Def will be returning when I am back in LA. I ordered the baba ganoush, sautéed shrimp, and molauli soup, and the date seasame stick, which all were full of flavor healthy and just amazing. The gentleman running the restaurant was very kind and welcoming
Our meals were delicious! The portions were large and the service was friendly. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate as well as the gyro and chicken kabob plate and both were delicious! We also tried the walnut baklava, which was fresh out of the oven, and they were one of the best baklava I've had in a long time. Cannot wait to go back to try more of their dishes!
“Transport yourself to the land of the pharaohs with a dining experience at this Egyptian restaurant. As soon as we stepped through the door, we were greeted by a server and seated right away. The dishes were meticulously crafted to tantalize your taste buds. Whether you’re a connoisseur of Egyptian cuisine or a curious adventurer seeking new culinary delights, this restaurant is a must-visit gem waiting to be discovered. I couldn’t believe this was my first time here! It was the best shawarma ever—seriously so juicy and tender. However, the bechamel was somehow even better. The beef kabob was also very tender and perfectly seasoned. And the hummus was creamy. The chicken kebab and beef kofta were tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. I also tried the falafels, and they were just as delicious. The baked goods here are freaking delicious—baklava, kunafa, and mango tiramisu. The service staff are so friendly. BEST RESTAURANT EVER. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I’m not even a foodie, but I was shaking my head in disbelief at how amazing the food is here. Quality, quantity, and price. You MUST experience this place.”
I came to Tut’s after my appointment next door and i was craving chicken shawarma. i ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with a salad. the staff were nice and quick! the food was soooo good i would definitely come here again. i parked out front so idk if they have parking but i didn’t have trouble getting street parking.
Absolutely excellent. Me and a few friends got the family meal for four, and with it got chicken and beef kabob as the meat. Both were perfectly cooked and very well seasoned, the humus was excellent and the rice was nice as well. We also got some kobeba which was quite delicious. Additionally we got several of the dessert, items and while they were all good the chocolate besboosa and the apple custard pastry were amazing. The service was very friendly, and the prices were not at all bad to boot. Overall very good and I definitely plan on going again. Update: I have been several more times and plan to continue doing so.
Updating our previous review which was more negative about the food ordering website than on the food which we gave a five in the text. We had their Lemon Salmon dish, which comes with rice, salad, excellent veggies and hummus. You could put their lemon sauce on tooled leather and it would taste good, per the wife. Personally, I've not had that much of a tooled leather experience to judge... Also had their Feta stuffed burger which is not on the menu yet. Was also wonderful! The fries were also way above average. Have had many meals from here and have not been disappointed yet. Indoor and covered patio seating.
This place was surprisingly really good! They have a really good set to eat there, but also are setup to have a pickup takeout style as well. We ordered two different plates and didn't disappoint, meat and chicken were cooked at a fire like grill which increased the flavors of the whole combination. Falafel was on point and the grilled tomatoes were a nice touch! Definitely coming back.
I've awarded Tut's five stars because it consistently provides very tasty meals. The small pieces of grilled tomato, peppers and onions that they mix in with the rice provide it with appetizing color as well extra flavor. A single "chicken kebab plate," with an extra side of their Israeli style salad, is generous enough to provide a light meal for myself and my wife. We are regular repeat customers.
We got a fantastic take out meal from Tut’s this evening. It was yum-town supreme. The fries were super seasoned; the wraps we got had outstanding chicken flavor, fresh veg, and bangin’ sauces. It was a cacophony of flavor hittin my taste buds. 10/10 will be back. Don’t sleep on Tut’s. Exterior & decor may not be trendy, but the food & phenomenal service makes it feel cozy & worth your time.
Comes across more as a take out restaurant, in my opinion. The food was really great, though. We had a combo plate with chicken and lamb kabob, fries on the side, garlic dressing, hummus, and some delicious tamarind juice. Everything tasted good. I highly recommend this place.
A nice surprise find. This has been one of the best finds in the Los Angeles area in my recent trips. The chicken schwarma was absolutely out of this world, and would recommend the plate options with salad and hummus. The coconut deserts was the perfect ending to the meal.
Easily some of my favorite takeout in LA! Go here you will be blown away its so so good
Such a great go-to. They have tons of vegan options! The koshari is delicious.
I ordered food to go for book group, the theme was Egyptian antiquities! So Tut’s was the perfect spot to get delicious food, we were not disappointed! I cannot wait to go back and have a meal at the restaurant and sit outside. If you’re looking for Egyptian food, this is the place to have it
I got the falafel bowl. It came with 5 big falafel that were nice and crispy outside with a great flavor and texture on the inside. Salad was full of tomatoes, cucumber, sliced red onion, and pita bread. Their Garlic sauce is to die for. Delicious! Very friendly and welcoming staff every time I go. Best falafel in town!
I almost don’t want to write this review in fear that I’ll ruin a good thing - but this place is a GEM. We went back two nights in a row it was so good. Kebab plates were legit and much more fairly priced than other places closer to the water. Make absolutely certain you get their garlic sauce/dip you’ll want to bathe in it. Also, the staff is lovely. Zero complaints.
Great Koshari ! Lulu is the best , very sweet and friendly young lady ! Definitely coming back :) thank you Lulu
Can’t believe this little gem has been here under my nose and I’ve just discovered it. I’ve searched for koshari far and wide (all over LA) after having it on a trip to Egypt. There are a few rare places that serve it, but mostly in Anaheim. So when I found Tut’s, I couldn’t be happier. The koshari is satisfying and spicy, a perfect vegetarian meal. The staff is lovely. The inside is clean and quaint. This place is going to be on my regular rotation. Thanks Tut’s for being here! 🙏🌈
Great Egyptian Food in Santa Monica, CA. The food and service are top notch. I went there 2 times while being in Santa Monica and everything was great especially the Macarona Bashamel, the Molokheya, the Kobeba, the Hawawshi, The Kofta platter, Fool Medames and Eggs with Basterma. Highly recommended if you're in Santa Monica and want to taste Authentic delicious Egyptian food that tastes like home.
For the second year in a row, Tut’s Egyptian Cuisine has gone above and beyond in helping us bring the rich flavors of Egypt to life at our school's International Passport Night. Alex was so kind and quick to respond when I reached out, offering her assistance in creating a catering order that was sure to impress our students and families. Every dish Alex and I chose was a hit. She was nice enough on the day to deliver the order and went above and beyond to help me set up and label the items. Everyone agreed that the falafel was the ideal texture - fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The grape leaves were marinated to perfection and incredibly flavorful. Additionally, the Baklava assortment, walnut, chocolate, and pistachio, was a memorable finale that left many asking for seconds. We’re so grateful to Alex and her amazing team for their continued partnership. Tut's brought culture, warmth, and a true sense of community to our event. Thank you, Tut’s!
No frills space, but SUCH good food! What a find. Went to catch up with a group of friends here, all have different dietary needs so we all got something different (so probably came close to a taste of everything on the menu) and everyone was happy. We will definitely be coming back :)
Great local business with tasty food. The hummus is a standout for me. We split the platter for two and it was a ton of food for 22 bucks. Great value. Super easy to order through the app and pick up online. Chicken kebab is tasty. Falafel is extra crispy. Nice people as well.
Phenomenal. Well priced huge portions. I had the combo plate with chicken shawarma and gyro meat. Everything from the salad to sauces tasted fresh and home made, while also being flavourful. Topped off with a decadent pistachio baklava. Really one of the best middle eastern meals I’ve had in North America and I grew up in Dubai. Staff was very attentive as well.
We ordered pickup several times now and everything was always perfectly prepared. (This is one of the very few places that can actually get the order right 100% of the time!) Very tasty. Nice portions. Good flavors. We have become regulars.
Did a takeaway here and the food portion is generous for a takeaway. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I order the lamb kebab which is tasty. It comes with delicious hummus

I ate everything before I could post a photo 😅 but oh my god everything was sooo good! It was my first time there and I ordered the beef kabob wrap and took a slice of the beef and cheese pie to heat up at home and both were scrumptious! The beef was tender the bread was soft, the garlic and spicy sauces were sooo good and took the wrap from a 10/10 to a 1000/10. I will absolutely be returning!
I drove out here (2 1/2 hrs) for an appointment. I had an hour to spare and decided to stop by Tut’s Egyptian Cuisine! I am glad I stopped. This food here is excellent. The seasoning, the freshness, the flavor of everything was beyond any words. It was cooked to perfection! The only disappointment that I have is they are soo far away. But it is Definitely worth the drive back out here!! Until next time THANK YOU TUT’S🫶🏽
I don’t recommend the falafel sandwiches. The falafel was stiff, dry and they used the gyro bread (not pita). It is not authentic to the Arab shawarma. However the manaeesh was so good. The cheese manaeesh took me to a whole new world. The type of cheese used with the garlic spread elevated it so much. We had it fresh out of the oven!
Delicious and authentic Egyptian food. We ordered the macaroni béchamel, koshari, beef/cheese pie, and beef/chicken kebab combo - all the food was great! Waitress was friendly and attentive, service was fast! Would definitely come again
This place is great! Food is always top notch. Their chicken shawarma is my favourite. I love to order it without fries and with their greek salad it makes for a perfect healthy meal. Staff is always great, very friendly and quick service. Thank you!
Got the dinner for 2. Ate like a king. Sauces took me to another planet. Excellent meats, hummus, and sides. Do yourself a favor and have dinner here.
Amazing homemade and authentic food! One of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in LA. The food is full of delicious flavors and everything tastes fresh. Highly recommend it. The prices are fair and the portions are very generous. This is not my first time here and it definitely won’t be my last. 😊
DELICIOUS!! everything we had was so good and the portions were huge. also they make the best garlic fries ive ever had IN MY LIFE!
Always my go to for Garlic spread! Great staff very friendly. Not to mention the food also hardy and satisfying
I stumbled across this place when I was next door at the salon. I am Lebanese and the foods are very similar. It was so delicious I can't wait to go back. The date cookies(maamoul) are a must!

Great little neighborhood gem for sure. There's both outside and inside seating. The server is super friendly and the quality of the food speaks for itself. Big portion and enough to fill your hungry soul. Mine came with chicken on top of rice with hummus and pita bread. Also a side salad.
Good food, great variety, reasonable price, very attentive waiter. We would definitely come back.

Chicken wrap was a bit dry. Salad even with the dressing lacked flavor / spices.
Ordered family meal deal for two. No pita in the to go bag but didn’t realize till we drove all the way home
We ordered a shakshuka and falafel. The shakshuka was swimming in a lot of oil. The falafel was not cooked and was wet on the inside. Would not recommend dining here.
Doesn’t relate to any Egyptian food. The worst taste ever. Not fresh Mulkhaya is FULL of garlic. Not fresh. Even the rice or salad are not fresh ZERO STARS
Today I ordered from lentil soup and two rice pudding the rice pudding they only send me one order. I ordered two and I’m glad they only sent one because it was disgusting and the lentil soup was so spicy. I’ve never had lentil soup that was spicy. Your food quality has gone down the drain. Rice pudding had slimy stuff on top of it and it looks and it was stale. They don’t look still it was stale. The rice was undercooked. It was hard to chew on. It’s like eating rocks. It was just nasty and slimy. I don’t know. I don’t think it would gross.
