Really healthy and delicious food options. We had the Cobb salad and opted for the vegan ranch which had dill in it. Tasty. We also had a pesto turkey panini also good. My daughter got the bacon and egg burrito and also liked it. My daughter loves the stubborn pineapple cream soda they have on tap. Clean restaurant and helpful and friendly staff.
This is a favorite spot of ours! Everything we’ve tried is so fresh and flavorful not to mention nutritious. The chicken tortilla soup is a go to of mine during the flu or Covid by delivery of course. My fiancé is pescatarian/vegan and I could live off of pure protein the rest of my life and we both love love this place.
Green Leaf Café is a haven for vegan food enthusiasts. The menu is creative and diverse, offering a wide range of plant-based dishes that are both nutritious and delicious. The avocado toast and vegan burgers are standout items. The smoothies and desserts are also a must-try. The café's decor is modern and vibrant, creating a cheerful atmosphere. The staff is passionate about vegan cuisine and provides excellent service. A perfect spot for a guilt-free and satisfying meal.
Can’t speak much to the restaurant experience as I ordered takeout delivery for this, but the salad bowl I got was amazing! I got the la la bowl with farro and it was a really good sized salad with three different dressings that I mixed together. Super flavorful and really fresh tasting. Would definitely get again. I also order the chips and guacamole. I loved the guacamole, it tasted really simple and fresh and the avocado was good quality. I was the biggest fan of the chips, as they were a tad “sweet” and I like my tortilla chips more salty and savory but overall great experience.
Every time we stay in Newport we visit here at least once but probably more like twice in a week. They have a huge menu with do many yummy gluten free and vegan options. The chicken tortilla soup is so yummy and the salads are to die for with an amazing variety of toppings and gf dressings and many vegan too. Their vegan ranch is so flavorful!
Food is always absolutely 💯 on point AND delicious. They master creative & tasty dishes. Employees are always extremely nice & helpful. Atmosphere is top notch. Wish these were everywhere yet I selfishly love that it's a hidden gem! They make some of my favorite food at any restaurant!
Enjoyed this place. Great healthy menu. Lot of gluten free options. Nice atmosphere. Sometimes service is a bit off but usually it's fine. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you.
Absolutely phenomenal experience. The food is ULTRA high quality, fantastic ingredients, great ambiance and WONDERFUL customer service. Whether you eat meat, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, they literally had tasty and high quality options for everyone! Will definitely be back!!! Btw… highly recommend the Avocado Toast… top 2 best I’ve ever had.
Pleasant balance of taste, very light food, I liked it. I would especially like to thank you for the atmosphere of this place, very frendly and the attention paid to so many details! It's very nice to dine in such a space
Great vegetarian and vegan options. Nice salad options. Love the Moroccan bowl. Vegan tacos and broccoli were great too. I also got the LA LA BOWL and added turfu. Probably cheaper to order with meat and substitute egg or turfu for vegetarian and vegan options because this made it a $20 bowl. Came with 3 sauces (!!!), which may be a bit too much, because I want to taste my veggies too. Veggies were excellent (not organic).
First time having brunch here and loved it. I normally stop by for dinner and get the spaghetti squash which I would recommend. I tried their breakfast hamburger with a fried egg and it was amazing. For something that quick I was not expecting much but was blown away. I would highly recommend this place for anytime of day. Also make sure you check out the dessert area for all the freshly made treats. The "big o" sells out quickly so if you one grab it fast. Cheers
I really liked this place when I had brunch here last week. The prices were reasonable for the portions and the staff was super friendly/accommodating. You order before you sit much like Urth Cafe and they bring out the food to your table. I had the burger on their brunch menu and it was rather tasty but you probably need to cut it in half to eat properly--I just used the toothpick to hold it together after readjusting it to eat. The service is fast and the seating is abundant.
Decided to give Greenleaf a try after searching Google for local dining choices serving healthy salad options. I WAS NOT disappointed. Greenleaf has about 10 different salad choices on the menu, plus healthy apps, and great entres. Service was quick, food was prepared to order and the premises (including the bar and outdoor dining area) were reminiscent of dining on the front porch of a historic hacienda. Greenleaf will definitely be my new favorite go-to place.
Fantastic portions and quality ingredients. My lemongrass chicken salad with the mango, pineapple, and lychee dressing made it feel like I was at a top-notch Thai restaurant. Make sure to get a seat in the back by the succulent garden. A nice Mediterranean feel. Felt like we left a yoga class afterward.
Love the atmosphere of this place! If they didn't get their vegetables from the garden outside it sure tastes like it. I had chicken nachos and a Caesar salad! Absolutely perfect. The oatmeal cocunut cookie put this place over the top !!
delicious cobb salad! friendly staff. happy music playing outside with covered terrace seating. I like that they use dark leafy greens and nitrite-free bacon!
My first Greenleaf Chopshop experience. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. I ordered the Baja Kale Salad 🥗 with no chicken because I don’t eat meat and the Baked Garlic Fries 🍟 both were delicious 😋 👌 I highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious! The flavors are so great here-truly healthy can be so yummy! Lots of vegan, vegetarian, paleo and keto options. Warm bowls, salads, entrees, smoothies and so much more. Everyone was so kind. Lots of seating inside and outside. The atmosphere makes it even more inviting. A great place to go solo or meet a friend. Big tables, small tables and a community table. I will definitely be back!
Spacious clean place both in and out. Staff was very knowledgeable about their menu. Their sauces made simple food taste better. Love their bowls. I would love to go back to try more items from them! Easy to find and big parking lot. Good working space with plenty of sun!
The Oaxaca bowl was one of the best bowls I’ve ever had. Great healthy dinner.

Cool vibe, nice patio and deck, and good drinks. Place your order at the counter, and they bring it out to you. Food is good/solid, but nothing to particularly rave about. True Food (we visited the Fashion Island location, twice on our Christmas vacation) is more "rave worthy", but the whole family can find something to enjoy here at Greenleaf. Next time we're visiting southern California, we'll try another meal here (brunch items look good, in other reviews...), and update review. If you're on the fence about coming here, just go. It's very charming.
My daughter took me here for lunch this week on July 19. I liked the food we both had salads. Only comment this is a bit pricier than the usual Salad places like Mendocino Farms, Bristol Farms or Tender Greens. Otherwise, the place is clean with option to eat outside. Nice ambiance and excellent service.
We just tried this place for the first time last night. It was good. Expensive for above average take out, but fresh and tasty (albeit, slightly cold). Your online menu mentioned the vegan burger was GF (the entire reason we came to your establishment)- it wasn't until we ordered it that we realized it wasn't natively GF and that the GF bun was a $3 upcharge. Fries are also an extra $6. Spending an extra $20 (for 2) to get something that most places include (in a slightly higher base rate) felt excessive, given the atmosphere. Definitely upscale restaurant prices, with faster food vibes. The margarita honestly tasted like Costco (which is fabulous FYI) and certainly not worth the price. Close to $60 for 2 burgers, fries and one margarita. We noticed most people took their food to go- so the atmosphere was lacking. No life. Sadly too, in a mostly empty restaurant- several of our selected tables were still dirty with drips, crumbs and coffee stains. Even after we had the tables wiped off the surface remained sticky. We will be back- but not likely as frequently as we'd hoped.
Delicious and fresh, fast great customer service, vegetarian friendly! I had the brunch nachos sans carnitas and they were next level delicious! Serving size was generous, and the service was awesome. Hubby had the Angus Burger and said it was delicious and fresh. Only reason for 4 stars is that it’s a bit pricey, but everything is was awesome!
$14 salad It was good but needs more toppings. There wasn’t much cucumbers, artichokes, or chickpeas once it was mixed up
I like their bild your own salad concept. The salad is very fresh and the staff is friendly. ---------------------------------- My star rating legend: Excellent / Exceptional ☆☆☆☆☆ Very good / Special ☆☆☆☆ Above-Average ☆☆☆ Below-Average ☆☆ Something is wrong!? ☆ ----------------------------------

The dressings and the paleo chicken fingers are good. Although the chicken was super dry. My friend enjoyed the Greek salad. I made a build your own with 3 ingredients totally and barely got any of them so it was mostly just lettuce and balsamic vinaigrette for $20… nothing was necessarily terrible but I just felt like I could build a better salad at home and not spend the crazy amount of money they charge. I would try it again in person instead of DoorDash maybe? Either way for the price they just should be doing more to make their salads full and their chicken not so dry and bland.
They bring the food to your table but no service after that and even so not very friendly staff. Not rude, just no smile, no interaction at all beyond taking your order. The food is good but not a full meal like it used to be. I ordered the Knife & Fork burger which came with, well, nothing but the burger, no fries, no coleslaw, no fruit, nada. I don't eat a lot, usually I take a doggie bag because I can't finish a restaurant meal but here I needed to order a side to fill up. The vegan burger was good and I would order again. The sweet potato fries I ordered as a side were part cold and part warm so not fresh cooked.
UPDATE: THEY MOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's no longer a sit-down place, only a pick up kitchen. Huge disappointment. Original review below: A great place for lunch and brunch ! The flavors are so great here-truly healthy restaurant concept , yummy! They have variety of menu for everyone’s taste buds . Lots of vegan, vegetarian, paleo and keto options. Lots of seating inside and outside - beautiful patio seating area . The atmosphere makes it even more inviting. It is very relaxing and enjoyable. A management could be better, especially the general manager. Who did not come to our table to ask: how everything was, even after we have told him that we have had a bad experience with the food taste last time. The last time the food was not prepared the way we have ordered it. The management definitely lacks customer service. That is the reason for the three stars.
UPDATE: THEY MOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's no longer a sit-down place, only a pick up kitchen. Huge disappointment. Original review below. El Cubano sandwich was so delicious; better than Portos. The cauliflower wings were a bit burnt but good flavor.
It looks pretty. I had the angus burger with garlic fries and a glass of Pinot Noir. The garlic fries were amazing and their house made ketchup was pretty good too. The burger was fine. I ate it as I was hungry. The meat was a bit too in the well done range for me. The red onion slices were cut a 1/2 inch thick and placed as a complete slab within the layers of the burger. I love raw red onions, but dang. The Pinot Noir was warm. People think red wine should be served at room temperature. This is a mistake. Red wine should be stored in the range of 55°F to 65°F. It was all fine, but for the prices, meh. Those garlic fries though, yum!
this location is quite nice. the place is open and airy, and variety of seating options lets are interesting. food is delicious. however docking two stars for service, as i had to wait almost an hr for good at a fast casual joint. suppose that kind of situation depends when you go, and could be a hit or miss. if you are planning to go on sat/sun, wait for getting ur food could be long. had they informed me it's going to be a while, i wouldnt mind, i suppose. and no one really checks on you to make sure you got your food or tell you its still be worked on.....

The staff was amazing, no complaints about the service it was very quick, it is a beautiful place. Very great location and design. The rating is the price, it is way too expensive. The portions are tiny and the wine was too expensive for a tiny class. 1/2 of a small glass for 12$? That is not an accurate serving of wine. The owners should address this. My food was cold, the stir fry was not good. I would love to come here but cannot afford it. Its not chill
I rarely go for a burger, but I remembered having a fantastic one there a few years back. We both ordered it and were totally disappointed. It was a tiny piece of overly salted meat. It was a bun with a small amount of filler. I still like their la la salad though and would go back for that.
This review is only applicable to the Costa Mesa Kitchen location- as a regular at Greenleaf SOCO and the old Costa Mesa Greenleaf, I am disappointed with the Costa Mesa Kitchen location. I ordered a chop chop salad, which is my usual order, and it was not the same. The quality of the chicken wasn't as good, and it didn't contain all the ingredients that make it so yummy. I'm hoping the Costa Mesa Kitchen location is just temporary and they'll be moving into a new location soon.
Ordered several things that left a lot to be desired but cauliflower was good but portion is really sad. For $12 got 4 little pieces. Salad was awfully dry and fries were cold!

I am not a regular of Greenleaf and my visit tonight confirmed that I never will be. I went with my fiancé who ordered the avocado toast as a dinner with “local eggs.” We received the avocado toast over 10 minutes before I received my meal. The avocado toast came with one sliced Hard Boiled egg instead of what we assumed would be fried eggs. My fiancé doesn’t like hard boiled eggs so we asked if they could put a fried egg on it. They came back and put the toast back on the table WITH THE HARD BOILED EGG saying they “sold out” of fried eggs. The server left the table so my fiancé took the food to the counter and ordered the seasonal special, a caprese salad. This was delivered WITHOUT the parmesan crisps. The salad also featured a total of only 4 sliced small tomatoes. My fiancé didn’t notice the absence of crisps until after eating the salad. This entire encounter was entirely without any apology from the staff. My food got cold waiting for my fiancé’s food and even though I spent over $15 barely filled me up. My grilled chicken “larger plate” consisted of 4 tiny slices of chicken plus sides. Clearly Greenleaf wants to cater to rich Newport Beach moms and is not interested in expanding outside of that target market. Will never return and won’t recommend.
Ordered the lemongrass chicken salad since I was told it was one of their most popular salads. It was so flavorless and boring. The dressing wasn’t seasoned at all. The chicken also had zero flavor. Overall, it was sad and extremely disappointing . Also, ordered the tomato bisque. Overpriced and nothing special. Healthy food doesn’t have to be bland and boring. Will never order again.
The food is always good here. But it was very disconcerting when a fellow customer asked one of the employees to bring her two plates for her dogs. He looked a bit confused, but he brought them out anyway instead of refusing her this request. I find it a bit disgusting to have animals eating off the same plates that are used for human customers. I love dogs but this is not acceptable I spoke to the manager and he said he had never heard of that before. I think there should be a policy that paper plates should be used for pets or people bring their own dog bowls. Or you could feed your animals at your own house! What a novelty!
Bad overall experience. Not recommended. We arrived at 11:10 , and still took over 25 minutes for our food to be served. I ordered the pesto chicken and garlic fries. Sandwich was cold and fries stale. I only ate half of the sandwich which tasted nothing like pesto. Then my guest noticed that they served me a chipotle chicken not pesto. My guests food was equally bad and they barely finished half of it. I probably should have told them but all three of us had to get back to work. Would never spent $30 per person for low quality food at Greenleaf again.
