Jordan provided an amazing experience from start to finish! He was professional and friendly. He took the time to make sure everything was done perfectly and made me feel completely comfortable and taken care of. The service was efficient, high-quality, and exceeded my expectations. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and their experience. I highly recommend asking for Jordan if you visit Tasty Tails.. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Love the Charbroiled Oysters! There are 2 varieties... both are delicious. The Jambalaya egg rolls are soooo good as well as the Hurricane drink. Service is wonderful and the people who serve you are amazing. Definitely in my Top 10 rotation.
Had a big reservations for a big group on Monday night happy hours . This place was packed with people and the live music with the DJ spinning some great songs to keep it entertaining. The Cajun crawfish here is one of the best along with their crawfish etouffe. Their Po boys and wings was also amazingly good . Drinks are reasonable for their happy hours . The staffs and owners are super friendly and always welcoming.
We happened to find this restaurant by chance, and it turned out to be a great decision. Really fresh seafood and great Cajun flavors. Bao took amazing care of us and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this place.
Enjoyed happy hour with my husband there. Chargrilled oysters and jambalaya eggrolls were phenomenal. As wonderful as the food was, the service was even more incredible. I believe the owner even spoke with us and she was so kind! Excellent family run business!!!
This place was AMAZING! From the moment we sat down, Amanda took such good care of us. She was friendly, patient, and helped us pick the best drinks and the perfect food items. You can tell she truly enjoys her job and cares about her customers — she made our whole experience feel effortless. And the food… WOW. This was the first time since moving to Texas that I genuinely enjoyed catfish. It was cooked perfectly — flavorful, fresh, and seasoned just right. The rest of the food was just as delicious. You can taste that everything is made with love and attention. Tasty Tails definitely earned a spot on my favorites list. I’ll be back for sure — and I’ll be asking for Amanda again!
Loved our first trip to Tasty Tails. We ordered the Calimari fries, meat pie, crawfish pie, shrimp/catfish platter and the Tasty Pick 3 boil combo. Calimari fries 3.9/5 - very big Calimari tentacles fried in panko and served with their house made tartar sauce. Very good starter Crawfish/meat pie 4/5 - both of these were LOADED with filling and made fresh to order. Gimme 50 to go. Shrimp/catfish platter 5/5 - this was excellent! Huge catfish and butterflied shrimp fried to perfection. We got these with hush puppies and rémoulade sauce. Pick 3 (shrimp, crawfish, mussels) 4/5 - still early in the crawfish season, so I expected them to be on the smaller side and the price to be a little higher. But the sauce was flavorful and everything was fresh. Hit the spot for sure.
When I'm craving some NOLA Cajun, Tasty Tails never fails to deliver. On each of my visits, they've always been quite busy. Fortunately the service and food are still able to arrive in a timely manner. They also have a great happy hour on both food and drinks every Monday to Friday from 4-7 PM. Some of my favorite menu items, such as Jambalaya Egg Rolls and Chicken Wings are included. My only minor complaint is the patio area, which is convertible to indoor, was really hot and muggy during my last visit.
As a native born New Orleanean I enjoy the food here. It is sometimes hit or miss on taste and quality. That's unfortunately the case when you don't have native New Orleaneans preparing the food . They have a good variety of Cajun and creole favorites, including some of the best Louisiana red beans and rice in DFW. Po-boys are descent, and the gumbo is good. I know the owners. Good people from New Orleans.
This was one of those spots that definetly serves good seafood. Not even mad at the price. .Came in with my family of 6 and our server was pretty cool and really attentive, i appreciate that! The atmosphere was hip and modern, very litty, which was a great combo with the delicious food. We got a couple appetetizers and they didnt dissapoint at all!! Then our crab boils came in with alot of flavor, heat and good sized quality seafood! I had the big boy and came with lobster, shrimp, ramen noodles, crab, corn, potatoes, sausage and a side of cajun beans and rice.. will be returning soon! 10.12.25 Came in today with my wife and child. I was told that during happy hour on sundays that gratuity is applied to your tab. Just fyi for anyone coming in, because i didnt see that anywhere on the menu. The menu Just says party of 5 or more that gratuity is applied.. i had 2 dos xx and had to pay a $21 gratuity for that.plus they were out of fries the last 2 times i came in.
I'm originally from New Orleans and been in Dallas for a month looking for a spot that serves delicious food like where I come from and it was recommended by a customer that i would enjoy it because it's authentic New Orleans food. I ordered voodoo eggrolls and oysters let me first say the oysters was under grilled and not tasty the voodoo eggrolls was so hard I could hit it on the table. The server came back to the table several times rushing me to order but after tasting the entrees I didn't want anything else please do not say this is New Orleans food because it's not, not even close in the taste or texture of the food.
If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this is.... not it! It's a family run bar with a really good food. The music's loud, it's hard to have a conversation unless your mouth inside of your dates ear, but once again ....the food is really-really good. It's served fast and the seasoning is just right. Special compliments to Amanda, she had to deal with a very difficult customer(my elderly wife.). We ordered the shrimp and catfish, added a side of oysters, and a bowl of gumbo. Everything was delicious!!!! However... It was way too loud in here. Eye contact with serving staff definitely, not a specialty here. The kids that are running the don't seem to care about the customers and the bathroom was dirty and in disrepair. For me , you have to be in the right mindset to come back and fully appreciate this restaurant. But I am reminded, it's really a bar that happens to have tasty food.
Ordered various items. Taste is subjective, but preparation is not. Most of the food was overcooked. It was either rubbery or mushy. At the time, crawfish season was at the end. I asked if their crawfish wash live or frozen. They assured me it was live. It did not taste fresh. The oysters were not good at all. The fries were frozen fries and not fried/heated well. The crab legs were about the only thing that was prepared well. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was decent. It could have used a good wipe down, though. I wouldn't recommend this place.
0 stars actually. Easily the worst seafood I have EVER tasted. It didn’t taste fresh or flavorful. Even the garlic butter on the side was terrible, which honestly feels impossible to mess up. I’m from New Orleans, and this place is absolutely not representative of what our food tastes like. Extremely disappointed.
Walked in during happy hour and was immediately told there would be an automatic 18% gratuity, even though I wasn’t planning to order anything from the happy hour menu. No large party, no special service—just a blanket charge for simply being there at that time. That feels misleading and unfair. Gratuity should be based on service, not the clock. This wasn’t clearly advertised at the entrance, and it definitely left a bad first impression. Customers shouldn’t feel penalized for walking in during happy hour, especially if they’re ordering regular menu items. I ended up leaving instead of ordering. Plenty of places nearby don’t force tips before any service is even provided. Disappointing experience and won’t be returning.
The place had an order..like mopped with dirty water..the bathroom was so filty we didnt use it..the music was extremely loud considering we were the ONLy ones there..the lemon drop was the best thing..The seafood eggroll tasted good until we saw a proud roach🪳 strolling through restaraunt..and both of us were sick at the end of the night🤮. This was all I had eaten..Eat at yur own risk
