Tip: If you like Chipotle, this is a good place to try with a different flavor. The fresh-made flour tortillas are a must-try.

Always love the fresh tasting good food here. I get the grilled chicken salad which is alot of food. The way i eat it is as a salad and then with the fresh flour tortilla they give you with it as a burrito. So you simply get 2 courses. Good food, my only complaint but i guess that is with everything you buy today are the hiked prices, but again thats everywhere nowadays!
My first time here and I was shocked at how great the flavor of the food was. The tortillas are freshly made and everything is delicious. The man who took my order was very helpful. I went in during lunch hour and soon after the lines were very long which is a sign the food is pretty good.
Tried a new cafe rio location Got attended by Blanca, which she also gave me feedback on shrimp ,which in my years , I never knew establishment even sold? She also helped me out when the Horchata dispenser which was clogged because of the ingredients ? Like rice buildup ?or the cinnamon ? *trying to get my drink* . Once letting her know she acted on helping me out to unplug, and even then, since it wasn’t a quick fix, she went back into the kitchen to grab a ladle and poured me a cups worth that I had purchased. Great customer service ,very attentive, friendly greeters once I came in and place looks clean and of course the food was good. Made verde Carne Asada enchiladas with rice and beans ,great lunch :)
Issis was a very fast and friendly team member. Helped me through my first time visiting Cafe Rio. Meal was excellent

Big fan of Cafe Rio my favorite is the pork barbacoa burrito, lots of flavor and better than that restaurant named after a pepper.
I really like this restaurant. Right off the freeway and lots of parking. Staff is super friendly and food quality is excellent. Restaurant dining area is open, clean and they have a big patio with umbrellas. Drink selection is awesome and the have flavor pumps. Oh! And a huge selection of different hot sauces. I think that's a nice touch. Food is made in an assembly line and the staff is very helpful. They are quick and the food looks great when it's done.
This is the outlet of Mexican fast food chain. Menu is designed similar to Chipotle ‘s choose entree, choose protein and choose sauce. Of course you can add more guacamole or sour cream or salsa, etc. I tried the burrito with sweet pork and habanero sauce. Ingredients were clean and fresh and the dishes bit more authentic than Chipotle.
We got here at 9:30 they close at 10 PM they were out of the fire roasted chicken and they didn’t have but one taco left of shredded chicken breast so we got Kearny Asada taco and pork hatch chili quesadilla service was quick food was OK

Cafe Rio is a good place to try if you like Chipotle. Similar kind of food but with a different flavor. One thing that I do really like about them is the fresh made flour tortillas. They are super delicious. If you do choose to go I suggest the sweet pork.

The food was good if you're ok with it being very salty, the Mexican seasoning was tasty and the ingredients seemed fresh. The shrimp were a good size and the overall portions were quite reasonable for the price. Great selection of drinks. Service was prompt and friendly. Very clean. Would eat here again when I'm on the road.
Food was fairly good meat seem to be a little bit aged . Also staff seemed a bit edgy. The soda on the other hand, superb excellent perfect combination of syrup and carbonation. I chose the cherry Coke seriously best I’ve had yet no joke!!! Location was a bit dingy meaning they could’ve mopped and clean countertops, as well as tables. Dust built up in corners of building windows were dirty. Overall not worth the money.

Very, very sad. The ladies don't look happy. Except for the guy at the register. Price is fine but food was not good. Definitely better to pay more and go to the other spot.

The restaurant is a lot like Chipotle (from the decor to the ambiance to the way you order). The aguas frescas were a bit funky. The horchata tasted like the Klass mixin packet, the hibiscus one was a bit too watery (couldn't really taste hibiscus), the mango nada (nada mango) one seemed interesting to try at first but it just tasted like a sharp citrusy tajin water (didn't really taste the mango in it). The tortillas are made fresh, they have a dough mixer and someone making the tortillas right in front (which was nice to see). The beef barbacoa quesadilla is good, the barbacoa makes it big enough to share. One thing I thought was weird was that you can only get toppings OR sides, you have to do one or the other and you can't do both🤷♀️
Been here in th past always always with a great experience, but recently order some salads and the amount of lettuce they were giving was laughable. Honestly qualified for an open face burrito. Next time something like this happens I wouldn’t even pay for it.

I guess I should have known by the fact that on a Saturday at 2pm the restaurant was empty, so maybe that was my mistake. But it took four minutes of standing waiting to order for anyone to acknowledge me. Then when it came to ordering, it felt like the employee was annoyed. Was talking to her coworker laughing, asked 2 times what kind of beans I wanted like it was my fault for interrupting her conversation. Then the cheese container was empty so she scraped out the crumbs and threw them on my bowl. I asked for white cheese since it was clear she wasn’t going to refill the cheese and give me any more and there was barely any on my bowl. $1.50 up charge. Food was also barely warm. Needless to say, I’ll never be back. Based on how they were empty on a Saturday anyway, I don’t think they’ll be around long regardless. Hire people who care about their jobs, or pay them enough to make them care about basic customer service if you want to save this place.
I've been to a few Cafe Rio restaurants. I dropped in to have a couple of tacos. As I walked in there were no customers and I was a little confused because when I stop by Newport for instance, it's always busy and I usually wait in line for a while. The time was a little before 4 so I expected that the lunch rush was over and the employees took advantage of the downtime to clean. The reason I'm writing this is because I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. I started to order my tacos I noticed how the food looked old, and I noticed spills and the food everywhere, I almost left but I thought maybe they were very busy and gave them the benefit of the doubt. When I got my food I started walking to a table and realized most of the tables were dirty. I started to become a little upset. I cleaned my table and went to get my drink and to my surprise all of the fresh flavored water except for Horchata containers were empty. I sat down and expected to see the associates clean around the food, tables or refill the drinks. Instead, they chatted right in front of the food and didn't care.
When the Employees were done talking to each other about their personal life, I ordered two burritos. They only wrap it with meat, cheese, rice and beans. Everything else is on the side and you have to put it inside yourself. Sour cream, guacamole, corn and whatever else you want. They didn't know which burrito had what meat at the end after putting it through the oven. Meat still was cold. Paid 41 dollars and was not worth it. Location in Rancho cucamonga is better.
So after getting out of the gym my friend and I wanted to get a burrito. Going in the restaurant looks nice and clean. But the food in the other hand taste worse then any dog food. The bread was hard at some places. The meat tasted like wet cat. I took about 3-4 bites hoping it to get better, It didn’t.
I LOVE cafe Rio and being new to this area I was psyched to go here. I don’t know if this place had a bad day or if the quality here is just horrible but this place didn’t have the portions, taste or quality that Cafe Rio has me spoiled to. Different beef taste. Different sauce taste. Different tortilla texture and taste. Got two roast beef burritos for 30$ but hardly any beef between the two of them to the point we asked for extra on the side and got a little glob for both of us. Never going to this location again, I’ll just drive to highland. Sorry Cafe Rio.

I had a very disappointing experience here due to poor sanitation practices. While my burrito was being prepared, the server lifted the chafing dish and held it directly over my food while scooping the meat. As she did this, a large stream of murky residual water poured into my burrito. The liquid was visibly cloudy and contained food particles that had clearly accumulated throughout the day. I asked if that water was clean since it had just been poured into my food, and she replied, “for the most part,” which suggested she was aware it wasn’t fully sanitary. Instead of offering to remake the burrito, she smirked and continued asking what else I wanted on it. I declined and left, as I was not comfortable eating food that had been contaminated. As I walked to my car, I could see staff laughing, as if it were unreasonable for me to expect proper food handling standards. Because of this experience, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values cleanliness and basic food safety practices.
I hate to be harsh, but the service here was really disappointing. From the moment we walked in, it felt like no one wanted to be there. We weren’t even greeted, and the staff seemed completely unenthusiastic about serving anyone. When we asked for just a little extra lettuce on the enchiladas, we were told it would be $6. She said she would have to charge us for a side salad if we wanted a bit more lettuce, without any flexibility or friendliness. The way the food was handled didn’t help either; it felt half-hearted, like she was just throwing things together rather than taking care in serving. Overall, the experience left a lot to be desired. If you’re looking for good food and decent service, this probably isn’t the place.
We love going to Cafe Rio. Unfortunately, we have had bad experiences at the ones in Redlands and Rancho. Before this experience, we have had no problems at this location. However, upon entering we watched one of the employees handling money and the register with gloves on. She then proceeded to help out another customer with the same gloves. She put her gloves in a paper bag to open it and proceed to use a scooper to put chips in the bag. After helping that customer and checking them out with the same gloves on. She came over to help me and my mom. She went to put our tortillas in the bowl. She touched our tortillas with her dirty gloves. My mom then asked her very politely to please change her gloves. The employee rolled her eyes and walked away without any acknowledgement of my mom’s request such as an apology. We felt so uncomfortable and disrespected. We decided to leave and go somewhere to eat. This experience has really turned us off of Cafe Rio. We are unsure if we will be returning, which is really unfortunate since we do really enjoy the food.
I hope you like soup, because everything is served soup style, even the nachos. Even if you ask them politely, they're going to barely tip the liquids off while maintaining uncomfortable eye contact with you like they're daring you to ask for less liquids. Even when it's not busy, they don't maintain the drink bubblers so drinks are always limited. The employees really seem to hate working here. They're not exactly rude, just barely acknowledge you and don't really care much about what you want. They seems to have adequate staff. They just move slowly. The rewards program is ridiculous. A lot of work for food you may not ever want, which is a huge issue for some of us with dietary restrictions. It's a lot of hassle for a sugary dessert or drink I can't even have. I used to love this place. I still come occasionally, about every 3-6 months, but I think it's out of nostalgia because I'm always disappointed when I leave now.
Absolutely disgusting food was cold! Chicken was bitter rice tasted like it’s been sitting for decades employees had a sour face like they didn’t want to be there or work! You better going to cava or chipotle down the street to sum it up it’s dog water..
