Great place! There is outdoor (picnic tables)and indoor (bar style) seating. We went during happy hour and got a few different things. Delicious made to order food and friendly staff.

Revolver Taco Lounge on Elm Street in Dallas isn’t just a taco joint; it’s a destination for authentic, elevated Mexican street food. Forget everything you think you know about tacos and prepare for a culinary journey that starts, deliciously, with the tortillas. Each taco is cradled in a delectably homemade corn tortilla, tender yet resilient, a testament to their in-house process that sets the stage for perfection. One must start with the **barbacoa**, a dish served with a deeply satisfying, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. This is slow-cooked mastery, rich and flavorful, proving that a classic dish can still be astonishing. However, the taco that truly steals the show is the legendary **pulpo al pastor**. This creation, a whole large Mediterranean octopus tentacle prepared al pastor style, is an absolute revelation. The traditional pastor flavor profile is completely unleashed by the incredible tenderness of the octopus, which is perfectly balanced by sweet chunks of grilled pineapple, scallions, and fresh cilantro. It’s an inventive, perfectly executed surf-and-turf masterpiece that alone justifies a visit. Revolver Taco Lounge raises the bar for what a taco can be, delivering an essential Dallas dining experience.

If you want authentic Mexican food, go Sundays and have the brunch buffet. It’s worth every penny, homemade dishes to choose from and you can keep getting as much as you can eat. The señoritas who cook the food will make you feel like you are at home with fresh tortillas and fresh lemon water and coffee. Didn’t get to enjoy everything they had but definitely returning for more!

Yes, the octopus tacos are great. We had both kinds. I liked the flavors on the pulpo better than the pulpo pastor. Also loved the chicken birria tacos. Great combo. Brisket is a great choice, too. It's in a fun area of Dallas with lots of options. Service was good. They have a nice bar area and plenty of space outside for dining.

Great spot for tacos and such an amazing vibe. I came here on a Wednesday evening in January and they had the garage doors opens. Love the plants and overall feel. What was a bit of a damper was the amount of unfortunate individuals that were not well and asking us constantly for money or help. The staff here was gracious and kind in how they handled them but we had to keep an attentive eye on our stuff and couldn’t relax fully. As for the food, amazing. Get all the tacos! The shrimp and octopus was my favourite. Love the vegetarian ones too. The sauces are so flavourful. Service here is fantastic and highly recommend coming here

Revolver Tacos in Dallas was awesome! Definitely worth the visit. The food was incredibly tasty, and the staff were fun and helpful. I 100% recommend it. Plus, they play football (soccer) on the big screen, adding to the great atmosphere. On the higher price point, but totally worth it.

A big group of us were visiting from out of town and went to the brunch buffet. It was about $40 a person after tax and it was well worth the price. They had coffee, water and agua fresca. It was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! We all tried everything and went up for seconds. The favorites of the group were the poblano chicken, ribs and mole carnitas. A few of us also got cocktails and they were delicious. The food is incredible and there are amazing women making the tortillas in front of you. There are women walking around dishing out chilaquiles, tamales and burritos. I’d highly recommend stopping by.

These are legit the best tacos that I’ve had in Dallas. They keep it simple and make the tortillas fresh. Onion, grilled peppers, cilantro, lime and salsa is all a good taco need. My favorite was the pato, and my wife liked the pastor, but lengua and carne asada are great too. The prices are crazy high so (pro tip) go for half off happy hour

Andre was very helpful, professional, and provided amazing service! I enjoyed the vibes, drinks and atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good vibe with strong drinks in the Deep Ellum area. I flew in town to spend the day with a really good friend and will be back to visit when i return!!

Heard from another chef to try this place out. Great authentic taste. Started off with the Queso Fundido; portions are small but came with 5 mini flour tortillas and had shrimp and chorizo, very delicious. Tacos are a la carte, which I’ve always loved because you can order as you want and get variety! Started with the Trompo Al Pastor and Lengua Tacos; both were super delicious and of course if you’re a texture eater you probably won’t like the lengua. Finished up with Carne Asada, Pulpo, and Carnitas. I love octopus so I think my favorite was definitely the Pulpo with leek, was really surprised with the filling. Also grabbed a margarita and ranch water. Margarita was very fresh. Bartender was very attentive and helpful with suggestions! Some people want to complain about the price, but the quality of the food and the way it’s prepared really outweighs that argument. Will definitely be back!

Sit at the bar, have a great conversation with a wonderful bartender, enjoy some awesome tacos and a killer margarita. If that is your definition of a good time then . . . This is the place. I highly recommend the duck tacos. Not fatty or chewy just awesome but my favorite was the al Pastor taco with the pineapple. I was not sure about it but the super friendly bar tender recommended it and I am glad he did. It was flavorful, spicey, sweet and just awesome!

We stopped here on a food tour. The al pastor tacos we had were so good! The alley is a nice break from the heat. You can tell they take pride in their food. It was some of the best corn tortillas I've ever had, even internationally.

We tried the food initially as part of a Dallas secret food tour, but it was so good we came back again for the Sunday brunch buffet. $35 seemed expensive for a buffet at first, but Food was absolutely outstanding. Tortillas are made right in front of you. Everything had distinct and authentic flavor. Staff was incredibly friendly. Eating here will basically save you a trip to Mexico. The buffet included as many homemade corn tortillas as you could eat, fresh Chilaquiles and tamales, mole, carnitas etc. I didn’t get a chance to try the mole, but I was just too full!

We chose Purepecha for the dining experience during a staycation for our anniversary. We visited two other fine dining establishments during the trip, and Purepecha was our favorite by far. Such an incredible opportunity, and our host was fantastic. I think we will return every year. I could post all the pictures I took, but I think it adds to the experience to see it for yourself. Everything is done so well and beautiful presentation.

We did the Purepecha 4-course menu. It was a very unique experience because you feel like guests in a stranger’s home. It’s very intimate with only a handful of other diners. The food was terrific: the tortillas, pescado crudo, seabass, and desserts. The only food that disappointed was the entree. It was a stuffed pork chop in a too sweet mole sauce. Not bad, but we expected better. Honestly, Revolver’s tacos are soooo good, you should get them instead

This is mainly a review for purépecha. I paid for the table experience and it was worth every dollar. The service is great, the chef gives an explanation for every dish and his inspiration for them. The tortillas are delicious and are the best I have had in Dallas! All the food is traditional Mexican food and will transport you to Mexico itself. I definitely recommend if you enjoy fine dining. They also have great mezcal and tequila options.

We did the kitchen table experience and it was awesome! It was in the kitchen at a small table behind, with the chef explaining each dish as it came out. The staffing (really the family of the chef) were helping and assisting in the kitchen which were a delight. The food was fantastic and you definitely didn't leave hungry, we even packed some home with us. The rabbit bone broth soup and the quesadilla were really major highlights to the entire menu! Can't recommend this place anymore.

Wow. Never had Tacos this good in my life. Delicious and they even got my “no cilantro” request. Super nice staff. Fantastic atmosphere and restaurant. The food came fast. Really delicious drinks too. Highly recommend. In a group of 6 including a vegetarian and everyone was raving about it. The salsa is fantastic. Tacos are so otherworldly- each ingredient being bold and oh so flavorful.

No doubt this restaurant has made my top 5 taco places in DFW. The incredible eclectic and true taco favorites was a sweet surprise and was totally blown away with the options and quality of the food. Caroline was amazing. This is a place you do not want to miss. James Beard noms for the last 5 years, someone give them a Mich Star.

Definitely delicious and highly recommended. Food was authentic and tasty. Service was good, I just noticed they were a bit understaffed. As far as environment, I think better music and maybe adding some TV screens would enhance hmthe experience. I went on a Tuesday so I was not sure if it gets different during the weekend. Other than that, I am definitely coming back. Tacos average $6 and alcoholic beverages $15

Partner and I came for the tasting menu and loved it. The chef pulled inspiration from different Latin American countries, using fresh and interesting ingredients, mixed mushrooms, squash blossom, fruit, various fish to create flavor combinations that are amazing. If you want run of the mill tacos, go to any decent taco place. If you want something special, come here. As a Mexican person, the flavors transported me back to all the times my family ever got together and had a gathering. Comfort food, elevated.

The first time we ate here we don’t love it and they don’t have the pastor taco 😞 so we want to go again and the second time was amazing so hopefully always be like the second and the first only was a bad day, by the other side they need more friendly servers both times they were like really unfriendly. The “pulpo al pastor” taco is amazing I repeat amazing! If you’re on deep ellum I recommend this spot.

For sure, the tacos bop. They're nom-a-riffic, and sitting up at the bar is a great way to go here. Friendly service. Tasty tacos. And those tacos? Really good. One might say they're worthy of being on Netflix's Taco Chronicles good, because, well, they were. And that one taco? The octopus carnitas taco? It's hella tasty. And that's just it. Maybe the tasty tacos went to their head a bit? Maybe it was Netflix. There's a weird vibe here. Like they need to prove that they're cool and hip and whatever is the new slang. Eating, brother. Whatevs. Sure, they were on Taco Chronicles. Know what? They'll put it on the TV to show you. It's like they need to prove they're so cool and saw that one indie band in a speakeasy basement bar in Fort Greene before they sold out and blew up huge. But. Maybe just concentrate on tasty tacos instead? 'Cause they have tasty tacos. They also have a DJ stand. You know, for tacos.

The octopus and barbacos tacos are truly excellent. The carne asada and duck tacos are decent and so it the steak quesadilla. The price point is very high, which might be a deterrent from visiting another time. But might be some of the best tacos you can get in the area.

Purepecha is one of the most unique dining experiences in Dallas. It’s like being invited into a traditional Mexican family dining room, where you experience some of the most delicious and inventive dishes served by a very talented family team. Food here is excellent across the board, with seasonally changing menus. The service is warm, welcoming and tells a great story. Atmosphere is the only real let down, but I think they are trying to do the best with what they have available. Great spot for a super-casual, high-end foodie tasting menu.

It's exactly what I'd expect if someone watched videos on how to prepare authentic Mexican cuisine but has never eaten said cuisine. Looks great, tastes alright, but definitely lacks seasoning in many of the dishes. Tortillas fell flat (Pun very intended.) Could definitely be improved with minor tweaks to recipes. Service was fantastic, and fast.

My party of 3 came in early on a Saturday, service and food was just okay, I was expecting better flavor for the hype and upscale price. I may come back to try their Sunday brunch, maybe that will be a better option.

This Deep Ellum taco bar has gotten a fair share of very positive press over the years, and the food here is quite good. The tacos are fresh and inventive, delivered on excellent handmade tortillas. Service here was a little off on my visit, however. It seems like servers are matching the quality of service more to the intentionally casual “street taco bar” atmosphere than the high menu prices dictate. That said, if you are in the area and don’t mind paying the elevated prices for great tacos and beer in a dive bar space, it’s a good option.

S

This place has good drinks and some good food but it is DEFINITELY OVERPRICED in my opinion for tacos and appetizers. The portions are tiny for what they charge you. You can definitively find cheaper and better tasting Mexican food/tacos at other places in Dallas. I was disappointed since I liked their first location but this second location didn’t quite cut it out for me. The seating is limited at the bar unless u sit at one of the outdoor tables (hopefully u have good weather) The sope appetizer were 4 literally bite size sopes for $19?!! That’s a total rip off!!! We paid $95 after taxes for two ppl, that’s ridiculous for Mexican food and it’s not even fine dining. Would not come back.

This rating is for Purepecha, not the taco lounge. Is the food good? It is OK, good, not great. Is service good? Yes, actually, it was outstanding. Is the atmosphere good? Not really, not bad by any means but could be better. So the big question, is this dining experience worth what you pay for? ABSOLUTELY not! Extremely overpriced for what you get and the flavors. I can pay half of what I paid here at amazing restaurants like Perry's, Lucia, 61 Osteria, and many others. The chef does come up with inventive and unheard of menu items, like chilaca chile filled with rabbit, cooked oyster with curry, jocoque based sauce, dulce en tacha, etc., but somewhat lacking flavor. If this would be priced at half the price it currently is, I would rate higher and would go again, but until then, I'd rather go to Lucia a couple times :)

We were really excited to try this place based on the reviews and photos of the food we saw. Cool, colorful atmosphere. You order at the counter and then sit. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I found the menu to be small and expensive. The prices listed are per taco and ranging up to $15 for one taco. Unfortunately, the food does not taste as good as it looks. We found the food to be underwhelming and lacking flavor for the price and compared to other Mexican restaurants. We ordered 3 different tacos and the chicken flautas.

Reviewing Purepecha For the price point, you would expect the food and service to be impeccable. The food was good, not sure if I would say it is worth the nearly $300 price point per person after tax and tip, but what really became an issue was the service. Despite letting the team know I had dietary restrictions, and confirming with them over email in the days prior to my reservation, I was served a main course that contained an item on my dietary restrictions list. When I asked the chef about it, he told me they had me down for the following week (I have email confirmations confirming that I was supposed to dine the date I attended). While the rest of the table ate their main course, the chef was preparing mine. This was not a huge issue in itself, definitely not ideal but I understand mistakes happen. What became an issue was I was served my plate, the entire table had nearly finished their plates. As a result, the staff was quickly clearing the table while I was just starting my course. Before I knew it, the accompanying tortillas and salsa (which were important portions of the main course) were cleared from the table. When I asked for my tortilla basket back, I was given a basket used by another diner, so the tortillas I were cold. Sounds like a minor complaint, but corn tortillas significantly change in taste and texture when cold. I was clearly being rushed to finish my meal, despite the fact the mistake was made on the restaurant's part, and when I did get my main course I was not able to enjoy it as half the accompanying salsas had been taken away and I was left with cold corn tortillas. None of these would be worth a scathing review at a lower price point, but for an intimate dining experience in which the entire night should only be focused on 7 diners, I was shocked with the service.

The guys (see photo) behind the counter with the red nails was extremely rude and racist. I ordered 2 tacos from Rusbelis (young lady at the register) and I also asked for sodas. She pointed to the right of me to let me know where the sodas were located. She spoke very limited English but okayed me to get the 2 sodas. As I began to walk towards her to finish checking out, I lifted the two drinks up so that she could see them and she nodded. The guys (see photo) at the bar looked at me, frowned, and rudely asked what I was doing. I explained that the lady who took my ordered okayed me to get the two sodas. Rusbelis was watching the entire interaction as I was walking towards her. He stated that she couldn't have done that because she didn't speak English. She informed him in Spanish that she told me it was okay. In English she even said, it's okay. Very oddly, the guy in the photo walked down a little further, stood in front of me after I paid for my order, he snapped a photo of me with his phone. Then he started throwing his fingers and speaking to Rusbelis in Spanish. I started videoing him afterwards. I used Google translator to speak to Rusbelis and she stated that she didn't know why he was acting like that and she apologized but, that's not good enough for me. The guy is has a nasty attitude, disrespectful, and kept frowning his face up at me for no apparent reason. I would NEVER recommend this establishment. I would give you all 0 Stars if it was an option.

My wife and I visit this establishment every time we come to Dallas. We’ve been coming for about eight years, back when it was just a small takeout spot, because the food was truly amazing—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and always offering a unique twist on traditional tacos. We visited over Christmas and were really looking forward to having Revolver again after a few years away. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The original lounge is now only a takeout window with no seating. Instead, you’re expected to take your food to go or sit in the new bar-style seating area. The charm of the original space is gone—no longer can you watch the food being prepared, see tortillas made by hand, or enjoy the thoughtfully crafted drinks that made the experience special. The food itself fell far short of what we remembered. We ordered our favorites: pulpo tacos, tacos de lengua, and a steak quesadilla. While the pulpo was tender, it had no seasoning, was lukewarm, and the toppings—pineapple and cilantro—looked like they had been sitting out for some time. The tortilla was neither fresh nor warm. For a place where we were always happy to pay a premium for quality, not a single part of the meal was enjoyable. To make matters worse, the staff behind the counter seemed inconvenienced by our presence, and we were required to order food at one end and beverages at the other, which added to the frustration. I’m not sure what’s going on at Revolver, but things have definitely changed—and unfortunately, not for the better.
