A beautiful yet simple place, typical of an osteria. The food isn't overly elaborate but tastes exquisite, from the appetizer of local cured meats and cheeses to the sliced ​​steak or fillet, not to mention the first courses that literally melt in your mouth. 1 appetizer, 1 first course, 2 second courses, 1 bottle of Chianti, and 1 water... €79.... If it weren't for the debit card I would have left the change for the service and quality. Recommended!

I'm trying this place, which I'd seen many times while visiting Galliate, but which, for one reason or another, I hadn't had the chance to try. Located in the city center, it's easier to reach on foot, leaving the car on one of the two main roads of this town just outside Novara. We're greeted by the friendly and exuberant owner, who is assisted by a young waitress who, while not the most professional, is extremely kind and attentive. The place is long and narrow, with tables that aren't huge, but they'll suffice. The chairs are comfortable, but the walls could use some freshening up. The menu is appropriately limited, featuring traditional dishes alongside original and reinterpreted options, as well as appetizers and main courses featuring top-quality, certified meat. It's a shame that dishes like the classic Paniscia Novarese require a minimum of two people to order it: it should be offered to all customers and always available. So I choose spaghetti with saffron, gorgonzola, and pancetta, since my partner isn't a fan of local dishes! The spaghetti is good and filling. I continue with a fillet with three peppers and a side of roast potatoes: the meat is excellent, even if a little over-seasoned, but perhaps that's my fault; I could have chosen the tagliata given the quality of the meat. I pair it all with a Nebbiolo, which the owner assures me is from the same producer as most of the wine list. Cons? It's not a good idea to allow dogs; as much as I love them, they're not welcome in a place with limited space. Plus, the wine list should offer more local wines. Considering the attentive and friendly, but unprofessional, service, the somewhat old, crowded, and noisy structure, the bill was a bit too steep: for two, with an order of two first courses, two second courses, a side dish, 1/2 liter of wine by the glass, and a mineral water, we spent €75.00.....

A welcoming place with friendly staff, suitable for everyone, families and non-families alike. I thought the reviews suggested the food quality would be better, but for me, it wasn't anything special. The final bill, €80, is a bit too expensive for the quality of the food.
