This was a different experience. First time going due to hearing good feedback from others. Iced Caramel Macchiato caught my eye off the bat. Had high hopes for it but the after taste was just weird. Thought it was just my taste buds but as I kept drinking, the taste did not go away. The flapjacks were hard. Definitely not like IHOP. Tried to order just regular Beignets since it was on the online menu but the waitress said they only serve the Mardi Gras Beignets. They were alright. Best tasting item were the waffles. The waffles were had a nice crispy but yet still soft inside. Chicken was burnt unfortunately. Limited kids menu FYI

The atmosphere of this restaurant is great, and the staff were really nice. I ordered the special Chicken and waffles, but I couldn't eat it. The waffle itself was delicious, and the flavors of the sauce, gravy, and syrup together were great. It was just ruined by the chicken being overcooked and extremely dry. I was really excited about trying something new for breakfast, but after a few bites my stomach started bothering me. I'd like to go back again and give something else on the menu a try, but I was very disappointed in my first meal. I still paid for it, but I kind of regret not saying anything to the server about how bad the chicken was. I was looking forward to some good, juicy chicken. Maybe next time

The 3 stars are a 3/3 for the excellent customer service! Every person was incredibly nice. We waited an hour for a table. The breakfast foods I had were pretty but not tasty. The beignets were tastless and the fruits served with them were canned gelatinous, rubbery, over sweet and yucky. The stuffed french toast on the menu was supposed to be a cream filled dream. The stuffed french toast that came to the table had a small smear of something in between and the nasty canned fruit gelatinous blob on top. My daughter had a burger, she said it was yummy. My friend had eggs Benedict and liked it a lot. Not planning another trip. The folks were SO nice but food was not worth it or the price.

plates broke in the kitchen and our food was covered in a sugar puree of strawberries when we thought it would be a little bit. Everything here is drowned in syrup ruining the flavor. The chef has toilet paper stuck to his shoe 🫩

I honestly love Huckleberry’s so I was glad to see there was one near my house. Unfortunately this location doesn’t do the franchise name any good. Staff tried to provide good service, but they were understaffed for how busy it was. Not the servers fault. However, the food was sub par. Thin bacon that looked like it was microwaved. Menu says thick cut smoked bacon. This looked like Armour. Same with the sausage. Dead on the plate. Toast was hard as a rock. I ate maybe 20% of my plate. To which the server didn’t inquire at all. Gap in service in my opinion. I didn’t complain, and tipped the server well. Again not their fault. But the overall experience was sub par. The Natomas location is a stark contrast to the Elk Grove location. I’ll drive the extra 20 minutes in the future.

Disappointed, not going to lie. California Benedict looked like it was made night prior. Just looked like it was someone’s left over put together. Our Begets were cold and hard. Fries were soft and soggy. Overall just disappointed. Was looking forward to the meal and coming back. No wonder it was slow when I walked in.

Louisiana Catfish (Bayou Style) – Perfectly fried catfish with Southern-style seasoning. Crispy outside, tender and flaky inside. Crab Cake Benedict – Poached eggs over golden crab cakes, creamy hollandaise, and crispy hash browns on the side. The crab cakes had a stronger seafood flavor than I prefer. Not quite my type of dish

I really wanted to like this place, it's close and the reviews were good. Even the photos of food looked pretty good. When I stepped in, I realized this was a chain restaurant. They were advertising franchises out front, so I became worried but we still decided to eat. Service was good, this was the shining spot. However, the food was not good at all. It came out very quickly (under 5 minutes?), everything was dry and it seemed as if it was old, or prepared a long time ago and reheated. They tried to disguise it by covering it with massive amounts of a stringy weird cheese.

I always say that even if the food wasn’t the best at least I got to spend time with my son and get some quality time in… even if the food was not good and barely hot. There wasn’t many people in there and I still waited 10 minutes for a to go box for my dog that the server didn’t get .. and once I already got up after waiting around she came out without asking if I still wanted it .. make it make sense lol. My son ate the bacon and some eggs.. the potatoes looked weird and had a odd coating on it

We had a terrible experience this morning. We had to ask for service after 10 minutes of waiting. The table next to us was sat after us and greeted, drink order taken, drinks delivered and order taken before we were greeted by our server. When I did ask for service the waitress responded with what can I get for you? That’s all. I ordered the Fried green tomato Benedict, which came out cold mushy and no fried green tomato. When I asked the waitress where the fried green tomato was, she told me that they had run out. Would have been nice to have known before I ordered or when the food was delivered. I ate my son’s French toast which he didn’t t like even smothered with butter and syrup. I have never gone out to eat and not tipped, but if my server ever returned to give me my change, I would not have tipped her today. Needless to say we will not be back again

I recently moved to Elk Grove a few months & I tried this location for my lunch break twice. Both times there has been a horrible sewage odor in the restaurant. The service both times was horrible as well. I had to constantly ask for everything whether it was my coffee refill, utensils or the bill. Plus, my food order came out wrong both times. I had the displeasure to be served by Angel who is by far the worst waiter I have ever had. I tried talking to someone named Joanna about him but she was just as bad. She was rude & unpleasant. People like Angel & Joanna are what drive a business to close with their horrible customer service. Also the sewage smell could be due to the employees there not cleaning. Avoid this place with a ten feet pole.

Dennys and iHop is better. Beignets were too bready and weird texture inside. My French toast was very plain. My carmel macchiato was very watery. Won't be going back. Great service otherwise.

Distant Dreams

A very disappointing and underwhelming experience. The Beignets were undercooked, the muffin was dry, the biscuit was microwaved with a soggy bottom, and the vanilla iced latte tasted like it came out of Jack in the Box. The skillets looked pretty but as you went past the top layer the quality really dropped. Definitely not planning on coming back.
