We went to Osteria del Buonumore in Como, Italy on July 30, 2025, and loved it. I had the mussels, and my husband had the pasta with mussels and clams — both were super tasty. Friendly staff! Great spot for great seafood and pasta in Como!

We really enjoyed the polished and friendly service. The food and drink was authentic Italien and the location was grand! We stopped by here a number of times during our week-long stay in Como, and this restaurant became our favorite. Moody and his staff treated their customers with a flair and panache that made every visit memorable. We hope to be back in the future!

Staying at Hotel Como and wanted to walk to grab dinner. The Osteria Del Buonumore was an easy walk and easy to find. We did not have a reservation but were able to grab a quaint 4-top table outside. The Staff was amazing. The food was impeccable. The wine was delish and went down way too easy. The prices are also very reasonable for an all inclusive experience.

I was warmly welcomed and served by a lovely waitress named Rumana (I hope I got her name right!) whose kindness was truly exceptional. But it wasn’t just her — the entire staff and the atmosphere of the osteria were wonderful. The food, the service, the vibe — everything exceeded expectations. This place absolutely deserves more than 3.9 stars. This is how hospitality should be. It was a real experience — heartfelt, genuine, unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Stopped in here tonight and we all loved our meals. The lasagna was my favorite and the tiramisu came in a pot and looked like a plant! Staff were incredibly kind and attentive.

We tried the salmon, lasagne, mussels, fennel and peach salad, carbonara and the ribs and potatoes. All were delicious. Even though this is on a piazza and stays open all day, don’t worry that they cater to tourists trying to eat at 4:30p. Edward our sever took great care of us. We would return. Here’s a delicious wine for $28 euro (see pic).

This place was adorable and not deserving of its current 3.9 rating. The service was impeccable (our waiter gave great recommendations and was attentive, but did not hover) and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed my beet risotto and my friend could not get enough of the tiramisu.

Posto molto tranquillo in centro a Como, a due passi dal Lago. Buon servizio. Personale ai tavoli, forse troppo presente! Ho Mangiato un buon antipasto con salumi e gnocco fritto. Le Fettuccine al ragù erano talmente poche nel piatto che non sono riuscito neanche a degustarle. Devo però ammettere che la parmigiana di zucchine, era buonissima. Buono ma Ritengo che comunque i prezzi siano un po’ troppo alti.

Cibo buono ma nulla di speciale e porzioni piccole. Ambiente curato e piacevole. Prezzi troppo alti, soprattutto il coperto eur 3.5 a persona 🙄

Bella location e locale moderno. Sala interna e dehor esterno (riscaldato in inverno). Ottima la cioccolata. È possibile mangiare piatti caldi. Bagni puliti. Ambiente caldo e gradevole, servizio al tavolo rapido.

Bel posto in una suggestiva piazzetta. Servizio attento e professionale. Cibo buono, forse un po' caro giustificato probabilmente dalla posizione centrale.

Beautiful outdoor dining location. The charcuterie board was amazing and the fries were awesome. Inside was nostalgic and charming. Service was ok. We waited a very long time for our food. Upon arrival it wasn’t as hot as it should be. We had to rush through dinner to catch a train. We would have loved to try dessert.

I came from the street as usual tourist. Having no knowledge what is best to be ordered in this restaurant. The service was good - almost perfect, however, I've expected a higher level of dishes for these prices. Considering the number of positions in the menu, advice: come here if you know what you'll order.

Food was not bad, but this was unfortunately another tourist trap where they put almost 20 percent service charge without making it clear in the menus which is a legal obligation in Europe. We have just been here with our parents and didn't want to cause a scene, but otherwise we would have even refused to pay considering food quality. It not bad and worth exactly what they charge, but the scamming part of it changes the dining experience. I always leave tips when I dine out, but this is customer's consideration.

Food was good, tiramisu was fabulous. The service sucks. The host/ head waiter was really good at drawing you in, but horrible at service. Couldn’t even get my entree ordered because he would look away and be focused on other diners. Clearly favors Italians. If your an American be prepared to feel ignored or neglected. Kinda ironic for a restaurant that charges a $3 service charge per diner. It ruined otherwise a beautiful night with wife, grandson and girlfriend.

Ambiente carino in veranda ma troppo freddo, personale totalmente impreparato, 2 piatti rovesciati sul vetro della porta scorrevole, quelli arrivati erano freddi. Molti piatti e vini a la carte non erano più disponibili. Ho chiesto di alzare la temperatura. Probabilmente il freddo e complice un tiramisù non fresco ho passato una nottata infernale. Non tornerei e non lo consiglierei, un posto accalappia-turisti. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è assolutamente ingiustificato, 165€ per 2 acque e 4 porzioni minuscole di cibo privo di personalità. Davvero nulla di speciale, il cibo non era eccezionale, non ha soddisfatto le aspettative di mangiare qualcosa di tipico della zona come ci si aspetterebbe in un’osteria, l’atmosfera era discreta e il servizio normale.

Credetemi sono appena andato via, il tipo che gestisce i tavoli ci ha tratto come se fossimo al militare, da non credere. Mi spiego meglio, non abbiamo mangiato più, non ci siamo nemmeno seduti. Dopo il comportamento militaresco......

The Egyptian manager was so rude and unprofessional, I just asked him for some explanation in the menu he stated ‘’ You know what is this ? So why you want it ‘’ Especially when he knew that we are from Saudi Arabia and As I see he’s treating non-saudi in proper way. I really was shocked that I got treated like this in Italy. Hopefully the owners can deal with him, if he is having issues with Saudi people.

Not friendly service, we ask only if we can seat somewhere else because it was not reserved, but immediately he said no in a loud voice. He was really arrogant and angry when we have go because of his voice. I have work as a service personal for years and I learned never to be mean for all of mine guest, because I learn the guest is always the king plus the guest give me mine paycheck, if I was you I would not even look at the restaurant!

Terrible dinner. Our first night in Lake Como. The starter of fried gnocci dough was ok but served without salt, pepper, sauce or olive oil. I had to ask. The pasta was clearly not hand made(even though on the blackboard outside they say « fresh pasta ») totally without seasoning, no olive oil, no garlic, the mussels were full of sand. I mentioned this to the waiter who just tried to give me excuses (I’m a chef so I know how to clean mussels). He made an effort to give us a free aperitif but it was still overpriced and tasteless. Ridiculously expensive for store bought unseasoned pasta. What a shame because the location is super romantic. Avoid at all costs.
