Customer service is definitely top notch. Very friendly and helpful. I noticed that as people came in, the baristas actually knew or remembered them - impressive. This creates a very nice ambience. I love all the quotes they have on the wall. Menu is simpler than your typical coffee place but the cappuccino and tea we ordered were delicious. It is definitely worth the trip.

True mom and pop business. Talked with owner Stephanie. Super nice. Excellent customer service. You feel like you're in small town America with a staff that truly cares. They deliver drinks to your table. This is not a Starbucks! Every drink is made custom for you. Nice little outdoor court yard. They're very successful but let's make them even more successful! They deserve it. By the way, the other owner is retired police. Yet another reason to visit!

The blue mug is the quintessential neighborhood coffee shop. The owner Stephanie has done an amazing job of creating a place with a wonderful atmosphere of welcoming customer service with outstanding coffee. You find yourself just wanting to linger inside or sitting outside on a beautiful day. I am so pleased to have this business in our community they are truly fantastic.

This place is so good! Their coffee is some of the best I have ever had and their pastries are delicious! Also great customer service. My second time coming in today and the girl behind the counter remembered my name. Everyone is so kind!

First time here. Cute little coffee & tea shop inside and out. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I came here because I was looking for a good tea shop. I love that they carry multiple organic loose leaf teas, along with pastries and savory breakfast items as well. I ordered the Lemon Ginger Mint tea for myself and coworker who was feeling under the weather. She said it brought her some relief 😌. All the drinks are a great price as well. Can't wait to try their organic chai next!

Blue Mug is my favorite coffee shop- has been for many years. I don’t know why I haven’t reviewed before! Definitely check them out if you have never been here. It’s a great little place for coffee, tea, pastries, bagels- they have a lot of yummy food. It’s a nice place to stop by and grab to go or to meet a few friends and sit for awhile. Lots of friendly people to help you!

This place doesn't fail to deliver. I'd say service here is 100x better than the coffee chain we all know about. No matter how busy or slow, each team member is smiling, talks to you like a person while looking you in the eyes, it's a very genuine interaction. They have interesting drink combinations, which are all very good. I have not been disappointed yet, thank goodness. They tend to get busy on the weekends. We got 2 drinks and my husband waited about 15m, well worth the wait, and the staff makes up for the wait as well.

It was a wonderful place I would never have noticed if I hadn't taken a wrong turn. Would love to come back next time I'm in the area. Orange peel mocha was delicious! They have some merchandise that they were genuinely happy to sell to you. I love this place after just 1 visit. New favorite coffee shop in the area. Coffee was great! I loved their snicker doodle latte. Great for non-coffee drinkers as well as they make their teas into lattes which was perfect for my wife .

Every December my family and I drive from Amarillo to Escondido. 8 years in a row our of 12 this place has been our first stop. Coffee is great. Atmosphere is good, energy is FANTASTIC! If you want the full customer service, take it from 6 people who drive 1,078 miles and the first stop is here! If that doesn’t tell you something about them, I don’t know what will. Will be there in a few days, will repost pictures for all to see how great they are!

I’ve been a regular here for a long time - both prior to moving away to university and after coming home ❤️ the team at blue mug has always been so sweet and the quality of the food and drinks is absolutely unmatched. My partner Kyle and I are so grateful to the blue mug team for always providing us with a great start to our day. They take care to remember our orders which means so much to us! We feel at home when visiting here and all the baristas are so kind and welcoming (despite me being so socially anxious at times haha!) ❤️ The Espresso here is one of the only espressos I can drink without sweetener when I brew at home, but when I visit I love to have a white mocha latte with oat milk and whip! It’s perfect every single time. I will forever stand by the statement that this is the best coffee shop!

First time visiting here. Overall completely happy with it. Very good coffee! Friendly staff. They were pretty busy but did a great job getting everyone served. Would definitely recommend them for anyone who loves a good cup of coffee!

This is another excellent coffee shop. The staff was very nice and were working efficiently getting orders out quickly. The espresso itself was very pleasant with good flavor and well balanced. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors and the interior chairs are quite comfortable. Wi-Fi speed is 45mbps making this a great place to work or study.

I had this place saved on my list to check out and finally made it there today. I tried a hot Mexican Mocha and a blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese. My first impression was great, because the customer service was amazing. I spoke to the ladies at the register and let them know it was my first time there, they welcomed me and answered my questions. My drink was divine, it was a perfect blend of Mexican Hot chocolate and espresso. A lot of places leave this drink grainy, but this one did not have any of that. My bagel was nice and warm with the perfect amount of cream cheese. I think I have found another go to spot.

Not enough words to describe how amazing this place is. It’s the “Cheers” of Escondido, which is why our family is there weekly. My 2.5 year old loves seeing Sam and the girls, and we’re always running into people we know. The drinks are fantastic, the food options are great, and it’s the first time I’ve ever lived somewhere and felt like I have a local spot that’s worthy of being part of a weekly routine. And yeah there’s a decent wait during prime time Saturday morning, so just plan to enjoy the atmosphere! It’s worth it.

Superb Staff! Very friendly and attentive. Can be extremely busy during the weekends (up to a 20 minute wait). Place is packed at 9AM! I ordered online and arrived 20 minutes later just as they were finishing up. I was looking forward to this coffee since I had a long night and had a 12 hr shift ahead of me. I customized my order as a vanilla latte + caramel drizzle. I took my initial sip and thought it was extremely sour. I’m not sure if it’s the beans, the milk or the drizzle but that was by far the worst coffee I’ve ever tasted. I just couldn’t get past the sour taste. I’ve ordered here before a few times and it’s never been this sour tasting. I tried to fix the drink when I got to work but nothing could or helped it. (More half and half, condense milk) <- not good. Ending up throwing the drink away sadly. Unfortunately I will not be back to order their coffee, it traumatized me. I think I just got unlucky because this place seems to be doing well! Their chai tea latte is good though! I’ll stick to that If I return.

We got their seasonal menu: summer nectar. If you like a light peach, heavier black tea, then this is a good option for you. I did really like their cheddar bagel with veggie garlic cream cheese though. The bagel was perfectly toasted, and though the cream cheese was chock-full of carrots, they added a good crunch.

They are super slow and have zero sense of urgency. It took over 20 minutes to get a smoothie that tasted like flavored water. I recommend they visit Washington state and see how efficient coffee shops are and can be.
