Had the BBQ chicken sandwich. It was outstanding! Juicy and flavorful! The fries were crispy and tasty. Server was prompt, polite and attentive
Great breakfast to start your day! Buffet or menu- Staff is wonderful and nice amenities-
Really good side salad and excellent hamburger! Very friendly service.
The Park Street Kitchen and Bar is inside the beautiful one year old Hilton Downtown Des Moines. Restaurant has super friendly staff, very professional. Comfortable banquette seating and attentive service. Have visited twice, for lunch. For dinner. I highly recommend the house smoked salmon toast. At the bar I ordered a hamburger. The thick sauce that was on the side was amazing! The fries were perfect. The bartender, who has been there since day one is super friendly and makes a great drink. I've sat at the bar and the very comfortable lobby seating. The bar is open to the modern, soaring ceiling lobby. If you park at the near by 5th and Watson Powell way ramp you use the temperature controlled skywalk. So, if is raining or snowing, freezing or super hot you avoid the elements as the skywalk goes right through the lobby! I highly recommend that you visit, even if your not a hotel guest. If you're attending an event at the Iowa Event Center and Wells Fargo Arena next door the skywalk takes you there.
Great food they have take out only during pandemic
Nice place! Service was outstanding!
We had a birthday party with a large group and the service was wonderful. They brought out complimentary appetizers and was very attentive. The food delicious! I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place.
For restaurant week, we eat at only the finest places. This year, last-minute planning and full schedules led us to try Park Street Kitchen and Bar. It rated right up there with past visits to Des Moines’ best restaurants. The food was a-may-zing and Danielle our server was knowledgeable, attentive and efficient. We’ll be back.
On the spending side given hotel location.
The food was really good. The waitress was delightful. Don’t let the location detour you.
Splendid food and the menu is a wide variety of entries, meats, salads. The service is professional and kind.
Lavette is an amazing server and very kind! The food is delicious!
Great service and the food was delicious!
Delicious food and great cocktails!
The food and service was excellent
Great food and service!
best grits in town
They took very good care of us when we dined here before a big concert happening next door (we had a reservation). The service was great and the food was even better. We had delicious mocktails, apps, and incredible ice cream. I mean, does fun food before a concert get any better than this? This place deserves a better rating! And the restaurant and hotel are beautiful. To top it all off, it’s so convenient. We walked right into the concert through their connecting skywalk. Wow!
We came on a Monday evening that was very slow. Our server, Sherman, gave excellent suggestions. Food is cooked to perfection with great presentation. We will definitely come back.
My daughter and I ate supper here after wrestling tournament. George was our server and he was wonderful!! The food was delicious and portions were perfect. We had the cheese curds, pretzel bites, steak mac &cheese and the blackened salmon. We have no complaints everything was wonderful.
11/25: good menu selection, reasonable prices and excellent service.
Professional staff and delicious food!! I got the Pesto Alfredo. It had penne noodles with Alfredo sauce and grilled chicken with pesto drizzled over top. The breadsticks on the side were also good!
Had a burger for a late lunch, it was very good. Service was pretty good too, although they had the bartender/waitress doing lots of things so she disappeared for a several minutes. But that wasn't too big of a deal. Ranch dressing was great too! A little pricey ($30 for one person, weekday lunch: cheeseburger, pop, tip), but that's to be expected with hotel restaurants. Will return.
Expensive, but yummy. The ranch is so good. I had the vegan burger with a side salad. Staff was very nice.
Lovely open restaurant. Not busy when I visited. Good choice on the menu. Staff polite and helpful
This place is decent. They have a limited selection but my meal was prepared well and I enjoyed the laid-back nature of the restaurant. There are higher quality meals to be had in Des Moines, but if you've never been here you might as well check it out.
Excellent restaurant/ bar inside the Hilton downtown Des Moines
Waitstaff was Exceptional!! Service was slow and one order was not prepared
Very quiet at lunch. Highly recommend the tenderloin.
I had the Salmon.it was delicious.
Good food
Good food here
My wife and I decided to try Park Street Kitchen for Valentine's Day. The restaurant is located in the ground level of the Hilton. Parking was a nightmare due to events at Hy Vee Hall and Casey's Arena. We parked in Hilton's gated lot and the front desk validated our parking. The menu was somewhat limited but the food was decent. I got chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas were a good size with good flavor without being soggy. The rice seemed like packaged Spanish rice. My wife had Chicken Alfredo. It was a good size portion and the flavor was good.
Had dinner there and ordered the pork chop. It was ok. Meat and a side
We saw some good reviews and chose to go here—as we were from out of town. They have a very limited breakfast menu and a buffet which cost $21 per person. I know buffets can be expensive but we have stayed at places that offer similar continental breakfasts, so not impressed.
Well the server was doing the best she could under the circumstances she was in . Our table wasn't even greered for some time. When they took our drink order and food order at the same time. Since we had a while to read over the menu . I ordered a drink along with my friend, to which we found out they ran out of the ingredients to make it . I ordered a different drink that was just ok . The pizza reminded me of something a 3rd grader would make at home . Dessert was okay . They had one server on for a Saturday night . Yet she only had 4 tables in the restaurant . Conserve your water because they don't refill it very fast at all . Settling if you go because it will be a long experience .
Mushroom risotto was tasteless. No seasoning of any kind. I saw 1 mushroom. The "autumn roasted salad" with butternut squash had pieces of squash smaller than a peanut and about 15 pieces in all. The reuben sandwich had lots of meat. Save your money and go somewhere else
Didn't realize this was a hotel restaurant until we got there. Think hotel buffet but 2x the price (21/ea) Food was normal hotel buffet, nothing special, not that great.
Find somewhere else, even if you’re staying at the hotel and this place looks convenient. Awful service. Most of the staff tried their best not to make eye contact, both when approached by customers waiting to be seated and those that wanted water or coffee. Breakfast was mostly a buffet (little to no service required) and they were overwhelmed to the point that we got our coffee after we finished eating both days we ate here. Food was ok- nothing remarkable. Very overpriced for what it is. Almost $30 for the breakfast buffet.
[Personal rating system at end of comments] Summary: Meh, and overpriced. So I stayed at the downtown Hilton for 16 nights over the course of two months (January and December) and tried this restaurant multiple times because of it's convenient location. Overall, it was consistently disappointing. The first time I ate here should have clued me in. When the hostess showed me to my table, I was literally the only person in the restaurant. I was concerned about time so I ordered something simple - a fried chicken sandwich. It took 35 minutes to come out. It was decent, but not particularly impressive. Keep in mind, I was the only customer in this restaurant for the entire 35 minutes. I tried their flatbread (pizzas). They were floppy, not crisp, and definitely overpriced. I tried their lasagna. It was a unique take on lasagna made with some kind of braised beef and it was okay, but it was not worth what I paid for it. Their tomato soup is worth mentioning. I think they smoke the tomatoes and it has a unique flavor. I could see myself growing to like that, but I'm not sure I want to go through the effort to acquire the taste. I also need to point out that several of my colleagues did enjoy the salmon and said it was perfectly cooked. Half of them weren't sure it was worth what they paid for it though. My rating system: 5 stars: a destination - this place is worth going out of your way for 4 stars: good place - if you're around, give it a try 3 stars: okay - not bad but not good either (maybe it's overpriced) 2 stars: ugh - I don't feel like it was worth the money I paid, but if someone else is paying I'll still eat here 1 star: bad - steer clear; even if free I don't think I would eat here again
Waited an hour for salad and had this clown tell us each cup of soup was made individually…Come on man. Don’t lie to me. Just say your short handed. There is no way a cup of soup takes as long as made from scratch fried chicken Mr. Hook🙄🙄
We had lunch today at PSK and Bar and honestly the worst burgers we ever eaten cooked okay but flavorless and fries were very well done and burnt on the ends .Server seemed like we inconvenienced him as they were still cleaning up from breakfast at 1230pm . The beers were good that's about it on the list for Restaurant Week but not worth it at all .
Ordered overpriced hamburger, clearly it is a frozen patty and they had salted it so much, it could be eaten.
Burger was ordered medium, got a well done, chard piece of coal. Service sucked. Server was not attentive at all.
Food was overpriced, tasted freezer burnt, and waitress came once in 20 minutes
Had the pesto Alfredo chicken… it was terrible
This restraunt is in such a beautiful hotel so very disappointed in the product they serve to guests.Do not get the breakfast buffet. $23 for cold, old food. Pancakes and eggs were rubber, pastries tasted several days old. Only saving grace was a freshly prepared omelette....not worth the price. Any mid range hotel continental breakfast is better than this.
Staying at Hilton for 4 nights, last year we did the same and the creamy mushroom was the BEST burger I had EVER had. Even at the price of $21.00 we had the 3 of 4 nights and couldn't wait to get back for another. This year it's off the menu but we went down for the breakfast. Wow the eggs and quiche were incredible!! Seriously I spit both out and I don't do that, it's rude! This was off the "buffet" which at any other hotel would have been included with the room. Well it was NOT!! ITS WAS $49.22 for 2 "buffets" the only thing that was good was the juice and the sausage! The sausage was actually delicious! That being said, $49.22 for 1 apple juice, 1 O.J, 2 pieces of sausage and 3 slices of bacon is BEYOND CRAZY!! Especially with the price of the room! Sorry guys, EPIC fail!
We went here thinking this would be a great high end place to eat supper. Instead we got a server that took 1 hour to bring us drinks and another 30-40 minutes to get the food we ordered. The server was unapologetic for the delayed service and proceeded to ask my friend to sing him a song which put her on the spot and made her feel very uncomfortable. I also had to help the server run the register to seperate off the drinks from the food we ordered going up multiple times to get the same bill.
The salmon I ate here today was not fully cooked, and the chef claimed it was supposed to be cooked "medium". I didn't want to eat it, but I got no refund or discount. Staff was incredibly slow. Took forever for the "manager" to run my credit card. Terrible experience, food of my companions was just so-so and overpriced. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant.
