OMG, it has come to Clovis. Pete's Teriayki has a new location in the Target/Best Buy shopping center. On the side of PetSMart. The store front does not have the sign up yet. It's the old mah's Teriaki location. We went in, and the food is as we remember from the Fresno location. Today was its grand opening. It's a must visit.

great chicken and rice I love this places food thanks Pete for your creation.
Decided to stop by on a whim, I was hungry and it was the first place I saw. I'm not from the area so I didn't know what to expect. I got the chicken teriyaki plate with white rice and tempura veggies. Location was small but clean, service was good. The girl that took my order was very friendly and the food came out fast hot and fresh. It was delicious . My plate came out to about 20 bucks with a drink and extra side of sauce . I thought it was a little pricy until I realized the portions were big. It was enough for two meals. I left happy and full. Will return if I'm in the area again.
Love this place I eat here several times a month large plates . They serve chicken , pork, beef, fish shrimp white rice steamed vegetables or tempura batter vegetables party trays check them out food is great.
I truly adore this place! Their food is so good, they have large portion sizes, and the staff are always friendly. My personal favorites are their beef teriyaki, the special fried chicken, and the chicken bowl. My dad is a fan of their pork teriyaki. Their teriyaki sauce is thicker, more like a glaze which me and my family prefer. I have ordered take out from here quite regularly and will continue to do so.
Not sure why people have had a bad experience here. We have gone to the Fresno one, even before they moved to Marks and Shaw. The Clovis location hasn't let us down. We always order the Teriyaki chicken, half white half dark. We request all yams for the tempura and white rice. We haven't eaten at the Clovis location in person. We always order for pick-up. They always get our order right and there is always enough for another meal the next day. Living in Clovis it is super convenient than driving to Marks and Shaw.

Traditionally, Pete’s Terriyaki is an institution in Frasno. Their Marks/Shaw location has been there for decades. I was so pumped to see they opened a location in Clovis. When they first opened, I think the food quality was better. Tonight, we did takeout and was pretty disappointed. The white meat chicken was so dry, it was like a bad Thanksgiving turkey. Our other dish was the Soecial Fried Chicken, which is the best! Even saying that, tonight it seemed very subpar. They usually apply a fair amount of Terriyaki to the meat, but there was hardly any. The ramakin of Terriyaki sauce that came with it seemed almost jello like. It was not liquid. Could jiggle like jelly. The sticky rice was great and so was the tempura vegetables. Give it a shot.
This place is nice. The bowl I tried was the skinless chicken teriyaki thighs. I do want to try the fish and some other entrees ... but what I tried was delicious. It looked very clean and the young lady was super friendly. I was curious about the cucumbers but for $0.50 for 2 slices of marinated cucumbers was strange. It should be free. However, I'd come here again!

Food was expensive. Teriyaki chicken was rubbery. Teriyaki sauce in to go cup was cold and jellied. Tempura coating was thick and hard. Meal for two was almost $40.

We finally got in but... We tried coming to the new Pete's Teriyaki location in Clovis a few times but it was always packed. I should've expected that, since it has just opened. Today, we had the opportunity to sit and enjoy a mean here. They're were no crowds. Only 2 other customers were seated when we arrived. My expectations were high as I remember how good the food was at their original location but they were not met. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very nice young woman who also took our order. I ordered their Chicken Teriyaki plate with light and dark meat. My husband is a lover of fish and chips. When he saw it on the menu he absolutely had to try it. The portions were generous as always. His order of fish and chips was so big that you could barely close the lid to the container. The quality is nothing like the original location. The tempura had an odd texture like if it had been heated in the microwave. The chicken had very little flavor & was unfortunately on the dry side. The rice was...rice. His fish was crispy but lacked flavor. The fries hadn't been salted but they were ok. You might want to stay away from the tartar sauce. Yes, it was that bad. We finally got in... But wish we hadn't.
I’m disappointed because I loved Pete’s the original in Fresno. I’ve tried the Clovis location twice and both times the chicken has been dry and chewy. The first time I tried it it took about 40 minutes for my order the second time I trade it, it took about 15 minutes, I’m leaving 2 stars because the teriyaki sauce is still good. The vegetables were good. The amount is good. It’s just the quality of the meat. It was so bad I couldn’t eat it. The rice was the best part. It was cooked perfect.
First off this place is ridiculously expensive. You’d think you’d be getting teppanyaki worthy food at the prices they have their food listed at. Nonetheless I wanted to give this place a try and so I ordered a tempura vegetable and shrimp plate that came with white rice. The dining area is small and it was as hot as a sauna in there. Where I was sitting smelled like human urine. Once I got my plate I was disappointed to see just how much unflavored batter was surrounded by the veggies and shrimp. Also, I could’ve choked and died because they apparently don’t remove the shrimp skin before frying it in batter? At first I thought maybe they forgot to peel one of the shrimp but no, all the shrimp were unpeeled. I ended up throwing most of the food away and was extremely unsatisfied for what I paid, $18! I should’ve have complained but I was in a hurry. Definitely won’t return and next time I want quick and good Japanese style food I’ll just go to Mika’s.

We ordered the beef combo: medium. And these guys gave us a medium rare.. all pink!!!! We called to let them know the meat was horrible done, and Angelina said we will give you the refund. Then 5 min later, they called us back saying to take the meat to them right now 7:20pm ( 12/07/24- foggy and cold- I haven’t eaten). Or to save it n a container!!! To take it to them on MONDAY!!!!!! Aaah!! Two days later!!!! We live in the Bluffs area, and they are making drive to take their food Not cooked properly!!! I hope people read this!! And this is how LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS kill the vibe of wanting TO SUPPORT THEM. probably I will never get an answer!! Why do they want the meat back??? Are they going to re sale it?? To someone who asks for a medium rare??? Hhhmmmm??? Good luck!!
This location’s food is terrible. Got the special fried chicken plate. Chicken was overcooked and the rice was cold. Go to the original location in Fresno instead.

I was first shocked at the increase in prices on their food. I’m an original customer of theirs from their old location that was sold off of Shaw and marks. It used to be long wait times and packed. Whoever has taken it over has loss the touch. I was very disappointed in the taste and the teriyaki sauce was not good. If you are looking for a great place to go eat go to Kenji’s off of Bullard and Blackstone. They have great food and way better prices! I will never go back to Pete’s
Terryaki bowl, white meat. This is the second try and the last. The chicken is sooooo hard, chewy n dry. I was very hungry so I did my best with it but boy was it awful!! The sauce was globby but it wouldn't have been a big deal if the chicken wasn't gross.
We came here for lunch many times over the years after “the real Pete” sold his place in Fresno. There was no comparison between the old Pete on Piccadilly and that one on Shaw and Marks. 2.5 years later we are visiting and thought we go to Maws which the real Pete name after his wife on Herndon in Clovis. Now it has his name again, but it’s not the same. The steak taste cheap not like steak and the sauce is congealed. The chicken wasn’t chopped like Pete chopped it. Too much fat in the chicken. No tempura sauce was offered. We had to throw most of it away. Only the steamed rice was edible. We won’t be back
I have bought food from here via doordash but I won't be ordering again after visiting this place in person. Me and my friend felt unwelcomed. we were given cold teriyaki sauce with our meal. I asked if it's routine to give dine in guest cold teriyaki sauce. They said yes and offered to warm it up. I did not hear any other guest ask for their sauce to be warmed up...
My first and last time coming here. Tempura was not fresh, actually worst Tempura I've ever had. Some pieces of chicken were dry some were rubbery. The food made me sick. I think none of it was fresh just reheated. And to top it off it was expensive. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
We used to love this place when it was Mah’s teriyaki. Not anymore. It only took one meal for me to decide that I’ll never return. Worst tempura I’ve ever had in my entire life. I’m looking forward to whatever moves in after they’re gone. Sorry.
