My friend and I were supposed to drive from Denver to Kansas City but we got rerouted by a massive snowstorm and had to drive down through NM/TX to OKC. We were looking for food in the Texas Panhandle and ended up giving this place a try because of the good reviews and wow, best decision ever! There’s a massive menu and a whole lot of Mexican chips/ice cream/soft drinks, and there’s a lot of space inside for seating. They make a great al pastor quesadilla and carnitas taco, and I had THE BEST chicken torta of my life. I’ll always remember it. If you’re on a road trip and come through the Panhandle you 100% have to come here!

Small time place that knows how to make tacos When you are on your way up to Amarillo or down to Houston you need to stop here for some tacos. It's close to the main thoroughfare and easy to get to. Sure you might be waited on by a 12 yr old daughter of someone who works there and the salsa bar may be a mess but the girls know what they are doing and the salsa is tasty. We have only gotten tacos but there have combo plates as well. The tacos come on 2 corn tortillas and are "street style" (small), this allows you to try different ones. We never had one we didn't like. Stopping here is a 1000% better than another generic fast food lunch/dinner. - Recommended

Good food lot’s of options to choose from Nice quite neighborhood came walking At 1.2 miles Just to try it out . Couldn’t help it with the good reviews this place has. Im from way southern texas Mcallen to be exact usually taquerias up north are no good but Taqueria Dalhart is very good very worth it. Bought 3 tacos of asada 3 barbacoa and asada quesadilla and a soft drink for less than $20 bucks they have a salsa bar including chips mexican cokes and fritos. Ohh and that chile toreado👍🏽

When we drove to the restaurant I was a bit reluctant because the outside does not look very inviting, however the inside is very welcoming. We got some Mexican sodas and they have a great variety of Mexican candy. We had the flautas and they were very good. My quesadilla was also good.

The food had good flavor but was not hot (more room temperature). Also, we found a hair in the salsa. Otherwise, the food is authentic and tasty.

Coke products!!!! Yeah Need to put menu online more visible with explanation of food that can be purchased at what time of day. Online ordering ahead would increase sales. Loved the salsa bar. Breakfast burritos were good.

Authentic place, good food, spotlessly clean throughout. Short ways east from Hwy 87. When you see the locals at a Cafe, you know it's good! Just looks rough on outside & neighborhood. Don't let it stop you. We had taco salad & 4 steak street tacos with drinks for $18.

Don't let the look of the place fool you. The food was good. All of us enjoyed what we ordered, with exception of the elite (corn in a cup). It was too watery not like had mozzarella cheese instead. Over the good was good, place was clean. The burrito was amazing.

The food was good but the atmosphere was horrible. There are so many flies. It was cool seeing tomato flavored chips for sale at the counter. Also, there was a hot sauce area that was uncovered, meaning that flies could've gotten in it. That is a potential health risk. If you just care about the food, this is a solid option. If you want finer dining without dealing with flies and a potential health risk, go somewhere else.

My review is 1 star mostly because my steak taco had a fly in it that was clearly cooked in the meat but here’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because my hubby said his food was amazing. We walked (30 min walk) from the Loves truck stop where we parked the semi. I had 2 steak tacos and caldo de res (the soup flavor was amazing but it was full of fat chunks) the hubby had the birria de chivo y 3 barbacoa tacos. He said both were fantastic. Sorry I can’t give you guys a better review the gross cooked fly in my taco ruined my experience. Side note the young lady at the register was really sweet, we asked about finding a uber or taxi back to Loves and she tried to help us.

Had stopped here before, but this time the food was nasty, meat was old, returned two tacos, and when refunded they refunded what they wanted, not the taxes charged or anything. The inside of the restaurant was filled with flies and just seemed dirty.

Avoid this place. Worst Mexican food I ever ate. For the 50$ I paid for 4 tacos, quesadillas and salad and elote, the taste and quality was the worst. We threw all of it. I am shocked at the high rating of this place. So bad in all terms and to add they understand zero English, so difficult to understand and explain what you want and neither the total receipt. Somewhat dirty and flies too. Avoid!!!
