Restaurant Review – El Quijote El Quijote is a wonderful place to enjoy carefully prepared, high-quality food that respects the traditional essence of Huelva while adding a modern and creative touch. The cuisine is clearly elaborate and refined, but it never loses its local identity, which makes the experience both authentic and innovative. One of the best things about the menu is its variety and fusion of influences. You can enjoy traditional Andalusian dishes, but also taste flavours from other cultures, such as Asian-inspired dishes like wok, which adds an international and contemporary feeling to the restaurant. This combination makes the menu rich, appealing, and mouth-watering. A dish I strongly recommend is the chocos with cheese fondue sauce. This is a perfect example of traditional food fused with innovation. The chocos were tender and succulent, and the sauce was creamy, rich, and delicious, creating a contrast of textures that was simply outstanding. The risotto was also spectacular: smooth, creamy, and full of flavour, and the addition of presa and jamón was both original and clever, introducing typical local ingredients in a modern way. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant, warm, and inviting. The decoration is simple and basic, but comfortable and functional. The waiters are very attentive, friendly, and professional, although the waiting time is normal, not especially fast or slow. However, because the restaurant is not very big, it can become quite noisy, especially when it is full, which slightly affects the comfort. In terms of price, El Quijote is quite affordable, with very good value for money considering the quality, presentation, and creativity of the dishes. In conclusion, it is a highly recommended restaurant where you can enjoy tasty, delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented food, combining tradition, innovation, and international flavours in a truly appetizing and memorable dining experience.
We were at the restaurant and everything was delicious and of very good quality.
My stay at the Hotel-Restaurant El Quijote was brief, as I was traveling to Madrid and then on to Plasencia, but it was enough for a very good rest. The room was comfortable, the atmosphere peaceful, and the service attentive. I would have liked to have had more time to enjoy it at a leisurely pace, but overall, everything was very good. A nice stop along the way.
We've been coming here for four years now, every year between October and November/December. We always have delicious tapas to go with our beers. Always excellent service, friendly staff, and a great chef. The food is delicious, especially the paella and fried scampi. We're going back again at the end of January 2026 for another meal and drinks.
Spacious and clean, with a varied and excellent menu. The staff is very fast, attentive, and helpful.
Very nice people and very helpful. The service was a 10, the food was very well prepared, and the rooms were very comfortable.
The truth is, we weren't disappointed. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the furniture could have been better, but for the price, it's not bad. The breakfast was very good, and the waiters were very attentive. We'll be back....
We stayed one night to spend the weekend. For the price it was quite good. It is 5 minutes from the main square.
We spent the weekend there and everything was great: clean room, comfortable beds, and beautiful views. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant, and everything was delicious. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The staff was very friendly.
For work I usually eat at the restaurant when I'm in the area and I can't say enough about the food being very good, the quality excellent, but the best thing without a doubt is the treatment and kindness of each of the people who work both in the restaurant and in the hotel... which I can tell from colleagues that just like the restaurant... everything is phenomenal, clean and comfortable.
We had a fantastic meal! They have an impressive variety of local dishes. We ordered two salads, which were very good, with top-quality ingredients. For a mid-afternoon meal, we ordered "Duelos y Quebrantos," a typical La Mancha dish featured in Cervantes' Don Quixote. It was very well prepared, very tasty, and we were full after just that. At first, it seemed expensive, but it wasn't at all. The dishes are more than generous and worth it for the quality of the food. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in until we left, and was very fast and professional. I recommend it 100%.
A welcoming place, both the terrace (summer and winter), the bar area, and the interior. Very competitive and affordable prices, perfect for everyday budgets. A wide variety of dishes and generous portions. A varied and inexpensive daily menu. The menu is varied, with both traditional dishes and other options (Manchego cuisine, meats, fish, desserts, etc.). The drinks are also good. In general, you won't leave hungry; on the contrary, you'll be full. Excellent service, both from Mr. Vicente, the owner, and all the waiters. Impeccably clean. I've been visiting for many years and keep coming back. Highly recommended for individuals or large groups. 10 out of 10!
The owner is very attentive, and the food is delicious. We try the mushrooms, his style, and, Oh my!!! I've never tasted something as delicious as it was. It is not on the menu, you have to ask, because hi picked them fresh every day from the field.
We didn't stay; we only used the restaurant. We went on a Thursday and opted for the set menu (€14). The place was quite busy, perhaps because of this, the waiter who served us was a bit distant, although the barman and the younger man were friendlier. The food was tasty and the portions were generous, offering decent value.
We were three people and we stopped for lunch. The menu cost €18. We ordered artichokes with ham for starters (a very generous dish) and the house scrambled eggs (not so generous). For the main course, we ventured into grilled chicken, which was good, and some breaded squid or baby squid, which were delicious and a good amount. I'd rate the service 3 stars because when we arrived, the restaurant was practically empty, but the waiter rushed us a bit with the order. We even asked about the ingredients in some dishes, and he replied with things like "whatever it's called for, it's always been there," which I don't think is a very accurate response considering that many people who aren't familiar with the typical dishes might be there. The bathroom was quite clean, and the facilities were in good condition. Overall, the food was good, but I think the price is a bit high considering the service, the attention, and the amount of food.
Little bar with hotel rooms. Where the locals hang. Rooms OK.
Hemos ido a comer 8 personas.
Since we didn't have a reservation, they offered us the bar area, so we opted to eat outside. (There was plenty of room inside.) As for the ribeye steak... not only was it tough, but the meat was already cold. They tried to fix it, but frankly, it was inedible. A mediocre experience, a clear case of trying too hard and failing miserably. I personally don't recommend it.
We called the hotel to make a reservation, and we had to call three times to get it done because the person in charge wasn't there. When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist told us the room cost €56, even though the person who had taken our reservation on the phone had told us it was €50. We decided to pay it anyway, even though we mentioned it to the receptionist at the time. They said they would look into it and get back to us. They never did. They never gave us any further explanation, and when they saw us around the hotel, they hid and didn't even greet us. In addition to this, the heating didn't work properly. We were cold. The shower head was broken, and everything was very dirty and old, with no maintenance whatsoever. We will not return to this place, nor do we recommend it.
We went for lunch on Mother's Day with a reservation and were seated in the bar area, so we couldn't order from the set menu. Furthermore, of the few items on the menu, we were told we could only order individual portions, which made everything much more limited.
