Jeremy was the best waiter! This restaurant is so beautiful. I love the patio seating. The food is really good. Their apple salad was amazing! The only complaint I have is that their chicken is a lot smaller than you would think. Aside from that, their portion sizes are good for sharing, which is what we opted to do. It’s a great place to come for a special occasion ❤️
I really enjoyed my lunch. The pork chops were flavorful and well cooked, and the truffle cake was a perfect dessert, rich and delicious without being too heavy. The surroundings were beautiful and made the whole experience very relaxing. The tea was also excellent, a lovely way to finish the meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with my sister.
Such a great spot! The service here was super attentive and really helpful. Our server walked us through the menu and had great suggestions. The location makes it perfect for a brunch date with your parents, or catching up with girlfriends. Plus, you can take a nice walk through the garden before or after your meal, which just makes the experience feel extra special. The food honestly blew me away. it’s not just pretty on the plate, it actually tastes amazing. Everything felt fresh, high-quality, and so well put together. Only downside? It can be a bit tough to get a reservation, even on a weekday, so definitely plan ahead. But once you’re in, it’s 100% worth it. I’d come back in a heartbeat!
This was my first time there & definitely won't be my last! From the cocktails to the dessert, every sip & bite was delicious. The pork was cooked to perfection, very tender & juicy and the butternut squash enchiladas my friend ordered were very tasty & huge!! Any occasion to go I recommend you go...find a reason, you won't be disappointed!
Make a reservation, don't just show up! The literal best oven fired pizza ever. All the cocktails are amazing, definitely ask the waitress what type you are looking for (sweet, strong, whiskey based etc.) because the descriptions are hard to figure out sometimes. We had a melon based and a lemon based cocktail. Love how amazingly fresh everything is- farm to table with a super luxurious feel. Outdoor tables, beautiful fountains and foliage. Definitely dress up, it is full of casual-chic Irvine ladies who brunch. Expect to spend $50 per person with tip and drinks.
Delicious food and large portions. Definitely worth sharing eachother's plates for a taste of everything. They will even pre-split it for you! I really enjoyed my chicken and fish. Everything was fresh, tender, and filled with flavors.
We went there over the weekend, we were not able to get lunch reservation. But we got 3:00pm lunch. There is a big outdoor garden, good atmosphere, you can buy their plants or some decorations and outdoor furnitures. Restaurant is located inside the Garden, not many tables. Foods are good and delicious. Good vibes and chills.
Rogers gardens is a unique experience. They do such an incredible job with scenery and great service. This review is for the restaurant only. The nursery is equally outstanding. The food was fresh farmhouse style and nothing we ate there was anything but spectacular. I will come back again as the service was tentative and the food and drinks were tasty.
We booked a reservation but it looks like they keep half of the tables open for walk ins. We all had excellent meals. And the dessert was a heavenly berry sorbet. Pictured is my vegetarian lasagna which was a WOW
Nice place inside the garden nursery. Enjoyable place for nice ambience, recommend seats in the gazebo, not under the tent. The special soup was good (fennel and sun choke), the pizza was soggy. Overall it’s a place for ambience, not food.
Would absolutely go back. Incredible experience. Food was amazing. Every meal hit. The chicken, squash, and the salmon. Our host was so friendly. We took their recommendations. Share some dessert!
Exceptionally pleasant garden dining experience. Full bar, cocktails, salads and interesting food options. I had the salmon salad, which was just OK but very healthy. The drinks were fun. The atmosphere is amazing.
The atmosphere was beautiful. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food was beyond delicious! I ordered the pizza of the day. It had apples and prosciutto along with so many other delicious flavors that paired wonderfully together. Definitely save room for dessert! I highly recommend the chocolate cake.
This restaurant is located inside Roger’s Garden. As I walked thru the garden. I enjoy a beautiful scenic garden with all kinds of flowers, plants, cactuses. Those are for sale as well. The setting of our table was beautiful. There was an arrangement in the middle with fresh flowers. Love their deco, ambiance. We were there for lunch/brunch but we also ordered off the regular menu as well. We ordered so much food from Chile Verde to Grilled Asian Beef Short Ribs, Roast Beets Salad which I forgot to text pic lol. Sea Scallops Shrimps Mussels linguine dish, Grilled Hoisin Soy Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Herb Roast Jidori Chicken, Panko Curry Crusted Icelandic Cod, Today’s Pizza, Steak. Couple Dishes of Salad. Overall foods were tasty, beautiful restaurant. Recommend rsvp cuz they are very busy.
I try to review local hangouts more than "touristy" places. As a local, Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens is one of my favorite spots in CDM. The setting of the eatery is COMFY. Despite the large size, the tables are set in small groupings— you’re surrounded by gazebos, kiosk, pergolas, bushes as dividers, so it's semi private.... outside the gardens are sectioned, seasonal décor, and outdoor furniture displays that make the whole experience feel more like a lifestyle, from true grandma to Hamptons looking settings. The atmosphere is casual yet curated, with rustic, eclectic benches and cozy seating that invite you to linger. Chef Rich Mead’s menu is fresh, seasonal, and unpretentious — the wood-fired pizzas, vegetable bowls, and seafood dishes are consistently standouts. Service is attentive without being fussy, and after dining you can wander through Roger’s Gardens for inspiration. It’s the perfect blend of food, and that effortless California charm that makes CDM special.
Martin provided us with an incredible experience today. He kept our drinks filled and had fabulous recommendations. Highly recommend the enchiladas. Everything was delicious, Martin was delightful!
Mirella is super amazing!! Not only she’s professional and super sweet, her recommendations of the dishes are just delicious!! This farm to table is one of my favorites. It’s my third visit here and I’m coming back next week again just because of her :)
Recently, my sister and I went to the Farmhouse for lunch during our trip to Roger’s Gardens. The setting for this restaurant was absolutely lovely and we both love the farm-to-table concept and this location did not disappoint. Everything we ate was bursting with flavor and freshness, our drinks were well crafted, ambiance was stunning and our service was impeccable. Our server, Luis, was knowledgeable and gave excellent advice on the menu, fast and efficient service, and had the best attitude while taking care of us. During my week long trip, this location was easily our #1 favorite spot and I hope I can come back in the future because I can’t stop dreaming about the amazing dishes we tried!
Packed at all times, definitely make The Farmhouse a stop for a great lunch when in Newport Beach. We got lucky and found the last first come first served seat at the bar. Lucky day because everyone else was waiting a long time to get in. They have a great take on American classics. Rest assured, the garden salad is unlike any you have ever tasted with super fresh fruits and veggies that offer tasty surprises bite after bite. Truly no two forkfuls of the salad are the same We got the tuna steak burger and the hamburger. Both are extremely well done and terrifically prepared. I wish I could say why the tuna steak was so refreshingly awesome from the first bite to the last, but I can’t be 100% sure what was in that made it so. And the sweet potato fries? Yeah, you have never had them so good. Delicious. Simple yet sublime. The burger was great too. Yes, there is only so much you can do with a burger, but the fresh buns and toppings with a perfect preparation left me ideally satisfied. Sometimes you get a burger and you are like….. why did I bother? Sometimes you get one from the farmhouse and you remember, oh yeah, I could never get one this frat elsewhere. It’s really really good.
Beautiful garden-esque setting for a romantic dinner date! Their food is delicious, service was great once server shows up. Food is not pricy, quality of food is superb! With great patio setting, it's makes a beautiful place to enjoy the meal. Ample parking, reservations are highly recommended!
Not what I expected in a good way! Food was really good! The ingredients were very fresh and well prepared. I’m a full blown carnivore so I had to get their burger and it was very juicy and their ketchup was homemade and had a nice flavor to it! Portions are huge by the way.
We ordered 2:30 this time. We were not very hungry, so we ordered 3 salads. They were so delicious and the presentation was like a work of art.
Had the short rib special, was absolutely delicious. Also Cory makes some of the best cocktails.
We were able to get reservations at 11:45. Tammy was a fabulous waitress. Very knowledgeable. The settings were beautiful. Sitting in the garden. Nice and quiet and peaceful. We turned the cauliflower steak into a meal by adding avocado and shrimp. A perfect suggestion. Very yummy. My brother had halibut and thought it was delicious as well
Such a charming spot tucked inside a beautiful garden 🌿🌸! The seasonal dishes were fresh and flavorful 🥗🍓. Loved the outdoor ambiance — peaceful, elegant, and perfect for brunch or a relaxing lunch ☀️🥂. Highly recommend!
Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens is truly a little slice of heaven!🌿 The atmosphere is magical✨Dining surrounded by lush greenery and gorgeous flowers feels like a dream. From the beautifully set tables to the warm, welcoming staff, every detail made me feel so special. The food? Absolutely divine! 🥗✨ Everything was incredibly fresh, and you can tell they use the best seasonal ingredients. “Today’s Pizza” was perfectly flavorful, and the Apple Crisp was the perfect sweet finish. Simply unforgettable. It’s not just a meal. It’s an experience. Whether you’re celebrating or just need a relaxing escape, this is the perfect spot. I can’t wait to return and soak in the beauty again!💚
This place is a wonderful gem in the garden. Every dish that comes out is not only delicious but also beautiful and precious. The coffee, in particular, is exceptionally good. It’s a spot our family occasionally visits. We also enjoy strolling through the beautiful garden, admiring the plants, fruit trees, and various trees. From the moment we arrive at the restaurant, we feel happiness. The Arnold Palmer cocktail here has a particularly rich and special flavor. Additionally, every menu item is made with healthy, organic ingredients. The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a dinner paired with wine, making for a delightful and memorable evening.
Outstanding restaurant with a very unique location at a farm. Expensive but a very fun splurge restaurant. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Great location set next to an amazing nursery. The atmosphere was excellent even in the cold weather with the patio seating they had heaters which made everything perfect. Every item we ordered was delicious and very fresh . We had the chicken pate which had some great accompaniments and was served w an amazing rye crostini. The short rib appetizer was beautifully paired w a papaya salad on butter leaf lettuce for some exquisite wraps. For our mains we had the citrus shrimp salad with a large variety of various in season citrus and grilled shrimp. We also had the panko crusted cod with seasonal veggies which was super flaky. For desert we had the sweet potato cheesecake which was an interesting take. The sesame crunchies were delicious. We also had the apple crisp which paired great with the vanilla ice cream
We ate here on a Wednesday about 1 o’clock. We didn’t have reservations, but we were able to get seated at the bar in about 45 minutes. If you would like to sit in the restaurant area, reservations are highly recommended. I took a chance on the pizza with apples and bacon and I’m glad I did. It was really good. I thought the lemon vinaigrette on my wife’s salad was also very delicious. It’s a cool atmosphere to eat, but it was a little chilly with the wind windows open in November so a jacket or sweater is recommended.
A MUST STOP at Newport Beach. The ambiance is great, cozy and romantic with plenty of outdoor space; most of the tables have heaters for winter. The menu includes many fresh and veggie options, and everything is delicious. The Edward mussels are served in the creamiest and tastiest sauce. The killer meatloaf stands to its name. The kids menu items are also all great portion and tasty. Service is always at the best level possible
What a delightful place to share a meal with the family. Granted we had the perfect weather. We wandered the garden prior to sitting for dinner, which adds so much to the ambience of this place. Farm to table food was so fresh. Spaghetti squash burrito was the highlight for me. Tasty and nicely spiced, not too hot. The riced cauliflower had a great texture and was nicely seasoned, didn't realize it was cauliflower
What a great atmosphere and really enjoyed the selection of food. My personal favorite was the paté plate. We got there too late to walk through the gardens, but the restaurant was beautiful.
Ordered Gorgonzola and Granny Smith Apple Salad with grilled chicken. Absolutely delicious! The service was excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant with beautiful floral centerpieces and greenery to view. The food is artistically arranged on your plate, providing a generous serving.
Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing! The scallop, mushrooms and shrimp dish was AMAZING! But honestly every single dish we had tasted amazing. Super fresh and flavorful. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our entire experience at Farmhouse. Highly recommend!
The Farmhouse had been highly recommended by a friend, so I expected to enjoy my meal. Often, even if something is good and even meets expectations, it rarely exceeds them, the Farmhouse did just that. My husband and I proclaimed it our favorite new place and one of the best meals we have ever had. First, Kelly was a delightful and attentive server. She was fun and knowledgeable and made great recommendations. I'm a white wine and margaritas girl. But when visiting a place known for great cocktails I like to try something new...but I'm often disappointed. Kelly suggested a vodka strawberry lemon concoction that was not too sweet and the perfect amount of tart and delightfully refreshing. So good it was dangerous so I only had one. I had the scallops, shrimp and mussels over polenta. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin with parmesan potato cakes, apples and red cabbage. The food was beautiful and so flavorful. My seafood was plentiful and well cooked. The sauce was cioppino style but thicker and was mopped up with garlic toast and incredible polenta. I'm going to dream about that crusty on the outside super creamy on the inside polenta. In fact on each of our plates the sides were the shining stars even though the proteins were outstanding. The cabbage, can you imagine cabbage being so good you couldn't stop eating it!? It was cooked in a soy Dijon sauce, but I didn't particularly detect those 2 notes, just deep delicious flavor. Ditto the parmesan potatoes, the kitchen can really coax a ton of flavor from the sides that are elsewhere often ho hum. We ended with the Basque cheesecake. Such a gorgeous plate and a perfect bite. Each component was essential to the whole and complimented the others. The fresh fruit, cream, crunchy pistachios and graham crumble paired perfectly with the dense and not too sweet cheesecake. It was very different from other cheesecakes and again, something I will dream about until I can return and have it again.
I stumbled upon this place while watching YouTube, saved it, and finally visited it today. I thought it was just a restaurant, but when I got there, I found out they sold everything related to lawns, gardens, and plants. The store was large, and the atmosphere inside was peaceful and pleasant. The restaurant was right next door, and the dining experience felt like eating in a garden, which was lovely. Most importantly, my wife loved it, which made me happy too. The food wasn't bad either. The meat dishes were a bit expensive, but I think places like this are more about the atmosphere than the food itself. I'm glad I found such a nice place.
From the ambiance to the service to the food, this establishment was amazing. We got the Cod and the seasonal pizza, and it was some of the best pizza and certainly the best cod that we’ve ever had. The food had impeccable presentation, and their seasonal apple cider was delicious. Our sever Samantha was also incredibly friendly and sociable, and I would absolutely go there again and recommend it for anybody who would be considering a superb healthy, organic, clean and wonderful dining experience.
Rogers garden is a restaurant/nursery and seasonal shop. It really is the perfect place for a lunch and to walk around with family and friends for a lunch. The food was very good. I had the lg burger which was delicious. Their short ribs were also good. Walking the nursery before and after during Christmas was really special especially at Christmas. The smells were divine
The cod was excellent, the burger wasn’t anything special, and I wish it came with a special sauce or something unique. Good service, and beautiful restaurant in OC. They have a kids menu as well.
I’ve been there before and I have loved our experiences! But the last rsvp, my group was not comfortable with the dry humor from the waiter but did not know how to respectfully disengage from it. So it left us with a bitter after taste to say the least. Overall, an amazing experience.
Farm to table fresh is the main draw at this very popular eatery. We haven’t eaten here for a couple of years and it looked like it had added many more tables. Our reservation for lunch was at 1:45 p.m. and the place was close to capacity. The food was fine (the tomato and the lettuce in my bacon burger were definitely fresh), but it’s the ambiance in a beautiful nursery that was something I truly enjoyed. The service was friendly and acceptable.
Had a salad with salmon (could have been a bit larger for $32), great dessert and average+ coffee. Service was on the slow side (the place was packed so it could explain) but ok. The almond dessert was excellent and enjoyed every bite. The ambience is nice but I think it is lacking an extra touch especially because one goes to the restaurant after having seen so much beauty and elegance in the gardens and store which make it hard to be at that same level.
The Farmhouse is a restaurant found within Roger's Gardens which is a (smaller) nursery. Most seating is found outside, but awnings and umbrellas provide plenty of shade. They focus on providing seasonal and sustainable food, leaning towards American style dishes. The pesto and panko crusted halibut was served over a bed of brown rice with spinach and other veggies which had a risotto-like consistency. The herb roasted Jidori chicken was served with potatoes, carrots, broccoli all swimming in a fantastic chicken jus. Both were excellent and filling, however, we both agreed the meal could have benefited from a few slices of bread. Find parking anywhere you can, but note if you find parking in the front, you'll be walking into Roger's Gardens (nursery). To find the restaurant, you'll need to walk all the way towards the back. However, parking in the back will grant you access directly to the Farmhouse (restaurant). Reservations are recommended as it can get pretty busy. Prices fall on the higher side, especially when cocktails and dessert come into play. Although next to a nursery and outdoors, the environment was clean and the staff were friendly.
Do you enjoy plants and food? Then you will thoroughly enjoy this little diddy. Not that diddy. This diddy. Farm to table diddy. Enjoy 😉
The Farmhouse at Roger's Gardens is one of my favorite spots! I always enjoy going there. Dog friendly!
We visited Farmhouse on a Saturday with a group of about nine people and overall had a really nice experience. There was about a 45-minute wait to be seated, which was totally fine, especially since there’s a beautiful spot next door where you can browse plants and home goods while you wait. That was a great touch and made the wait feel much shorter. The food was good. I had the farm burger—it was solid and well made. Not necessarily out-of-this-world, but a good, classic burger that hit the spot. The only downside for me was the drink pricing. I ordered a mezcal drink, and while it tasted great, the portion size was very small for the price. It felt a bit overpriced for the amount served. Overall, we had a great time, enjoyed the atmosphere, and appreciated the experience, especially with a larger group. I’d definitely come back, just a little more mindful of the drink menu next time.
Beautiful grounds.. parking is a DISASTER, valet was closed... service would have otherwise been 5*... but these guys were definitely at capacity... Dont order bread unless you're prepared to oay $8 per basket... I ordered my burger med rare... it came out definitely med, almost med/well (and was kinda dry) it also comes out open-face and since we were seated outside, the burger really cooled down quciky... ....c'mon guys NOTE - BRING A JACKET in the winter - you may be seated outside as we were ...not super cold but this is certainly dining al fresco and you dont know which table youll get ahead of time. One and done for us, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the holidays and better $ spent. Prices were decent for CDM.. $25 burger, $57 hangar steak, scallops mussels $43 Overall 3*
The restaurant is gorgeous, and that’s pretty much the best thing about this place. The dining area is entirely outside, surrounded by the garden. If you’ve ever played Hitman 3, the restaurant looks like the penultimate mission at the winery with the big fancy outdoor party. We had dinner around sunset and the atmosphere was lovely. The food, however, is mediocre at best. I did enjoy the seasonal peach pizza, but everything else was kinda whatever. The price is a bit high since you’re also paying for the ambiance. The cocktails were pretty good though. I had the Stonewall. It was peachy and smoky from the Mezcal. Service could have been better - we waited over 20 minutes for our entrees to come out. It was cute, but I wouldn’t choose to come back.
We had wanted to try Farmhouse at Rogers Gardens for a long time, especially after hearing how difficult it can be to get a reservation. We were finally invited by friends and went in with high expectations. Unfortunately, from the very first bite, everyone at our table had the same reaction: the food was underwhelming. What stood out most was the consistency of the disappointment. Every item on our plates felt off—not just the main dishes, but even the basics. The fries, the ketchup, even the pickles lacked flavor or balance. It wasn’t terrible food, but it wasn’t even “normal,” let alone memorable or worthy of the hype. The setting is beautiful and the location is impressive, but ambiance doesn’t compensate for mediocre execution. A long wait for a table, a popular reputation, or a charming environment don’t automatically translate into good food. In our case, the experience simply didn’t justify the anticipation.
