We love flower child because it caters to everyone, has delicious food and has a menu that allows you to customize your food. Plus, their gluten free cookies are freaking amazing!! We've been to their Charlotte, NC location and their Del Mar, CA location. You're going to get the same experience and food at any of their locations, except you will find very slight variations of the dishes because they make the food fresh, to order and cooked by chefs, rather than a fast food approach.

Lovely, kid friendly, health conscious lunch and dinner, cafe style option nestled in Del Mar. The prices were reasonable, atmosphere was wonderful and its perfect for families, kids and groups! They have a huge variety of indoor and outdoor seating options. The food is delicious and extremely customizable for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free desires - or just anyone that loves food!

We loved the food so much, we came back the next day! I wish we had a place like this near our home. The food is delicious and healthy, with plenty of seating in and outside —great for groups with kids or adults. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food comes out quickly. The only downside is parking—it took us about 20 minutes to find a spot during peak hours.

Updated review: I cater a lot for my work, and whenever my team sees colorful catering boxes by Flower Child, they look so happy! This is my go to for healthier wraps, and a good part is that experience shows, everything we order from here is delicious. The Rebel, Carolina Bbq chicken and Flying Avocado are the stars though. Previous Review: Delicious food, lots of healthy meals selection. I first found out about this place from catering at work. It tasted very good, so I decided to come in with my kids and the three of us enjoyed our meal a lot.

The food was great, very healthy options that does not make you feel regretful after you eat. It was difficult first time coming was overwhelming because of all the options. I was tempted to order more than the Italian chopped salad with tofu, but held back because it was definitely filling.

Absolutely Impressed! Flower Child offers many, clearly marked and already vegan, menu items. This place knows how to source really great produce and treat it with respect. There's a finesse to the food preparation here that keeps everything super fresh but also very satisfying. Plenty of patio seating and great energy. Love this place! Must tries: Glow bowl (with sweet potato "noodles"), Vegan (grilled) Artichoke Salad, and the Choose Three Vegetarian Sides (with totally amazing Yuzu Brussels Sprouts, Heirloom Tomato and Watermelon Salad, and Charred Asparagus Slaw).

What a great place for healthy eats and a fun vibe in an active locale of Del Mar! Plenty of seating inside and out. Great Vegan and Vegetarian items as well as fun eats for meat eaters etc. Beer & Wine options are available. I went for late lunch and parking was easy but might be busier closer to normal lunchtime. They also have an app to download for deals and rewards for purchases. I received a coupon for free appetizer after I used the app the first time for an order!

The house made sangria was great, a little sweet and served over ice. The food was very salty to me, only just overly salty and perfectly so to my husband. A ton of delicious options for ices tea, alcohol and food.

The food was amazing! They probably have the best tasting broccoli ever. Lots of great healthy options. The gluten free Mac cheese was great as well. Lots of good healthy options here. Staff was friendly and the overall experience was 5 star. I’ll be back and try something else 👍

Everything we order was great (especially the Avocado Caesar Salad!) Limited options for drinks but the teas/lemonade were good. Staff was friendly and fast. Only negative point was that the AC was super cold but the terrace sitting was nice. Would definitely recommend

I had the Mother Earth bowl and added Shrimp and Salmon. The meal arrived in just a couple of minutes. The flavors blended well. The shrimp and salmon was cooked to perfection. I walked away, completely satisfied. Would recommend this place for a great, healthy lunch.

This is my go-to for solitude on a weekday late afternoon. I can grab a bowl or their special, maybe a dessert and drink then head downstairs to the quiet "underground". Or I can sit on the patio, under an umbrella and enjoy our amazing weather. The waitstaff are intent on helping you however they can, and the decor is charming. Give it a try.

Absolutely delicious! Nice atmosphere and great service. Only reason 4 stars is just the price, I know it's Del Mar, but it was $25 for my plate. Ingredients were great though so for an occasional stop when at the fairgrounds it's definitely a tasty treat!

I had dinner here after my massage today. The food was very good, but the service didn’t really match the price. It felt a bit expensive.

Then there's a large room downstairs and a nice large outdoor patio in the back. Everything is decorated really cute. The staff is nice and friendly when they took our orders at the counter and when delivering our food to the table. I'm deducting stars because the portions were pretty small for how much I paid. I ordered the $17+ braised bed pot roast plate. What got dropped off at the table looked like half an order with a small scoop of mushy mashed potatoes. $17 plus a fountain drink was a $23 lunch before I even added the tip. For an average tasting lunch. Maybe I should have ordered the wrap like my friend. It had a full size wrap and came with a small side salad. Parking was also a nightmare. Not enough parking for all the restaurants,businesses, and Whole Foods.

It was my first time eating here and I was very disappointed. The salmon was bland. The cauliflower was dry and it was supposed to have cashews and I had three cashews. The sweet potatoes were cold. Even the flowers on the table were dead.

I love Flower Child and visit the Newport Beach location regularly, so I was excited to stop at this San Diego location while we were in the area. We chose this spot specifically because we saw the shrimp plate with a side of cornbread outside, my daughter was so excited about the cornbread. Unfortunately, she has a shrimp allergy, so ordering the shrimp dish wasn’t an option. When we asked if we could simply purchase a side of cornbread, the team member ringing us up was kind and willing to help, but after checking with the manager, the answer was a firm no. What made this disappointing wasn’t just the policy, it was the delivery. The manager declined with an unkind tone and an uncomfortable glare that felt unnecessary and unwelcoming, especially in a situation involving a child and a food allergy. I’ll continue to enjoy my local Flower Child, but this experience missed the mark on hospitality and flexibility that I’ve come to expect from the brand.
