Tip: Enjoy the live music and outdoor seating, but be aware it can get loud. If visiting in the summer, consider indoor seating to avoid the Texas heat.

My wife and I ate dinner there on Friday night .she had the blackened red fish and I had the flounder with plablano sauce . Both where amazing in fact so good we went back on Saturday night and ordered the same thing . We have been going there for 8 years now and have never been disappointed
We had margaritas in the lounge. Its dated but whimsical and fun. I like original restaurants as opposed to nationwide chains. Ricky made our visit very enjoyable. We had the spinach salad which was amazing. My grande enchilada was suberb and my husband loved his burrito dinner. We'd go back again.
Hi. We live right down the street, and went back to Angry Marlin last night on our bikes. They let us put our bikes by the kitchen where they kept on eye on them. My husband has trouble walking now, and the young waitress helped him into a booth while I parked our bikes. We ordered ahi tuna nachos and clam chowder and it was absolutely delicious! We stopped going to neighborhood hangouts during Covid. Don’t know why we didn’t start back up, but after last night and our wonderful experience and the delicious food, we will be regulars again. Great little hideout in the hood. Relaxing. Casual. Kind. And food is absolutely delicious! 😋
Always a fun time and they have some good southwestern dishes. The live music can be loud if that’s not your thing, but they have a ton of space indoors to sit!
The Angry Marlin is a fun little place close to the beach where you can get some good seafood or a juicy burger and an ice-cold beer or a cocktail after spending a day on the beach. They even have outside seating, but during the oven that is a Texas Summer, you may want to avoid that. I went planning on getting seafood, but got distracted by their "New Mexico Fusion" selections (one of the owners is from New Mexico), so I ended up ordering the Pueblo Indian Taco and that was a good choice. The fry bread is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and not greasy at all. The pork is well-seasoned and tender, adding a nice richness. But the key to this is the red and green chili sauces. I got both, and this place does a good job with those staple New Mexico sauces. They have a little heat, but nothing that will set your mouth on fire, and I absolutely loved this dish. We will definitely return to The Angry Marlin next time we stay in North Padre, and as tempting as their seafood is (my wife got the grilled shrimp and loved it), I will probably try the other New Mexico selections.
We had dinner here one night while on vacation and happened to have met the owner while we were there. Turns out he is from our hometown. “Burque” Food here is delicious with a NM flair to it. Definitely try this place out. Had really good drinks later outside on the patio where there was a live band playing. Very fun place.
I thoroughly enjoyed the mahi mahi fish & chips, and ordered a side of coconut shrimp with a Pina colada dipping sauce. The coconut shrimp was bar-none the best I've ever had. Surprisingly, the Pina colada sauce was a perfect combination. The fish & chips were firm and had great flavor. I was really impressed with the service. I showed up at 6pm on a Friday and seated immediately, drink order in less than 5 minutes, and my food arrived hot in less than 20 minutes. The outside is a wonderful "Island village" ambiance, with plenty of diverse and artful nooks to sit in, and very kid friendly. They have a cozy indoor bar as well as a comfortable outside bar. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, and a place to enjoy yourself, you can't go wrong here.
This spot is awesome! Nice, chill, casual and relaxing. We got the oysters and fish and chips. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Our sever, Cara, was so great and patient. They offer indoor and outdoor eating. After dinner, we decided to stay to hear the live music. The bartenders were awesome (I forgot to get their names). I would definitely recommend this place if you’re on the island.
We ate here the last evening of our vacation. We had gone to a number of places to eat and every single one was disappointing. Being in restaurants for 20 years I chalked it up to post memorial day fatigue and reopening issues from the lockdown. So that all being said we stopped at Angry Marlin pretty critical of anything. Service was on 100% on point. If our waitress was not there somebody was. Amazing team service dynamic. Food was amazing. Best meal we had the entire time we were in town. The only disappointment I had during the entire experience was that I didnt have time to tell the owner or manager what a great job the staff did. Family was tired and cranky and want to go home.
Came after a bad experience at the boathouse. The staff was very welcoming and professional! The food was very good and the drinks. Knocked one star off only because a lot of the umbrellas were broken and was so sunny out that they were much needed, found one that worked so was happy. Would definitely come back to this place! Almost forgot their fries were to die for!
Ordered the fish n chips and the southern fried shrimp. Both were over cooked. The shrimp was extra salty as if the chef poured too much seasoning after they were cooked. The fries were in the cool side soft and extra salty.
Went during the weekday for dinner, and we had the place to ourselves. Service was good and people nice. The food came out quickly. The food was..good, but nothing stood out in particular. Kids had grilled cheese and cheeseburger. Wife had chicken Alfredo and myself with coconut shrimp. The atmosphere seems like a cool place, outside and after dark but not for a family dinner. Prices were a bit high, $80 for that outing.
We were excited to dine here after reading the reviews but must have been a different chef. The shrimps was raw inside the jalapeno poppers and tasted odd like it's freezer burn. The shrimp cakes doesn't have any shrimp flavor but mostly just breading. The fish in the fish and chips was bland and batter turned soggy rather quickly after they were served. I gave them 1 extra star for the super friendly server. Though she didn't ask how was the food which was a bit of a disappointment.
Best thing was our waitress. The shrimp cocktail was warm and tasted like it had been taken off a grilled dish and served to us as a shrimp cocktail. We had the blackened red snapper which was supposed to have a lemon ber blanc sauce and neither that nor the pan roasted trout had any sauce, the green beans were cooked and the rice gummy. But our waitress was great. We are spending the winter in this area but probably won't go back here again.
We ordered take out dinner here the other night. It’s our first time in Corpus Christi and I really wish I would have read the reviews before ordering. Side Cesar salad was sour. Fried shrimp (batter uncooked and mushy) we did get a refund for this. Fried flounder and Blackened red fish were bland. Kids corn dogs were eaten but my 18 month old later threw it all up that night (unsure if that’s related to the quality, but oddly coincidental). Manager was very apologetic but we will not order from here again, it’s not worth it to us.
No wait for seating. Friendly staff. Took forever for drinks which would be fine if they were good. Shrimp cakes were dry and not very hot. Asked for sauce that usually comes on the crab cakes. Chef said they never come with sauce. Maybe they don’t. Then told the crab cakes absorbed the sauce. Still dry. Blackened redfish was over cooked and dry. Chicken was good and enchiladas were good. So maybe just don’t order seafood.
I wish I had better things to say about this spot. We were hopeful going here. Our waitress was great. The food was disappointing. We ordered a Shrimp Cocktail, which we were warned was not the regular shrimp cocktail by our waitress. It came on a silver dish with lettuce, which was not a problem. The shrimp being room temp as is it was sitting out all night was the problem. We ordered coconut shrimp and the special that night, the black ahi tuna. The coconut shrimp was overcooked. What was supposed to be a black ahi tuna came out crusted in sesame seed and not blacked. Come to find out the special and not been changed and was supposed to be sesame crusted tuna. That was the least of the problems with the tuna. We were told it was going to be a minute on the grill. It came out almost room temp. It had barely been grilled and the center was almost still cold...not sure how that happens. I am not usually one to shy people away from places, give everything a chance, but based on other reviews and overhearing the other one couple that was there complaining, I would avoid this place. Hopefully it changes for the better.
Bless the poor girl that works here. It’s obvious she gets run over by the man behind the bar. We showed up, decided we didn’t like the place (ants and hair in our drinks) and decided to pay for our drinks and leave. When getting our bill, we noticed it would cost $40 for just our kids drinks and 1 margarita. Looking at the menu, I noticed it stated fountain drinks and tea were 2.99 per. But on our receipt it shows 3.99 per. Now, normally we wouldn’t have cared much if we had stayed and eaten, kids would have gotten refills etc, making it worth while. But for a 6 ounce kid cup, that’s full of ice, with ants and hair in the drinks, it’s not worth $4 per. After we asked about this issue, the man behind the bar became extremely confrontational and aggressive towards my wife and myself. Trying to claim that their menu is outdated, after previously stating the menu is perfect when we asked about options for food. We stopped here because it looked interesting driving by, but no one should eat somewhere the staff wants to be confrontational and the prices on the menu are deemed more of suggestions than actual prices.
Go somewhere else. Worse food ever eaten. How do you screw up fish and chips? They did, fish was rubber, fries, greasy soaked. Coconut shrimp was old shrimp, the coleslaw was fermented. The glasses smelled like dawn dish water. 200$ bill, that was worse thing I've ever eaten.
I had been here many times before and LOVED everything!! Raved about them to friends and family. Then tonight I went for a very important dinner and I was let down. I will not be bragging on them any longer. I got what were my favorite appetizer, dessert, and the special. I was very disappointed to say the least and so were the guests I brought with me. :( :(
I’m giving this restaurant one star and that’s being generous. My wife ordered a chicken Alfredo and the chicken tasted like fish. It was real chewy texture. She did not eat it.I ordered the red fish with sautéed vegetables and steamed rice instead I get red fish with canned French style, cut green beans and rice with meat very horrible experience. The cat outside didn’t leave us alone the landscaping was horrible and the margaritas taste like water down kool aid
Arrived at 8:00pm. Chose to sit outside after speaking with a hostess. Waited for 40 minutes and didn’t get a glass of water despite speaking to 2 servers who told us someone would take our order outside. We we offered to order inside if that was easier; again told it was ok to sit outside. Eventually just left because we felt uncomfortable. This was over 4th of July weekend.
We ordered a artichoke dip that came out absolutely vile. It was basically a bowl of mayo and maybe cream cheese with a few chunks of artichoke in it and some hard cheese melted on the top. The "French bread slices" we got to dip in it were bread sticks cut thin and burned black. I have ordered artichoke dip from several places in the past and even grocery store bought was better. We canceled our other food and left. They were still happy to let me pay the $20 for 2 drinks and the bowl of putrid mayo they served us though. I hope the rest of the menu isn't this bad, but I wasn't willing to give them that chance. It's absolutely disrespectful to serve something like that people. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I'm betting this place is only on business to sucker the few out-of-towners visiting the beach out of their money. Shameful.
