Visited O’Shea’s Restaurant in Dublin with my girlfriend and had a great experience. We started with a proper pint of Guinness, silky and smooth — a must when you’re in the home of Guinness! For mains, we shared Irish Stew and fish and chips. The venue was busy, but the food arrived quickly and was hearty, flavorful, and well-prepared. The stew even came with a pint as part of a meal deal, which was a nice touch. It feels like a true local hotspot for traditional Irish fare, with good prices and solid portions. Would happily return if I’m ever in Dublin again.
Absolutely fantastic meal! The steak was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were golden and crispy, and the fresh salad balanced everything nicely. The sauce complemented the steak beautifully, and the overall presentation was spot on. Great quality food, generous portions, and a very satisfying dining experience. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be coming back!
We found this place quite hungry so ordered a lot, but the food was so good we finished it all! I loved the Guinness braised beef and their Fish’n’Chips, it felt like a good introduction to the Irish cuisine😍 Recommend!
Superb Irish experience, loved my lamb stew and even my Guinness beer. Service was great. The bread was real bread and not like the crap we eat back home.
Brilliant place for a real taste of Ireland. Staff were great especially Savanah. Steak was so tender. Irish stew and Beef and Guinness stew really exceptional
Food was good, service was fast and stuff was friendly. More like eat and go place, rather than sit and drink.
Stopped for a late morning breakfast. Enjoyed a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Server was delightful. Would happily recommend!!
We had a fantastic experience at O'Shea's! The food was really good — great quality and generous portions, and, for the area it's in, the prices were not too expensive. The restaurant itself was nice and the bathrooms were clean. What really stood out, though, was the staff — everyone was incredibly kind. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot with good food, fair prices, and a warm, friendly vibe. We got 2 whiskey sausages and 1 irish stew and both were very good. However, we did get water bottles instead of tap water which was our mistakes so it was 21.39 euros per person (3 people total).
I can recommend the Irish stew. I found it less pricey than other restaurants in the area and the flavour is totally recommendable. The service pays attention and cares for the guests.
Dinner at O’Sheas Restaurant a warm welcome with great service! Best delicious steak medium rare and absolutely perfect with peppercorn sauce; Chips and salad. Also delicious and plenty of meat in the Irish stew washed down with a pint of Guinness a great meal had by all! Highly recommended!
The place is very cozy. It looks like a family business. There are a lot of pictures with football teams. The place is not very big, but it had everything to make us feel pleasant. We had whiskey sausages and fish and chips. All very tasty. The Irish coffee was not on our taste, because the whiskey in there was too strong. But that is a matter of taste. The experience was great anyway.
This was a fantastic restaurant for dinner, with frames across the wall around the history of Dublin including photos of the city in the olden days! Restaurant name is nicely styled into the entrance and staff were welcoming, seating is comfortable too. Table was presented neatly and I had a delicious steak with peppercorn sauce; baked potato and salad were fresh!
We were giving the table of our choice with linen table cloths and set for dinner. Our waitress was helpful in seating us with my 2 year old granddaughter. We started with the smoked salmon which was generous enough for us all to share. I had the the favorite Guinness and Irish stew it was great and only 20 euros. From one Shea to another you have done our name proud.
It is an amazing place. Traditional Irish food is awesome. Desert and Irish coffee are of must to do. A place to sit and have an amazing lunch in Dublin. Mandy and Manuel are awesome to serve with the best lively Irish traditional plates. Lamb cutlets, stews, soups oh La La La. They are very welcoming. We Highly recommend this place in the crowded Dublin.
I called in the morning for a table in the evening, very good friendly customer service and easy to talk to. The food is sublime, we had the steak and southern fried chicken. The steak in my opinion is the best I've had in Ireland. The food is fresh, the southern fried chicken was so good, it wasn't over salted like commercial ones. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Would strongly recommend 👌
Such a lovely spot. Quiet, great service, fantastic food and the prices were reasonable. As a tourist, nice to find a spot near the Temple Bar area that didn’t feel overrun with crowds. Highly recommend trying the Irish Beef Stew - fabulous.
Top notch Irish restaurant. Ordered lamb cutlets and it did not disappoint
Gotta try the pint of Guinness and Irish stew combo! The pint is cold and crispy and the Irish stew is to die for! Take your time and enjoy the delicious food and authentic atmosphere. If you’re in a rush go eat at McDonald’s ! Thank you for the delicious food!!
If I had six stars to give, I would do so. Wow! We came across this place by coincidence. It’s an Italian-run Irish restaurant at the very centre of the busy Temple Bar district. The staff is super nice and they do everything to sit you, which can be challenging since the place is in high demand and tables are a limited resource. The prices are unbelievably competitive in comparison to the surrounding Temple Bar restaurants. Kudos to that! The burger in the attached picture was 10 Euro, what a bargain:).
Yesterday me and other six people went to this restaurant. I ordered an Irish stew and the other fish and chips and buffalo wings. We ate everything. The food was delicious, really well-cooked and it doesn’t cost much, was about 10€ per person. Also the waiter was super professional. The place is really cool and comfortable. I firmly suggest this place!!!!!!!!!
Cozy. Welcoming. Quick service. Incredible comfort food. We went here on our first night and the Irish stew was absolutely LIFE-CHANGING! So warm and delicious, and I swear everything came in under 10 minutes. Our waitress was so lovely, she used to live in Boston (where we were visiting from!) and was so fun to chat with. Amazing first impression for Dublin (and amazing prices too) ❤️
Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had the tastiest Beef Stew with Guinness Sauce and a Pint that I have ever had in my life! Very nice and friendly service and I took the opportunity to sit outside and watch the tourists getting drunk outside the bars down the road! 🤣
Amazing Irish stew. I got the Irish stew, and it was probably one of the best things I've ever had. It was amazing.
Food was out of this world, highly recommend the Irish stew with their house red. Sip the red and have a mouthful of the stew, absolute symphony of flavours. Great service and good prices. Even on a Monday night it was relatively busy in the winter - so consider booking ahead.
Walked by this place just wanting fish and chips. Left having had my life changed by the Sticky Toffee pudding. The dessert and Irish coffee here are the best I have ever had! Very reasonable prices and fantastic service! I will be coming back ASAP!!
Homey atmosphere , delicious Irish food, prices very affordable. Highly recommended this hot food belly feeling spot, you won’t get rip off.
Tried Irish stew for the first time. Delicious and very filling. Guinness was as good as always!
The place is small but welcoming, the staff was kind and fast. I wanted to taste something local and I chose the irish stew: I couldn't have made a better choise. I recommend it. The prices were ok, we paid less than 20€ per person.
We ordered the traditional Irish stew (not the Guinness one) and the sausages with whiskey sauce. Both were delicious, but the Irish stew was amazing! SO flavorful and one of the best stews I’ve ever had. Really nice staff, too!
Came for the steak and was not disappointed. It was cooked exactly as I wanted. Great service, free wifi, good location for people watching. The menu has something for everyone, including the classic Irish stuff. Cheers!
Good location and tasty food. They also have a kids menu 😉 I’ve ordered whiskey sausage and it tasted great, the portion was pretty big
Lovely place, lovely food, very nice staff. 💯
Lovely place better food. You have to try the Irish stew. Yesterday was my second time here (and won't be the last) and my friends love the place. The staff is lovely, it was my birthday and they sang to me. Love this place.
I was quite hungry and decided to have an Assorted Fish Platter for dinner at this traditional Irish restaurant. It was gigantic! I had only breakfast in the morning but this was huge! Had to ask for more sauce and a lemon to go with along with two Guinness. It was delicious: Deep Fried Cod, Smoked Salmon & Breaded Scampi with Fries & Tartare Sauce Assorted Fish Platter
We got a Groupon voucher for this restaurant and it turns out the restaurant is small, unassuming but has really good food, proper homely, top quality and great portions. We had the steak and it was well above average. Came with an oven baked potato, fried onion and a really good salad. Good selection of beer and the guys working were sound. Unbelievable prices for a restaurant in the heart of Dublin. We were really impressed.
The food was amazing, the price was a bit high compared to the pubs around it but it was worth it. The bartenders from America were the key of the bar. Really friendly and polite. I will be back
The brunette tattooed waitress how I can’t pronounce the name was amazing. The service was amazing, the food is really good. The check a bit hit but worthed. I really recommend :) Thank you S!
My husband and I stopped by, had Guiness stew, a pint of Guinness, coffee, lamb cutlets with baked potato. There was so much meat in the stew it could have fed two people. Used the gravy for the baked potato ;) It was perfect and fun. The service is great and the prices were better than other places nearby. And it was nice to have a place to sit and chat and enjoy a yummy meal. :)
Came here more than once as a tourist during our week stay. Atmosphere, staff was nice, decorated with irish history, really interesting stuff and staff was super approachable and friendly. Foods a banger, first time having irish and Guinness stew, if you like your Currys and Ragu's, you'll like it here. Cosy and quiet.
Fantastic experience. The steaks were perfect and the staff were so friendly, smiley, and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere! Feels like a true local pub, not touristy, and a place that really looks after its customers. Would definitely recommend! Thank you 😊
O’Sheas is a pleasant surprise in the city — a quiet, comfortable spot that keeps things simple but well done. It’s peaceful enough to have a proper conversation, and that calm vibe makes it stand out among more frenetic city centre restaurants. The food is good quality. I ordered steak, and it was honestly the best I’ve had in a long while — nicely cooked, full of flavour, with just the right balance. Portion sizes are generous but never over the top. Service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. If there’s a caveat, it’s the pricing. Things are a bit on the pricey side for what you get overall — you definitely pay a premium. But given how good the steak was, and how much care seems to go into the dishes, I would say it’s worth it — especially for a special meal. Overall, O’Sheas is a hidden gem: quiet, tasteful, reliable. If you want a place where food, service, and atmosphere line up nicely, this is one to try.
This place has great offers online and when you go in, it's just after Gogarty's hotel, down the lane. The food is solid for the price.
Had a lunch there. The tase of the food was very good. The visual experience not the best. The beer was good as well. Total €20.
I would a 100% recommand. 18 € for a sirloin. At first, I was a little bit afraid that it'd be a bit expensive but after getting it, no doubt : it is worth it. Me and my cousin both got the sirloin and thought that even if there was a bit too much fat, the price was still worth the quality and quantity. The sauce that accompanies the meal is to die for. The service was adequate and our server was polite and friendly.
This is a neat little restaurant. The coke and sprite were ice cold! Just dont get the fish or chicken. The breading on the fish was thick and a little chewy. It think the breading was cooked well but the fish itself was not as done as it should have been. The chips had too much salt on it. The chicken was a little dry and had too much salt as well. Desert was very good. Service was very good!
O’Sheas, the restaurant itself, was a bit out dated and underwhelming. The service was laissez faire. We had to let the server know when we were ready to order and request the check after obviously finishing our meal. The saving grace was the Irish Stew!!! Absolutely delicious!! The stew was seasoned to perfection, with two full potatoes, chunks of carrots and plenty of lamb. The steamy hot broth was scrumptious and perfect for warming up your insides! The burger was a bit dry, but other than that it was okay. This is a place you come for the food (which is reasonably priced) not the ambiance or service.
Decent grub, feels homely.. Guinness wasn't great though and the €10 cocktail was the draught kind which was served warm and foamy 🤢 steak not really worth the price considering the quality of the one I got up the road for the same price. Even though the bill came with a service charge, the waiter also asked for a tip!
A small old restaurant with good menu options. We had our lunch here and were content with the taste of food if not for the Fries and Smoked Salmon in the Fish Platter which was dry and didn't seem fresh. Among all the items we ordered Chicken Au Poivre was the highlight and we enjoyed it. Staffs were very courteous and quick with the service. There were film shield placed to avoid direct contact between tables. There is a difference in the menu rates mentioned online versus what's actually charged at the restaurant. The restaurant may need tablewares replaced and an internal uplift.
Poor experience. The veg stir fry was inedible (super sweet for some odd reason), the fish and chips were alright but you can get the same thing anywhere else in the city. And on top of that, 10% mandatory service fee for a bad service - the waiter just threw the utensils on the table, tried to pack as many people in the tiny restaurant to the point where there was no air or room to move around. Unpleasant experience, couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Really disappointing experience with the staff. My wife and I had a pre-paid reservation, we arrived 20 minutes late and the waiter said we gave away the table because you were late. We offered to wait outside until the next table is available. However he said no because the next person would arrive. We offered to sit outdoors but he said we won't serve the outdoors. Until this moment I thought it's unnecessary strict policy but when I waited outside I realized that people sit without reservation. And he didn't allow us because we were only two and the table available was for four without offering other alternatives. The food was good, but the day was ruined already.
