THE CHINESE BBQ HERE IS OFF THE CHAIN! I MEAN REALLY GOOD! CAN NOT GO WRONG HERE! MY FAVORITE IS THEIR SOY SAUCE CHICKEN, BBQ PORK, ROAST PORK AND THEIR ROASTED DUCK!

The food was delicious and fresh. Good portions. I need to return to try different dishes

I have never had this style of Chinese but I love it. It is oey goey, flavorful and delicious. The food is not overly salted like some places. The only turn off to some might be it's modesty. Linoleum floors and fluorescent lighting. Kind of in a hole in the wall but let me tell you this place is straight out of Chinatown! I had the house won ton, beef chow fun with gravy, braised rock fish with tofu and a salt and pepper pork chop. My eyes rolled to the back of my head in a foodgasm and I heard the song, "this is heaven, just like heaven." The braised rockfish was like a Mike Tyson knockout. Just stars. I recommend this place highly. It is inexpensive. 60 bucks for 4 dishes and huge portions.

Order the Wonton Duck Noodle Soup. Thank me later. Don’t worry about the service or the atmosphere. The fried rice is good too. The food speaks for itself.

Excellent taste and flavor. Tried so many different dishes from them, from pork, duck, fish, noodles; everything we tried taste great. Place a bit tight, service is okay, you know it's a Chinese BBQ joint, it's normal. Great food overall

If you like Chinese style roast duck, this place is the one. 5 out of 5 picky old immigrant ladies and 4 out of 4 discerning lo fan neighbors agree this spot has the bomb diggity duck. As in, this year it supplanted a spot on Stockton St. in Chinatown that was the favorite for the last 5 years. And yes, there are differences, since it's all about a chef's technique. Remember that you have to specify whether you like it fatty or lean, like most Chinese bbq delis. Update: We have a new hyperlocal spot, but if we're doing a 99 run, then we're hitting Mr Fong too.

The bbq are consistently good, probably because they make make them onsite. Have been a customer for 15+ years. They're good about wearing their mask. I suggest their wings with sticky sweet honey sauce, Chicken clay pot (30 min), bbq duck, ying yang rice...steak-q beef.. Your best bet is to call ahead and omace your order.

Well I haven't ate there before but I happen to find them on Google because I was looking for some roasted duck , I had to order and pick it up , very delicious 😋 great taste, succulent very fulfilling !!..

Don’t come for the ambience but do come for Canto comfort Chinese food. This is as local as it can be. The whole ambience is a reminder to those greasy, savory, comforting food I grew up enjoying. The best items are the bbq items in combo with a wonton noodle soup, finished with a plate of stir fried vegetables or the “ho fun” or broad rice noodles with shrimp and egg sauce. I enjoy browsing the menu but most of the time I end ordering the same dishes. If I were to have a last meal, my usual from Mr Fong would be it. As I tell my family: “Mr. Fong can’t go wrong.”

Mr. Fong's is my gold standard for this type and price range of Chinese food and dining environment. I haven't found a comparable place in this area as of yet. This place isn't cheap chinese food, but more of a medium ground for pricing, and the food is outstanding for its price. We ordered four dishes/plates and the total came out to be $55 before tax and tip. Service is average and acceptable for this type of restaurant. They seat you, take your order, bring your food, and then your check when you're done eating. Nothing fancy and nothing that's missing for what you're paying for. There's also take out, which is a very popular choice. I have not ordered anything that didn't meet or exceed expectations (except one day out of countless visits). Portions are larger than expected. Highly recommended and a must try if you're in the area.

We don't live in SSF but we have family there and when we visit or have to pick up relatives at SFO, this is our go-to place for an authentic Chinese family-style meal. We also get the char-siu and the roast duck to take home for later. Yummy! The staff are friendly (but busy!). Bathroom is meh, but that's typically par for the course in my experience.

My mom loves duck since the Pandemic we were unable to buy roasted duck at Pacific Super at both Alemany and South City. Went on Google and seen this place. Reviews sold me. Unable to pre-order over phone, it's on a first come first serve basis. Ordered a whole Roasted duck and 1lb of roasted pork and Im happy to say my mom, hubby n bro-in law loved it! I'm not really a fan because there's always a certain taste to asian food which I'm told could be the 5 spices or seasoning idk 🤷‍♀️ Anyways, I'm very glad my mom enjoyed it for Valentine's day. Now we know where to go when she wants us to grab her a roasted duck since they live in Stanislaus county.

Everything was great! It's not a white cloth restaurant...it was quiet. Only 2 tables...so that's why service ans atmosphere was good...and this place has a good duck won ton noodle and the salt pepper fried tofu was excellent... the outside had a crisp to it and inside was soft

Very good roast duck. Good noodle soup. Liked the hand pulled noodles which are slightly thicker than your basic egg noodles; has a good chew to it. Good oxtail & gravy over rice. Pictured is the roast duck & soy sauce chicken to go, $13.95, & my leftover noodle soup.

Dried beef chow fun was ok. My kids liked the wet chow fun better and crispy fried yellow noodle with beef and tomatoes. Place is typical Chinese for quick lunch. My family do not like to dine in at this place since is the best he cleanliness.

We had beef chow fun and fried calamari. Both dishes were good. Got a lot of noodles which we liked. Calamari was good too but a bit skimpy on portion. Both were about $12 each. Had their roast duck on a prior visit and it is the best!

Best tip: eat in if you can, because portions of noodle and rice dishes tend to be a bit more and the salt & pepper pork chops don't get soggy. Great Hong Kong style BBQ joint with delicious, generous portions of Cantonese style soup and stir fried noodles and rice plates made to order that most families will enjoy at a fair price. You know it's legit when you can look into the kitchen from where you order takeout and you can see rows of whole ducks hanging, ready to be roasted. The small dining room with tables parked very close to each other is usually packed, so be patient. Parking can be challenging because the lot is shared with Manila Market, a bowling alley and a larger popular dim sum/seafood restaurant which holds weekend banquets.

This is exactly what you’d expect from an Asian BBQ joint. If you know what to expect, then you’re good to go. If it’s your first time, here are some notes. Definitely not the cleanest restaurant. Waiters/waitresses may not be the kindest and sometimes it’ll be hard to get their attention. Just be assertive. I wouldn’t use the bathroom. It’s kind of gross. It’ll help if you can speak Chinese, but if you point at stuff, that’ll suffice. On the other hand, Chinese BBQ is done right here. I’ve had BBQ pork so many times I can’t even count. I will recommend all their rice plates. They are priced well and will definitely fill you up. Or just order a plate of BBQ Pork. That’ll work too. Their fried chicken is also bomb along with the fried string beans. The noodles aren’t bad either. Good portions and will definitely keep you warm and full on a cold day in Daly City. Overall, definitely recommend as a spot for some seriously down to earth Chinese BBQ. Pro tip: become a regular and they’ll definitely increase your portions ;)

Good portions at a fair price. They have a very expansive menu as well. The decor is down and out and service sucks but, they make it up with their food. Parking can be tuff at times too since there’s a grocery store, bowling alley, and various other stores in the same lot.

V
Vicky Vuong

Their bbq duck is our go-to, can get quite busy around dinner time, but service is always quick. Tried their crispy pork and sweet pork, it’s a bit gamey for our taste.

Just looking at the roast duck, chicken and pork ribs hanging inside the store front is a cue this is a restaurant specialize in Chinese deli meat and they sell a ton. It's convenient to take the cha siu aka roast pork to go, but I like eating it there because they serve the meat with fresh hot rice and vegetables aka rice plates. The chow fun rice noodles and won ton soup is also very delicious. Neighborhood favorite that I frequent.

BBQ pork rice over rice $17.05 (includes tax) take out. The BBQ pork tasted OK. It was juicy, tender and had a sweet glaze. The restaurant was empty at 7pm. In terms of service, the three workers were just hanging out with no work.

Pretty solid spot if you're looking for good Chinese BBQ. Some of my favorites from here are their black pepper beef chow fun, spicy garlic fried chicken wings as well as their fish filet. Their portions are huge. Such a bang for your buck. Food came out pretty quickly too. I went around 2pm on a Saturday and it was still relatively busy at this time. If you're looking to order take out, highly recommend calling ahead. Parking is a huge plus in my book. Accepts cards too. Again, highly recommend the dishes I mentioned above!

The roasted duck is just the best. My family and I have gone to several places in the bay area for duck and this is one of the best places for it. Just don’t go too late or the duck will be served cold. The soup noodles aren’t that great but things like the congee or stir fried noodles are quite good. The deep fried pork is also quite good. The service isn’t the best but it’s bearable. The only reason we really go back to this place is because of the duck.

I Love Mr. Fong's but "expletive delete" man $40 bucks for lunch is too much! Asked about a lunch menu and somehow (cough) ended up with screw the pooch family style portions. Guys like me get stuck like this all the time unless I make an argument of it. Wasn't a clean table in the place when I popped in after lunch rush which was about two. Waitstaff was obviously worn out and off their game from not only my own misgivings and problems too small to mention but the solid complaints I couldn't help overhearing from the other two covers. Awkwaaaard. All the same, food's a real treat here. Everything with the food was really good. Loved it. Spicy garlic wings, fried rice, hot and sour soup lunch (with an egg rolI which I didn't get here) is just about a ten buck lunch anywhere else. Food gets five stars with the overall review anchored down by everything else.

Some of you might look at this first picture and be grossed out! Others of you like me will salivate at what the final masterpieces of duck and pig will be. Mr. Fong in Daly City is another spot in Bay Area known for their succulent ducks and crispy and juicy roast pork to serve your Chinese BBQ cravings! I'm here for this! But, some friends wanted Crispy Hk style combo chowmein and this place does a decent job. Sweet and sour pork, not bad. The salted fish and chicken fried rice was really good and was the standout dish for this night. It helps that the chef and owners are from "Toisan village" in China and this is one of their signatures. I have not eaten inside the restaurant since before the pandemic. But let's be real, the service used to mediocre and you are not here for service. Food was " ok for a weekday lunch or dinner". Nothing fancy or rave about. I will come back for dine in again. Parking is hit and miss due to being in a crowded shopping center.

Ordered their roast duck w/rice. The skin of the duck was tasty, but the pieces they gave me were all boney except for 1 peice of breast meat. Felt like they gave the worse pieces to their takeout order. I ordered on doordash. Came with a side of bok choi that tasted like it was boiled in tea.

Not sure how people are praising it being so good. I got the duck. It was okish. But what pissed me off the most was how cold it was. It's like dude at least microwave it.. Also if you want ugly service this is the place to go. This was my very first time (and last!) And the lady threw my card. It's like seriously what did I do to you that you're throwing my visa card. First picture is what was left. As you can see there was more fat than the actual duck. Service 1 out of 5. Food. 3 our of 5. Would I go here again? Never! Can't believe I paid so much for so little!

I have been going to Mr Fongs for a long time and have been fairly happy with everything but not today. Bought some BBQ pork and it was like Cha Seu jerky. Dry and hard. Came back within the hour to complain and they said that it was too late. Not very good customer service.

This is one of those typical Cantonese style restaurant with rose duck and roast pork plus叉燒肉. the flavorite of each dish are lacking. The soup base for wonton soup and noodle taste like plain water. Their roast duck taste average at the best, it's more like below average at a typical Cantonese restaurant.

Good food but the price is not right. Small portions for $20 plates. Extremely rude services, tips are enforced even when eating alone. No one speaks English, the cooks look dirty and angry. The only thing keeping them alive is that they haven’t renewed their lease.

I went here because of the reviews and because I bowl at Classic Bowl. Just wanted a quick bite to eat. Hostess was very rude. When I walked in she "What do you want?" Then proceeded to point to the menu for me to get myself and order. Upon leaving I asked for soy sauce and was told it was in the bag. There was none in the bag. The food is decent but nothing special. I ordered the roast duck and roast pork. I will not patronize this establishment again!!!

Line for ordering and line for duck n pork are separated but nobody tells you and theres no sign. Server are bumping into you while in line, you are lucky if you hear excuse me. Small n busy place. Food is good. Price not cheap and not expensive. Cashier allowed multiple people to cut in front of me. I was ordering to go. Very bad experienced 3 times I've been here.

I was very disappointed with this place. The way the food is described on the menu. Who ever does that or is in charge of marketing should get a raise. Because the food you get is nothing like they make it sound. No flavor, no spice, broth I was given on the side with my noodles and pork chops had no flavor. it was like warm water. The steamed vegetables it said it came with only came with one single piece of bok choy that’s it!! Total let down and just not good. I love Chinese food but this for $22! Total rip off. Save your money, I do not recommend eating here and if you do don’t expect what you read on the menu to match what is served to you.

I asked for the BBQ pork and duck with the flat egg noodle. I was given this after having to inquire about my order. They didn’t want to change it because it was already made. Feels as though I was given someone’s dish as the noodles were barely warm.

The Chinese woman with short red hair would make trouble for the customers, and everyone didn't want to be offended. The reason was that I waited in line until I compared the money. This woman couldn't get the order out in one sentence, so she asked me to leave. She also said that she couldn't do it now, which made people very uncomfortable. She even scolded me when I gave her money.

The business hours posted says 10:30am to 8:30pm. I went in at 2pm, all the staffs are eating lunch and told me to wait for 10-15 minutes before someone is free to help. The management needs to have better scheduling system. How can you send all your staffs to lunch and say you are open for business?
