Lovely place to enjoy a meal right next to the ocean! It’s a seat yourself style restaurant/bar. The waitstaff were so friendly and nice. Our waiter was very friendly. Ok….the best part…the double cheeseburger!! It’s so similar to in n out burger…but better!! Absolutely fantastic! And delicious salty crispy fries. Wonderful meal, great atmosphere.

Amazing place for lunch or dinner. Their menu is limited but lot of drinks options as well as non alcoholic drinks. Nice view of beach and ice skating. Nice sitting place.

Pricey but quality food, beach front, with excellent staff. Make sure to bring a light coat for chilly evenings otherwise there are plenty of heaters on the deck to keep you comfortable. Day time views are picturesque and there is always a light breeze. People watching is a fantastic site sport

A change of menu is always good and they hit it spot on! Ask for Ben ~ best waiter and suggestions. The beet salad was amazing and so was the rest of the food. Definitely won the #PrettyDrink award with the colors and orchid 💜

Sun Deck at Coronado Beach is a great place for lunch or dinner. Dinner can be a little cold if you sit outside, but the service is good. The food is nothing extraordinary, but it is solid and enjoyable. The hummus is excellent. And the view is what truly makes the place special. Overall, it is a place I definitely recommend.

A lot of dog friendly seating, perfect for any size group and great if you want to stay for a long time. Excellent, friendly, and quick service. We enjoyed the grilled wahoo al pastor sandwich and spicy Baja grilled shrimp. The drinks were great, we had the autumn bird and hotel del colada. Recommend!

This burger is AMAZING. Get it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, that’s how good it was. Our server Tara was absolutely fantastic, walked us through the menu and told us everything we NEEDED to get. Can not recommend Hotel Del and the Sun Deck more. Even better if you get Tara as your server.

Very laid back and relaxing place with a beach view. It was casual dining but expensive prices because of the view. I liked the vegan quinoa salad and my partner got the mahi burger with fries, the fries were so good! The pina colada was awesome too but it was quite small and overpriced at $20. It felt like a true vacation having a pina colada by the beach though!

We gathered for a family lunch and loved the fantastic views. The service was good but a little slow as they were very busy. It's understandable. Almost everyone really enjoyed their food. Unfortunately, my fish sandwich was both bland and dry. The price point is also pretty high for food and drink alone, but the location makes up for quite a bit of that.

Food was extremely fresh and delicious, and we can’t forget about the stunning view of the ocean! Our only complaint is that one of the waitresses was extremely rude.

The Sun Deck at Hotel del Coronado was a beautiful space and has an every more beautiful view of the sunset! We went here for an evening cocktail and small bites. It was great, but the seating is all open and up for grabs. We showed up with a reservation and just wandered around until we noticed folks leaving and took their table. (Only photos I took were of the scenery and not our food or drinks). It was nice to sit by the fireplace in our table. But you do leave smelling like smoke. Staffing seemed to be okay. Just seemed like after we ordered we weren’t really checked on. We waited awhile to checkout. And note: if you take one of the fireplace tables, they require a 2hr max time limit, and a $100 minimum for orders. This was easy ro meet with the order of a few cocktails and a few appetizers. We liked the bbq chicken nacho fries! It was so good! The sauces were yummy and the fresh ingredients were a nice compliment to the rich! We ordered the hummus Greek platter and it was a nice portion and the pickled veggies were good!

Absolutely gorgeous view! All seating is outside. Gets very busy and difficult to find a place to eat. It's open seating and reservations are not allowed. Service was friendly, but can be slow and food delivery extremely slow so if you're hungry, try somewhere else. If we didn't wait an hour, it was very close to an hour. Otherwise the food is very good and attractively presented. The bibimbap is spicy and delicious. There are glass walls to keep the ocean breeze at bay and umbrellas to keep the sun and birds away. I could sit on their couches all day.

The Mahi Mahi and grilled chicken sandwiches were delicious, their fries are also very good. The service was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and had a beautiful view of the sunset. I do not appreciate being charged a surcharge to pay the historical society, that’s their responsibility not the guests. This resort makes a ton of money and it’s not fair to tack this charge on top of $60 sandwiches.

As the reviews show, Sun Deck delivers in that scene from the tourist magazine of San Diego where you are enjoying drinks by a firepit at the beach watching the sunset. Now obviously there is a price for this. First, the tables are first-come-first-serve. And naturally, you have parties that literally squat forever at the corner locations or where the wind blows the least. Second, the prices are high for tapa-style finger food to accompany drinks. And because they're so, the portions aren't big either. Again, you do not go to Sun Deck for the food, and whatever food that may come out, they'll go cold fast anyways. You go to Sun Deck for that magazine shot and to feel like you're living life to its fullest in San Diego. A great place to go outing with a group of friends. Not so much as a restaurant. One exception to this: the falafels on the Mezze Platter is out of this world. Not sure if they bought it from a local shop but it almost felt out-of-place to be so crunchy and flavorful.

Service was a little slow but with it being 4th of July weekend, I understand. They more than made up for it with the drinks. They are delicious, strong, and give you bang for your buck. There's also a great view of the beach if you can nab the right table.

It’s a fantastic place to go to watch the sunset during the month of October. Yes, the prices are high, so I recommend they increase the portion sizes. How can you lose money on French Fries. Flat bread was very good and the burgers were very tasty, $30 bucks! My wife had a steak that cost $66 bucks. Yep that’s right and She deserved it! (Huumm, I could have bought 13 Costco rotisserie chickens for that price I was thinking). Ok, the view and atmosphere is breathtaking. The sound of the waves at dusk is wonderful. This place is big. What I like about it is that you don’t need reservations. Many open areas to choose from. Ok, did we enjoy it? Absolutely. Would I go again? Absolutely. For four people, expect to spend $300 including tips. Beer was $13 and I had two. My two kids (adults) loved it because, they didn’t have to pay. Good family time though. Ate here for lunch during our stay at the Del. Wonderful views of the ocean, courtyard and the pool area from the Sun Deck. Was a bit confusing at first to figure out if we were supposed to go to the bar or wait for a server to attend to us. I had the shrimp and avocado, which was fantastic. My partner had the del cheeseburger which looked like a healthy portion, and we shared the chicken fries, which was very hearty and really, a portion to be shared by at least three people. Guava lime agua fresca was a winner. Tasty casual place to lunch on a nice, sunny day.

We stopped here for drinks after a walk on the beach and prior to lunch plans. FYI there is a minimum $100 to sit in the lounge areas. Overall, seems overpriced for drinks- food on the more pricey side too although we didn't have any food. You pay for the views and ambiance. You are right on the beach so the views are actually quite impressive.

The lounge areas facing the beach have a $175 minimum and a 2 hour maximum. Parties of 6 or more have a gratuity automatically added according to the menu. We were a party of 5 and sat ourselves at a lounge area with a fire pit on a lovely, warm February day. We waited for a long time for service, ordered non- alcohol drinks and then waited forever to order our food. We started to get up and go to the taco stand on the beach when the waitress came and took our order. Then we waited and waited for the food. I believe we were there for 2 hours before getting food and only got one drink. The burger and fries were cold. Not even just luke warm, but cold. The Asian salad was good, the shrimp bowl was good. It was pricey and the gratuity was added automatically to the charges, paid $247

There was a bar inside but we decided to sit outside , bear the pool . The waiter was a bit slow but made sure he took care of us . They had flew varieties of beer and IPAs . Got hazy ipa and it was good . It was very expensive though .had to spend 14$ for an ipa and we spent about 50$ for 3 of us , one drink each ! Food was terrible especially for the price. Takes a very long time for drinks and refills. The view is beautiful though. Way over priced. I recommend only ordering one set of drinks.

Worst service I’ve ever had in my entire life. It’s an open seating but no one keeps track and tables are not cleaned in between. Birds fly over the restaurant and poop so watch over head. I waited about 20 minutes but no one came to take the order. I made an eye contact with a server and she acknowledged me, then she came to a heat lamp near me to turn it on and walked away. I still don’t know what that was about. I can’t say anything about the food since I didn’t get to order, I didn’t want to waste more time so I left.

Got the grill wahoo sandwich and it was unbelievably dry. Fish was dry, bun was dry, sauce had no flavor. Fries weren’t great either. Servers ignored us pretty much the whole time.
