The McDonald's in Elgin has historically been the best one in the North-East of Scotland. This visit was very good - I've recently begun to use the app and we booked ahead for four people. You need to tell the app that you have arrived to get your food prepared. We were entering Elgin, could literally see the sign, so told it I was there - to get a message saying "it appears you are not quite there yet." These things are sometimes too clever..... We arrived, ordered, picked up our food and ate inside. The place was clean, staff were attentive and friendly and the food was very good. We had a range from chicken legends and nuggets, salad, chips, hot and cold drinks and our order was filled correctly, so all good. We ate early, on our way to an appointment, but by the time we left it was queued out of the door with young people, possibly students, so it might be a victim of its own success. If you're in a hurry it might be worth avoiding peak times, or use the app and order ahead to avoid the queue on the service points inside. They are clearly still paying attention to getting the small things right, and still one of the best McDonald's around.

Food was ok, found a piece of greaseproof paper in between my burger. Manager didn't seem that bothered. Just apologised and gave me another. By this time everyone had finished their meals and I sat eating myself.

For a McDonald's, this one is unusually good food wise, though we haven't yet been able to try out the inside due to restrictions. The food seems to always be reasonably hot and fresh, probably due to the high turnover of customers, and the coffee hot and cold drinks, cold. My wife and I like to share 20 nuggets and until recently, there was always 20 and sometimes 21 in the box. Then in the space of a few weeks we had a box of 18 and of 19. No complaints really though seeing as we had a few extra before, just a bit worrying if it becomes standard practice. Add that to a change in the strength of the coffee and we wondered if an important manager was on holiday.

Treated to breakfast muffin as husband needed pick up from garage. First time visit for me. Sat in and had table service. Nice fresh cooked sausage and egg roll with hash brown and tea. Nice and hot on all products. Very clean at 8am. Tables spotless with no sticky residues. Would like smaller cup of tea as there is no way I can drink 400ml in one sitting. Would go again but not on regular basis nice as treat only.

You go in. You get the food you recognise and it's the usual. Reasonable prices. Reasonable wait. Reasonable.

Always McDonald's food which is what you want when you go. It's a very busy place so make sure you get there early. Very helpful staff as they will help put away rubbish and they always clean. I go there regularly

Having an eight year old granddaughter who like us to take her out to lots of different places we have found ourselves stopping at these places more than we would normally like, and dare I say it, we have become a little expert at comparing one to the next? The McDonald's in Elgin actually compares reasonably favourably to most we have stopped at. The food always seems to be fresh, hot, and have some taste to it, and up to now the staff have always been friendly and pleasant. The only problem here is there is nearly always a queue and sometimes it is right out of the car park and down the street! But then again, this does tell you that the food is worth that little bit of a wait; if it wasn't many would just go elsewhere.

Parked easily {4pm} ordered straight away using self-service till. Order took around 8mins from order to service which was OK. The meal itself was OK, but could have been hotter, was with my son so didn't want to make a fuss.

I was going to give this 3 stars, but the food in McDonald’s is wonderful! Everything tastes so good and everything. There is one problem though and it’s the way they pack the food. One time I ordered from McDonald’s only to find my chips scattered all over the rest of my food. I can understand you need to have the food ready in a split second, but please pack the food more neatly instead of throwing everything in the bag. Other than that, McDonald’s is a great place 👍

Always friendly, regardless of whether you order via the automated kiosks or at the counter. Usually fairly quick service, but can be slow or inaccurate when busier. Also very clean, thanks to the excellent staff.

Food was good. Nice and hot. Chips had right amount of seasoning, (they can be too salty). Staff were friendly, and helpful. Offered to take our tray of rubbish, as our 3 year old was desperate for the toilet. Price was good. Portion size decent.

Food is good but sometimes depending on the time of day the food will be on the colder side when served. As its a small venue it's often very busy in the drive through, car park, and indoors. Had instances where items have been missed off drive through orders and only found out when home. Friendly staff.

First time having the breakfast Mcmuffin and was pretty decent possibly the best thing I have had from the local McDonald's in a while. Also had a nice cuppa T. Staff friendly enough which is always good although with everything being touch screen these days you lose a bit of human interaction between staff and customer. Not the staff's fault they just follow the rules and decisions made further up the chain of command.

Standard McDonald's experience except the food was COLD No means of complaining or redress. Had cold food from here before and didn't return but gave it another chance because it has changed hands.

Was super excited to try the spicy chicken nuggets today so obviously went to mcds in Elgin today. The spicy nuggets are good but disappointed by the staff who did not put in the spicy dip to go along with this which I am sure would of heighten the taste of the spicy nuggets. McDonald's will always be dependable to certain degree, my only issue is they are now not a reasonably priced restaurant/takeaway. They are so expensive now that soon nobody will be able to go there.

I would not say that it was a dislike for the actual place. More the franchise itself. They do mediocre food at the best of times. The place itself is clean and well looked after also filled with staff that I have never really interacted with. More a in and out kind of deal. Nothing more to say. So if you want a alright food without hassle. This is the place for you.

We went through the drive through, the food was fine but the staff were impatient, didn't listen, had to repeat order multiple times. When we paid the next window along already had the drinks hanging out the window. She didn't say a word to us just thrust the food at us. It was also quiet so there was absolutely no need for that.

It's McDonalds fun for families cheap and fast the food here is as good as any other McDonalds. It has a drive through. It isn't 24h. They often mix-up your order or miss items completely if you visit the drive through later on.

Mix up the happy meal toys. Supposed to be a surprise but it's not when everyone gets the same

Food has not been the best the past few times I have had it also most times it is barely luke warm. THE portion sizes of the mcflurries are less and less each time also. Barely get half the tub which is disappointing compared to what you used to get and not really wanting to approach staff as many have had sour faces.

Doesn’t matter when you go here or whether you use the drive through or sit in. There are always issues with the order. Poor quality. Half filled drinks, small to medium fries in a large holder, usually stone cold and limp. If it’s a large order usually an item missing or incorrect. Time to switch to another fast food option.

Could do with being cleaned properly and not wipe every surface with one cloth! Food is the same throughout the country. Service is slow so, if you go for a drive through you'll have to park up in the one of two drive through parking spaces.

Often given the wrong order and the hot chocolate has even been served without the chocolate with it. Rude and condisending higher managerial staff. The drive through service is terrible, your either rushed into giving you order or left waiting while the staff appear to be chatting amongst themselves. Overall not a very pleasant experience.

Ask for no tomato and there are two big juicy ones inside the box that says no tomato... the food is also stone cold and the bacon is not chewable. Really bad today.

Items missing from order on multiple occasions. Seems to many people involved and system needs to be reviewed to ensure 100% of order is present before handing to customer. If there was any other McDonald’s local would use it to avoid the constant annoyance from having wrong or part complete orders.

McDonalds Typical McD food, cheap and cheerful. However, very hit and miss, very really, food is hot and tasty, whilst most of the time it’s barely warm or cold and soggy AF. Went for a large coffe with an extra shot .. what seems relatively simple but yet I get to the pick up window to be handed a regular ( no big deal mistakes get made ) told them I’d ordered and paid for a large and the lass at window turned around and handed my cup back to another girl and said this was meant to be large …. Horrible meal - not been impressed the last few times but thought “its 1130, so the lunch time meals should be fresh”……….I was wrong!!! Ordered a Big Mac Meal and a cheese burger on the side. Don't go when busy as obviously can't handle it. Went to collect and serve. Went home to eat no fries. Went back. Couldn't get into car park so had to park down the street. Worst Mcdonald’s I’ve ever been to. I travel all over the UK racing and I have to say anytime we stop at this Mcdonald’s it’s always the worst, The food is terrible (Orders never correct either), Never get sauces, Staff are spot on to be fair other than messing up orders they aren’t rude I suppose!

This is literally the worst McDonalds location I’ve been to. Parking is a nightmare which I guess was expected being downtown. I ordered on the app and it turns out the location was already closed but they had some after hours pickup window. The staff inside was busy chatting while the line grew outside. Then they kept bringing out only the courier orders. I asked them about mobile orders and they are just we don’t know how long they’ll take. Very unfriendly & don’t care attitude. Then I could see they prepared my order in the back but nobody bothered to bring it out. They just kept bringing the courier stuff. Finally I rang the bell and told them that my order has been sitting there for ages yet nobody is bothering to bring out the mobile orders. Then finally they started bringing them out. Honestly don’t recommend this location at all.

Went in to order The Grinch Adult Happy meal. Got all the components of the meal shoved in a paper bag…not in the festive “box” advertised at all, isn’t that the point of selling this meal? Mcdonalds have already added the price of the box to the meal, yet you pay full and don’t get what u paid for. Moreover, there was no socks (the socks were different colour??) in the ‘paperbag’ as advertised as part of the meal…that’s the whole point of buying this meal?! Had to ask for it and the staff looked like they were in another universe. Ordered BBQ sauce and ketchup. But got the curry sauce put in the bag instead. Drive through service dire. Ordered and was told to park in the waiting slot because the milkshakes would take a little while....fair enough. Fast forward about 15 minutes and nothing. Went in and asked the lady about my milkshakes, and that took another 10 minutes of messing about to finally get them. Had nice lukewarm food to look forward to with my drinks. Jokerville, and I will not be going there again. Stick to Nairn.....much better.

It was busy with teenagers, no tables were cleaned and we use to request someone to come clean our table just to sit and eat. The server brought our tray and just placed it on the table...almost thrown and said "here you go" Very unpleasant experience. Food was alright since its McDonalds. You get what you expect.
