I loved the pig ears with chili oil and their tendon and beef with knife cut noddles was great. Must eat here if in the area
If you want the full Chinese experience this is the place. We loved the spring vegetable (Bak Choi) plate and the fried pork dumplings (potstickers). The orange chicken was also delicious & more tomato red than sticky sweet. Soups also delicious. Do it!
My favorite mom and pop restaurant. I come here for their noodles and dumplings. My personal favorite is their mushu cat eats. Don't worry, they are not really made of cat ears...
Very good hand shaved noodles. I like ordering their spicy wontons and liang fen as well.
Tried out the dan dan mian with knife shaved noodles. Wow, the noodles were amazing. Such great texture, chewy, soaked up all the flavor! They definitely prepare their dan dan noodles with an ample amount of Sichuan pepper. Lots of that mouth numbing spice I love. Their portion is gigantic, left so full from finishing the bowl. In a perfect world they would use a little but of peanut sauce to contrast the heat and give it a little more depth. Update: I asked for a side of the sesame paste/sauce they use on their other dishes. The addition of the sesame paste elevates their dan dan on par with lucky noodle king! So I now have a tie for #1 dan dan noodles in sgv.
Being a Chinese I can't explain how happy I was when I found this place. I have to admit their noodles are even better than some in China. Local Chinese food. Local Chinese style, lots of people sharing several plates of food, this is really a place for Chinese tourists to call home.
Awesome pot stickers, nice flavor and not greasy at all. Boiled dumplings were pretty good.
Great stir fried knife cut noodles and other northern China specialties. Absolutely al dente.
Best lamb noodles, beef roll, pan fried buns. Been going 15 yrs.
Great place for dumplings and noodles. Service is fast and the staff is always very friendly.
My family has been coming here for years and it’s one of our favorites! Family owned business that’s consistently great. We love the hand shaved noodles, pan fried dumplings, spicy wontons and beef roll but really can’t go wrong here. They also have frozen dumplings and wontons to take home!!!!
You can ask them to cook the veggies less than usual and they happily cater to your requests… less or more spicy, etc…super friendly service and delicious food at a very fair price👌👍❣️
Best dumplings I found in east side LA. Pan fried beef dumplings is a must try. I have also bought their frozen dumplings a couple times, very delicious! A low key restaurant, but truly a hidden gem.
I love this place; the owner is that beautiful sweet lady that one day she stand for us cause her rude daughter doesn't want to give us service to eat there, she want us to order to go supposedly cause they were ready to close in a "little bit", then the owner came and take the menus away from her hand and invites us to take a sit, I love her, she's the nicest person I ever met(isn't her fault that the daughter it's a bitter person) and her food it's DELICIOUS!!🤗❤️
they are best known for their noodles. especially their knife-shaved noodles, which very few restaurants actually do AND it's one of my favorite things on this earth. their hand-pulled noodles, cat ear noodles are also great; and they hand-make all the dumplings in house as well. special tip - ask them which dumplings they made fresh that day and order those! even though they're all made in house, they make lots of a single kind and freeze them to be used later, so if you're eating there, the ones not yet frozen are super fresh and tasty. however, you can also buy the frozen ones in packs of 20 to take home and steam/boil/fry them yourself.
Great experience. We did the top recommendations: bun, lamb fried noodles, noodle soup. Wet liked it all a lot. Also get some marinated cucumbers and seaweed. They're all pretty nice and helpful and smiley too. I don't see the issue there.
Oh my gosh, the noodles, dumplings, and pan friend buns here are absolutely delicious! The service is super friendly and attentive, and even though the place isn’t in a super touristy area, the food quality and value are totally worth the stop.
Wow great hole in the wall. Kids were hungry and couldn't think of a place to go. Found this place searching for dumplings and gave it a go. Everyone was good: mushu hand cut noodles, 3 ingredients pan fried dumplings, fish boiled dumplings, beef cold dish, and Dan dan noodles. My favorite was the 3 ingredient dumplings and dan dan noodles. The mushu noodles is what the waitress recommended and didn't disappoint either. I definitely will come back. Also to vindicate this location, there's a newspaper clipping written by Mr Jonathan Gold about this place as well. They also sell frozen dumplings too!
This is definitely my definition of a "Mom N'Pop" little S-hole in the wall kinda joint! I've been coming here for years since one of my good high-school friends introduced me to this hidden gem. This family owned business has weathered through the economic storms of the past and present. I am grateful that they are still in business and still serving good nothern Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine at a fair price. My two must haves here on the menu is the beef fried dumplings and their house made hand made beef noodle soup with chunks of beed stew and tendon. The flavors are authentic and very tasty. I have tried several other dishes on their menu and they have never disappointed. I will always come back and support this business for as long as they remain open. P.S. Their customer service may not be superb but that's typical of Asian places like these. I come for the good food not the quality of the people serving it.
December 2021 - Party of 4, no wait. This is a family run establishment and the food is always good! Food/Pricing - For the quantity and tasty-ness, the price for the food is a steal!!! My family and I always come here and walk out with plenty of leftovers!! Service/Ambiance - Service is good. The place is small, maybe about 5 tables so it's easy to flag someone down! Highly recommend dining in or ordering takeout from here!!!
Delicious Shanxi cuisine with handmade noodles, bao, dumplings and more! Restaurant is small but cozy and service is great.
Pan fried buns are a must get but also their Xiao long baos are not bad either. Not as soupy as some other places but they are filled with meat

Been eating here for over a decade and it's still delicious. Northern China home cooking style from noodles to dumplings to stir fry's, they're mostly known for their handmade noodles and dumplings so if it's your first visit, definitely try the noodles. Big portions too and quick no frills service.
Best noodle place in this area. I always order their lamb soup noodle.
The beef fried noodles are fantastic, with a huge portion that lasted me three meals! Loaded with tender beef and fresh vegetables, the dish is flavorful and satisfying.
LOVEDDDD the red chili oil wontons! LOVED. I always try this dish where restaurants serve it in hopes of finding the ONE style I like - here it’s very close to the Din Tai Fung style with less sugar and a better price. They also use a good handmade wonton with delicious filling. A lot of places mess up on their use of wontons and sauce. LOVED the lamb noodle soup!! I generally love lamb across the board, and they do it really well here - clear broth style, hand made noodles, no gamey taste/smell (so my mom says as she can be more sensitive to it). Greaaat price.
Reading these 1 star reviews really makes me upset. I have been a regular JTYH patron since 2013 and just got takeout from here today (Feb-26). They are a rare restaurant that hasn’t heavily increased prices AND maintained generous portions, even after COVID. My top recs are the pan fried pork buns, the best I have ever had. The dough is perfectly cooked and the meat inside is delicious and huge, generous portion. I also love their beef rolls, (also my favorite I’ve ever found), because they have a good helping of veggies and sauce (and beef of course) so it’s not dry like so many other places. Then I also get their sliced pork ears as an appetizer. I do like their fried noodle dishes and noodle soups (though I wouldn’t claim these are the best in SGV). They are still worth a try and a solid option to round out your meal. For the past four years, the restaurant has been pretty quiet whenever I get takeout, usually dinner time. Parking is very easy (bc it is in a lot with other tenants that are closed by then). I have zero issues w their (not particularly warm) service. They make good food and pack it well and have it all ready to go when I need it!
We love coming here when we visit! Dan Dan mein, knife cut noodles, cats' ears are among our favorites. The kids enjoyed everything too.

Little dumpling restaurant. Had soup noodle, dumpling. 3 tems for around with tax + tips.
For me, when it comes to noodles, the thicker the better, so I love me some wide and chewy knife-shaved noodles (dao shao mien), which JTYH serves very generous portions of, though it benefits from being the only legit knife-shaved noodles place around LA. The GOOD: -The Beef Noodle Soup, which is served with several chunks of beef, minus the usual greasy soup you would find at other Chinese restaurants. -The Pan Fried Buns are the size of tennis balls! -Loved the Beef Rolls stuffed with cucumbers to give it a refreshing taste. -The Beef Fried Noodles (chow mien) with satay sauce was surprisingly delish. -The Dan Dan Noodles can be made with knife-shaved noodles, but don't expect it to be really spicy. Even more delicious as leftovers, since the noodles soak up all the saucy goodness. The BAD: -Zha Jiang Mien was just not my style. The UGLY: -The water is flavored with bleach. Or chlorine. Whatever it is, it's something that you should not be ingesting large amounts of. Drink the hot tea! The service was also super slow on a weekday night. I understand that knife-shaved noodles require more preparation than machine-made generics, but I waited nearly an hour for my order. My friends were almost done with their food by the time mine arrived!
Had the beef noodle soup. Noodles and beef are great, but the soup was a little light for my taste. Stay tuned for more pics when I head back to try their other dishes!
Small unpretentious place that serves great noodle dishes. They also sell handmade dumplings for home.
Food is great. Atmosphere is average. Have walked in on a hot day and building is really hot. Besides that, the food is great.
Hand-made sliced noodles. Noodles were a bit hard. Others were good. I will come back.
You don't come here for the decor, you come here cuz you love delicious dumplings like your grandma used to make them. These dumplings are very meaty and juicy...good thick skin makes you appreciate both boiled and the pan-fried. Ummm probably get both just to make sure. Also really good cold appetizer dishes are a must.
Love the decor in this place. Very different from a lot of places I’ve been to. Ordered a million things but my favorite here were the stewed beef noodle soup and the sesame noodles 🤤 the sides and rice were good. oh the dumplings were yummmmmsss too! I just couldn’t do all the Szechuan stuff. My mouth always go numb and I can’t taste anything lol JTYH Restaurant 9425 Valley Blvd, Rosemead, CA 91770 @jimbowhen

Ordered beef roll. The sauce is very salty. Plus, if your order is under $25, you’ll have to pay cash.
This place was busy. The food was very good and the service was good. The price is average. I think this place is overlooked by people because there are a lot of noodle places in this area. The noodles here are freshly made and the wonton that I had was full of flavor that you want in a dumpling. I think what could have been better was the beef in the noodle could have been cooked a little longer to make it more tender. But the noodles and dumpling were spot on. I hope they can improve on the beef because that would be important to my family and me to enjoy our noodle dishes.
This place had a few strong points, and a weak point. Overall good enough to go back, but there are things I would stay away from. The hand shaved noodles with preserved cabbage and pork was good. Noodle had great texture, but the overall flavor was on the light side. Would order again with a big scoop of chili oil. The side dishes, such as seaweed and cucumbers, were very tasty. The steamed meat bun were a bit of a disappointment. The dough was a bit underdone and mushy, and the filling was not very flavorful. I would stay away from that.
Beef noodle soup - tender beef, noodles meh, soup meh. Lamb noodle soup is a bit better. Everything tasted fine, certainly passable. Prices are very reasonable. Service was also very slow.

Confused cause it was a totally forgettable meal Also overpriced for what it is Lamb soup - boring, just tasted like salty broth with no depth or flavor 3 fried dumpling - not memorable in anyway, not even crispy Beef roll - came cold & lacked flavor Cucumber salad - good/standard Pig ear - good but oily
Bad food bad service waiter no English at all period
I will NEVER go back here. Rude service (as expected in 626), but also demeaning. I came in and wanted to order to-go. I asked about the check-in deal. She said it's only valid eating in. They rushed us to sit down, and came immediately with the menu and stood there staring at us for an order. I told her I wasn't ready, and she came back 2 minutes later. UM does it look like I can read a whole Chinese menu is 2 minutes?! I asked her about the check-in deal and if I could get the Pig ear side dish. She YELLED back. NO, we choose. And I'm like okay, why didn't you tell me this earlier? I order the black bean noodle (jjangmien), pork and leek dumplings, and the side of celery. The jjangmien was the worst tasting dish I've ever had. I couldn't even finish it. The dish was partly luke warm; partly cold. The sauce was all oil and salt and no earthy flavor. The noodles were slimy. I went to 99 ranch after to get one of these that they sell in a box in the refrigerated section and it was 10000000x better than this restaurant one. The dumplings were gross as well. I make better by heating up the frozen ones I get from the super markets. Sad to say that the best thing I got was the free side of celery. It wasn't even good, but better than the rest. I brought the leftover noodles home to my dad who eats anything, and he couldn't take a second bite. We just threw it away. It was THAT gross!!
BEWARE!!! RUDE, SLOW & BIAS service. Everybody has their opinions and beliefs about tips, especially worldwide. Insulting, cursing and kicking out a customer on their way out for undertipping is not a proper way to run a business. Shady! The fat lady and her skinny husband should be more respectful and kind to people. Anyways, the food is average.
I ordered food here first time and it was cold and the meat look and tasted old and dry. No good.Noodles are too thick.
I recently discovered this place with my friend. The food was pretty good the first time I was there, but the service was so-so, which was kind of expected in this area. Because the food tasted pretty good, I decided to take my grandma and aunt here for lunch. We ordered simmered noodle soup, mung bean jelly, and pan-fried buns. There was a long wait between each of the dishes, so we ended up eating each dish one by one, which is not typical for Chinese food. We were almost done with the mung bean jelly before the simmered noodle soup was served, and the pan-fried buns were still not there when we almost finished the simmered noodle. When we finally saw the buns, the waiter/owner served them to a table that came later than us but ordered the same dish. We thought maybe he forgot, so we went to ask him. He was very unapologetic and rude about it. He said, "What do you want me to do about it?" That just ruined our day, which was supposed to be a fun outing with my 90-year-old grandma. No matter how good the food tastes, it's not worth it. I understand that people make mistakes in placing orders sometimes, so I'm not mad about that. It's his attitude, which was just terrible. I don't see them staying in business for long if they don't change how they treat customers. This could have been a four or five-star review, but now it's a one. No food is good enough to ruin your mood for.
Honestly, it's really bad taste. 大卤面Dalu noodle is far away from authentic,小笼包steamed buns is with stale meat....and no soup inside... I'm here because of eating and an online recommendation blog. But don't come if you want great good and authentic flavor...
Noodles were bland with barely any meat . Service was meh and I got told that I HAVE TO tip at the end

Service was so-so, as expected in this area. We tried to find a parking place to wait for them to open so we could dine, but a man camping the area we were parking into hit and banged on our car and refused to let us park in-front of the restaurant, then proceeded to take photos of our car, even though it’s a public parking lot Was gonna stop by to eat, but apparently they dont want customers…😅
