Have not ate here in a while because we moved out of town. Stop by to get some sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. It used to be delicious. I think they forgot to put the chicken in the nuggets! Almost all batter. The fried rice was plain and dry. Egg rolls were greasy and chewy. What a disappointment. That place used to be wonderful. It shows when someone else takes control of a restaurant. It's sad. I won't go back

Horrible experience! My mother in law spent $80 here yesterday and now my husband and both of his parents have food poisoning! They've been super sick since early this morning. Please avoid this place. My family has ordered from here for a long time and I never thought we'd have such a bad experience, but it's been going downhill for years. They still have that "voted best Chinese food in Montgomery county 2015 (2015!!!!!)" sign up though. *eyeroll*

I have been eating at China Delight for the last 15-20 years and it was one of my favorite restaurant. I hadn’t been really much in the last 3 years so tonight I surprised my 88 year old Dad with Chinese food. The food was not the same and it must be under new management. I got one of my old tine favorite General Tao’s Chicken and it was not the same. The chicken was drowning with sauce all over it it was more sauce and chicken. I end up sending my plate back for pepper steak and broccoli, onions and carrots. I have to say pepper steak was no better than chicken if not worse. The steak was so tough you couldn’t chew it or cut it. I tried to talk to manager and she just got very upset and argue that meat was fine. In almost 60 years I have never sent food back and tonight I sent two dishes back to kitchen. I have to say China Delight is not the same one that was in Texas Monthly back in 2008-2015. I firming believe it’s food sitting around to long during the day with extra sauce all over it. I know one thing that was not my favorite chicken dish tonight at China Delight. I will not be returning again for 2nd try of any of their food!!

The worst Chinese food ever ate! Chicken was old tasting and it didn’t even look like chicken. I think it was chicken liver! Augh! Shrimp tasted old and nasty! The sauce tasted 5 days old! The fried rice was so bad I had to spit it out!

ordered from here on uber eats/ The food was so gross. The sweet n sour chicken is doughy and undercooked. the fried rice had burned pieces from it looks like the bottom of a dirty pan. The egg drop soup had 0 flavor, 0 salt. Might as well just drink a glass of egg yolks. the eggrolls had the weirdest combination of meats and “veggies” maybe some other stuff idk- the sweet n sour sauce had 0 flavor to it. might as well get water and red food dye and dip away. The cheese puffs were probably the best thing about the meal. $52 dollars for it- and genuinely pissed the hell off

I am so sad that this restaurant isn’t good:/ I was craving wonton soup and fried rice but the food as lackluster…. For some reason the wonton soup tasted like pee which is kinda scary when you are pregnant… the fried rice and crab puffs were lacking flavors. It tasted like the flavors were watered down.. Hunan Village on the order side of 336 by Academy has way better tasting food for the same price value

Absolutely not worth the money or the gastrointestinal distress it incurred. If egg drop soup with the consistency of warm snot is your jam by all means indulge. The dumplings were chewy and soggy at the same time containing little to no actual flavor while their dipping sauce tasted saltier than the tears they made me shed. Moving to entrees I had lost all hope but persevered, the ribs did not fall off the bone but instead had to be torn from the bone as though you were a savage animal while the sauce was so incredibly sweet I may have well drank syrup. The fried rice was brown. The darkest most unforgiving baby poop brown, and tasted like salt and regret. The orange chicken and steamed rice attempted to redeem the meal but overall lacked all luster they stood no hope. Eat at your own peril.

recently visited China Delight and ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken combo with lo mein and an egg roll. The first time I went, the lady behind the register—who I believe was one of the original owners—was very kind and genuine. Although I felt a little uncomfortable when she touched my hair and asked if it was real, I decided to overlook it because she was otherwise very pleasant, and the food was delicious. On today, I decided to go back for the same sweet-and-sour chicken combo. Unfortunately, on my way home, I realized the orange chicken sauce had spilled all over my bag. I turned around and went back to the restaurant to politely ask for a new bag and some new sauce. The woman who helped me was nice, but the man who came out afterward was not helpful at all. He seemed irritated and didn’t try to assist me with repackaging or cleaning up my food. Instead, he came out with a dinner plate, which didn’t make sense since my order was already packaged to go. It felt like he was more focused on rushing me out than actually resolving the problem. Even other customers noticed what was happening and sided with me, which shows how uncomfortable the situation was. I felt disrespected and dismissed. I’ve worked in fast food before, so I completely understand how busy things can get—but customer service still matters. This experience was very disappointing, especially after such a good first visit.

Giving them a 2nd chance, I ordered delivery. Food was hot but the fried rice was NOT fried rice. Just rice soaked in brown sauce. I could have cooked this better. Take your outdoor banners down stating your rates best chinese...SO MOT TRUE anymore.

We have been eating here for years and its always been excellent food and fair portions. Not any more. The food SUCKED, VERY SMALL PORTIONS. Not to mention the order was not correct. Wondered why they weren't very busy. Now I know...they suck! Don't waste your time or money with these new owners !

The 90 yo server needs to retire, she’s quite rude. The moo goo gai pan stinks almost as much as her attitude. This will be the last time I come back. And I don’t know what the hell this soup is…

This was hands down the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. I truly don’t like wanting bad reviews but cheese n rice was this awful! The low mien was basically fettuccine noodles with msg sauce…. The pepper steak wouldn’t even look appealing to a blind person and tasted old and rubbery. The general tso’s chicken was gritty in certain parts and rubbery in other parts. The “fried” rice looked like dirty rice and was very old. I highly recommend the fortune cookies and coke! Everything else was sodium infested and runny and gross… The lady also had an attitude and seemed annoyed to have to attend to us…ALSO! That old sign saying voted Montgomery county’s best years ago should’ve been my first red flag… I wished I had read the reviews…

Upon entering china delight a very rude lady sat us, we weren't greeted she just said "what you want to drink", after ordering a coke, diet coke and a root beer she finally returned with our drinks, 5 minutes later. 10 minutes later she came back and took our order. Seriously? 10 minutes? We were ready to order when we got our drinks, she walked away from us! After getting our meals my boss had called her over to complain about how tuff the meat was, she ordered beef with veggies. The waitress told her to cut it into smaller pieces that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the meat! Again, seriously? My boss couldn't eat it.... The waitress brought our check we paid and left. After eating here for well over 10 years I can honestly say we will never go here again. The service is horrible, the restrooms are disgusting and the food is non edible. I don't know if they've changed owners or just don't care anymore but they won't be getting our money ever again.

We recently moved to the area and we’re recommended this place. Should’ve read through all reviews before ordering from here. I’m not one to post reviews often but wanted to provide our feedback. At first glance, the portions are great but quickly became worried when I could smell the burnt smell coming from the side of fried rice for our youngest. We still gave it a try and we’re disappointed at the lack of flavor in our food. From the sweet and sour soup to the sweet and sour sauce. Our family of 4 was unable to finish our meal because things just lacked flavor or tasted burnt or greasy. Our sweet and sour chicken was soaked in oil that you could squeeze out. I wouldn’t serve this to anyone - $46 in the trash.
