Bella Trattoria is a fairly new Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Frederick. Bella is a hidden gem. This establishment has great decor and ambiance. I love the outdoor seating on the back patio. The service was great, the food was pretty good and the beer selection was not bad. The managers and service staff really try their best to make sure you have a great experience.
Tried out the recently opened Bella Trattoria and was very pleased. Our server was very sweet and the food and drinks were delicious. After our great brunch we will certainly be back to try dinner.
A delicious little SNUG, with a window on Old Town Frederick. The food is fresh, local and infused with love. All the pastries are delivered from the kitchen by the baker!!! Traditional favorites mingle with contemporary specialties. The wine and beer list is refreshingly diverse and reasonably priced. Our server Nicole was attentive, personable, helpful and....absent when appropriate. (So appreciated while we caught up) She evaluated our need to chat and only intervened when our glasses required replenishment, or we were in emergent need of DESSERT!! CHEESECAKE WITH CHERRY CARAMEL!!! WHAT?!?!??!?!!? Dont hesitate, make the call, get your table...and enjoy the dining experience and the atmosphere to chat...for as long as you like! Thanks Bella!!!
Osso bucco was so delicious! Really nice atmosphere, great wine and delicious food! Great restaurant in Frederick!
I always love eating at this restaurant. The food and drinks are so good!
Nice place, no meat, no problem.
The best Italian restaurant downtown Frederick
Best penne vodka in town
Great spot! Would go there again!
Great food and fantastic service.
Awesome food and service!
OMG. This place is sooooo good and decently priced. I've been dreaming of the gnocchi after talking a bite of my friends. My husband and I went back and it's as amazing as I remember. My husband got the veal and loved it also. We also got dessert and they were both amazing. This is going to be a regular date spot for us.
Fabulous and cozy. Loved this restaurant. First time for us in Frederick. Especially loved their hot crab dip. Staff was very nice, too. Would like to come back again.
We had the dried beef and mussels appetizer, then I got a shrimp with pasta and my husband had the lasagna, and we got the tirramisou and apple pie dessert, everything was fantastic! And very reasonably priced
Looking for an Italian restaurant in Frederick md? Look no further! This place has a nice atmosphere and friendly serves. I had the bruschetta and the chicken picatta and they were both good! I’ll be back again.
Food was awesome, came here for brunch got the prosciutto Benedict. It was amazing! 3$ mimosas on sundays, and the patio is gorgeous.
Highly recommend. Lasagna was out of this world, gluten free bolognese was fantastic and the nutella terrine was delicious. Ask them to warm it!
Erik the bartender ensures a good time is had by all. His knowledge, customer service and attention to detail make for a truly wonderful dining experience!
Fantastic food creations, good prices, friendly staff, and great cocktails. Definitely the perfect ambiance for a dinner date!
Eric makes unique cocktails based on your palate preferences. A great place for Italian fare.
Tasty, relatively inexpensive ($10-$15), and a nice ambiance. The fresh baked bread before the meal is awesome.
I love the food here, and think it's great that they work with local farms to get their produce. We have eaten here twice and have had excellent service!
Fine Italian cuisine, we enjoyed chicken parmesan and meatballs with linguine topped off with hot apple desert
Excellent service at the bar with Eric and the food was phenomenal. You have to try this place. You will not be disappointed.
Great Italian food in the heart of downtown Frederick! Everything is very fresh and great atmosphere
Delicious! I had the rabbit ragu and it was amazing!
Brunch was excellent. Loved the choices.
Great food, great service, excellent restaurant!!!
Great food and very attentive wait staff!
Great food, friendly waiter!
Very nice. Good Sunday Brunch
Food is amazingly fresh and made when you order it. Our waitress explained most ingredients are local, what they can't get local they buy from the best suppliers. We ordered apps, specialty cocktails, entrees, and dessert and it was all to die for. Restaurant is very clean, service was great as well.
Great food, service and ambiance! We came for our anniversary, our first visit, and we enjoyed every minute. They were gracious enough to congratulate us with Prosecco to start. We shared all of our dishes: Caesar salad (best Caesar dressing ever), minestrone soup, cream cheese appetizer with warm soft bread, and classic marinara spaghetti. All was delish, and nicely split for us. Looking forward to returning. Thank you Angela and Matt for a wonderful night!
The place looks great since they took it over. The entire staff was wonderful, especially our waitress Xan. But......we were a table of 5, and we all agreed that the food was average. Average taste, portion, etc. Nothing wrong with that. We eat out so often that the "experience" is just as important as the food. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
The waiter Travis was great, one of the best in Frederick. The food was good, the only down side was that my wife's food got cold waiting for BREAD. The head took longer than our meals!
Stuffed chicken was amazingly delicious. Calamari was perfect, the sauce it came with was a little rich, too much. Rabbit ragu was fantastic. Loved this place, will be back.
Very good service. They took a really good care of us. Nice atmosphere. Vegetarian options available. Food and Maranara sauce was a bit bland to my taste, nevertheless tasty. Overall a pleasant experience.
I had the meatball sandwich it was fantastic, but the fries were cold. Might want to warn the waiter that others have complained about cold fries!
Really good food but portion sizes are too small on some of the dishes
Pretty good little spot here. Salmon was solid as were their pasta dishes
Food was amazing! But, we were one of only 5 tables in the whole place and it took a long time to get our food. Even the bread took a while.
It took forever to get our drink orders. It took forever to get our drinks from the bar. His excuse was we only have one bartender. Awful experience because of service. He was lucky to have the help of a gentlemen who brought our food. Otherwise we would have waited forever. The bill was not cheap and tipped well. We hope he can do better next time to someone else. The food was okay. The best part of the meal was the grilled octopus. This was our second visit at Bella. Our 1st experience was great that we decided to come back.
Disappointing. I had the lasagna it was just ok. They state it's made with bolanaise sauce. However there is very little meat in the sauce and even less sauce in the lasagna and hardly any cheese. My husband ordered the grilled octopus salad he loved it. The server was very nice. But the food was very slow to come out and everyone's dishes came out at different times. Staff seemed very disorganized. Nit sure we will be back.
Shockingly, overwhelmingly loud but it was First Saturday and the last day of Restaurant Week. I did notice at least 2 parties leave before they ordered because of the noise. Service was glacially slow. Our 3-couse meal took two and a half hours. My husband joked that our waitress, whose name was Taylor, was certainly not Taylor Swift! That said, my appetizer was excellent - an onion tart garnished with a quail egg, pickled pear and salad. My daughter's mussels were good but few. The sauce was heavy on wine but not enough other flavor, if any. My husband's meatball was just okay. As far as the entree, my rabbit ragu over pappardelle was fairly unremarkable. The pasta itself was perfect. The meat was just mushy and no real flavor. It was lukewarm. My husband's hanger steak was excellent and had a nice hint of smoky charcoal. Dessert was a miss all round. The tiramisu was very strong on coffee with no discernible cocoa tang. Cute presentation in a martini glass but my daughter remarked that she'd rather have great tiramisu than a great presentation. It was also not fully set. My husband had strawberry cheesecake with mascarpone. It was light and fluffy but not especially flavorful. It desperately needed something tart like citrus or rich like chocolate to finish it off. Servings were adequate and appropriate but not large. Value for price would've been questionable if it weren't price fixe. Still, it was $125 plus tip which seemed like a lot for what is definitely not fine Italian. Will I go back? Unlikely. Too pricey to be this inconsistent.
Our waiter was fine — friendly and attentive. Everything else was a disaster. It look an hour before our appitizers arrived. The salad and the eggplant were underwhelming, and not worth the wait. We both ordered the butternut squash ravioli in “butter” sauce that was so flavorless it may as well just have been vegetable oil. The raisin and pistachio topping was burned, but we were too hungry to send it back after waiting so long for any food at all. Both deserts (Spimoni cookies and cherry panna cotta) were below average at best. We will not be back. If you are in Frederick and looking for Italian food, go to Nido’s on East Patrick St. instead. The food is much better, their prices are cheaper, and they serve you in under 30 minutes.
It may have been because it was restaurant week and very busy, but were seated for dinner at 6:30 and didn't get out until 9:00. It took way to long for each course to arrive and our waitress only asked it we wanted our drinks refilled once in the entire 2.5 hours. Food was over cooked and completely uninspiring. Very disappointed!
We visited during In the Streets. Our server at the bar was a pushy, irritated man with an attitude. The eggplant cheesecake that he convinced us to try was a terrible combination of flavors and textures. The spaghetti and meatballs had an odd flavor which left us disappointed. Don't recommend.
Incredibly SLOW service. Never again. There was one person at one table. No drink orders were taken. We walked out. We have been here in the past and didn’t return for many months. We remembered why after our latest (and last) experience.
Horrible customer service! I did not feel welcomed when I sat down with my family for my reservation. The manager rudely came up to the table and hovered demanding that we leave the restaurant by 5:00 because we were 10 minutes late for a reservation. I will never eat here again.
Ordered a cocktail that was on the featured menu and was told they didn't have the ingredients. They didn't offer an alternative. Also ordered the lasagna and it was messy and the sauce was far too sweet. The service was slow and management was hovering around the table. Overall the experience was poor.
