Recommended by our hotel (Plaza Hotel Como), my partner Martha and I dined at Osteria La Tana dei Pescatori and had an unforgettable evening. Upon arrival, Dino welcomed us with exceptional graciousness and politeness, making us feel immediately at home. He prepared a special table for us, presented the fresh fish of the day, and assisted in selecting an excellent wine. Dino’s worldly experience shone through as he shared stories of his travels, including time spent in Monterey Mexico, where he learned fluent Spanish—this created a wonderful connection with Martha. The meal was outstanding: grilled fresh fish, calamari, clam pasta, exquisite bread, and a perfect tiramisu for dessert. The entire staff contributed to a warm, attentive atmosphere. It was our first day in Como, and we chose a local Italian restaurant specialising in fresh seafood. The seafood hot plate, featuring mussels, a small lobster, and monkfish, was exceptionally fresh and full of flavour. The seafood pasta had a great texture, with fresh, well-prepared clams. The grilled sea bass was simply done with salt, allowing the natural freshness of the fish to shine through. The service was excellent as well—the waiter was attentive and friendly. We’ve been coming to La Tana del Pescatore even before COVID, and it always feels like coming home. This time I returned again and took my friends with me and everything was just as warm and welcoming as before. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is authentic, and the service truly makes the experience special. A big thank you to the staff — not only were they attentive and kind, but one of them even helped us communicate with our Uber driver in Italian, which we really appreciated. It’s these small gestures that make us love this place even more. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Como!

Second evening I had best fruit de mer in my life. So many varieties of fresh shell fish. Perfect cooking spaghetti. They don’t serve you those bawl of water with lemon floating. What can I say as a foreigner visiting an Italian restaurant in Como, Italy? The food was great just as you would expect. We ordered the seafood plateau which I felt was overpriced but still good. The pasta is worthwhile and the wine is affordable relative to the food. Give it a try on a romantic date or family dinner.

We had grilled squid, Sicilian shrimp, oyster, and raw red shrimp. Squid was grilled terrifically. It was juicy and tender. Sicilian shrimp was also grilled faultlessly. It was sweet and juicy. Oysters were very fresh and had a very smooth taste. Raw red shrimps were ok. The service was impeccable.

Excellent place for seafood lovers. Contrary to another English-language review I read, the staff was very friendly. We went the day Argentina won the World Cup, and the waiter that welcomed us congratulated us on the win when he noticed our accent. The waiter that handled our table was very kind and serviceable, and we had no issues communicating in English. The menu was in Italian, English, and a Cyrillic language (Russian or Ukrainian is my bet).

Seafood lovers, come one come all!!! Beautiful restaurant, cute fairy lights in outside covered seating area. Huge selection of fish-based meals including tartars, fritto misto, grilled fish, pastas, and more. We had a vegetarian friend with us and the chef was so accommodating—they made her a delicious vegetable pasta and a salad on the side. I ordered the pasta alle vongole. The portions were generous and overall, everything was superb including the wine and desserts! We also had the NICEST waiter. He took extra care and attention to show us the wine selection inside the restaurant. Will ask for him when we go back. All staff in general very kind and professional. Looking forward to our next meal here! Thank you!!

We had an amazing lunch here! We were looking for a spot to go to while we waited for the next ferry and we happened to stumbled across this amazing seafood restaurant. The food was incredible! We got a tuna tartare and spaghetti with clams. Everything was so fresh and high quality. We also got the tiramisu for dessert which was delicious.

Ristorante elegante di pesce in centro a Como. Dai prezzi del menù e dalla mise en place si capisce subito che il livello è alto, anche se per esempio la frittura presenta tante lische al suo interno, rendendo metà piatto non facile da masticare. Buona la grigliata di pesce. Vasta scelta di dessert fatti da una pasticceria di zona. Purtroppo non è un ristorante kids friendly: per un bambino di 3 anni ci hanno lasciato solo la sedia, senza apparecchiatura, abbiamo dovuto chiedere noi il bicchiere e per mangiare ha usato una nostra forchetta.

Servono pesce di mare con buona scelta e qualità. Da segnalare menù fisso pranzo a 15 Euro con pagamento solo contanti con ottime proposte. Personale gentile e professionale.

Il ristorante, che propone pesce fresco, mantiene le promesse. Quasi tutti i piatti hanno soddisfatto le aspettative, buoni ed abbondanti, nota positiva: sicuramente la zuppa di cozze; male invece i ricci, assolutamente insapori. Una stella decisamente meritata per il personale: gentile, veloce ed efficiente, cosí come il proprietario. La location è molto bella, in una stradina del centro di Como, un piccolo e curato locale con caldi interni in legno. Prezzi nella media per una cena a base di pesce.

Materie prime di qualità eccelsa, qui non si discute. Capacità del cuoco fenomenale nel preservarle. Servizio un po' confuso e presentazione dei piatti retrò. Prezzi alti ma fa bene, è comunque sempre pieno e non ha una vera concorrenza in centro Como che faccia pesce a questo livello.

Un’esperienza fantastica! Frutti di mare freschissimi, presentati in modo bellissimo. Atmosfera accogliente e servizio impeccabile. Consigliatissimo per chi ama il pesce di qualità a Como!

When looking for a fish restaurant in Como, not so many different options with such a variety of fresh fish and choices (row or cooked fish). On the other hand, I was not impressed. I was there for dinner. Found place without reservation, but strongly suggested to book in advance. We order 2 different tartares as starters (shrimps only and mixed) and we were served pretty fast. Tartares were good and well served, interestingly served on top of fresh chopped cucumbers that made the taste of fish even more delicate. We then had the big plate of mix of gratin seafood (min 2 pax); we were served a quite impressing quantity of seafood, scampi and shrimps on a big plate. Unfortunately the fish ended up in a bit of disappointment. The early bites were showing a pretty “flat” taste (bread crumbles and oil in the gratin were covering the taste of mussels and shrimps) and ended-up with the same repetitive bites regardless the type of seafood we were eating, in spite of having pretty high quality seafood in. We were surrounded by people tasting a similar raw version of our plate, and had the impression it was appreciated more. I could suggest to take these big plates and share in a bigger group as a starter (share plate in 4 people) and then taste other things. I have to go back to have a more complete opinion. We finished with 2 desserts, one creme brûlée and one profiteroles (all other desserts were of good quality -from brand Sal de Riso- but not freshly made in the restaurant. Our choice was ok-ish, but not impressing. We accompanied with water only, but the wine choice is pretty broad. Bill was at the level of the freshness of the fish, so 60+ per persons (nb: with no wine)

Food was alright, but for $140 Cdn for 3 people just for 3 entres and still water, it was a bit much. Also, the seabass I ordered was not deboned properly making it very cumbersome to eat. Strange that vegetables didn't come with the fish entre. So ordering the fish means you only get just the fish, so I shouldn't have assumed that when the server asked if I wanted my veggies grilled that it actually came with veggies. Discovered after seeing the bill that an additional $12 was added for a portion of grilled veggies. Fyi...the price for this meal is considered average for a restaurant at Lake Como, so prepare to pay this amount and more for a simple sit down meal at a casual restaurant.

Bel locale all’interno della città murata. Molto buono il cibo e il servizio. Prezzi un po’ sopra la media (a mio avviso non giustificati). Abbiamo cenato all’esterno e non mi è piaciuto il fatto che tra ristorante e tavoli ci sia un ingresso carraio dal quale escono ed entrano macchine creando un po’ di trambusto. Uno dei tavoli è proprio vicino all’angolo di manovra.

Ristorante che da primo acchito da una buona impressione visiva di se (tavoli e tovaglie, bicchieri,ecc). Purtroppo nel scegliere i piatti ci si rende subito conto che qualcosa non và (come ha fatto notare un altro recensore pochi piatti viaggiano...sotto i 20€ cadauno) dal antipasto al secondo. Scelgo le orecchiette alla Franck (cha hanno un po'... 6 pezzetti di gallinella) il mio commensale sceglie spaghetti allo scoglio. Le differenze erano notevoli come quantità di pasta: le orecchiette erano una porzione un po' "magra" ,gli spaghetti.. lì ho mangiati pure in parte io in quanto erano "abbondanti" (il sugo era anche troppo liquido). Un piatto di verdure grigliate : buone ma niente di speciale. Parliamo del dolce: viene scelto il sorbetto al limone (proposto dal cameriere) che dopo 10 minuti ci avverte che era troppo lungo il tempo per farlo e ci consiglia una coppa di frutti di bosco con gelato alla crema...i frutti erano buoni ma il gelato tutt'altro che della stessa qualità. Conto finale €62: per 1 piatto di Verdure,1 spaghetto allo scoglio, 1 orecchiette alla Franck,1 dolce,1 acqua....fate voi le considerazioni del caso.

probabilmente il cuoco non era in giornata buona... il servizio è buono e cordiale, disponibile e attento ma... il pasto ha lasciato molto a desiderare, non all'altezza di quanto la location tenta di mostrare! può andare bene per il turista straniero che non sa distinguere tra una patata cruda e del gesso ma non per chi ama mangiare bene e vorrebbe togliersi lo sfizio di un buon piatto di cozze!

Locale curato nella qualità delle materie prime, nel servizio e nell'arredamento. Non curato affatto nel clima (gelido e ingestibile d'estate). Inoltre un cameriere, molto raffreddato, starnutiva fra clienti e pesce del banco espositivo. Il conto piuttosto caro. Un'esperienza che non ho intenzione di ripetere.

Nonostante il nome possa evocare un locale rustico si è in presenza di un vero ristorante tendenzialmente raffinato. Visitato nell'estate 2023 ho cenato fuori nella centrale via Volta nel centro di Como. I tavoli fuori sono penalizzati dal transito di veicoli che entrano ed escono dai portoni dei palazzi e che tolgono inevitabilmente quiete alla cena e per questo motivo metto 3 stelle al posto di 4. Il locale è specializzato in pesce ed effettivamente offre ampia e variegata scelta anche con crudi e tipi di pesce non comuni. Il costo dei ristoranti in Como centro è ormai molto alto, spesso ci si imbatte in tourist trap ma nel caso della Tana dei pescatori non ho avuto questa sensazione, anzi. Il servizio è attento e puntuale, non ho aspettato per avere i piatti e la qualità del pesce è davvero eccellente. Le porzioni sono soddisfacenti e non lasciano il commensale inappagato. Ho speso circa 147 euro in due persone per 2 antipasti, 2 portate, dolce e caffè con una bottiglia di vino da 32 euro, che a mio parere presenta, come altri vini della carta vini, un ricarico eccessivo rispetto ai prezzi di mercato. Tuttavia, una visita è vivamente consigliata, dato che in Como un'offerta sul pesce di questa qualità non l'ho ancora trovata eguagliata.

Sulla qualità del cibo non si discutere, provato tartare di scampi, pasta alle vongole e grigliata di scampi. Non è possibile fare una sola critica. Per la mia esperienza il pesce era veramente fresco. L'arredo del locale ed in generale l'ambiente sono ottimi. Si farebbe fatica a non dare le 5 stelle su tutti i punti di vista se non fosse per le cose sotto. La tartare di scampi era ottima, tuttavia una porzione misera per €28,00. I tavoli disponibili lungo il passaggio a circa 80cm dal bancone del bar, dove ero seduto io, sono osceni. Il servizio mi ha stupito molto, freddo, sciatto, approssimativo. Svaluta molto il ristorante. Ero vestito abbastanza confort, in ritorno da un viaggio di lavoro, forse a contributo ad un approccio non professionale. Vado a confermare alcune altre recensioni. Stiamo parlando di un ristorante di medio-alto livello, di osteria non ha nulla. Prezzi di almeno €30/40 a persona. Assurdo €55,00 a persona per una pasta all'astice, per due persone minimo, sono pezzature da 500-600g.

Osteria del Gallo Fritto? Se è certo che i locali a Como a base di pesce siano cadenzati, quest’osteria rientra paradossalmente tra quelli che consiglierei. Ammetto che di osteria ha solo il nome e i calici dato che nè è un locale alla mano sia per clientela, che per servizio, nè il conto ricorda vagamente un’osteria. Per contro non presenta un servizio che giustifichi il tutto, nello specifico se si ordina un buon champagne ci si aspetta per lo meno un flûte se non una coppa… chiesti altri calici (per un altro champagne, non passito), giunti dei piccoli tulipani. Ad ogni modo il pescato è molto fresco, forse il più fresco che abbia provato a Como negli ultimi due anni e presenta una discreta selezione di vini, nonostante un piccolo e spiacevole incidente nella scelta e quanto poc’anzi accaduto. Servizio dinamico e abbastanza attento. Focaccia ottima, idem i tagliolini con l’aragosta e la grigliata. Necessaria prenotazione, non accessibile direttamente con l’auto, ma i posteggi in Vial Varese sono limitrofi. Nel complesso è stata una serata piacevole, le porzioni sono abbondanti e i piatti nonostante i tagli abbastanza comuni, freschi. Venendo ai prezzi: da osteria con i mignoli alzati.

Locale di pesce fresco situato in una zona centrale di Como. Parto col dire che, se amate il pesce fresco, questo è sicuramente il luogo giusto. In cucina hanno sicuramente gente che ci sa fare e il pesce è sicuramente di ottima qualità. Cosa abbiamo preso: antipasto di capesante (1 da dividere in 2) una spigola al sale con contorno di patate, mezzo lt di vino bianco sfuso, 2 dolci, 1 caffè, 1 acqua naturale. Cosa mi è piaciuto: - qualità delle materie - servizio - carta dei vini - velocità nel servire - piatti molto belli e scenografici. Cosa non mi è piaciuto: - parcheggio: inesistente. Ci si deve arrivare a piedi. - prezzi: sapevamo fossero alti. Ma essere alti con porzioni minuscole fa girar le balle. - spazio: in periodo covid essere ammassati come sardine in sala, tanto da doversi spostare per far passare il cameriere mi sembra poco furbo. Visti i prezzi alti mi sarei aspettato meno tavoli, più riservatezza, e più comodità. -caffè -le patate. Mamma mia ragazzi, immangiabili. Per tutto questo abbiamo speso 175 euro. Come potrete vedere dalle foto le porzioni sono quelle. Sicuramente, come detto sopra, il pesce è buono. Ma personalmente se spendo così tanto gradirei quantità e comodità diverse. We went to this restaurant in hope to have a nice seafood meal. The contorni for 8€ each (mixed salad and tomatosalad) were way to expensive for the amount you get. The spaghetti alle vongole were delicious and well seasoned and a decent portion. Unfortunately the fritto misto of different seafood still had the fishbones inside them and i wasn‘t used to having them not removed before frying and especially serving the guest. Tiramisu and panna cotta were okay but nothing special, we had way more delicious counterparts at other restaurants. The ambiance was nice though. Service was decent. Overall, if you like seafood and wanna spend a bit too much money, go to this restaurant. If you wanna eat something better with fair prices, don‘t come here. Best Regards Dze & E

Ci siamo recati qui ieri sera, era da tempo che volevo provare questo posto. Ogni sabato andiamo a provare un ristorante nuovo, quindi ieri siamo andati qui. Come potete vedere le stelle sono basse ma in questo posto non vanno tante cose. Arrivati il cameriere ci dice ‘sedetevi al tavolo numero 3’ senza nemmeno accompagnarci… io non lavoro qui non so quale sia il tavolo numero 3!! Ci sediamo e vediamo il cameriere mettere continua fretta a quelli di fianco a noi. Ok erano del primo turno ma sono stati maleducati e scortesi con la coppia che avevano anche un bambino piccolo in carrozzina. Ci portano le liste e ci viene chiesto subito se avevamo scelto da bere … mi avevate appena portato la lista …. Prendiamo un antipasto (polipo e patate) -patate crude polipo buono. Il tutto arrivato dopo 3 minuti che ho ordinato. (Per farvi capire la fretta che ci mettevano) Il primo era pentette con sugo e trigliette 20 euro per un piatto di pasta gente. Ma non è il costo il problema, il sugo era acqua. A seguire il gran royal di pesce niente di che, era buono lo spada, piatto tiepido che si è raffreddato subito. (Il pesce non era pulito bene) Tutto il tempo ci è stata messa fretta nel mangiare quando poi ci alziamo per pagare ci viene detto che l’avrebbero portato loro al tavolo, ci risediamo e si dimenticano li … Io vi coniglio di rivedere i camerieri, maleducati, ti mettono fretta e ti trattano come se non potessi permetterti quel posto lì. Poi il cliente si porta al tavolo, il vino viene fatto assaggiare, poi versato e solitamente prima viene versato alla donna, idem quando vengono portati i piatti dalla cucina, Il pane viene servito appena seduto al tavolo con le liste non che lo trovo già li, perché ho visto preparare i tavolo del secondo turno dove poi non si è seduto nessuno in alcuni e il pane rimaneva li scoperto per magari anche mezz’ora, visto che il locale e piccolo e lo spazio tra un tavolo e l’altro è minimo basta solo che mi alzo per andarmene e vola un capello dentro lì e non so che figura di fate. Non so con che pubblico avete a che fare solitamente ma così la gente scappa. Totale 100 euro. Esci dal locale che sai esattamente di cucina, come se eri dentro con lo chef a cucinare ☠️ NO NON LO CONSIGLIO, E SOPRAVVALUTATO E NE APPROFITTANO SOLO PERCHÉ SEI IN CENTRO. Ci sono posti più buoni e molto piu onesti sempre lì vicino, e dove vieni trattato anche meglio. Una stella va al proprietario che era davvero gentile, e l’altra per come era arredato il locale. Mi spiace davvero di aver avuto questa esperienza traumatica perchè era da molto che volevo provare questo posto. Per altre recensioni reali e sincere dei locali seguitemi.

La location, sebbene un po' datata, risulta comunque accogliente e ben curata nella pulizia. Il servizio si è distinto per efficienza e cortesia, con personale attento e veloce. Per quanto riguarda la cucina, le proposte gastronomiche richiamano uno stile anni ’80, sia nell’impiattamento che nei sapori. Tuttavia, alcuni piatti hanno presentato delle criticità: l’insalata di mare non era perfettamente equilibrata nella cottura e il sapore non si è rivelato particolarmente convincente. Anche la catalana di scampi ha mostrato qualche imprecisione nella preparazione. Il gran misto di gratinati, invece, è risultato asciutto e poco saporito. Nel complesso, l’esperienza non ha soddisfatto pienamente le aspettative e non rientra tra quelle che sceglierei di ripetere in futuro.

Ho preso 2 primi da assaggiare con mia moglie di cui una fettuccina con lo scorfano quasi inesistente e non molto fresco e comunque molta salsa di pomodoro, pomodorini quasi crudi nel piatto, retrogusto di cappero non gradito, ad ogni modo mangiabile ma qualità/prezzo mediocre; una fettuccina con misto di pesce molto meglio della prima, con crostacei freschi e buon sapore anche se stesso problema di abbondante pomodoro e pomodorini crudi. Per secondo un fritto di paranza pagato molto, pieno di grumi di farina e non tutto il pesce era fresco. Morale della favola 2 primi, un secondo, un'acqua e 3 coperti pagati a peso d'oro. Pranzo scarso e da pochi euro, oltretutto un cameriere (che alla fine mi ha fatto pagare e ha incassato i soldi) non è stato poi così gentile al nostro arrivo per non parlare del fatto che hanno fatto pagare un coperto ad una bambina di 3 anni che ha solo assaggiato qualcosa da noi e ha usato un tovagliolo (per carità, pagamento legittimo però...). Sconsigliato se amate cucinare e vi piace la buona e sana cucina.

We turned up for our reservation this evening but it’s closed for 2 weeks holiday!!!! They had our phone number but didn’t let us know. So disappointed.

We waited for almost 2 hours, and the food still did not arrive. For such prices and small portions, you'd think the food would at least arrive in a timely manner. Do not recommend!
