This place has been here for decades. It's super tasty, has a very south west Mexico style. The are fast, close to the beach and have quality ingredients.
Absolutely hit the spot. I was craving street tacos and I got exactly what I wanted. Raul hit the nail on the head. Flavourful, fast, fresh, great price point and bonus serenading from the opera blasting out from the 711 across the road.
Cute but delicious. If you drive or walk too fast you might mias this Encinitas gem. Highly recommend their chile verde…. I had the pork and the flavors were all there. Then you add those views and atmosphere. Even the 7/11 across the street plays ambient music (opera)
This is one of my favorite spots for a solid taco. I recommend the pork taco and adobaba. They are both very tender, tasty, and high quality. Service is always great and they are usually pretty quick. Very reasonable too. Their enchiladas are great as well. Fun spot in the heart of Encinitas and don’t miss out on refreshing gelato right next door!
As a Mexican tourist, I vouch for this Tacos. Friendly staff, spicy salsa and good flavor. Asada was my favorite. If you are chilango, the pastor it’s not going to be you favorite, but the variety is very good.
Street tacos, rolled tacos were incredible. Homemade salsa to die for. Surf and turf burrito was perfect, and I'm picky.
The tortilla was soooo good. 🥹 Picked these up on the way to the desert and they held up amazingly until lunch! Chicken Fajita is pictured! Loved the peppers - they were cooked to perfection.
This place is a great value for the location. Breakfast Burrito was awesome. I'll definitely come back to try other items.
Grab a bite and take it with you on the beach! So good. There will probably be a small line but it's worth it!

Great food at great prices! Fish tacos, crispy tacos , burrito amazingly delicious! Sitting here enjoying their chicken Soup on the beach 🏖️ ( a short walk away) watching the Ocean waves on a cool day.
Best tacos I've ever had. Authentic and so flavorful. They have a huge selection of fresh salsas and sauces. THE BEST. Do yourself a favor and go. Oh yeah, also super fair cheap prices.
Raul’s has been my go to street food since I moved to the area six months ago. I have tried many different things on the menu, and always leave full and excited for my next visit. I have taken many friends to Raul’s, and all have confirmed it is the absolute best (and most underrated) spot on the Encinitas strip. The food is very fresh, tasty, great portion sizes, reasonably priced, and is made quickly and efficiently. The staff here from the owners down to the high school students who work the weekends are all excellent. They are kind, professional, and are always a joy to chat with. For anyone looking for great affordable Mexican food on the strip or beyond, I cannot recommend a visit to Raul’s enough!! While parking isn’t the easiest, there is always a ton of parking off Vulcan, and near moonlight beach with a very short walk!
I came here for the first time and didn’t know what to order. Forrest recommended the pork tacos, they had guacamole and onion to top it off but what really stood out was their verde sauce! I will be back. Good service, patio area to sit, amazing quality food, reasonable prices! It’s the place for authentic Mexican style tacos! Thanks - jac&sky

Stayed in town for a week and hit this place 3 times it was that good. Asada street tacos & rolled chicken tacos are amazing!

Great little spot to grab a quick bite to eat. The tacos were fresh, tasty, and cheap. I got the carne asada street tacos and loved them. Down-to-earth place.
We always loved the meat rolled tacos! I forgot the chili relleno came in an egg - unusual.
Hot spot for the locals crowd Location is pretty small, you'll have to be lucky to get parking or seating Prices are ridiculous Awesome! Nothing over $10 The food wasn't to bad, not extremely traditional but close. My order got messed up, wanted a shrimp burrito got fish. (They're both from the ocean right?) I'd come back and give it another shot

Raul’s Shack is definitely a cute little spot with plenty of those laid-back Encinitas vibes going on. It has the kind of charm that makes you want to grab a seat, soak in the beach-town energy, and maybe hang out longer than you planned. That said, the fish tacos I tried were just okay. Not bad, but nothing that really stood out or made me want to rave about them. For a town known for great tacos, these felt more middle-of-the-road than memorable. Worth stopping by if you’re nearby and want the casual vibe, but I wouldn’t make a special trip just for the food.

Ordered a Carne asada burrito for $10 and received like 70% torilla instead. This was the only taco/mexican food in the area so I had my expectations low already and it did pan out that way. When there's no competition there's no incentive to improve your food. Also no restrooms for paying customers. Wanted hot sauce but they only had a mild salsa Avoid if possible.

Pretty.bad. the salsa wasn't spicy, or tasty. The seating area is pretty rundown and dirty. The burrito I had, hardly had any filling, just a folded up tortilla with the occasional suggestion of a piece of meat or a French fry. Disappointed
Chorizo breakfast burrito was only egg and chorizo. I appreciate how the chorizo wasn’t too greasy but the flavor was meh. The regular breakfast burrito was decent but not memorable. The chicken for the tacos was dry and not flavorful. The rice was yummy.
Portion has gotten smaller while price has increased. It’s funny, paying with card is slightly more expensive than paying with cash, which I saw on the machine. I paid in cash but they still charged me the price for card. What a joke of a cashier and business
