This place deserves a million gold stars! The food is ALWAYS top notch & tastes amazing! And Paula makes the best drinks! She’s an amazing bartender & always sweet & fun to talk to. I always look forward to her drinks 👏🏼🍹
Sat at the bar with a friend, food was fresh, and delicious. Claudio our server, was polite and pleasant, answered all of our questions, and provided suggestions.
I've been going here regularly every weekend with my wife for the past couple months to enjoy their lunch specials. Everytime, the experience has been fantastic. The food is consistently high quality and enjoyable. The service is attentive and respectful. They have easy listening music in the background to entertain you during the quiet moments, yet it is quiet enough that my wife and I can have conversations without trying to shout.
Dining at Nomiya was the high point of my Long Island visit. The food was STELLAR - the freshest, most flavorful sushi I've had in years. The atmosphere is clean, sleek and stylish. The servers were warm and personable. That masterful bartender made the best espresso martini I've EVER had. Everything about the meal was satisfying. I'll be visiting every time I'm in Long Island from now on!
This place did not disappoint! Service was great and the food even better. I love sushi and have tried many places across the country, this is the one of best ones I have tried. As constructive criticism, it does feel like the rolls are a bit small and did not really like the idea of flaming the Atlantic roll in aluminum paper but other than that, it was amazing. Highly recommended!!!!
An outstanding oasis in the mall! The food is so good, I haven't had anything I haven't enjoyed yet. The atmosphere is elevated and relaxing and a reprieve from mall hustle and bustle. The staff is always friendly too! If you're a fan of Japanese food check it out.
Love this place!! Amazing food and service, our waitress Paola was extremely helpful and kind! ⭐️
We stopped in here briefly as we had planned on dining else where. However, we were extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised with how awesome the food and service was. Mia is extremely sweet as are the rest of the staff. The sushi was extremely fresh. We also got Gyoza and it was delicious. The Miso soup is my new favorite. And as everyone else has said the ambiance is top tier. Very calming and welcoming.
Sometimes I just need a spicy tuna over crispy rice fix, and Nomiya hits the spot. Perfect balance of solid staples (yellowtail jalapeno, rock shrimp, shishito) and yummy innovations (spicy tuna avocado bomb, sake-tinis). Will definitely be back - their sushi, sashimi, and most importantly wasabi quality are A1. I also love how so many dishes are topped with beautiful microgreens. Generous portions, high quality cuts, and super fresh!!!
Food and service was great! The happy hour menu is fantastic and the drink selection is very good. Service was quick and knowledgeable about the menu.
Great place to come and eat. Food was great !The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very polite especially the manager kelvin he is very helpful and sweet.
Had a great meal here. Cocktails are delicious as well as the food. Highly recommend the avocado bomb and the sushi here.
Amazing food quality and great tasting too… the waitress got our order wrong at first but was able to correct it after minutes of waiting. Will probably go back in this place when we visit the area again. It’s worth coming back for sure!
AMAZING service and quality restaurant. Our exceptional waiter David was so considerate and helpful and patient with us, explaining the menu and offering us suggestions of the crowd favorites and his own personal taste. We went with the Avocado Bomb which was super special and welcomingly different with the sweet potato scoop chips. Also, we had the Atlantic Roll with the fire-flaming dragons breath, which really hit the spot! Ambience is calming, food was quick to be brought to the table and the Yizu drink was a perfect top off. David is the best waiter. Definitely recommend!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing experience at Nomiya Sushi & Izakaya! The sushi was absolutely outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The ambiance of the place is warm and stylish, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal. Special thanks to Paola for her exceptional service — attentive, kind, and truly made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
I came in for lunch during happy hour and will surely be back. Before I even opened the glass door a gentleman who worked there greeted me with a smile. I was sat promptly and given then menus by Paola. She as well as the other staff were extremely attentive. The happy hour deal is great and the freshness and quality of everything I ordered were top notch. I order spicy tuna crispy rice anywhere I see it on the menu and this one was one of my favorites. There was an extra level of flavor that was so yummy in the sauce they either drizzled or mixed into the spicy tuna. The chicken kaarage was excellent as well as the spicy tuna roll. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu items. Paola was absolutely sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. I’ll be back soon for sure!
Last minute date night tonight and I’m so glad I found this spot! Absolutely worth the price, little expensive but 100% worth it. The Pacific was delicious, but honestly the wings sold the whole thing for me. Christal gave her recommendations and steered us in the right direction! Looking forward to coming again! Oh and the drinks were fantastic too
Stopped by this Japanese restaurant by the mall, but quiet in there but they were very nice. Loved the bar setup. They had a great lunch box I think I seen on the menu but we decided to do La Carte. Ordered a bunch a things , service was amazing and fast. Food was delicious, definitely try the ribs and soy garlic wings !! Parking - A lot Service - 10/10 Ambiance- Very Nice , seating in the back Large Groups - Call and ask WiFi - Not Sure Baby Approved !!!
One of my favorite Japanese spots at the Roosevelt Field mall!! So far, I’ve tried the Sashimi Tasting, Pacific Roll , Alaskan Black Cod fish , Avocado Bomb and Ube & lotus chips was pretty good. The food was amazing and service was attentive. The restaurant is nice n cozy and plenty of parking outside the mall. Most of all, They have good selection of different type of liquor to go well with some of the dishes. If you’re in the area, You should definitely stop in if you’re craving for some sushi or a nice dinner and you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back again!
I love Nomiya. It's as simple as that! The food is amazing. Great flavors and so fresh. They are very accommodating in how you would like something made. The staff is on point and everything was spotless. The sushi is awesome, but Nomiya is more than sushi. Even got some to take out!
My fiance and I accidentally walked by this restaurant at the mall and we ended up having the best time! Not only was the food delicious and the fish so fresh, the drinks were also top notch! But what really made the experience exceptional was the bartender and servers, Claudio and allen/alan made wonderful food and drink suggestions, and they were super fun to talk to. Good Servers and bartenders really make a good restaurant even better! Can't wait to come back again!
5 stars deserved!!! The food is very delicious and fresh! We had the spicy tuna crispy rice, the atlantic roll, the nassau roll and the salmon and avocado roll! Extremely delicious! And the Miso soup, omg loved it, very tasty everything! Totally recommended! Thanks also to our waiter Josh!
Thanks Nomiya for another wonderful dining experience last weekend with my friends. The quality of your products and ingredients were fresh and perfect. I must compliment the servers also for their professionalism and really showed their pleasure to satisfy everyone’s needs. Keep up the good work and can’t wait to fill my appetite on next round!

BEST HAPPY HOUR in Roosevelt Field. 🥇🥇 Standing outside and was beckoned in by bartender. Enticed by the outrageous Happy Hour menu. $5 tap beers (Orion & Sapporo). $8 small plates & sushi rolls. Got the spicy tuna roll with 8 pieces. That’s $1 a piece. 👍👍 Simply delicious. Tuna & salmon are highly recommended for cyclists. Great vibes at the bar. Happy hour is Monday - Friday, 4-7 pm.

honestly no complaints, food was good on the pricey side but it’s expected, attentive waiters, clean bathrooms, outdoor seating available
Went with one of my co-workers for lunch. We were greeted upon entry and were told to sit wherever we’d like. The server was very friendly and provided prompt service. My co-worker and I both ordered the stir fry udon noodle bento box and the portion was more than enough. The food was freshly prepared and tasted great. Would recommend and will definitely revisit in the future.
I absolutely love this restaurant! It’s definitely a hidden gem in the Garden City area and has become one of my favorites spots in the Roosevelt Field mall. Not only is the food incredible, fresh and unique but the staff is very friendly and efficient. Paola at the bar is amazing, super attentive, goes above and beyond and she takes the entire experience to a higher level. Here at my top recommendations. The honey chili wings, the Nomiya sushi roll and the lychee martini! Don’t forget to ask for Paola!
Happy Hour is the move. Their HH menu features a lot of the tasting options you’ll? (Okay fine "I") want—and come back for. Don’t sleep on their whiskey selection, and you can’t go wrong with a Toki Highball.

Food was good. Sushi was fresh. Service was good overall. We were able to eat with a coupon on top but without it, I’m not sure the value is there but it is right at the mall so I guess it would be more expensive.
Came here for happy hour, and most of the drinks were included. We ordered the fried chicken, shrimp tempura, and dumplings. I’d say the shrimp tempura was my favorite the rest of the food was alright. It did take a while for the food to arrive, but the place was packed during happy hour. I’d definitely come back now that I know what to order!
Great service, great drinks, and the food was pretty good! Came here with a friend for happy hour on a Thursday and we got lucky to get seats at the bar because it filled up fast. The sushi rolls were yummy, crispy rice was decent, drinks were so good!
Midday in between lunch and at the start of happy hour brought me to Nomiya! The place was fairly empty and gearing up for dinner service soon. I got a sushi roll and ginger beer to start. It felt less like I was inside of Roosevelt Field mall and the quiet ambiance was refreshing. The sushi was good and I couldn’t handle and entree after that. Plus I had enough bags to carry. My server was very in tune with my dining experience. The manager on duty was meticulous and read every detail of my reservation and profile to serve me as best he could. Wow! I stopped at the bar after leaving the dining room and my spicy margarita was amazing. The Teremana helped but what a drink for $8! I’m coming back. Period.
Decent place to grab some sushi and Japanese apps. They have good selection of drinks as well including sake and cocktails. Place was pricy for the amount of food that we were served. Quality of the sushi was decent but I felt it didn't justify the prices.
Tried Nomiya last night for dinner in Roosevelt field mall near Havana central. The decor & service was great. The waitress was very engaged & made suggestions based on our questions. The bar area was nice & easily accessible from the parking lot. The food was tasty & the spice for the harami fried rice was just right based on our waitress’s recommendation. We also had the beef teriyaki which was great as well. The appetizers were delicious as well we had the wings & shrimp gyoza. The price to the portion ratio isn’t a lot so if you’re looking for a lot of food you may be disappointed. Price for 3 people sharing 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 mock-tail sparkling water & a fever root ginger drink was great at $120 including tip. I would rate it as follows: Price to food-3/5 Decor-4/5 Food-5/5 Service-5/5

Went to Nomiya for dinner. Decor looks great. Ambiance is nice. Restaurant is modern and sleek. Wait staff is new, might have been their first day (Did not know menu). For starters we had spicy edamame, rock shrimp tempura and yellowtail jalapeño. Edamame was regular edamame with spicy seasoning(4/5), Shrimp tempura was nicely cooked and tossed in a nice sauce (4/5), Yellow tail jalapeño was great, fish was nicely prepared(5/5). Next was the entrees, this where the meal took a turn in the wrong direction. We had the chicken teriyaki first, chicken lacked seasoning and was only tossed in teriyaki sauce. Tasted very plain(2/5). To finish our dinner we had the Nomiya roll it being their signature roll and all. It came out wrapped in foil and lit on fire. Nice presentation however once un wrapped and served the roll was burnt along with the sauce that was on top of roll. Although the fire added to the presentation in ruined the whole roll. The roll then tasted smoky and burnt hiding all the great fish they had put in roll. Nomiya roll (1/5). All and all the Nomiya is a nice restaurant and they definitely have great fish. I just wouldn’t order anything with ‘dragons breath’ otherwise your sushi might taste burnt. Maybe with wait staff gaining more knowledge on menu and chefs preparing dishes in a way where food isn’t burnt Nomiya can be a better experience. (3.5/5)
Although this place is a bit too dark at the dining area , the bar is nicer looking. Fortunately, they have outdoor dining, and that's where we sat. The service was excellent. They were helpful and attentive. The food was ok, we started with Rock and Roll Shrimp Tempura and Fried Wings, and they were pretty good. That was followed by the Teriyaki Beef Lunch Box, I had better, and I would like to try other choices in the menu if I go back

Mediocre at best...ribs with rice was bland...ribs was not soft and tender. Teriyaki chicken wasn't flavorful. Karage chicken was not fully cooked or fried. I should have returned the entire meal but accepted the lost
September 2024 update: I have to drop this place from a 5 to a 2. Absolutely no longer worth it. This place has changed a lot since it opened. What was once a premium experience: great service, great food, expansive wine and sake menus-have all suffered immensely. Nomiya used to have this ridiculously fresh otoro. The chef would come out and explain the cuts to you when you ordered the tasting platters. The rolls tasted like the rice was just cooked and anything you ordered with a crunch or a crisp was legit. Now? Hokkaido scallops come out frozen. The crunch in a spicy tuna roll is soggy. The karage is tasteless. The servers and bartenders that used to be attentive and offer suggestions and initiate conversations when they were bored are gone, replaced by a bunch that just talk about how they fumbled “the cute girl at table 23” in the corner or argue about their PS5. They seem to have killed the wine and sake menu too, so if you want to order something that’s not a house sake you’ll not get a name or a real description short of “we have a good one but it’s expensive.” Probably the worst part of this is the sushi doesn’t have that fresh taste anymore, you’d get better flavor and cuts at the conveyor belt sushi across the street. I’ll pour one out for these guys, but it won’t be the $25 pour of Toki.
I’m a frequent eater in the restaurants in the Roosevelt Field mall, and I’ve eaten in this restaurant about two or three weeks ago. I recently had a medical procedure, and as a result, needed to use a restroom pretty quickly. I walked in and asked her if I could use it, and she said no. I told her I’ve eaten there before, but wasn’t good enough. — Places have a soul, a social conscience, it’s a small ask, a small give. I walked down to the next restaurant, True Food, and they said “sure go ahead”. There’s your social conscience. This place gets 1 star, and probably my last visit, the other place gets 5 (editing to reply to their reply - I don’t drink. They lied. That’s 100x worse than refusal to use a bathroom to non customers. )
Went in today for brunch. I waited very long for my food waitress was nasty and busy doing what talking to another coworker food was not good at all and was cold. Would not recommend coming back there anymore. was expensive and was not worth it
