Had a very nice dinner this evening.. our server was very friendly, professional, and pleasant.. we had family visiting from out of town and it was a relaxing place to sit and catch up over great food and drinks. We will definitely be back! I love how the food is served on trays!

This was my first time visiting BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse in Frederick, MD and I was not disappointed. We ordered drinks and burgers. The food was great as well as the service. Zayana was our server and she gets 5 stars as well. We had a party of 4 and the cost was pretty reasonable.

August 16, 2024 - Nestled within Francis Scott Key Mall parking area, I remembered when this BJ’s Restaurant opened about 15 years ago or so . The new pub with lots of craft beers was a welcome night scene . . . the energy , TVs, and noise level attracted young dating people and some families with little kids. Tonight my wife & I joined our daughter & her children at a more subdued BJ’s. About 1/3 of the restaurant was dark, and unused. We had a 12 minute wait for our “ 6 person party” , next to a similar family with 2 children, which was fine. Our little one enjoyed mingling with the little girl behind him. 😃 Our server Ryan introduced himself and collected the drink orders. The kids had packets of coloring crayons and activity sheets, thank you! 👍🏼😃 I think I counted about 7 or 8 serving staff on the floor waiting customers. Reasonable crowded. Ryan returned with drinks and took the food orders. The kids were abit cranky, and needed their orders to come ASAP . . . Corn dogs, kids pizza, and both wanted fries. Seemed like a 30 minute wait 🥹 the kids meals showed up with the adults entrees. Always up for discovering craft beers. . . I ordered the “flight” of 4 beers. 🍺 Nutty brown ale 🍺 Porter 🍺 Stout 🍺 Blueberry Cobbler 🍺 Tried my wife’s, Jeremiah Red Ale ( I liked them all 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼) My wife loved her Mahi Fish tacos! My daughter liked her Chicken Sandwich! My older Grandson had the Italian chicken deep dish pizza . . . ate half, boxed up the remainder. I really enjoyed BJ’s wings , twice cooked, with a root beer Demi-glaze sauce! 😃👍🏼. My entree was a fresh garden salad topped with grilled chicken strips! Very good! Overall, the food was good, the beer selections & quality was excellent! The kitchen seemed a bit slow? I would suggest asking parents if they prefer a “ rush” on the children’s food ? Our little ones ( age 2 & 4 ) needed a little love! ❤️ Maybe a quick bowl of spaghetti noodles or a plate of French fries? We had the chicken Alfredo, and the Tri Tip steak... both were very full of flavor and filling, the martini was a Pink Cadillac 👌🍸...and the Triple GuavaRita was excellent, loved the peppered rim... delicious cocktail! Our waiter was fabulous, very attentive and punctual, had a great attitude and smile. Lovely choice for dinner date night 👌

I went to that place for some drinks with some very good friends. From asking a question of what BJ's means, to their drinks, this whole place is awesome on a different level. Ever had a drink out of a bathtub... No? Go there and try it. It's funny and makes for a lot of laughs! Plus that other drink with the goggly eyes... and they taste good!

I visited BJ’s in Frederic many times before, during, and after the pandemic, and I keep returning. It should count for something, so I am finally posting a review. 1. Good beer selection, 2. The food is excellent, the menu has many choices, and the portions are adequate to prices. 3. The service is always friendly and courteous, but not always fast ( the place is huge and usually packed)

The food and drink are both great here. My wife and stopped in to get something quick and were surprised how nice and welcoming the staff were. Our food came quick despite them being moderately busy. The wait staff w as s quick to get our orders and made sure our drinks were always full. They were both polite and respectful thing we expected but were happy to find. It is a great stop and we have added it to our list of places to eat when we go out.

I recently dined at BJ's and had a fantastic experience. Bella was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Bella's excellent service truly enhanced our dining experience, and we appreciated her warm and professional demeanor. I highly recommend BJ's in Frederick, Maryland, especially if you're lucky enough to have Bella as your server! Oh, and my Prime Rib was off the chain! 👍🏽

Visited BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse for dinner. It was my first time to this restaurant, but my family has eaten here before. The restaurant entrance is large and you are greeted with a bar and two large dining areas (one which is another section which would be great for private parties). Very high ceilings, which is great for keeping the noise down. Tonight we sat in the bar area. For dinner tonight we had the BJ’s Brewhouse Bowl with chicken, Grilled Chicken Alfredo and Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. To drink we had the Tito’s Strawberry Lemonade and a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. The food is okay (my filet was cooked well past medium), but the real star is the Pizookie. It’s the reason we eat here and why the food gets five stars. We ordered the Pizookie Trio. Tonight‘s choices were the Strawberry Shortcake Pizookie, Cookies ‘n’ Cream Pizookie and the Triple Chocolate Pizookie made with Ghirardelli. Yummy!! While my daughter loves the Cookies ‘n’ Cream, I love the Strawberry Shortcake. There are also several more flavors as well! So whether you’re coming for dinner or just coming for dessert I highly recommend the Pizookie! It really is the perfect ending!

Food and drinks were good. First time having a mojito so can’t compare to others but seemed fine. My only complaint is that we waited a little bit to be seated because there was no host. Our waiter was super friendly and actually seated us.

Darius was great server, very friendly and kind. My friends and I had a nice time. The food was good and prepared quickly. The guacamole and spinach dip was great, and I love their pizookie's!

I went with friends and enjoyed the happy hour food - great price, fast service, and yummy food! Darius was our server and was kind. Plus, the Pazookies are hard to beat!

Made my Fiancé and I’s Valentine’s Day/Anniversary date amazing. First time trying the tri-tip and it was on the money. Prime rib was so tender and delicious. The drinks and salted caramel pazookie was a great way to end our dinner. Our server was so sweet and attentive. She was rocking her section. Thanks again!!!

Waitress that waited on me and my daughter was outstanding. She was personable and we had my grandson with us and she brought out some fruit and fish crackers out to keep him occupied while we looked at menu and ordered. We got our food within a reasonable amount of time but felt that my burger and fries were not as hot as they should have been. I am not the type that when I am already in the restaurant. Overall a good experience and service was great!

Stopped on our way to a weekend getaway. First time there and loved it! The staff was great, Jaylen you killed it! He gave us great recommendations on beers, and was super attentive to our needs. I would have given food 4.5 stars if possible only cause broccoli was not very hot but otherwise the pretzel with beer cheese was great and so was the Tri cut and ribs combo. We got flights and the atmosphere was awesome! We would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My first time ever visiting here was not the best experience Due to timing with the food coming out of the kitchen. But the bartenders were great. My mother and I decided to come back in another time and give it another shot. The food wasn’t excellent, but it wasn’t bad, but Tiffany was our bartender and she was absolutely amazing. She’s the reason we will continue to come back. She was super attentive, very knowledgeable and just hands-down probably one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had. Thanks for everything Tiffany!

Waitress was very attentive and eager to help. She was on top of it. She was amazing. The food was great. Came out in a very timely fashion. No remarks on my end.

We recently dined at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse and had an overall excellent experience. The highlight was definitely the Five Meat Pizza—loaded with flavor, perfectly crispy crust, and generous toppings that made every bite satisfying. It was hearty, savory, and ideal for meat lovers. We started with the Fried Pickles, which were hot, crispy, and tangy—just what you want in a starter. The dipping sauce paired well and added a nice creamy kick. For something on the lighter side, we also had the Ahi Salad. The tuna was fresh and seared just right, and the greens were crisp and well-dressed. It offered a refreshing balance to the heavier pizza and fried pickles. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was lively but comfortable, perfect for a casual evening out. We’ll definitely be back!

Ate here while on a work trip. Food was amazing. Waiter was also amazing. The place was pretty slow for it being St. Patty's day. I recommend the Root beer glazed wings and homemade prickly pear lemonade

I love the place is clean and friendly and attentive employees. My waiter today was Sean, excellent service, what disappointed me today was the food, the first photo was what I ordered and changed later, my broccoli were overcooked and cold. The fried sweet potato was cold and tasted like old oil. The second photo mashed potatoes and Caesar salad.Cesar. My daughter's food was hot and great flavor. The wine I recommend "cupcake rosè" is not very sweet.

Ordered Protein bowl with shrimp. Also ordered Hot Fudge Brownie Pizookie as dessert. Food was delicious and good quantity. Atmosphere was good too. Only negative was our bill includes couple of items which we were not ordered. Luckily our friend checked the bill and advised the server to change it. It looks like those items were ordered by our near by table. I hope these type of errors will not happen again.

Great place for a quick bite to eat with an ok atmosphere. It has a very corporate feel to it like other chain restaurants, but a hell of a lot better than going to a local Frederick dive bar. Will visit again.

***UPDATE 6-26-2025*** Had an enjoyable relaxing happy hour bar experience on a somewhat quiet Thursday late afternoon... I also had the pleasure of being the first customer at the Frederick BJ's restaurant to enjoy the new seasonal Porter beer that they literally tapped the first keg for me to enjoy 😊 The BJ's sweet sin chocolate porter and it was delish!!! Also enjoyed a Troegs Little Nator and split a mini pizza along with some sliders and fries made for a nice meal and some good beer as well.. Shout out to our server whose name I hopefully am spelling correct Navaye who took great care of us at the bar seating. 6-5-2021 Ordered delivery from BJs one of the feast specials. The pizza and wing feast is a huge amount of food and came with a family salad as well. What was a bit disappointing was the pazooki desserts. I understand that packing them to go doesn’t always translate to a great dessert; but putting literally a teaspoon of hot fudge and a teaspoon of caramel in the to go containers was extremely cheap. The main dessert and ice cream was great; the toppings not. ***UPDATE 9-5-2021*** Tried the in person eating out version of BJs this time. Sorry to say a mixed bag... Food was a 4, service a 4, the 150 minutes of time from sitting down to leaving was unfortunately a 1. We were seated immediately, no wait (Sunday at 4pm) but the entire process of drinks, appetizers, meals and paying the check was extremely slow. Slow enough to delay my evening plans trying to leave waiting forever just to pay the check (another 25 minutes). Can't say it was the typical staff shortage there were plenty of people running around (I think the issue was lots of new people and inexperienced). So if you want a good meal, I recommend, but if you want to eat in 90 minutes or less, skip it. ***UPDATE 3-7-2022*** OK we're backup to 5 stars for BJ restaurant 😁 My wife and I attended the Guinness beer dinner on Monday night. It was excellent 5 star for sure. 5 courses of food with 7 different beers to sample. The pairings of specific beers to the course of meal was excellent and really hit the spot. I think my favorite was the Jeremiah red ale paired with the barbecue sliders...that was awesome. The beer was served in a 5 oz glass for each of the 7 and if you really liked it they would bring you out a second 5 oz beer as well. So after about 50 oz of strong beer I would highly suggest a designated driver or an Uber 😁. We had a party of 42 or participating and the Guinness dinner with the beer 2 of us were enjoying the dinner without the beer but it was a good time for all 4 of us We had a party of 4; 2 of us participating the Guinness dinner with the beer 2 of us were enjoying the dinner without the beer but it was a good time for all 4 of us. The next tasting event is the Monday before Memorial Day and it's advertised as advertised as wheat beer can't wait and I plan on attending. ***UPDATE 5-23-2022*** So 5 of us attended the wheat beer dinner. This version had 8 beer servings at 5oz each, along with extra servings of beer as you wished And there was so much food!!! More than enough...almost too much 😁 I'd say it's rare to have too much but in this case 4 courses instead of 5 would still have been too much 😁 The food itself tasted great, and the serving sizes were very generous. The only downside to the night...there was no running commentary to go along with the different beers...I rather enjoyed that during the Guinness dinner ***UPDATE 10-3-2022*** Attended the Oktoberfest beer dinner; plenty of good food and plenty of good beer...took an Uber this time so we thoroughly enjoyed 😊. 5 course meal and 7 servings of the 5oz beers with the German theme...the only difference this time from past beer dinners was I never heard the offer of "seconds anyone" for the beer samples that was typically offered in the past...frankly 7 was enough for me 😂

The food was great, drinks were good too. Our server was not impressive. She was really slow to check on us and we waited a while for every drink refill. All of the other servers were doing a great job, ours didn't seem to care about us.

I have been here multiple times since moving here and few years ago. It's been pretty good, but a bit expensive for the portion sizes. However, food quality was usually good. I do not recommend takeout or delivery. It use to be good but steadily became worse. The food is usually incorrect or missing completely. The last time it was awful to the point I have been turned off for awhile. The food was unacceptable; especially for the price. My chili only had meat, which was hardly there and it was pretty cold. The mashpotatoes had to have been cold the entire time because no cheese was melted. It was the most watery chili I have ever had. It was also almost as bad as Wendy's chili. I threw it away. They also got my bfs order wrong even though the sticker on his food container said a bake potato should have been included.

Never fails to disappoint. We give them another shot every couple of years. We were in the mood for wings and burgers. It had been 2 years since the last visit, so we tried again. Greeted quickly at arrival. Told it would be 20 minutes to get a seat and was pretty accurate. Seat was close enough to the door I was aware every time they opened the door. Server was clearly busy. Was about 10 minutes before she made it by. Once too apologize for the delay, then to return to take the order. She assured us she would be providing "excellent service". "We are out of Bone in Wings. Are boneless OK?" Right there we should have left. But we decided to give it a shot. From the time she left... it was again over 10 minutes before drinks arrived. Wings showed up next and they had no sauce on them. Just waited for my burger. And waited and waited. The next table over was talking to the manager about how their food was wrong, and the manager was promising to take it off the bill. I was looking forward to a rare burger with pepper jack and jalapenos. I sure got to "look forward to it for a while." What arrived was a paty about the same thickness as you get at McDonald's. And somehow even more burnt. The outside was charged, the center was grey and it crumbled at the touch. My wife offered to swap and cut the burger in 1/2. It fell apart. Our server happened by and I just handed it to her and asked her to throw it away. We placed a to go order for my son... Another mistake. The manager came by and asked if "we are making you another burger?" I declined and explained "no thank you, we are gonna place a Togo order. We have to go." He sort of shrugged and left. The Togo food was an additional 20 minutes. Which our server tried to make it "travelable" by separating the ice cream. Then gave us our check. Which we couldn't pay at the table. Tried multiple cards and phones. Finally had the server process the card. No reason to return. (The pictured burger was from years ago. The one in this review was not photographed.)

The staff was kind and customer service oriented. We ordered the parmesan crusted chicken and rib meal deal for takeout. We added a pizza. It was generous portions and a phenomenal price. We ordered online. There were a few issues with our order that could have absolutely been prevented had someone read. First, I requested no tomato in the salad. There was tomatoes in the salad. We ordered a loaded baked potato with sour cream, chives, and cheese. We only received butter. The parmesan crusted chicken did not seem to have any parmesan and should have been called lemon chicken because it straight up tasted like lemon. The chicken tasted like lemon, the sundried tomatoes tasted like lemon, and the sauce tasted like lemon. They even included lemons which wasn't necessary since it just tasted like lemon anyway. The ribs were good, but could have been slightly more tender. The pizza was really thick, but was good. We just prefer thin crust NY style pizza. All in all. It was a good price, but I suppose you get what you pay for. It was pretty disappointing since whomever threw it together didn't pay attention to the details.

Editing my review after about 2 years We went here for a family lunch on a Sunday, the service was terribly very slow, even for check they took about 10-15 mins…. It took 3 hours to complete small lunch for us. Food was avg! This was my previous review Nice place to hang out!!! Unfortunately I couldn’t order much as only I and my wife went for an unexpected dinner. We just order the nachos it was not bad and the beers were good, the beer which my wife ordered was a cider and she enjoyed it. My beer was great and refreshing.

Friday night about 5 pm when we stopped with a party of 10. The place was not busy at all at that time. It took about 30 min just to get simple drinks. We had zero confidence in the waiter at that point. The wait for the food was not too long, maybe 20 min. Never offered drink refills. The food was horrible. Salads that felt like they were sitting for hours. Hardly any salad dressing. Wings are so weird and tasteless. The only thing that was good was the broccoli cheddar soup. We lost our waiter for long periods of time and had to ask another waiter for our checks. When it came to splitting checks 3 ways, forget it. The manager got involved and couldn’t figure it out after 15 min with so many errors by the waiter. Multiple attempts by everyone with pens and paper and the bills still couldn’t be figured out. As the manager saw the frustration growing, he decided to waive all the checks because it was such a mess. Although the waiter had issues, the terrible food was not his fault. The bathrooms were nasty and not stocked with toilet paper in the women’s restrooms. The men’s bathroom was dirty as well. The manager made it right by comping all the meals but wow does this place need help.

Informed the waitress of lactose allergy. Let's just say unable to tell us if it was safe once food was received possibly used butter which contains milk. Drinks were not refilled. Dirty dishes were asked for over top of my food I was eating. We were not asked if we wanted dessert and bill was handed while one of us was still eating. Food was ok. I willnnot be returning. Very disappointed. Manager didn't seem to care about any of our issues.

Waste of money! Food sucks and bringing attention of suckiness to server is a waste. From the dirty plates to the bathroom water so hot it burns!! Waited ten years for a seat, eventually sat by a manager who was at the bar on his laptop very unaware. Restaurant was mostly empty but I was still sat smack dab in the middle of the only other three tables. The wedge salad was tiny, still had a big ol core, and half brown. The wings were WEIRD.. the texture was something unknown, reminded me of lab grown meat! I complained and the server said oh yea I had to take back someone else’s too. The ribs were a good deal but so tough don’t bother..😹 even the cookie pie was raw.. and I felt SICK FOR DAYS! I said something again to the server explaining how I was disappointed. Nothing was adjusted on my bill, no real apologies, manager was outside walking around in a flannel.. this was Thursday around 2/3pm. 3/27/25.. our bill was over 100$.. and should be refunded!

I won't go back. Ordered pickup and was supposed to be ready at 7:10. At 7:21 I received a message stating it was being packed. I went in at 7:25 to go get it and it wasn't ready. Someone, who I assumed to be the manager, assured me it was being packed up. I received my food at 7:40 and nobody cared to apologize for the wait or anything. It's Friday, I get it. They set the expectation of when I was supposed to get my food and didn't meet it and didn't seem to care about it. And, I didn't get all of my food. No side for my burger. No strawberries or vanilla ice cream with my strawberry shortcake Pizookie. My burgers were literally cold. I had to put them in the oven. This was a disaster. ****** I called back and the manager gave me gift card.

Food was great, can’t go wrong especially if you order the right thing. Got a good waiter the first time, this time an awful one. What was a great meal, completely ruined by the service. Makes the whole experience go to shame. Edit: got desert to go and here’s what the cookie looked like. Don’t know what happened this go round, this is nothing like the BJ’s I went to a month ago.

I ordered online, and there was long brown hair baked into the pizza. I only noticed it on the last slice. Will not be returning!

I came here for a birthday dinner with some family. I ordered chicken breast with mashed potatoes and fries. The chicken was absolutely not real. It tasted off and artificial somehow. It caught me by surprise. Don’t think I’ll get anything chicken from here again. Don’t order the chicken.

I ordered blackened chicken caesar salad and broccoli cheddar soup bowl. The bread for my soup was hard as a rock. The chicken on Caesar salad was super hard and the broccoli cheddar soup didn't taste fresh. $35 gone down the drain.

We usually love going to BJs when visiting family in Frederick but tonight was disappointing. We did do a virtual waitlist for an hour then went and waited an hour in person. When asked what the wait time was customers were consistently told “just a few minutes”. We did leave without ever being seated. We will return to BJs but just very disappointed in the lack of honest communication, especially with 2 small children and a family member in a wheelchair.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This USED to be a nice place to have dinner with your family. Not anymore. The restaurant has to be run by new management and they’re clearly failing. The service was absolutely terrible. The server seemed new and had a very difficult time taking our drink order. I ordered a beer and had to remind her 30 min later I ordered one. I was also never asked if I wanted another one. We waited 35-40 min for our food to come out. The place wasn’t busy at 7:30. We got our food after 8:00. This isn’t the first time we had bad service there. We had terrible service two other times at this location. I decided to give it another try. Big mistake! The men’s bathroom was filthy and a urinal was out of service. The food was about the only thing that was good. The management should either be replaced or retrained, I didn’t see one walking around. If I had I would’ve let them know how poorly they’re running the place! We won’t be back. Oh I definitely emailed corporate after that experience. I would love to get a response.
