Some of the best meatballs I've ever had! The Penne ala Vodka was pretty good too. We were seated in the adjacent treating room which was nice, but was pretty noisy.
We’ve eaten here often and it always is outstanding. The service is excellent and the food wonderful. Five stars every time.
I spent my birthday here, the dinner and service were great! Marwa from Rome was our waitress, we loved her energy and made our dinner very special. Thanks to all the crew!
This was truly a culinary delight. The place has outdoor and indoor areas with a nice bar setting. The service was top notch and they were very careful in making sure that the table was always clean. We had burchetta, the specials like lobster tail and branzino saute plates, calamaris, chicken piccata, lasagne and pasta. Each dish was delicious and tasted very authentic. We had a few bottles of the Brunello di Montalcino and it was some good wines. I am going back for more. We ended with tiramisu, pannacotta and all was amazing.
Locanda Ravello is a fantastic spot with great ambiance and excellent food. The steak was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with crispy fries and a fresh salad. Attentive service and a warm atmosphere make this a place I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommended
Malu was very attentive and friendly, she suggested some plates for us and explained the menu. The food was good and came out really fast. Thank you Malu for your service and making our afternoon very pleasant, we’ll be back soon!
Love this spot! The service is always fast and professional but with a fun feel. The good is reliably quality and the variety of atmosphere options is unique - outdoor garden vibe with heaters, a small bar with high top tables, 2 dining rooms to choose from (one is their wine storage). It’s a go to spot when we have friends visiting or just want to go somewhere nice for date night.
We hosted a lunch for a group of 8 today at Locanda Ravello and had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, but the food truly stole the show! Dish Highlights We ordered a few excellent entrées, but the Branzino was absolutely sublime—we ordered three servings, and they were all perfectly prepared. Similarly, the Spaghetti Vongole was fresh, flavorful, and tasted authentic. The Vegetarian Panini also made for a great, hearty option for the non-meat eaters. Dessert Showcase You must save room for dessert! Our table enjoyed a wide range of offerings: the Tiramisu was classic and decadent, the Zeppoline were warm and delightful, and the refreshing Torta Limoncello and Sorbetto Limone provided the perfect light finish to the meal. Overall Experience Our server and the service overall were excellent and handled our large party flawlessly. We highly recommend Locanda Ravello for an authentic Italian experience, especially if you are dining in a group!
The food is excellent and the service to match. We had the tortellini, ravioli, and steak - all of which were delicious, presented beautifully, and served with class. I worked as a catering server in college and noticed that the waiter at this restaurant actually served everything from the correct side and was very attentive. The setting is friendly, fun, and classy with an outdoor area set between two very nicely renovated small houses and yellow umbrellas that scale the complete space. Thoughtfully done.
I absolutely love Italy, so it was such a pleasure to spend an evening at Locanda Ravello, a cozy restaurant filled with authentic Italian warmth. The pasta was delicious and the pizza was incredibly fresh — we were truly impressed. Thank you, Antonio, for giving us a magical two hours in Italy!
My colleagues and I had the most delicious and special meal while visiting Danville this weekend. Thank you so much especially to the owner, Fillipo, for taking care of us. I recommend the penne alla vodka and san daniele pizza. Also the espresso martini was a nice night cap! ;) Thanks for the fabulous night!
The food was great, the service was one of the worst, and the atmosphere was cozy. This was our anniversary dinner and I had requested a nice spot for the special occasion while reserving online. It looked like the request wasn't honored and we got one of the smallest table possible. The table could barely fit two plates and drinks. With starters and bread it was overcrowded and was piling up. The server had a rude attitude. It looked like the wrong pronunciation of the Italian menu annoyed him, even though I was pointing to the item that I wanted to order. Not at all host worthy i would say !!! He was more focused on correcting the pronunciation rather than focusing on answering our questions. Now comes the food and drinks. The gnocchi was very tasty and the pesto sauce was so delicious and smooth but not overpowering. Never had one like it. I took the salmon with veggies. It tasted good as well. Not exceptional. I didn't like the strong fishy smell, which indicates it wasn't fresh. I took the negroni cocktail and it tasted fine. Later, after we paid the bill we felt that we should get the dessert too. It was such a long wait to get the server to take our dessert order (there were not many guests left either) that we ended up leaving the table after waiting for him for 15 minutes. On the way out I asked another staff member instead to get us a tiramisu for take out. The tiramisu was excellent as well.
The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. We liked the Fritto Misto and Salsiccia e Porcini. Especially the pizza dough is very similar to Neapolitan pizza. However the pasta that the waiter said was special for today was not very good and unfortunately the service was a bit slow. After eating the Fritto Misto we had to wait 15 minutes to get our pizza and pasta.
Came here at prime dinner time without a reservation. Inside was pretty busy so we were given the option to sit outside under the open air tents and heater. It was pretty windy out but with warm jackets and hot water, we made it through. The app bread was soft and tasty. The bowl it came in made it difficult to get to the vinaigrette, but still tasty. The calamari also had a surprisingly good taste and texture but it came out lukewarm, which the wind outside accelerated things. We both ordered the special of the day. He loved it. I however thought it was too gamey. The waiter was super cool about letting me order something different. I went with the lasagna and loved it! Hot, huge portion, bursting with flavor, simple but cute presentation. Easily my go to meal there. Would definitely return but with a reservation for inside or outside on a warmer night.
It was a family gathering and I wasn't the one who paid the bill but the food was VERY bland (both the appetizers and the chicken main course), the salmon had bones, dessert was choking dry. Sorry I have no other words. The service was good but they forgot my son's order. All wait staff and crew were courteous and professional and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. I cannot recommend the food, sorry.
I've been here many many times, but I feel like the service has gone down. More recently, I dined solo and arrived at 5:00 p.m. As the evening progressed and the restaurant filled, I was left forgotten. I had to ask for water multiple times along with the bill. My previous experience was earlier this year with a girlfriend for lunch, and again, similar issues where service was lacking. The restaurant was not even full. My dinner (drink, salad, pasta) was well over $50 not including the tip, so this gives me pause whether to return. Unfortunate, cuz I love the aesthetics of this place.
I attended a bridal shower today in a spacious private room that featured a bar with a bartender. They offered about five specialty drinks, including one non-alcoholic option, which I tried and found very enjoyable. The wait staff was excellent—attentive and friendly throughout the event. Having previously dined at the Brentwood location, I had high expectations for the food here, especially since the dishes at Locanda Capri in Brentwood are outstanding. Because this was a large gathering, we had a set menu. Unfortunately, the Vesuvio Salad lacked flavor despite adding salt and pepper, although it was visually appealing. I ordered the Pollo Parmigiana, which consisted of two thin, breaded cutlets that were overcooked, dry, and difficult to cut with the provided butter knife. It was accompanied by two wedge slices of potatoes, totaling about a quarter of a potato, and some very mushy eggplant. I was not pleased with this dish. For dessert, I had the Italian donuts with hazelnut chocolate, which seemed to have been microwaved, making them rubbery and tough to chew. I could only manage a small bite, as the flavor didn’t make up for the unpleasant texture. Perhaps the food quality was affected by the large party; I’m unsure about the rest of their menu. At the Brentwood location, I’ve had five-star dishes like gnocchi, ribeye steak, and rice balls. Maybe those options would be similarly excellent here, and if I return, I’ll be sure to try them. I give five stars each for the great service and nice ambiance. Sadly, I give two stars fully the food I had today.
I had dinner here and was expecting better food based on the reviews. I ordered pasta and pizza—both were just okay. The pizza became chewy after about 20 minutes, and the pasta was average. Because of this, I decided to skip dessert. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance and is nicely decorated from the outside. However, we were seated next to the wine fridge, where a bright light shone directly in our faces. This was disappointing, especially since I had requested a good table when making the reservation. One thing that made me uncomfortable was the server watching closely while I added the tip. I prefer a more relaxed experience without feeling observed. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I expected more.
I went last Saturday with family for the first time at this Locanda location. We booked for 7pm and the table was not ready at 7pm, so me and my groupe of 7 people had to wait outside for a few minutes (it was pouring rain - they did have umbrellas covering us but we still got a little soaked). They offered us to go wait at the bar but it was packed. Once seated, the waiter was kind but not very attentive to our table and we asked many times for stuff to be brought to us that the staff kept forgetting. I got the linguine squid ink pasta with sea food and what a disappointment. It tasted like it was right out of the freezer. The whole plate tasted like the freezer, even the pasta. The tiramisu was good but not great. The decor is cute and ambiance is great, but will definitely not go back.
Parking: there is a nearby public parking so not much to worry about. Service: we had a table for four but only three plates were given. We ordered and asked for appetizer to be given first but the they brought the entree first. Appetizer didn’t even show up until we were half way through the entree. I will give the benefit of doubt it’s because of busy day Food: it was delicious and quantity and quality both were good Kids menus : limited but they have kids menu. The pizza in the kids menu is large enough for a 10 year old Ambience: great place. Must get the outdoor. They have live spaghetti and cheese blending and that’s awesome
