This is the second time we've stopped here for breakfast, after a fun weekend in Dallas. The food is amazing every time. The lunch menu looks delicious, but I can never make myself order anything other than breakfast. The eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, biscuits, and chicken fried steak are perfect. If you want a delicious diner breakfast that doesn't hurt your wallet, you have to stop here.

This place has been here for over 20 yrs!! We just found it 2 months ago and have already eaten there 6 times!!! It is so good, y'all! The food is delicious home cooking and the vibe is small- town-charm with regulars- that-the-wait-staff know-by -name kind of charm!! All the staff is sooo nice and friendly. The breakfasts are delicious with pancakes bigger than your face! Their burgers come 1/2 lb. And 1/3lb ( for us wimps!). The meat is juicy and flavorful The buns warm and soft. The veggies fresh and crisp!! They come with so many fries, you won't be able to eat them all! ( Good for sharing) The chicken fried chicken is fantastic! Daily lunch specials. Senior menu. We love this place!!

This restaurant doesn't seem like much on the outside, but wow! Looks can be deceiving! The food is amazing! The salads were huge and fresh, the fries were some of the best I've ever had and the pintos were delicious! And the desserts!!! They were HUGE! Definitely large enough to share!

I loved everything about this cafe. Very cute inside, lots of recognition for veterans. Staff is incredibly sweet and friendly. Even when it was super busy, servers kept a smile on their faces and continued to be polite and prompt. Now as for the food ..... AMAZING! SO freaking good. I'll definitely return here!

West Side Cafe is ABSOLUTELY my family’s go- to breakfast spot and Diner! We visit monthly and no matter what new breakfast places open in town, we always compare their food to West Side’s and we always end up right back where we started! When the parking lot is full and the line is out the door, you know you’ve stumbled upon something special. The hole in the wall building, the tired 80’s decor and the long wait times are vastly offset by their incredible food, service and patriotism! From the moment you pull into the parking lot, their appreciation for the brave men and women who defend our country is proudly displayed by the American flag hung just outside the entry. Inside, you’ll see a continuation of that support hanging on every square inch of their walls. Proudly framed and displayed are hundreds of pictures of service men and women - mostly veterans. That alone earns them 5 stars from me as a granddaughter to a man who served and the wife of a man who also served! The food is always 💯! I prefer my fried eggs over medium and they get it right Every. Single. Time! Old school greasy fried Hash Browns? Check! Sourdough Toast and old fashioned Grits? Check! The hubs loves their gigantic omelet and their Steak breakfast platter. The lunch and dinner offerings are equally fantastic with wonderful options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We always struggle when we go around lunchtime to choose breakfast or lunch! The service is always awesome and the restaurant is filled with employees who are happy to serve you. They offer curbside pickup and also homemade deserts to go. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and we will be fans and customers for life!

I am speechless! From the time we entered the atmosphere was screaming this is the place to be. It was 32• outside and inside was warm as the comfort of your home. The greeter was AWESOME . The server was absolutely AMAZING. The person who cleared the table was not only attentive, as soon as we were finished with a plate it was cleared from the table expeditiously,he was FANTASTIC. Now the food is in a class all by itself….. the food was IMMACULATE. My palate was satisfied beyond measure. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly it felt as if we went to breakfast at grandma’s house. Thank you.

PROS: So overall this place is 4.5 Stars. The only thing that I was slightly underwhelmed with was the chicken fried chicken. Although it was good, it potentially could have been a lot better if they actually season the chicken before they fry it. If they did season the chicken, I guess in my personal opinion it was not enough. And I'm not talking about seasoning the batter, I'm talking about seasoning the actual chicken. It was a little bland but the decently seasoned fried batter taste just fine. But I didn't enjoy as much because I felt like the chicken was not seasoned itself. The carrots were good. The mashed potatoes were absolutely amazing, simple but amazing. The iced tea is amazing. The service was really good. I forgot his name. But it was a black guy, he was really cool and he served our table well. He was great. The lady that set us at our table was also really nice. Basically everybody we experience there that whether or not I contacted them, they were cheerful and nice and made it a point to thank us for our visit and just all around courteous and sweet people. I can definitely see myself coming back to this place. Apparently my brother had been coming here for 15 years and didn't tell us about it. I wish I had taken some photos but just imagine a really nice generous portions of mashed potatoes, a nice piece of chicken, fried chicken and a good helping of carrots. It was amazing. Also, the cornbread was really good. Another pet peeve of mine is not having enough ice my drink... The amount of ice in my glass was beyond adequate. CONS: The only real negatives besides the lightly seasoned chicken fried chicken, was the tables were little small. Albeit I'm not a small person, but I'm not enormous. And it's kind of tight fitting for people at a four chair table. I didn't have a lot available room. So if there was anything that could be improved it would be seasoning the chicken on the chicken fried chicken, and although possibly not really doable would be somehow having slightly bigger seeding, table situation. Also, I wish they served whole jalapenos. And it's not a deal-breaker at all. It's just something that I wish I could enjoy with my meal.

Not a horrible place, however... starting out the parking lot is a nightmare. The wait was out the door. The atmosphere is very loud, and i found myself repeating myself or speaking up to talk to my party multiple times. While i didn't mind that much, there were MANY children so maybe keep that in mind. The food was good but nothing extraordinary for all the other listed struggles, but my party found a quite large and gross piece of plastic in her hashbrowns about the size of a stick of gum. Giving credit where it is due, the place is very military oriented and supportive which is always nice to see. The staff are also very kind. Prices are decent, and they have a senior menu. This seems like a small diner that used to be the best in town but got too big for itself. However, i could be wrong.
