One of a kind place...lots of cool memorabilia to check out. We love how friendly everyone is here, both the staff making you feel like you're at Mama's house, and the fellow diners. Especially enjoy the old-timers, most likely revered vets, treating themselves to a good meal is nice to see. We've been coming here with our best friend, an Army veteran, every time he comes to visit from NJ and will keep coming here for years to come. Try the ham steak, tacos, pancakes and skillets are awesome!
If you're a vet (or have a relative/friend who is) and living in OC and haven't been here, then you deserve an NJP. Come down and support and this fine establishment, you will not be disappointed. Great food and awesome memorabilia.
One of our favorite breakfast place. I'll always order their breakfast wrap. Very good. Done with egg whites, tomatoes, avocados and spinach all wrapped in a spinach tortilla. Comes with a bowl of fresh fruits. Very filling and healthier breakfast.
Very nice family owned business, ive been going there for about 5 years ish, workers are very chill, food is very good, and the inside is decorated to the brim with military stuff (Army, navy, marines, coast guard, ect.) Recommend to anyone in the area for some good breakfast and very nice staff!
Summer is the best freakin server ever. Always a smile on that girl. Everyone there is great but especially Summer ☀️
Be careful or you'll drive right past this gem. You walk into a retro dreamland, a true diner with all the sights, sounds and smells of days past. The food is incredible, with huge portions bursting with flavor. The service is top notch and the prices are quite reasonable. The military theme is tastefully presented and conveys the honor of our troops. Now that I have discovered Paul's, I will make it a point to go there every time I visit SoCal.
Great service. They were super warm and friendly when I came in. The service was quick too. I felt like I was a regular even though it was my first time. The atmosphere felt spartan and homely at the same time. Ron Swanson would love it here. Food was great quality as well. Would definitely come here again.
Love this place. It’s a reminder of how it used to be and what it means to be proud of your countrymen and the military. Staff is ALWAYS friendly and the food never misses. Give this place a try and invite everyone you know. Let’s keep this place alive.
Absolutely delicious food! Stephanie is a wonderful ball of awesomeness too! The only disappointment is that I haven't been here prior to today (06.11.25) AND, they sell t-shirts... I'm going home with one!
Biggest country fried steak ever. If I go within 20 miles of this place I'm stopping and getting one
This spot is excellent! If you have never been and are looking for some home style cooking, go ! This is my 1st review here not sure why I never reviewed before but here it is..... We have been here many times and the menu has great choices and the daily specials are always a good choice to. Great mix of atmosphere, wonderful service and bomb food so its always a fun dining experience... ! Most unike and fun choice on the everyday menu is the military style traditional SOS breakfast served on a metal tray in case that something you enjoy or just wanna try. Also the restaurant is decorated in honor of our military, I dig this also
I was down in OC from West LA and decided to stop into this tiny military themed diner. I’ve been working through all the diners in LA and OC and this was next up on my list. It’s quite small on the inside, but has a great military and history theme to it. The Marines are especially well represented. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. There’s a large free parking lot attached right out front and pricing was very fair. They had a lot of great specials available, but I decided to go with one of their more popular dishes, which was the Portuguese Sausage Skillet. It was honestly really good and I especially liked the gravy on top. It was a lot of food so I was not able to finish it, but I really enjoyed trying to. You definitely will not leave hungry after eating at this restaurant. I would recommend if you are in the area and I would stop in again next time I am close by.
I absolutely love this place small place, But let me say when we entered we were greeted and seated by a gentleman. Our waitress Stephanie introduced herself with amazing energy and a beautiful smile 😊 the food is so good, made from scratch thanks for the great home like comfortable visit. We will be back on our next Vacation. Also Military friendly lots of neat military history decor.
Great coffee shop that honors US Vetrans and the armed forces. I've been here a number of times and have always left with a smile and a satisfied tummy. They serve breakfast all day but closes after a late lunch hour.
What a break gems in town of fountain valley. Biscuits and gravy is a bomb 💣. Waffle combo is very good. So full after finish. Salisbury very good after breakfast now ready go to take a nap. Staffs so friendly and funny 😁. Atmosphere very interesting. I love the military team here so cute. You can see in the pictures I share. Very great place to have mornings routine start for new day. Love people here. I’m very enjoy my time here. Thank you. ❤️
Excellent diner! I have a love for diners and this place was amazing. Military diner style, big breakfast quality portion meals, warm and friendly servers, and awesome jalapeño sauce that went well with my sausage. Stop by if you’re in for an all American meal. 🇺🇸
Small cafe that is military themed. There are many memorabilia all around the walls and tables. I loved it! My in laws took me here for breakfast and service and food was wonderful! I ordered their Perdu with bacon and sausages. Their sausages were very delicious. The French toast was amazing. Never had an empty glass. We were checked in on often. My in laws have been going here for some time and the servers immediately recognized them. Definitely a great place where they pay attention to you! Will come back and recommend!
Paul's Coffee Shop is a great place for a delicious breakfast. My kids loved experiencing the display of all the armed forces items and were able to ask some good questions about our veterans. Delicious food was served on military mess hall trays and the employees and service was friendly and fun. Be sure to thank a veteran while you're there!
Food was outstanding! This is a little gem! Well worth going here for wonderful comfort food.
Best breakfast in Orange County! Always great food and customer service! Biggest piece of chicken fried steak, I’ve ever seen!
Great place to have an all American breakfast. Good portion sizes. The decor plays a tribute to the American forces.
Support local! Paul's has been near my cousin since she was a kid and they've only recently started to visit. Hearty portion sizes, great coffee, and amazingly delicious food! My wife and I shared the chicken fried chicken and it was of the charts good! The country potatoes were outstanding. Paul's has an incredible military support theme that I really appreciated. We will be back at least once a visit!
Always Great Food, Prices / Portions. Wonderful Staff who Greet you with a Smile and a Friendly Hello. Comfortable & Casual
A cute little whole in the wall restaurant with an emphasis on military. Every branch of the military is featured on the walls with lots of memoribilla to look at. The servers are friendly and the food is good. Only opened for breakfast and lunch.

I met a good friend here for breakfast and had a great time and really good food. Everybody there was really cool and the eggs benedict rocked.
This place is amazing. Great place to have an awesome breakfast. It's nice to see a lot of retired veterans and listening to some of their stories. I highly recommend this place.

There's is no question about it, the service here is great! They are friendly, interactive, and we haven't experienced anything wrong with our orders!... we've been coming here for about a year now, and all the waitresses are great! The food is good and you get plenty of it... the theme is of Military service, so there's pictures and items of the many women and men that's have served our country. We've only come here at breakfast, but it's tasty. The place is pretty small, but they make due with what little room they have. Support their business if you're in the neighborhood!
Cute place devoted to the people that have served our country. French toast was good, but nothing you couldn’t get somewhere else. Just the atmosphere made it worth visiting.
A small cafe catering to military veterans - especially Marines. The area around the kitchen & cashier's station looks like a ship's bulkhead and the place is filled with Marine & Navy memorabilia. The feature menu item is SOS served on a stainless steel mess tray. The SOS is tasty but not nearly as meat-heavy as USMC SOS, which is a meat-filled hamburger gravy. This retired Marine was disappointed with the limited amount of meat in the SOS. :( The place is open every day, for breakfast & lunch.

My daughter took me here for my birthday breakfast, chicken fried steak was tasty, huge and unfortunately too tough for any of us to eat. However I will give them another chance because the service was stellar. Don't remember the Greek waitress 's name but she was awesome. Cute too.

It's been a while since I set foot in this place. I originally came when it was featured on TV food channel. Food was ok. I ordered the moco loco with over easy eggs but they turned out to be over medium to hard.
Great all American diner with the best waitresses. Tons of food, but I think it’s old military recipes. My chicken fried steak took up the entire 12” round plate. But the brown gravy didn’t do the meat justice. If you want great service and a large hot meal that tastes average you have to go here. All the Marine stuff will make you feel proud of America.
Average food. The country fried steak is famous because it's huge and 1 foot long, but that doesn't mean it's good. It's too thick. Either they should pound it thinner, or they should pick a thinner cut to begin with. Maybe the country fried chicken is better, I'll have to try it next time. The gravy is great.

Local gathering spot for vets over breakfast and coffee. A bit expensive for the quality of food on the plate, but they pile it on so come hungry! Friendly service and lots of memories on the walls. Salute to Chesty Puller.

I had not been to Paul's in such a long time so decided to meet a friend there for lunch. I had the Country Morning Breakfast and my friend had the BLT w/onion rings. For me the biscuit was stale, and the gravy had a funny taste. I didn't eat the potatoes as they were mushy and had no taste. My friend ate their sandwich but only two of their onion rings saying they tasted bad. So we did not eat most of our food. I had coffee and my friend water. The server was very friendly but did not ask us anything about our food. The OTD bill was $57.52 including a NON-CASH ADJUSTMENT and tip. I use to love Paul's but I can't see ever going here again. :-(
Baskets and graveyard are the worst that I have ever had, the graveyard is not sausage couldn't tell me what it was made from and no flavor. Very over priced. Baskets hards a rock could not eat. Stay away and save you hard earned money there are better places.
