Best food I’ve had since I’ve been here! This is traditional Peruvian cuisine, so so good. Excellent service, everyone was so friendly and attentive. I will be coming back before I leave.
Was craving Peruvian ceviche and found this place! We were able to be seated quickly upon walk in. A bit more upscale in price but really enjoyed the ceviche! I got the clasico and my friends got the apaltado (has avocado and grilled octopus) which we all enjoyed. My friend also got nikkei which had slices of tuna (portion was not enough for a meal). The dishes were moderate in size, I was left satisfied but not full. Complimentary corn nuts. We sat outside (lots of people passed by trying to sell us stuff) and it started to rain so they pulled down the covers for us. Service was decent! Overall scratched my itch for classic Peruvian ceviche!
As I meandered through the bustling streets of Ciudad de México, the vibrant energy of the city seemed to pulsate through the air. It was an early evening in the heart of the city, and I was on a mission – a culinary mission, to be precise. My destination? Yakumanka, a gem of a restaurant renowned for its Peruvian cuisine, a place where the flavors of Peru dance harmoniously with Mexican zest. Stepping into Yakumanka was like being transported to a coastal haven in Peru. The decor was a tasteful blend of rustic charm and modern elegance, with vibrant colors that echoed the spirit of Lima. The air was scented with the tantalizing aromas of spices and fresh seafood, a prelude to the gastronomic journey I was about to embark on. Greeted with the warmth typical of Latin hospitality, I was ushered to my table. The ambiance was lively yet intimate, with the gentle hum of conversation and clinking glasses setting the perfect backdrop. As a wine enthusiast, my attention was immediately drawn to their wine selection – an impressive array of choices, each promising to complement the Peruvian flavors perfectly. I began my culinary adventure with a Pisco Sour, the quintessential Peruvian cocktail. Its smooth, tangy taste with just the right kick of Pisco was a delightful start. Then came the ceviche – a dish that I believe is a true test of a Peruvian kitchen's mettle. The fish was impeccably fresh, each bite bursting with citrusy zest, harmonized with the subtle heat of aji peppers. It was a melody of flavors that danced on my palate, setting a high bar for the courses to follow. As a gourmet foodie, I was keen to explore the depths of Peruvian cuisine, and Yakumanka did not disappoint. The Lomo Saltado was a revelation – tender strips of beef wok-fried with a medley of vegetables, the savory juices melding with the earthy notes of the rice. It was a dish that paid homage to Peru's culinary heritage while subtly nodding to the Mexican love for bold flavors. The star of the evening, however, was the Arroz con Mariscos – a dish that encapsulated the essence of the sea. The rice, infused with a rich seafood broth, was a bed upon which a variety of seafood reclined, each morsel cooked to perfection, resonating with the freshness of the ocean. Pairing these dishes with wine was a journey in itself. The sommelier at Yakumanka was knowledgeable and insightful, suggesting pairings that elevated the dining experience. We had the opportunity to pair with Casa Madero V. Casa Madero V is a wine that commands attention. It's perfect for those moments when you want to indulge in something truly special. Pair it with hearty dishes like grilled meats, rich stews, or a flavorful cheese platter. This wine is not just a drink; it's an experience, one that will stay with you long after the last sip. Cheers to the luxurious journey that is Casa Madero V! As the evening wound down, and the last bites of the sumptuous meal were savored, I reflected on the culinary journey I had just experienced. Yakumanka was not just a restaurant; it was a celebration of cultures, a place where the soul of Peru was interwoven with the spirit of Mexico. It was an experience that spoke to the heart of a foodie and wine lover, a testament to the art of cooking and the joy of dining. Leaving Yakumanka, I carried with me the flavors of Lima, the warmth of Mexican hospitality, and the satisfaction of a culinary adventure well embarked upon. It was an evening to remember, a gourmet experience that would linger on my palate and in my heart for a long time. Probably best Peruvian Restaurant in Ciudad de México... all the other restaurants try but this is the authentic Peruvian restaurant in Mexico, right up there with the Pisco restaurant. The others are an attempt to copy them.
Amazing! Beautiful setup! Mainly seafood. Great pisco! Wish it had more authentic Peruvian options. The shrimp were good but the crab was too small and not meaty at all. The picarones were spot on. Great Peruvian food in Mexico! O and they'll bring out the fish so you can see how fresh it is. Felt I needed to update. This place is still AMAZING 👏 😍! They even added a few things and they're so good. Even during all this covid they're doing an awesome job 👌 ! They really know how to make a delectable ceviche seriously! They're consistently so delicious. Just wish they had picarones right now... Este lugar es maravilloso. Hasta han agregado unas cosas y también son buenas. Durante todo esto de covid están haciendo un muy buen trabajo. Ellos si saben preparar un ceviche delicioso. Solamente hubiese querido que tuvieran picarones.
Amazing ceviche spot! I would dare say this is the best Peruvian place in Mexico City. The line is always long - we waited 45 minutes but it’s worth the wait. I would recommend ordering to share so you can try everything. The Peruvian ceviche and tuna tamarind tiradito are a must, those two dishes were our favorites. I wouldn’t order meat - it was a bit tough; stick to seafood which is their specialty. Prices are fair.
Had the Lomo Saltado which was excellent! Food and drink were delicious and service was very friendly! Highly recommended place to visit!

They really know how to represent Peruvian flavors, well plated and vivid colorful dishes. Excellent service and cool restaurant atmosphere.

Very fresh peruvian seafood dishes. The sizzling shrimp dish was excellent, but be aware that it could become overcooked if you leave it on the sizzling plate for too long— eat it quickly! The yellowfin tuna tostada was just okay, i didnt enjoy the hard corn kernels that came with it. The shrimp at tacos were good but too small to enjoy fully. Service was great and I enjoyed the marine vibes of the restaurant
Food was delicious! Can’t go wrong if your in CDMX and craving some legit Peruvian food by famous Chef Gaston Acurio. Ceviche was a favorite and so was their hidden menu item tallarines de lomo. Will have to try their anticuchos and empanada next time. Wished they had Peruvian yellow aji.
Great Peruvian restaurant in the city, it was superb. We had the tequeños as a starter, they are filled with beef and wrapped in flour tortillas with a red pepper sauce. The filling was very flavoury and the sauce was an excellent complement. Then we had the Causa Miraflorina, Chaufa tapado and Seco de Asado de Tira. The causa was a delicious, the combination of potatoes, avocado, shrimp and quail eggs with cocktail sauce was bang on! Then my favourite dish of the njght was the chaufa, the explosion of flavours in that rice is definitely something that will bring me back to this amazing place! What an experience! The seco was the weakest link in our order and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars (it should be 4.5. Service was excellent and so were the drinks. We didnt have the ceviche but would be deffo on my list next time I go.
Authentic Peruvian food, good menu options. Food is fresh and yummy 😋 Drinks are serve right away they have cocktail options and wines We have been here a couple of times Service is good, staff is friendly and attentive Seating is comfortable and the place creates a cool atmosphere. The location is very convenient In Roma neighborhood. My friends favorite is tuna tostadas and octopus 🐙 the sauce they serve at the begging is very 🌶 spicy so be aware
big selections of seafood dishes. got the verde seafood ceviche (good and fresh), reina clams grilled in butter (so good), squid ink rice (decent rice but the squid meat wasn’t so creative in this dish), calamari hot plate w/ corn (not bad but where are the tentacles?), grilled/steamed whole red snapper (chimichurri sauce was too salty but fish was decent).
Came for late lunch and this place is really popular. Had a great outdoor seat. Staff routinely checked in how I was doing. I had the chafu and the Lima-CDMX ceviche. All tasted really fresh and there was a lot of shrimp/fried fish in the rice. The only issue was the rice tasted a bit undercooked. The portion was large enough to make an extra meal out of it. They also had a pretty unique cocktail list.
Nice place with good food and good service. The octopus anticuchos were delicious; the classic cebiche and the suspiro limeño were very good; the tiradito chalaco, the causa limeña and the picarones were good; don't get the squid sanguche. Astrid y Gastón is better, although more expensive.
We attempted to have dinner here. Hostess and server were extremely rude. Fish in ceviche was so tough we couldn’t chew it. Literally spit it into a napkin. The manager came by and got us another Ode…

Non-Spanish speaking tourists beware. Dishonest and discriminatory practices. We ordered seafood rice, and when it came out with only fish, we asked the staff to make sure. He insisted there was only fish in the dish. We then asked to see the menu and showed him that it clearly stated “seafood rice”. He then agreed to take the item back to the kitchen. They added 2 pieces of shrimp and thin slices of squid and had us wait another 30min when the initial dish had already taken 30min. How does the kitchen and wait staff not know what is in their signature dish? We also ordered the grilled fish and confirmed it would be a small portion as it was just 2 of us with the waiter, and was served nearly 1kg of fish enough to feed 4. Staff’s entire demeanor also changed when we refused to tip at the end. We looked forward to our first night back in CDMX, and this place left an extra sour taste in our mouths.
