Top experience, Monica is a great host , best food in Moneglia
For us, the best restaurant in Moneglia. Super friendly service and very delicious. The restaurant is a little bit offside. We tested other restaurants but this was defiantly the best! Thank you for the nice evening!
Very good food and polite and helpful service. My husband and I wanted vongole but rhei had not yet arrivred so we had a dish with pasta and scrimps very good. Also their ham and melon was very good and a very large serving recommend sharing.
What a good restaurant!! We both had a different pasta: the vongole and the seafood. It was one of the best spaghetti vongole I ever had had, and so rich in seafood/vongole and flavour! We didn't have a Secundi, so can't judge that, but we saw some dishes coming by looking very good. Would recommend the pasta's mentioned above for sure!
A little off the beaten track but definitely worth finding. We had pranzo and it is a limited menu but not a problem. Aglio olio maybe the best ever. Calamari so fresh and sweet and tender. Vino rosso della casa very nice. Una bottiglia di prosecco molto buona. And the waiter was a pleasure. Highly recommended.
In the heart of the town of Moneglia it is a lovely restaurant with a very homey ambience. The food is excellent. I really enjoyed the posto. If you want something a bit exotic, the spaghetti in squid ink is great. It is certainly a vivid memory from my trip to Italy. Absolutely loved it!!!
I ordered grilled fish and expected to get a whole fish but it was only pieces of fish put on the plate together with the head of the fish. That would have been totally fine if the fish was properly filleted but it was full of bones. There was no side dish included so I ordered a side salad which came without a dressing. Instead the waiter gave me a plastic pouch containing already mixed oil and vinegar. The portions were small, the food tasted ok and the service was fast and friendly. For such high prices I would at least expect a properly filleted fish and bottles with oil and vinegar on the table, even the cheaper pizza places in town put oil and vinegar on the table. The menu sounded great but what I got was overpriced and a little bit disappointing. I would not recommend this place.
New owner. Awful experience! Same as latest comments. I do not recommend.
Walked by and can confirm all the 1 star reviews: completely drunk owner, loud music with a speaker next to people eating and nothing else.
‼️Do not go here‼️ new owner and it’s nothing like it was before, older reviews sadly aren’t applicable anymore. No real menu with no prices The owner/manager was very intrusive and pushy, seemed like she was on drugs. wine was brought to us without ordering or telling us the price. When we wanted to pay, a made up price was said by her and after questioning it and calculating the actual price we realized she charged 25% on top which she didn’t apologise for. Super loud music was blasting which made it hard to hold a conversation and sometimes the manager started singing (more like screaming) to the songs. The overall vibe and atmosphere was really off and we left after we had the first drink to eat and enjoy dinner elsewhere. I feel really bad for the one younger and kind waitress working there Will never come back!
The owner was really drunk when we arrived at 19.15. She couldn’t tell us what was on the menu or the prices. She came with a bottle of water and a carafe of wine, we then decided we could not eat here when she couldn’t tell the menu or what anything would cost. She had a speaker on the table beside us on full volume with a mix of YouTube adds and Italian music she danced and sang to. She did not finish a whole sentence that made sense and it was not a good experience. She wanted 22 euro cash, when I questioned it she said if I had a 20 that would be it. I would not go here. Top it off her cigarette ash was all over the table.
Unforgettable experience (Don't rely on older reviews from the previous restaurant, which seemed to be of much higher quality.) The restaurant is attractive from the outside. However, we couldn't order what we were going to eat: random dishes came to us. The food was cold and the price was excessive for what we ate (remembering that we hadn't ordered anything). Payment by card is not possible, only by cash. I hope that the manager, who takes care of everything herself (reception, service, cooking, collection, etc.), will soon recover from her alcohol problems. In the meantime, this is a place to avoid.
Heavy drunk, lady owner. I feel sorry for her, but you can’t bother customer with kids with this. Monika, I hope you will manage to get better soon.
A very enjoyable experience full of surprises! Prepare to be improvised and follow Monica's recommendations. Great food, great wine, and fun times.
Disappointing Experience Despite Good Food The restaurant has a simple interior, and the owner initially seemed friendly and proud of her homemade pasta, which she mentioned several times during our meal. Following her recommendation, we opted for a selection of small pasta dishes to sample a variety. I specifically inquired about the price, which she described as completely reasonable „she said 8 euro for one Pasta p. Person“. I anticipated a total of around €100. However, when the dishes were served, I noticed that the pasta did not match what was originally suggested. That said, the food was delicious. What significantly marred the evening was the owner’s intrusive and talkative manner. She interrupted us multiple times during our meal with lengthy stories, making us increasingly uncomfortable and eager to finish quickly. When it came time to pay, the card reader was handed to me without showing the bill. The total was €135 for two people—well above our expectations. I received the receipt later, which listed seemingly arbitrary charges. I felt taken advantage of but chose not to escalate the situation to preserve the evening. In summary: the food is good, but the service was intrusive, and the pricing lacked transparency. I cannot recommend this restaurant.
This was BY FAR the worst restaurant experience we ever had. We ordered two beef plates and a mixed fried fish bowl. Instead of the beef plates, they brought us two extremely dry chicken breasts and said that this is what they call beef. (Although I had asked the waiter which kind of meat this is before we ordered it and he told me: "It's from the cow".) So this was the first thing we didn't really understand. We told him, that we didn't want to eat chicken so he told us that we can have a steak instead. Misunderstandings can always occur, so we said ok and gave it another try (but telling him that it should not be bloody). And then, this is no joke, he brought us a steak which was completely bloody and there was even blood on the plate! After remindinding him that we wanted it to be well done, he unironically said: "This is well done (!)". The mixed fried fish bowl was even worse. It was full of fat and uneatable. My father just ate a little bit and then stopped it because of the immense bad taste. So my father and I, we walked into the restaurant where all the staff was waiting to tell them that the dishes were problematic and that we had wished to eat the steak without blood. Then suddenly a woman (young and with blond hair) began shouting at us with the following words: "You wanted them, you pay them!" The other woman standing next to her (middle-aged with darker hair and glasses) even threatened us to call the Italian police, the carabienieri, if we would not pay the bill. We were completely shocked about their behaviour as we never experienced this kind of disrespectful behaviour before. All of them were yelling at us and the woman with the darker hair tried to push me and if one of the waiters had not intervened, she would have been succesful. Nonetheless, we left the money for the bill on the table, because this was just too much and we did not want it to get more out of control. After getting home, my mother had to throw up, because of the bad meat they served us. She just ate a little piece of it. Imagine how bad it was! We are still shocked about this experience and really cannot understand that this restaurant has positive reviews. Please think about it twice before eating at this disrespectful, untasty and (still) expensive restaurant. This was really unbelievable!
