this place was so darling and cozy. I had a great time tasting some very good selected wine . It’s a great place to hang out and have a great conversation. Absolutely loved it
It’s such a cozy place to have some wine and appetizers!
If you want to drink good wine at a reasonable price, be comfortable, eat decent charcuterie and hang out with friends, look no further. Love the sommeliers here. Friendly and knowledgeable. Again, what a jewel in PA downtown.
Favorite place in Palo Alto for 3 years now!! Great service! Staff always focus on making you feel welcome. Great wine selection not only domestic but international👌. No matter if you consider an amateur or with hight taste, you will always find the wine for you. Every time some is visiting me either friends or family, I take them to the Wine Room where we have a great time. Highly recommend it!!
A quaint small spot, the atmosphere here calls for a short getaway from technology and forces you to wine down with friends or strangers. As a wine amateur, I didn't feel too out of place, and they gladly helped us choose two bottles that had us feeling salubrious.
I’ve been coming here every time i want to have a great time. You can drink any wine they have in their selection cause i’ve been always happy with anything i chose in their menu. I really like Eddie and Olga for how affectionate and sweet they are when i come with my friends. I always feel welcomed here. I bring all of my friends to show how great this place is.
Absolutely love this place! The whole team is amazing especially Eddie, he has great recommendations and great knowledge. If you want to have a great time with friends and enjoy some good wine, come here, ask for Eddie and you will find the perfect bottle!!

Perfect spot for girls night or date night. Bit expensive (~$22 a glass) but makes up for it in great service and vibes. Also located very conveniently in Downtown Palo Alto, which makes it easy to grab a bite before or after
The best experience w great wine! Eddie was the best and took good care of us. Learned so much about wine just by talking with him. Will be back for sure.

If I could give The Wine Room 10 stars I would! Eddie and the whole staff as some of the friendliest people and remember us every time we stop by! Could not recommend this spot more highly if you’re in downtown Palo Alto you have to stop by!
Always love visiting this cute not so little wine shop. It gives you an European type of vibes. Was seated right away, outdoors. They have a decent collection of wines. Maxenti, cabaret Sauvignon was lovely. My favourite one was Dominique Cornin Macon Chaintre. Although I feel that my second pour was different than the first one. Nevertheless I enjoyed my time here. Didn’t eat anything, just came for some wine. Love this place, will visit again.

This place can get very busy but I was lucky to come early enough on a weekday. Order a bottle of wine, nothing else makes sense. Be aware they automatically add a service charge. Brilliant, so you don’t have to calculate and add a tip on your own.

Was in the area so decided to swing by Wine Room. It was pretty crowded but we were able to grab a bench and side table in the back. Receipt labeled as "baby table" haha. Wines range from $17-$25 a glass. Staff can be a bit difficult to wave down during peak times. Front is more modern, whereas the back room is a bit more dated and cozy. Parking can be tough. I ended parking in the public garage a block away. Lots of parking available.

I’ve been coming here for years and watched how the prices increase and the service decreases. Good spot for adults to get some wine, but sometimes is too crowded and they let people in and gets really uncomfortable as they rush you to leave, even if you’re sharing the seat with other people. They have some regular customers that get really drunk and start annoying other patrons. They stop serving food because they’re too busy, would be nice to know until what time one can get some snacks there. For parking you can use the public one across the street. They change the menu often so you can try different wines.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I accidentally dropped my fork and asked for a new one, and the server interrogated me about why I dropped it — seriously? Then, while I was checking my wine glass (because it looked dirty), he told me not to break it because it’s worth $30. Excuse me? That level of disrespect is unbelievable. As if that wasn’t enough, I went back shortly after realizing I had forgotten my glasses at the table. The staff didn’t even pretend to look — just bluntly said “nothing’s here.” No effort, no care, no professionalism. This place might have a nice ambiance, but the service is downright disgraceful. Absolutely not worth your time or money. I wouldn’t come back here if they paid me.
Ok for tourists. Over-priced for the service. It’s my 8th time here and wanted to be sure before I rated them. No service or genuine welcome. Too busy to get off their phones and sports betting or whatever they do. Retired Upscale and Luxury hotels and Casino director.
The place looks nice. The atmosphere is inviting, but the attitude is so bad. The guys at the bar were so rude. They don’t understand wine, they pour wine as it is a beer. They don’t give you to try, they don’t explain or introduce. They don’t smile. They treat you as they give you a favor. We called manager, and to be honest, the manager was not polite either, holding his hands folded, telling us, that if not the Thanksgiving holiday, they would be so busy, that he wouldn’t even show up to talk to us. Such a bad place. Not professional at all.

I've been coming here for almost 10yrs and the customer service here gets worse every time. I met up with a friend here last night and I practically had to beg for water after trying to find parking and walking in the cold for 15mins. It's always a bad sign when you have to ask for water at a bar or restaurant but even after I asked the server made a point to deliver someone else's order and then start fixing the fire place next to where I was seated after asking for water. So l asked for water again thinking maybe he accidentally forgot but he said no I heard you but you need to wait. At that point I was ready to go somewhere else but the vibes were good and we were now on our 2nd rounds of wine. The service here is really bad and it's all because of the staff, maybe they think because they have been here so long they can treat people rudely but I would recommend the owner train them on proper customer service or hire new people eager to work. We paid $125 for 4 drinks and was willing to stay and buy more but with the poor service we left and went to another bar on Cal Ave in Palo Alto.
The wine bar has a nice ambiance and a good selection, which I really enjoyed. However, the service was very disappointing. We were told there was a reservation, even though the place doesn’t take reservations, and were rushed to leave by a specific time. On top of that, we were asked to “behave appropriately” for the wine bar, which felt unnecessary and made the experience uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate, because the atmosphere is lovely, but the way we were treated really took away from the experience.
Waited half an hour for the waiter to come to us, went inside to ask to order but they said the waiter would come to us. He came and we ordered two glasses of wine. Waited 20 more minutes only for the waiter to come back without the glasses and ask if we've ordered yet. At this point we've been there 50 minutes and hadn't even gotten our order in so we just left. Not worth your time.
Bartenders decided to add $10 onto my receipt. Went in asking for the money back and was told to email, Eddie, "the manager," who has not responded to email or calls. Been coming here for a while and I want to like this place, but it's also incredibly over-priced wine that often ends up tasting like cheap table red.

I had a really disappointing experience here. The staff were unnecessarily rude and it completely ruined the vibe of the night. I had been wearing flip flops and briefly took them off while sitting down. A staff member came over to take order, in a very rude tone, told me to put them back on. We were only there for less than an hour when another staff member told us we had to leave in half an hour because the table was “reserved” for 8:15 pm. This place is supposed to be first come, first serve, but we still agreed to move. While I was still drinking my wine, the server started clearing my friends’ glasses without even asking if we wanted to order anything. The entire interaction felt rushed, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. Definitely not the kind of hospitality you expect when you’re out to relax and enjoy a glass of wine.
Very rude. Shocked by the rudeness and dismissiveness in Palo Alto. Disgusting. Went across the street to Nola. Much more welcoming. No view on food or drinks. Walked in, treated poorly and left. Shocking. Doesn’t deserve a penny.
