New look and feel and the service was a bit slow but worth the wait. The owner greeted everyone and was on top of everything. My som was a big fam of the Waffle and chicken. Good food and vibe. Still my goto when in cold springs.
We stopped here twice in our day trip to Cold Spring- once for breakfast and another for a drink before we caught the train back to NYC. The espresso martini was delish! And the sweet potato hash - so yummy. The service was very friendly and the place was just so cute. Do it!
My husband and I eat here every week. It is consistently delicious. Definitely the best pancakes in town, whether they are the regular or the apple pie special (pictured here). They have phenomenal avocado toast on fresh local bread. The breakfast burrito and "eggs your way" plates are also our favorites. Plus, the bacon is high quality. It surprises me that this is not the highest rated place in town. It deserves to be!
I have had really positive experiences here - both in a time when I needed a place to land and fill out some unexpected paperwork [and they were kind enough to let me linger], as well as with my pup & partner & being served outside. Contrary to some of the other reviews, the service has been prompt, friendly & warm [even brought some complimentary bacon for pup] - and the food is delicious & well-sourced. Highly recommend the Storm King sammie & as a place to take in Main St happenings. Will be back!
This place was as fantastic breakfast spot definitely worth more like 4.5 stars than the 3.9 it has, in a very cute town, with patio seating, great and friendly staff, and a solid and delicious breakfast menu. We had breakfast there back to back days, and had both chefs omelette and the regular omelette (would recommend chefs omelette of the two, but both good!), good breakfast potatoes and bacon and sausage was great too, pancakes, and breakfast sandwich. Pancakes were huge and very fluffy and delicious, breakfast sandwich wasn't as great and avocado wasn't ripe. French toast looked really good but we didn't try it. Staff were able to accomodate a birthday by putting a candle in the toast and even helped sing happy birthday!
My wife and I enjoyed a leisurely Sunday brunch at The Foundry Rose. My pancakes and her Ricotta Board were very tasty and hit the spot for an afternoon of shopping and hiking around Cold Spring. Sat outside and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere.
I have NEVER reviewed a single place or product before, but this place was seriously amazing and deserves the 5 stars. Some of the 1 star reviews here are shocking to me because my experience here was the highlight of my week. I ate brunch here with 2 friends a couple months ago during peak foliage season and all three of us loved it. I’m not a picky person nor do I have high expectations for food— food is food, I don’t really care about the quality of basic items like brunch, but there was clearly special attention paid to the quality here. Maybe part of it is that their ingredients are locally sourced (which they are!), but all three of the simple dishes we ordered BLEW us away with how perfect they were cooked, seasoned, and prepared. Also, the service was wonderful. Our waitress had a such a pleasant vibe to her that it blew us away just as much as the food did. Finally, the ambiance was really cute and my group and I stayed there eating/talking for like 2 hours (I can’t remember if it was actually that long but still). Loved it.
When we first walked in, there was a weird vibe. Like we felt everyone's eyes on us. So we left. But we came back because the other place was worse. The bathroom doesn't lock and didn't have soap. I got the fish and chips. While tasting okay, the fish was very soggy and had zero flavor, the tarter sauce (which was delicious and I never eat tartar sauce) made it edible, but they didn't give you a lot. The fries were also okay, but again, lacked flavor, so I had to use ketchup to eat it. I did like that they were fresh tasting potatoes, not frozen. The server was nice and did not give off any bad vibes like we'd had before. All in all, I'd come again to eat, maybe it was just weird because they may have been close to closing idk.
CHARMING PLACE; SLOW SERVING. Every time we visit Cold Spring we have brunch here. The price has gone up over the years but what hasn't. The pancakes always good ($17+) and Salmond cesaer salad ($23) was also very good. But once the order was taken it took a little over 20 min to get the food. The place was almost packed with diners so we tried to understand it but an update or two would have helped us not getting frustrated. "Is our order In?" But the portion of the dish, kind smiles from the host made forget all that. Enjoyed our meal.
was seated very quickly and service was friendly! ambience inside is cute. menu descriptions felt like they didn't quite match what we were served (both mine and my girlfriends' meals was mostly home fries) and my eggs were undercooked :( my meal here was far from the best brunch I've ever had, but you know what it gets the job done - fuel for hiking in the area!
Very slow service, which is surprising given the number of wait staff they had and that the restaurant wasn't even crowded. They had a number of younger workers, probably because of the summer season, but they were all a lot more efficient and diligent than the older lady, who seemed to be doing as little as she could and moving at a glacial speed. We were seated immediately, but it took maybe 10-15 minutes to even get glasses of water let alone our order taken. The wait staff were tending other tables, and when we made eye contact with the older lady saying we were ready to order, she said to give her a minute as she took her time to check on a table outside. Another wait staff eventually was able to give us water and take our order. The food also came out slowly. We ordered a hummus platter, the fruit bowl side, and the eggs and hash. The eggs and hash was not bad -- the hash was a bit on the oily side. The hummus platter was just alright -- the pita bread was dry and stale. The lady was nice, but didn't seem to have proper customer service / restaurant etiquette. She just wasn't attentive, didn't have a good second nature for tending customers, and when we were heading out the door after our meal she kind of motioned to give her the right of way as she was coming in, which is a small thing but it surprised us because we thought usually the workers would give their customers right of way. Overall, the food was just average, but given the pace of this place, I wouldn't return here. The younger workers really were apt though, and they were great with refilling our water when they saw it was empty. All the workers seemed to be tending all table without much coordination.
Wanted to like this place but it was disappointing. One of us ordered a $17 burrito and it was sooo tiny, no meat, and did not come with a side. For the price we were shocked. I ordered the worst pancakes of my life for $17. Flavorless and gummy. I told the server and they kindly remade them but they were the exact same. I was told it was just the butter they put on top that made them that way but there is an huge difference between fluffy, cooked pancakes that get soggy and a dense, gummy texture. I appreciated that they comped those on the bill because they really were bad.
Hello. 10.3 I visited your cafe around 2:30 pm and ordered a vegan burger. Since I was very hungry, I had to eat it, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. First of all, it didn’t feel like a burger at all! A burger should have a bun, not just toasted bread with butter. It was really crunchy and my gum were bleeding. By the evening, I started feeling unwell and experienced heaviness in my stomach. I didn’t even eat the fries that came with it, as they were so hard and dry that they were impossible to chew. The mayonnaise also had a slightly sour taste. By the time I returned to New York later that day,. I was feeling quite unwell. Also I sent email and text, but nobody answered
Repeating other reviews on the absurd rude behavior of the staff. Attempted a late lunch here on a weekday. There were more staff than customers. Entered the restaurant and was immediately told to wait outside in the hot sun while several staff milled around inside chatting with each other. Another group outside experienced the same and also left. They need an adult here. The few customers seated seemed despondent and craving both food and service . Can't comment on the food. Went to a delicious experience at Cozy Corner.
