My husband and I stopped in for breakfast after a camping trip. Now, we have tried many small diners while on the road and we usually choose them based on their claims that they are "the best." So we walked in skeptical but hopeful. The wait was short. We arrived around 9:30 am and within 10-15 we were sitting at the counter. The staff was very friendly. Never let my coffee get to the bottom. When the food arrived and we took our first bites, we were enamored. It really is the best. And it wasn't because we had just camped and were starving! We also ate some amazing campfire food. No, we had finally stumbled upon the diner who deserved to claim theirs the best! The home fries are made the way you want them made when you order from a diner --a perfect combination of crispy and mushy and flavor. I put their gravy over mine and WOW. We will be going back whenever we are in the area. Loved it!!
I traveled through New Concord while taking in some of the sites on the Old National Road. I stopped in New Concord and had a wonderful tour of the John and Annie Glenn Historical Site. It was near lunch time when I finished my tour and one of the ladies at the Glenn Home recommended Scott’s Diner just up the street. They kindly allowed me to leave my car in their parking lot while I walked a couple of blocks to Scott’s. New Concord is a small town, but Scott’s is a great place. Even though I had never been to New Concord before, I was treated like family from the time I walked in until the time I left. The service and food was outstanding. For lunch I chose the Reuben Sandwich with a side of Fries. I have to say the Reuben was fresh and tasty, and I really liked the Seasoning on the Fries. Scott’s is a great hometown diner and if I am ever close to New Concord again, I will make it a point to visit.
I asked for the best restaurant in Zanesville area and Scott's was one of the suggestions. They didn't get it wrong. What an amazing place. We were treated like we come in every day. Service was top notch. The food was superb. Home made corned beef hash. Some of the best I have ever had. If you ever in the area don't hesitate to stop here Can't wait to go back.
This place was great! The food was what you would hope for from a diner, and the portion sizes were generous. Where they shined the brightest was with the staff however. Food came quickly and our server was helpful and great with my whole party including some rowdy kids who were in vacation mode. If in the area, I recommend giving these guys a try.
We enjoy visiting mom and pop local places and Scott’s dinner has quickly become one of our favorite meal stops when returning from visiting family near Columbus. We exit eastbound I-70 at the US40/22 Norwich interchange and return to the Interstate at the first exit past New Concord. US40 parallels I-70 so it’s not really going out of your way. I usually get the cheeseburger salad daily special and my wife and her sister usually get burgers or sandwiches. Portions are plentiful so we occasionally get takeout boxes and have leftovers the next day. The food is delicious and we enjoy talking with the owners. We also get some of their special seasoning and salad dressing to take home with us.
Takes the traditional small town diner experience and takes up a notch... but not to the point of pretentious. The staff (better known as that one guy) is friendly and helpful and the facility itself is small and, as always, immaculate but still retains the simple small town feel. The food is the star though. I've had probably half the menu over the years and it never fails to impress. Every. Single. Time. Everything is always better than you expect and you can tell that every plate has the chefs attention. It's the little things he nails like presentation. Good stuff!
We ate here today, August 18th, for the 1st time. Our daughter is an incoming Freshman @ Muskingum University & we needed a place to eat as the dinning hall was not open yet as of the time we were there. Oh my gosh, this place exceeded our expectations. The meals, although a bit pricey, were well worth the cost. The serving amounts were huge-our son could not finish his omelet & had to ask for a carry-out tray. I am sure we will be back for many more times!!!
This little diner is adorable and so good! I ordered the chili cheese omelet and the Elvis waffle for myself and the portions are gigantic I have food for a week! 😅 It was delicious though. The chili cheese omelet despite the sound of it was incredible and the Elvis waffle came topped with maple peanut butter sauce, bananas, and pepper bacon I couldn't have asked for more. It really is an experience to eat here. It feels like home, the staff is so nice, and the comfort food is well.. comforting, so comforting it will put you right to bed from eating so much. 🤣 Wholeheartedly recommend!
Here en famille on a sweltering summer road trip. Swung by on the basis of google reviews, and it was spot on. Very solid diner, very nice people. We even bought a t-shirt for the neighbor who is looking after our cat. I never buy t-shirts. Really good.
Best breakfast I've had in a long time. The server recommended the chili cheese omelette and I was skeptical, but went with his suggestion. He was right, it was fantastic! I highly recommend this small town gem. If the portions weren't huge, I would've tried more. Great food, and friendly, small town atmosphere and service. You won't be disappointed.
Went in as a total stranger, came out feeling like family! I had the pumpkin roll french toast, with a side of perfectly cooked bacon,a girl can't stick to diet food all the time, lol and my husband had the corned beef hash breakfast. Everything was delicious, we will definitely be going back and sharing the corned beef hash next time. The rye toast tasted homemade too.
We got here around an hour before they closed. The food came out quickly so we didn't feel the need to rush, even though we were told to take our time. Everything was so good and everyone was so friendly.
What a gem of a place. The wait staff was so kind. They walked little elderly men inside the door safely, always smiled and were great with my kiddo.... Who was having a rough day. The food was great, too. The buttered grilled toast was insane. The hash was awesome, the home fries were better than anyone else's. Even the bum in the burger was delicious. This was our first time but we will definitely be back.
Classic dinner atmosphere, huge portions (prices reflect this). Everything we had was deliciously.
Absolutely love this place. Friendly, hard working, awesome customer service. Eggs, bacon and hash browns were delicious and plentiful. Love their season salt. Definitely stop in. Loved the pancake. Also near places to buy pottery
Absolutely fantastic place. Great taste huge serving. People were so nice.
Great creative selections and very filling portions. The staff treated everyone very friendly and made everyone feel at home. Very quick service as well. I should of asked for some jalapenos to put on the chicken and waffle!
This is a great place to grab fantastic meals! Totally worth the drive from anywhere. You will not be disappointed. Must try the Mac and Cheese and their award winning chili!!
Was looking for a local place to have lunch so I checked out the reviews and thank goodness I did. The food was exactly as people had decided. Three of us had the Rueben sandwich and yes it was the best I've ever eaten. Yummy coleslaw too. Very nice customer service! We will be back...

Stopped at Scott’s Diner on my drive to the Columbus Zoo, and wow—what a gem! This place is fantastic. It’s family-owned and operated, and you can feel the love in everything they do. The food was absolutely incredible—classic diner favorites done right. Easily a 10 out of 10 experience. I’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it highly enough. Pro tip: don’t leave without picking up some of their seasoning and sauce on your way out. Game changer!
Absolutely wonderful!!! We drove through this small town and saw this restaurant. As we passed to the east of town, we made a U-turn and went back. We are SO glad we did. The corned beef hash was perfect. As a matter of fact, everything we had was perfect. This restaurant was clean and fresh and the service was better than that! Stop and eat with confidence!
Sure their prices were a little high, but have you seen the price of food these days? Anywhere you go is expensive anymore. What stands out is their friendliness, food quality, cleanliness, service, and food portions. We ordered omelet with hash browns and toast (humongous!), reuben sandwich (yum yum! Could only finish half), chicken sandwich (again only half and yum!), and the burger with bacon and onion rings (which my dad completely enjoyed!). The diner might be smaller than what you'd imagine a diner to be, but it sure packs a big punch! We were just passing through, but I'd definitely go back if we went that way again!
Stopped at Scott’s Diner when returning home from the Pawpaw Fest. The welcoming atmosphere was matched by the quality (and portions!) of the food. The real star however was the owner Alesha (sp?) who creates a warmth and kindness with her customers all while running a smoothly operating kitchen. We will return whenever possible.
Scott's diner ? With amazing food and absolutely amazing waitresses. What more could you ask for?! Maybe longer hours so I can keep coming back during the day 🤤. The girls there go above and beyond for their customers and you can see it. Make sure to stop by here you WON'T regret it ! - holiday jeep.
We ordered the western and carnivore omelet and it was delicious. There was good balance of toppings/fillings in the omelets. Everything was made from scratch. The sourdough bread was amazing Ask for their homemade hotsauce to put on the hash browns and omelet The staff was wonderful and friendly Highly recommend checking them out
We love Scott's Diner. It is a must do whenever we are in New Concord. My kids love their pancakes and chicken tenders.

Nice and clean. Heath our service was very friendly and Informative. This establishment claimed to be the best diner in Ohio. I beg to differ that it was not. The food was plentiful. The potatoes left a lot to be desired with no flavoring and would of helped if cubed or something besides sliced in the corn beef hash. The meat was plentiful. The pricing was average or slightly higher.
Yesterday was my first time there. Overall, it was a great experience. Seating and parking were difficult though. Otherwise the food was great. The service was great. The staff were friendly. I very much want to revisit this place. Pricing may be a bit high for some, but you also get a lot for what you pay for so that makes it worth it. We could barely finish our food. Pictures are of the BBQ chicken salad and the BBQ bacon cheeseburger.
Phenomenal service. Staff is very friendly and it’s very clean place. Today was a Saturday and they close at 2pm and are also closed on Mondays and Tuesdays? Something different for a restaurant but I really cannot remember exactly their closed days. The food is average and decent. Prolly will not go back again as we were traveling by. Women’s bathroom was out of service. They have a tiny gift shop area. Plenty of parking. It’s a small restaurant with inside and outside seating areas to eat at. Service is outstanding. Didn’t have to wait long for our hot food to arrive.

Great little diner! Our son attends the university so we stopped by for breakfast while visiting. Service was great! The menu was small but plentiful. The prices were a little high to be honest, but the food was good. The hash browns were very tasty but I do think the portion was way too much. It was nice to see the place busy with the tables full!

Seated by the waitress saying… just sit here (pointed at a table). I ordered the “specialty” item of sausage gravy biscuit with hash browns. A plateful of garbage woulda been more appetizing. The portion was massive. The hash browns and biscuit were burned and smothered in a yellow gelatinous muck which I assume was considered “gravy” with no sausage in sight. I have never been offended by a plate of food but I was offended. I felt sorry for the workers who actually thought this was food. I tried to be optimistic and powered through a portion of the burned biscuit. Once I removed the mountain of purulent discharge covering the burned items underneath I did taste every item and I have no idea where the taste went. My friend tried the “gravy” and said it was indeed tasteless. She ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was colorful and delicious (according to her). I never been more envious of another soul in my life. Anyway, I don’t think I will ever tempt fate again at this pitiful establishment. This is a brunch restaurant and is small, restocking items were lined up on the bar so no counter seating was available at 12:30 on a Thursday. I truly regretted entering this place. What a waste of $20.
To be fair the food was a 1.5 Although the service was great, the food wasn’t all that. The French toast was wwaaaayyy undercooked 🤢 And for the love of God, y’all can use that seasoning on those potatoes when it’s cooking I instead of giving it to me to do 🤦🏽♀️ The sausage gravy is…. Different Ohhhh our server…. bless his heart, asked if unsweetened tea (my fingers burned writing that) was ok?!? 😳 #NoHoneyItsNeverOk #SendHelp

Took my boys here for breakfast. The only thing good about this place was the service, but it didn’t outweigh the bad. For 3 of us to eat a basic breakfast it was $73. $15.99 for THREE pancakes. Now I will say, the portions are large. But, you can buy 3 times the product for what they charge for one item. Pancakes were soggy, the French toast was super crunchy according to my other kid. Neither of them took more than 4 bites. Typically if pricing was fair I wouldn’t complain but.. especially in this economy when one chooses to eat out and clearly gets ripped off it warrants one. It was $18.99 for my omelet. The portion was huge, and still doesn’t account for being charged that much. I could only eat half because the typical person does not eat that much. $4 for a cup of coffee, $16 pancakes, $19 omelets the list goes on.. And none of the food was out of this world. We will never be back. Save your money and either make breakfast at home or just go to Dennys or Francis's
The prices here are absolutely insane. $18 for 2 eggs, hash browns toast and bacon, $20 pancakes, and the French toast was soggy and raw in the middle. The service was great, but that was it.
Their “speciality” of sausage gravy biscuit with hash browns looked like burned vomit. Nothing appealing about this dish. No sausage in the gravy , I thought the lumps were meat but it was flour balls. This dish is gonna end up doing someone in on the spot. Our table also ordered a cheeseburger which was the most beautiful cheeseburger I ever seen. Restock supplies weee scattered amongst the bar seating and the tables. I had looked forward to going here for the last 2 years. Oh how disappointing.
