This review is long overdue, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Shangri-La for offering a restaurant like this in my community. The food, the drinks, the service, the vibes; all top-notch.

Delicious food in a beautifully decorated restaurant! I had the Shang Burger with Truffle Parmesan Herb Fried and the Seasonal Mixed Green Salad and was very happy with both. The salad was fresh and had a nice mix of sweet, salty and sour flavors. I love the crunch that the granola and the seeds add. The fries had an earthy flavor but it wasn't a very strong truffle flavor. It was still delicious and went well with the parmesan topping. The burger was good but not mind blowing. I particularly like the pickled onions and how sour they are. The vibe in this restaurant is so cute! I really like the vibrant modern decor and all the art pieces on the walls and shelves. I wanna come back when the weather's nicer so I could try seating in their outdoor area. Special shout out to the foot handles on their restroom doors. Thats genius! And way more hygenic than door handles

Shangri-La is my favorite go to restaurant in Fair Oaks!! From their savory dishes, their delicious drinks where they add the perfect amount of fine finishing details, and their exceptional customer service is paramount to having an enjoyable time each and every time here. This place is huge!! Their outdoor seating is like an oasis of fun times equipped with backyard games. Come one or come all, EVERYONE is welcome. 🤗 Dietary needs? They have something for everyone. Their concept of pleasing their customers’ palette and the relaxed vibe makes this my home away from home. I highly recommend this place for ALL!! 🫶🏼

Went here for a girls night out. Getting a reservation was easy and convenient. It was a great night to sit outside and enjoy the evening sky. It was great vibes and not too loud. Our food and drinks came out fast. The star drink was the queen bee, I think. Delicious. The fries arw amazing, the Brussel sprouts were crispy, and the cheddar blue was the star on the cheese plate. Our server was great and very attentive. Recommend!

THE BACKGROUND. My friends raved about this place since it opened. I wanted to take my wife here after our baby was born in March of 2020 but I don't need to explain why that didn't happen. We finally got around to making an outside dining reservation for a date night at 5:45 PM on the last Friday of July 2021. THE EXPERIENCE. It was 104° today but the six cocktails we shared, the umbrella shade, and fine misters kept us cool and refreshed. Our server Kendall was pleasant, informative and attentive. We were seated near the bar and enjoyed overhearing the occasional mixology banter from the two bartenders. Ordered plates arrived quickly - there was always something to pick at. New cocktail orders were served just as we finished up our prior glass. THE FOOD. The food was delicious. We started with the three cheese plate (from the desert menu - very European), Chef's Deviled Eggs (Mediterranean themed with hummus on this occasion), the Grilled Riblets, the Grilled Shrimp and shared a single entre of Mary's Fried Chicken. We ordered the Candy Bar for dessert to go because we were stuffed. THE FYI. I'd recommend making reservations in advance, and (I shouldn't have to say this...) bringing/wearing a mask, and (I shouldn't have to say this...) being an unentitled joyful person. These folks work very hard to make a very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely be back.

Amazing ambiance. This is such a cool spot. Very upscale with a laid back vibe. Every time I come here it’s fantastic. The 2 main guy bartenders are always amazing! The food comes out looking beautiful and the cocktails to match. A lot of thought and elegance is put into the menu. I would highly recommend coming here. It’s mostly out doors so it’s perfect for a cool summer or autumn evening. The Queen bee is the purple cocktail with the flowers. Very simple with a hint of sweetness.

I went here for the first time with a friend who suggested it. It was a nice atmosphere, nice service, and great food. My friend got the burger, I got the grilled octopus, and we both got Mai Tais. We forgot to take pics before we ate, and it was GOOD! I definitely want to go back and try some other dishes here!

From the moment we walked in as a group; the hostess was very pleasant, accomodating, professional and inviting. The atmosphere, design and decore was well thought of and put together. We sat outdoors and I felt like I was on vacation in paradise. It was a Friday night. The chef came out, greeted us and gave us a run down of all the food and talked about how it was farm to fork. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm a foodie at heart, a tough critic and have traveled the world and explored many different foods and restaurants. This has to be the best and most fantastic experience I have ever had. 5 Stars in all areas. Our waiter was wonderful too. I can't get over how amazing the food was. Even all the sauces! The flavors were well combined and thought of. The chef truly is an artist in his craft. My favorite was the slushie drink, super refreshing...absolutely delicious and the tuna crudo, heavenly and very fresh. We also had the steak and wow... so yummy. I can't talk enough about how incredible everything was. I enjoyed the music as well. The service makes you feel like you're a celebrity and they make you feel special. A truly unforgettable dinner!!!

Every visit is a fantastic experience. The food is consistently delicious and fresh. The bartenders and service staff create a lovely vibe and atmosphere. We visit a few times a month. It's great for date night, family night or a celebration with friends.

First let me say.. MMMMM! This place is so cute! My friend and I ordered the fish tacos, one is fried and the other grilled (so happy that they gave the option). We had Cesar Salad and Deviled Eggs for the appetizer.. they actually change the flavor of the Deviled Eggs, this time is was Greek Salad inspired. It was perfect! The drinks were flavored nicely too! The purple drink is a smoked tequila and the yellow is a non alcoholic pineapple cooler. Definitely recommend!

I’ve loved Shangri-La since it first opened. The food is always amazing and the bartenders are fantastic. I live in Fair Oaks and this has become one of our go-to spots. I do have one suggestion. I completely understand and appreciate the elevated vibe they’re going for—it’s part of what makes the place special. That said, I think there may be a bit of a missed opportunity with the bocce ball courts. There are large signs saying kids can’t play on them and must stay with adults, but honestly, I come here at least once a quarter and they’re often not being used. Given the location and the number of families in the area, it could be interesting to consider adding a small playground in the back. I know that might sound unconventional for a place like this, but I’ve seen restaurants do this successfully in Europe. What’s really missing around here is a place where parents can enjoy an incredible meal and drinks while their kids have a safe place to play nearby. Right now, the only places that come close are breweries. There are almost always families here when I visit, so just a thought! Either way, Shangri-La remains one of my favorite spots.

Had my sister-in-law’s birthday dinner here this weekend. Everything from reserving a table, restaurant atmosphere, quality of food, friendly staff & manager - all made it such a great experience! Special shout out to manager Summer, bar manager Ray and the front entrance staff Precious! You guys truly made a great impression on us and more importantly my sister-in-law had a great birthday evening! Thank you, we’ll be back again!

Appetizers were great, ordered the deviled eggs with fried chicken on top, garlic chili shrimp, and the jalapeño cornbread with caramel butter Ordered Mary's fried chicken for entree and Fried chicken with glaze was nice. Brownie sundae was ok. Fun vibrant spot for drinks and appetizers.

We placed our order, and drinks came out quickly. Both B.F.G. Cosmo and Queen Bee were delightful. The queen bee had a very distinctive flavor, I truly enjoyed it. I ordered the Baja Fish Taco plate, came with chips and dip, and two medium- large deep-fried fish on corn tortilla. I think it needs a little more flavor, but overall, nice presentation. The corn bread- very flavorful, and the butter on top made it worth it. We also ordered the chef choice deviled eggs for 3 pieces, maybe pass for the price. It was good, but not for what I paid. *Down fall was the parking, very limited, and half the parking spots were for other establishments, clearly marked. So we parked a block down and on the street.

Great food and ambience with a friendly service staff. The food menu is small, but the quality and taste were excellent. If you're seated near the bar it's somewhat loud, but not the loudest I've experienced. I look forward to returning when the weather is warmer and having a drink with friends in the patio.

I ordered the riblets and the deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were fantastic. The riblets however, were ridiculously overpriced. $18 for six small bites of PORK is just not reasonable. My favorite drink is the old-fashioned and when I asked what bourbon they used for it I was told Evan Williams. That is a laughable choice for a supposedly upscale restaurant especially one that is charging $15 for it. Evan Williams is rotgut bourbon. Probably won't be back. just under impressed. Oh and pro tip happy hour is 10% off. That is stingy as hell.

We asked for the kid's menu, extra utensils, extra chair, drinks, hot cocoa for the hungry kid, water refills 3 times each, and she always forgot. Even after she apologized and promised to bring these, she would still forget. We ended up serving ourselves. When our cocktails were finally served, half of the drink had spilled onto the tray while being carried, yet no effort was made to correct it or offer a replacement. We waited for half an hour to get our appetizer and then another hour before we received our entries, and the entries were semi-cold when they arrived. The server was nowhere to be found for us to even ask where our food went (she just disappeared for an hour? Someone else served the food in the end) We’re pretty sure our waitress chose not to put forth any effort because of the party size and the automatic gratuity, which was added without any prior notice. On top of that, one member of our party accidentally tipped on top of the automatic gratuity. When they went to the manager to correct it, Leslie first argued that she already informed us about the automatoc gratuity before she asked for more tips (NOT true). When the situation escalated to the manager and manager agreed to refund the extra tips, Leslie came out and was very rude, saying, “This is coming out of my own pocket.” Instead of handling the situation professionally, she made us feel uncomfortable for simply asking for a fair resolution. Overall, a very frustrating experience, and we hope management addresses these issues.

Highly recommended by 2 friends but what a let down for me. Started out calling to get a reservation and being told by the lady who answered the phone same day reservations are not done by this restaurant. Yet I then went to open table and got a reservation, strike one for the customer experience. Arrived for Dinner at 7:00 on Friday and the atmosphere was very nice. Think beach side casual. Night lighting and chill environment which was a good start. Good selection on the menu to choose from. Many good sharable appetizers. We ordered Moroccan chicken to share which was very tasty. Crispy outside juicy tender inside and a very tasty sauce that reminded me of a green Indian chutney. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive and our server was nowhere to be seen and had to be flagged down and asked where our food was. He then dropped it off about 5 minutes later with no comment or apology. For entree I got the Shangra Burger which was very flavorful and well cooked. Unfortunately my fiance ordered the fish taco's and the fish was definitely bad. The fishy aroma was very bad and as soon as she cut into the fish it immediately turned her stomach. The server didn't check back with us after the food was delivered and again had to be flagged down to take the foul smelling tacos away. My drink was tasty but the glass was cracked, chipped and sharp which could be dangerous drinking from. I let the server know and all I got was oh I will tell it to rotate it out when you are done... I had high hopes with 2 friend recommendations and was hoping for a nice date night but was VERY disappointed. Seemed like it had great potential just a rather poor experience for us this visit. Maybe just an off day for them but I am unlikely to return or recommend based on this rather poor experience

ZERO STARS IF I COULD. The owner of this establishment has her child who seems to be no older than 13 working. This is absolutely unacceptable. My husband and I were trying to enjoy dinner but couldn’t bear the fact that there is blatant child abuse going on here. I WILL be reporting this to the department of labor
