's worth the wait every Wednesday to discover their weekly menu. Food and coffee made with love and care. Their collaborations with businesses in Santa María and surrounding areas add to the quality and community-building spirit. A great selection of music and content to listen to while you take a break from work or bond with the neighbors who gather there. Love, Pausita. 💛
A great little spot in Santa María. You can get a delicious coffee or any of their other drinks (the coffee with 🍋 is truly amazing). A great place to connect with neighbors and disconnect, even for a little while, from the hectic mornings. The dishes are vegetarian and their prices are super affordable. That, combined with the ingredients and careful preparation, makes for a delicious lunch. Make sure you leave room for the delicious pan dulce. Long live the little break!
It's a great little place to grab a cup of coffee and pair it with a selection of bread, cookies, or something from their varied menu. Always check their social media channels to see what's on offer that day, as they change their unique dishes daily. It's vegetarian. Don't be intimidated by the thought of eating at a street stall; spending time there is very pleasant and enjoyable. Depending on the day, they may have activities for locals and visitors.
Delicious espresso, peaceful vibe. Observing the gentle, methodical nature of the hand press is a soothing way to start the day. The honey cacao on brioche is ambrosia. I'd be here almost daily if I lived here.
Tacos with a vegetarian option and specialty coffee that deserves more than five stars. Proving that vegetarian doesn't have to be just salad or cooked vegetables, each taco has a special touch. The coffee comes from diverse origins and is brewed using various methods to offer a flavorful cup. Congratulations to @pausitacafe
Imaginative proposal. I'm glad they consider vegetarian cuisine as part of street food. The only downside is the informality of the business. They seem to open whenever they want. I won't be able to make it my weekly go-to.
Good idea, but terrible service. My experience was that they didn't have change. The girl behind the bar assumed it was my problem and didn't bother to resolve it. Luckily, someone with me had a 50-peso bill, which she snatched right out of my hand. Anyway, she never came back, and that was that.
