We came here on what seemed to be a slow evening as we were the only ones outside on the porch. You get a nice view with a calm atmosphere from the porch and it has screens so bugs aren’t all over you. Our server was very kind and attentive. The food exceeded our expectations. We ordered the hummus, Porch Burger, Shrimp and Grits, and Redfish Pontechartrain along with peach and passion fruit mojitos. No complaints. As for parking, we were able to park on the restaurant’s street with no problems and there was plenty of space in the surrounding areas.
A small slice of heaven on the beach. BLT, mimosas, and everything else you’d need after a day on the beach. Bailey was a gem of a waitress and provided fantastic service.
We made reservations for 5:15 and were seated as soon as we arrived. Unfortunately they didn't have everything on the menu, but we still ate well. Sweet chili shrimp on a bed of kimchi, avocado Caesar salad, crab and shrimp linguini, and a family shared side of amazing asparagus. Daughter got the cinnamon bun bread pudding to go. Everything was delicious and we left beyond stuffed. Dorian, our waiter, was attentive and friendly, as were the rest of the staff.
My wife and I have been coming to Porch Cafe for almost 10 years. We love this restaurant and have stuck with them even when they've had some down times. Recent visit was delicious, and we decided to do a "small plates" night. Everything was on point. Tasty Porch Devils, excellently seasoned fried green tomatoes, delicious sweet chili shrimp, and you can never go wrong with the lollipop lamb chops. SUPERB service, and of course we'll be back again and again! Thanks for being one of our favorite places, Porch Cafe!
I must say our first experience here was very interesting. We ordered for appetizers we got the Fried Green Tomatoes which were good topped with crab meat, the chicken and waffles with eggs and jalapeño grits(which are delish) was also good. Ok so it all was perfect except the chicken, it came out totally burnt(maybe some people like that) so our waiter MIKE(Super nice 🥰) suggested grilled chicken and OMG it was amazing. Perfect option to go with my meal. And the sauce the chef used was superb. WE ordered the Memosa and I think the Porch Berry Lemonade (that was absolutely beautiful and delicious) and they wasn't too strong but a small speed bump kick to them. It was this one waitress who wasn't very sanitized. She handed out our straws with her bare hands then put them on the table (eww) MIKE (Our 🦸♂️ superman) handed us new straws with a paper towel and in our hands. 😁 So awesome. Overall experience was awesome 👌🏾
Lovely restaurant in the upscale Beachtown Galveston neighborhood. Casual dining at its finest with a succulent selection of many dishes to go along with the fantastic drinks being from the bar. This place has one of the better spicy bloody Mary's I've ever had and the mimosa is made with top shelf champagne. Fresh fruit, eggs benedict perfectly made, and friendly staff. We will definitely come back here again!
My wife and I dined there this evening for the first time. The food was spectacular. The atmosphere was on point and the staff was remarkable. Our man in the galley was Justin John was upfront behind the bar, and Lorenzo took care of our orders. They are not enough superlatives to put our evening into focus. Loved every minute of it. Will most definitely return it. Thank you guys for a wonderful evening!
Oh my gosh, how have I never been here before?! The food is to die for and the views?! GORGEOUS. Our waiter Lorenzo was very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and overall made our experience over the top amazing! Place is dog friendly and even brings your fur baby a water bowl!! Will be coming back!
I LOVED my experience at Porch! I had the macaroni which was well-priced and so yummy! Bailey was my server who was an absolute sweetheart - she made sure I had everything I needed and was so kind! I definitely recommend Porch for anyone who wants to enjoy a lovely atmosphere and a great view of the water <3
I loved it, simply spectacular. The food was delicious, the views were beautiful, and the customer service was excellent: warm, professional, and friendly. Special mention to Lorenzo — such a fun character who will surely make your experience unforgettable. I recommend visiting at night for a truly memorable time.
I’m a regular at Porch Cafe and I can not recommend this place enough!! The atmosphere is incredible and the service is top knotch! The servers make you feel right at home. I always request Bailey as my server!! Bailey makes the best recommendations and takes care of me and my family! She even tied my kids shoes for him, which I thought was super sweet. You don’t find great people like that anymore. I LOVE Porch Cafe! My favorite dish right now is the Redfish Pontchartrai. It is to die for!!!
Went to Porch Café to celebrate our first anniversary with my wife and had such a lovely experience! The food and atmosphere were great, but what really stood out was the service. Lorenzo was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really special the entire time. Definitely recommend this spot for any occasion!
A hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle. We were recommended this place from a congregation member at church for lunch and so we decided to give it a try. What an excellent experience! You can sit inside or outside, or breezy side or more quiet side. They even have what appears to be a private dining area rentable for small events. The menu is plentiful and offers a great lunch experience. I had the redfish BLT, my children had the wedge with chicken and my wife had avocado toast with smoked salmon. This was well worth the visit, well worth the trip, and the service was exceptional! They are also dog friendly. We will be back! Thank you Porch Cafe!
We celebrated our Anniversary at the Porch Café. It is a beautiful space with great views. We chose the Four course Wine pairing dinner. It was the best meal we've had in our last year of travels. Each course, and paired wine, was perfect. The ingredients were fresh. Perfectly balanced flavors. And the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend trying the burnt orange old fashioned. Shout out to Daniel (bartender), Justin (server), and the talented Chef Sean (who turned my husband into a grits fan).
The food was delicious, nice atmosphere. The neighborhood is very cute, the location is great if you want to go for a beach walk after. FYI - The restaurant closes at 3 pm and reopens at 5pm. I think it’s a bit pricey. Husband and I came with our 9 year old. I had the Eggs Benedict, they had a burger and fries (can’t remember what my husband had) hot tea, juice and soda. Our bill was 80$
The place was empty when we arrived I wasn’t sure where to go, I’m glad it seems there’s typically a huge wait! The fried green tomato was so delicious and my husband loved the porch burger. The toasted pistachio bread pudding should be called lemon blueberry bread pudding but still tasty!
Had a reservation so no wait. Was seated on the porch with a water view and heaters turned on. It was very warm and nice. The service was excellent. I believe our waiters name was Peter and he was great. The food was over all pretty good. I had a few slightly undercooked portions on my egg dish but nothing to complain about I ate 95 percent of it. With that being said everything was delicious and will become a regular spot for us.
Ordered several items off their brunch menu Really Good: Fried green tomatoes w/ burrata Watermelon arugula salad Good: Crab cake- would be great if they used jumbo lump Avocado toast w/ salmon Ok: Benedict Porch burger- the beef is overworked and tough Disappointing: Pancakes- they were burnt burnt on the bottom Grilled cheese w/ tomato soup- it was marinara Old Fashioned- diluted down whisky and not enough bitters The service and atmosphere was great!
This was an adorable place and the environment was so tranquil and beautiful. Sadly, the food did not match the vibe. The fried green tomatoes were unseasoned and the batter was thick with a heavy grease taste…the same for the chili shrimp. The food in the breakfast plate lacked seasoning as well. The grits were amazing…their best items were the shrimp and grits and the French toast.
Disappointing, bland food that was *WAY* overpriced. I had “The Porch Scramble.” No discernible cheese though Pecorino Romano was mentioned in menu description. A few chives, good bacon onside, and ONE (really?) thin piece of brioche toast -FOR $19. FYI the brewed coffee ($4) was terrible. My friend had the Redfish BLT ($20): an unadorned, unseasoned redfish filet on a bun with bacon, romaine lettuce, tomato and dijon mustard (??) with generic SYSCO French fries. Sound appetizing? It wasn’t. For a place that aspires to fine dining, judging from their prices, they need to up their game. It was practically empty on a beautiful Saturday morning before Christmas. Galveston must know better. Brunch menu as of 12/2025 posted as a PSA of their overpricing. SERVICE⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ATMOSPHERE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re wondering who’s writing all these glowing reviews, I’d like to meet them — and maybe borrow their rose-colored glasses. Because what we experienced was a full-on brunch letdown from start to finish. The ambiance? Think “vacation rental chic” — you get to stare at condo balconies and Airbnbs while pretending you’re somewhere interesting. The menu? “Limited” doesn’t quite capture it — more like “half-finished brainstorm session.” I ordered a Bloody Mary that arrived in what I can only assume was a juice glass for toddlers — about six ounces including the ice. Pre-made mix, three lonely olives, and a $15 price tag. That’s $2.50 per ounce if you’re keeping score. Then came the shrimp and grits — five medium shrimp awkwardly perched on top of unseasoned grits swimming in a sad, watery broth (not gravy, not sauce… broth). With a rescue mission of salt, pepper, and hot sauce, it became almost edible. For $23, I expected something resembling flavor. My wife’s burger ($20) wasn’t much better. She made it halfway through after attempting a DIY seasoning job with salt, pepper, and mayo. By the time the check hit — $43 per person after tip — we realized we’d just paid steakhouse prices for food I’d be embarrassed to serve to houseguests. Bottom line: Save your money, your taste buds, and your Saturday morning mood
We ordered catering for our thanksgiving meal, Here’s what we ordered: Turkey, roast beef, Dressing, broccoli casserole, Mac and cheese, grits, and a Bread pudding This was 350 dollars, So here’s what we got Broccoli casserole, green beans, AND THREE THINGS OF BREAD PUDDING. This singlehandedly ruined our thanksgiving, as we were left with nothing for our main course, only one of our sides, and 3 things of desert that one could only imagine was added to get rid of them. we are taking this issue up with our bank. and we will never eat from this mediocre excuse for a white womans brunch location, ever again.
The host and staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming. From the moment we walked in, we were given dirty looks by the staff. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived as a group of 20 and denied service. We had made a reservation through Google beforehand, which is listed as an official booking option for the restaurant. However, when we showed proof of our reservation, the staff told us they don’t accept bookings made through Google. Why is the option available on the business page if reservations made through Google aren’t accepted? Extremely misleading. The host also informed us that they couldn’t serve our group unless we came in groups of 10, an hour apart from each other. Host then blamed the chef, claiming the chef refused to serve “that many people.” Throughout the entire interaction, the host continued make sly, unprofessional remarks to her coworkers about our group, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. Overall, negative experience and unprofessional service.
My sorority sisters made a reservation for 20 people, which was approved ahead of time. But when we arrived, the staff flat-out denied seating us. They told us that only 10 of us could sit and the other 10 would need to come back an hour later — even though the restaurant was nearly empty and there was only one table finishing up. It was clear within minutes that they didn’t want to serve us. The way we were treated was disrespectful, dismissive, and discriminatory. There was no valid reason to turn us away after confirming our reservation. This place made us feel completely unwelcome. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone — especially if you expect to be treated fairly and with basic respect.
